What to Wear to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, Broken Down by Era
Whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe.
If you’re anything like team Marie Claire, you’ve been waiting for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour from the minute that it was announced. And whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe. Or, should I say, matches the eras of Swift’s music.
As a fan who got to attend the show in Boston recently, I was amazed at the wide array of looks at my show. Fans were decked out in Reputation -era snake print, glitter-encrusted face paint inspired by Swift's Lovers album cover, and plenty of DIY’d T-shirts from her Speak Now days. The bottom line? The looks varied widely, proving that you can truly go in any direction when picking your outfit for the Eras tour.
I love getting dressed up for concerts, but I also want to make sure that I can wear my new pieces again and again. It was a question I asked myself over and over while shopping for my own Eras Tour ensemble: Is the look good for me for right now, or good for me forever? In the end, I opted for a bedazzled mesh dress that I could also wear again on a night out over jeans or a slip dress . For the show, I opted to style it over a bodysuit for added coverage.
If you’re heading to the show this summer, there are a few key things to keep in mind, no matter what you wear. The show is long—five hours from the beginning of the opening act to the end of Swift’s set!—so you’ll want to wear comfortable clothing. Plus, if you’re the kind of fan who spends the majority of the concert jumping and dancing like you’re alone in your bedroom, you’ll want to wear something that you don’t have to worry about adjusting. Comfortable footwear is a must, so make sure that your new shoes don’t require breaking in before you go. Finally, the temperature tends to drop at night—especially if you’re at one of Swift’s rainier shows—so packing waterproof layers in your stadium-approved clear bag is key. (I wish I had packed a sweater.)
Ahead, I rounded up a selection of pieces for you to wear to the Eras Tour, broken down by Era. I’ve tried to think of everything: the shoes I’ve selected are known for being comfortable from the first wear. The dresses are comfortable to both sit and move around in. The jackets add warmth when you need them. Plus, many of the pieces below fall in line with some of summer 2023's biggest fashion trends .
Taylor Swift's Debut Album Era
If you’re dying for a debut self-titled album Secret Song at your show, wear something that harkens back to Swift’s first-ever era. This time in her career was defined by pastel blue and green shades, her iconic curling-iron curls, and her country twang. Consider cowboy boots and sweet tulle skirts.
Taylor Swift's 'Fearless' Era
Prefer gold to silver? The Fearless era is for you. This album had it all: Fireworks! A sparkly gold guitar! A gold fringed dress! More was more. To make it work, incorporate gold into your look via a pair of trendy sneakers , a going-out top in the hue, or by wearing a pair of viral gold jeans.
Taylor Swift's 'Speak Now' Era
Speak Now was defined by one color and one color only: A rich purple. It's the color Swift is wearing on the cover of the album, and it's the shade that has stayed attached to the record ever since. Sweet midi dresses and shoes that come in the same shade are go-tos for this era.
Taylor Swift's 'Red' Era
Red makes for an easy outfit because it only requires that you wear one color—red. Swift also went slightly preppy while on tour for the album, opting for a classic Breton striped shirt and red high-waisted denim . No matter which outfit vibe you choose, don’t forget your heart-shaped sunglasses.
Taylor Swift's '1989' Era
1989 is one of the more unique albums in Swift’s discography regarding her looks. While she repped matching sets on tour for the album, she's opted for orange ensembles while on the current Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Era
My personal favorite era as someone who loves to wear all-black, Reputation- inspired outfits are perfect for those who prefer a little drama. From the actual sheer mesh dress I wore to my own concert to a statement-making choker necklace priced at under $50, this era is all about going all-out.
Taylor Swift's 'Lover' Era
If you love playing with color, consider a Lover- era ensemble for your concert. The key colors for this era were bright Barbiecore pink and rich blue, but pastel shades like baby pink and lavender —a trending color for 2023—were also popular. Go all-out with a heart-shaped stencil around your eye, or heart-shaped earrings.
Taylor Swift's 'Folklore' Era
Folklore was a departure from the previous maximalist Lover era. The aesthetic for the album was a combination of woodland fairy and cottagecore. On-stage, this translates to flowing summer dresses in muted shades like olive green. IRL, pair lacy layers with chunky cardigans and sweet Mary Jane shoes.
Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' Era
Cozy-core fans, the Evermore era is for you. Taylor’s second pandemic album was full of woodland references but, unlike its predecessor, the vibe this time around was very much fall-inspired. Flannel dresses, comfy Birkenstock sandals, and other comfy pieces reign supreme. Shades to highlight include marigold yellow and burnt red.
Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' Era
Good thing silver everything is one of 2023’s biggest trends—Taylor is obsessed with the shade for her Midnights era. Her looks from this time in her career are about metallics , drama, and deep shades like navy blue and fushia. If you can’t stop listening to “Karma” or You’re On Your Own Kid,” This one is for you.

All of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Outfits So Far
Taylor Swift is known for planning out her work to the last detail, leaving lots of Easter eggs and special moments for her most avid fans to unpack in her videos and lyrics. For her 2023 Eras Tour across the U.S., Swift is exhibiting that eye for specifics with her clothing, considering the look and feel of each era of her music to fit the incredible looks she dons throughout the night — almost all of which are custom made pieces from her favorite designers. So far Swift has performed in Glendale, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada, debuting new pieces in new places. Some of her looks are repeated, but in different colors.
The pop star clearly plans to have some fun with her fashion while on tour, and will likely change things up as she goes. She has already been throwing “wild card” songs into her set. How long before we get some wild card wardrobe? Check out what Swift has shared on stage so far below.
Under the jacket is a custom Versace bodysuit in iridescent purple, though on the second night, it was a shade of gold.
While singing “Enchanted,” Swift wore another sparkling ensemble, a ball-gown from Nicole + Felicia Couture . The wide skits was covered in flowery appliqués.
On the second, night she had a similar silhouette from up Zuhair Murad Couture in a warm pink with sequins shooting down the skirt from the bodice.
Her black and red asymmetrical bodysuit by Roberto Cavalli was covered in a snake pattern.
In Las Vegas, Swift debuted a beaded Oscar De La Renta custom bodysuit , dancing to “Vigilante Sh*t” with her backup and a very noticeable garter belt in matching royal blue.
For the long performance of“All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version),” Swift was in a sparkling red trench coat over a matching bodysuit and carrying a red guitar.
Bringing back nostalgia for her “22” music video, Swift wore a shirt that red “Not A Lot Going On At The Moment” and a black Gladys Tamez hat. On the second night of the tour, she changed the t-shirt text to read, “Who's Taylor Swift Anyway? Ew.”
Another Roberto Cavalli custom two-piece set in magenta made an appearance.
And she wore an emerald green version of the look the second night, keeping up a pattern of slight variation from performance to performance.
Staying on point with sparkle, she wore a fringed champagne custom Roberto Cavalli dress for shaking around in.
Taking a turn, she wore a dreamy, country-style dress in bright orange from Etro .
During her song “Lavender Haze,” Swift wore another custom Oscar De La Renta covered in iridescent crystals with another piece by the fashion house over it, a beautiful lavender fur coat.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Outfits, from Her Versace Bodysuit to Her Roberto Cavalli Dress
Taylor Swift is channeling looks from her past 10 albums on her Eras Tour. Take a look at her best outfits, including custom pieces from Versace, Roberto Cavalli and more
Taylor Swift is proving she never goes out of "style" with her recent tour.
On March 17, the singer returned to the stage as she kicked off her highly anticipated Eras Tour . From show-stopping performances to creative transitions , the 3-hour and 13-minute set is a true spectacle but one of the best parts is Swift's stunning costumes.
As Swift takes fans through her extensive music catalog with her 44-song setlist , she perfectly pays tribute to her past 10 albums with custom outfits.
While some pieces are inspired by her different eras (the dazzling Versace bodysuit during the opener encapsulates her Lover aesthetic), other looks are direct references to past tours, including her Roberto Cavalli two-piece for her 1989 set and Nicole + Felicia gown for Speak Now .
Take a look at Swift's Eras Tour outfits ahead.
Taylor Swift's Atelier Versace bodysuit for her Lover set
As Swift opened the show with "Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince" from Lover , she wore a custom Atelier Versace bodysuit adorned in pink and blue jewels, reflecting the dreamy pink and blue skies featured on the album's artwork. She paired the look with silver Christian Louboutin knee-high boots and a bedazzled microphone. During her Las Vegas show on March 24, Swift added a flower necklace by Versace to the ensemble.
During her second night of the tour, Swift surprised fans by wearing a completely different sparkling bodysuit. This look, also by Atelier Versace, was covered in blue and gold jewels, with a matching chain necklace and Christian Louboutin knee-high boots.

During her New Jersey show, Swift wore a new bodysuit by Versace, which included fringe tassels and beading. She paired the look with ombré boots and a Versace butterfly necklace, which was a co-design collaboration with Versace ambassador Dua Lipa.
Taylor Swift's Versace blazer for her Lover set
Before singing her hit song " The Man ," Swift completely transformed her look by adding a Versace blazer that complemented her Christian Louboutin knee-high boots.
Taylor Swift's black blazer for her Lover set
In addition to wearing a different Atelier Versace bodysuit during the second night of her tour, Swift also switched up during her performance of "The Man" by wearing a black pinstripe blazer with sequins.
Taylor Swift's Roberto Cavalli dress for her Fearless set
Swift donned her best dress by Roberto Cavalli as she performed a few songs from her album Fearless . The gold fringe dress was reminiscent of a similar look the designer created for her Speak Now Tour in 2011. She paired the look with Christian Louboutin boots and a bedazzled guitar .
For the second night of the tour, Swift donned a different Roberto Cavalli dress, which was slightly longer and featured gold and silver sequins in an ombré pattern.
Taylor Swift's Etro dress for her Evermore set
Swift went for a whimsical look as she performed various songs from her album Evermore in a yellow Etro dress that featured a corset top and beading detail down the front. For her bewitching performance of "Willow" she added a matching Etro cape.
During her New Jersey concert, Swift wore a new dress for her Evermore set, which was created by Marco de Vincenzo for Etro. This dress played into the woodsy nature of the Evermore album with a darker burgundy color and ruffles throughout.
Taylor Swift's Roberto Cavalli catsuit for her Reputation set
Swift slithered into a Roberto Cavalli catsuit as she performed her Reputation set on stage. The outfit, which featured an intricate pattern resembling snakes intertwined down the one long leg of the ensemble, was reminiscent of the many bodysuits Swift wore during her Reputation Stadium Tour as it was covered in black sequins resembling scales.
Taylor Swift's Nicole + Felicia gown for her Speak Now set
Despite only performing one song during her Speak Now set, Swift nonetheless left fans wonderstruck as she donned a Nicole + Felicia gown for her performance of "Enchanted." The gold gown certainly felt like a homage to Swift's Valentino ballgown from her Speak Now Tour.
Taylor Swift's Zuhair Murad gown for her Speak Now set
During night two, Swift looked like a real-life princess as she wore a Zuhair Murad ballgown , this time in a pink hue that popped against the stage's violet lighting.
Taylor Swift's Elie Saab ballgown for her Speak Now set
During the first night of her Tampa concert, Swift wore a new dress for her Speak Now set, dressing up in an Elie Saab Haute Couture silk tulle ballgown embroidered with gardenia-colored organza petals.
In New Jersey, wore another Elie Saab ballgown in a pale pink. The dress also featured lots of tulle and detailing on the front.

Just before announcing 1989 (Taylor's Version) on Aug. 9, Swift donned a blue dress by Nicole + Felicia during her Speak Now set. She continued to wear different blue outfits throughout the concert.
Taylor Swift's Ashish shirt for her Red set
At the beginning of her Red set, Swift recreated her iconic look from her "22" music video, in which she wears a shirt that reads "Not a lot going on at the moment" with a fedora and shorts. For the concert, she made one critical change, dropping the "not" from the T-shirt slogan. The shirt was custom by Ashish paired with Christian Louboutin loafers and a Gladys Tamez hat.
Swift recreated her "22" music video outfit again for night two, thought this time the shirt featured a lyric from the song: "Who's Taylor Swift anyway? Ew."
While performing in Arlington, Texas, Swift wore another version of her "22" shirt, this time with the text "We are never getting back together. Like ever."
Taylor Swift's Ashish romper for her Red set
As Swift moved on to other songs on her Red album, including "I Knew You Were Trouble," she took off her "22" inspired shirt and hat to reveal a sequin Ashish romper in red and black.
Taylor Swift's Ashish coat for her Red set
Swift threw on an Ashish coat over her romper as she performed her 10-minute version of "All Too Well" on stage with a coordinating red guitar.
Taylor Swift's Alberta Ferretti dress for her Folklore set
Swift was back in boho for songs from Folklore , in a flowing lilac Alberta Ferretti gown similar to the dress she wore during her 2021 Grammys performance . She even brought back the Folklore house for the performance.
During night two, Swift wore another Alberta Ferretti dress, this time in an off-white hue covered in crystal embroidery. The gown's flowing, cape-like sleeves were made for twirling.
For her March 24 show in Las Vegas, Swift debuted a third Alberta Ferretti dress as she performed her Folklore set. This dress combined various features from her previous two dresses, with a soft pink hue, cape-like sleeves and sequin details throughout.
During night one in Tampa, Swift wore yet another Alberta Ferretti dress for her Folklore set. This look was in bright green featuring a plunging neckline, mesh detailing and leaves embroideries.
Taylor Swift's Alberta Ferretti dress during her Folklore set
Swift wore a new Alberta Ferretti gown for her Folklore set on Aug. 9, just before announcing 1989 (Taylor's Version) .
Taylor Swift's Roberto Cavalli top and skirt for her 1989 set
Swift recreated one of her memorable 1989 World Tour outfits as she wore a matching Roberto Cavalli top and skirt. The pink set was perfectly paired with dazzling Christian Louboutin boots.
On night two, the star stepped out in a similar beaded matching set by the brand, but this time in a vivid green shade that continued onto her Christian Louboutin boots.
As she performed her 1989 songs, Swift opted for an orange Roberto Cavalli two-piece set with matching Christian Louboutin boots.
Taylor Swift's blue top and skirt for her 1989 set
As she performed her 1989 songs, Swift wore a new variation of her top and skirt set, this time in a striking blue color.
Taylor Swift's Jessica Jones dress for her acoustic set
As Swift performed a few acoustic songs during night one, including "Tim McGraw" from her debut album, she donned a Jessica Jones dress that featured cap sleeves and pleats. The designer has created many of Swift's most iconic looks, including numerous outfits from her Reputation stadium tour and her gold bodysuit at the 2019 American Music Awards when she accepted artist of the decade .
Taylor Swift's green dress for her acoustic set
Swift opted for a similar dress, this time in green, as she performed alongside Marcus Mumford for her acoustic set in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 25.
Taylor Swift's yellow dress for her acoustic set

As Swift started wearing her orange Roberto Cavalli two-piece set with matching Christian Louboutin boots for her 1989 set, she began wearing a yellow dress on top of her outfit as she performed her acoustic set.
Taylor Swift's blue dress for her acoustic set
During the last leg of her U.S. tour, Swift donned a blue dress for the special announcement of 1989 (Taylor's Version) , which she debuted the album cover art for on stage. She followed up by playing the hit "New Romantics" from the album.
Taylor Swift's Oscar de la Renta t-shirt and jacket for her Midnights set
For the beginning of her Midnights set, Swift wore a similar look to the one seen in her "Lavender Haze" music video as she paired an Oscar de la Renta crystal t-shirt with an Oscar de la Renta faux fur coat.
Taylor Swift's Oscar de la Renta bodysuit for her Midnights set
As she performed "Midnight Rain," Swift did a quick costume change on stage as she took off her Oscar de la Renta t-shirt to reveal an Oscar de la Renta bodysuit. The outfit, which was in the perfect shade of (what else?) midnight blue, was bejeweled with various beading throughout giving it the appearance of a midnight sky. She paired the look with matching Christian Louboutin boots.
Taylor Swift's Zuhair Murad bodysuit for her Midnights set
For her March 24 show in Las Vegas, Swift switched up her Midnights outfit with a custom look by Zuhair Murad. The midnight blue bodysuit was covered in blue crystals and beaded fringes and even had a matching garter.
During her Los Angeles shows, Swift debuted a new bodysuit by Zuhair Murad for her Midnights set, which was fittingly in midnight blue bodysuit and "adorned with shimmering crystal embellishments, cascading intricate beaded fringes, and accompanied by a coordinating garter," per Zuhair Murad's Instagram .

Taylor Swift and the Sparkling Trap of Constant Reinvention
Why do our female pop stars have to keep changing their clothes?
- Share full article
By Vanessa Friedman
Oscar de la Renta. Versace. Alberta Ferretti. Roberto Cavalli. Elie Saab. Christian Louboutin. Zuhair Murad. Ashish. The list of the designers who have made looks for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour , which began just over a month ago in Arizona and ends in California in August before heading overseas, is like a mini-tour of fashion weeks, replete with sparkles, chiffon and a message tee.
The resulting dress-up extravaganza has been greeted, not surprisingly, with heart-thumping enthusiasm. So many clothes! So much glitter! So fun! There are pages of stories online breathlessly documenting “Every Outfit Taylor Swift Has Worn on Her Eras World Tour” (as Elle Australia put it). And new styles keep emerging, enabling new coverage. As if sheer wardrobe abundance is an achievement unto itself.
It’s possible it is. The logistics alone are daunting: How do you change that much, and that fast, while in the middle of a performance?
Certainly it has raised the bar for the artists who are touring next, as we enter the Summer of the Diva: Madonna , who is embarking on a retrospective tour (just imagine the looks that one could involve), and Beyoncé, who set the bar sky-high in August when she dropped a teaser of sorts via the “I’m That Girl” trailer, which involved at least seven looks compressed into a few minutes, from cyborg goddess to cowboy dominatrix to killer Audrey Hepburn.
But it’s also possible to see in all these Swiftian clothes, all the wardrobe switcheroos, something else. It’s possible that they are, actually, not just a tour down memory lane but a more pointed piece of meta-commentary on the expectation that female pop stars unveil new versions of themselves for our viewing pleasure, one-upping their old image with new wardrobes ad infinitum. And a message that Ms. Swift is, perhaps, calling time on the whole thing.
The promise of reinvention is a core American value: the belief that everyone has the right to a fresh start, that you are limited only by your imagination and abilities. It’s intrinsically linked to the promise of fashion, which likewise dangles the lure of a new you; of allowing you to try on different selves until you settle into one that feels right.
Yet it is also its own kind of prison, as Ms. Swift, who has made a habit of embedding meaning into her wardrobe choices, said in her 2020 documentary, “ Miss Americana .”
“The female artists that I know of have reinvented themselves 20 times more than the male artists,” she says in a voice-over toward the end of the film, as various versions of her public personas flash by: teenage Taylor, with her gold ringlets, sparkly blue eye shadow and princess dresses; “1989” Taylor, with her ironed bob and glittery bodysuits; “Reputation” angry Taylor, with snakes crawling up her limbs.
This is necessary, Ms. Swift continues, because otherwise “you’re out of a job.”
At the time she was talking about her newfound political voice as well as her new album, “Lover” (now three albums and at least two Taylors ago: the earth nymph Taylor of “Folklore” and “Evermore,” and the dreamer Taylor of “Midnights”). But in many ways, what she meant is laid bare (so to speak) in her Eras Tour.
Each musical era revisited in the show had — and has — its own look, all 10 or so of them. To watch her go through them in succession is to see not just fabulous clothes worn with purpose, but also the hamster wheel of constant reinvention that has been the model for contemporary female pop stars since Madonna set the tone in the 1980s.
It’s particularly stark in comparison with another musical act now touring to similar response and acclaim: Bruce Springsteen. Mr. Springsteen is 73, and his style hasn’t changed much in 50 years. He’s still in beat-up jeans and a denim shirt, bracelets around his wrist, boots on his feet.
To be fair, there are male rock stars who have made a game out of reinvention: most notably David Bowie but also, to a certain extent, Harry Styles (though he generally dons one statement outfit per night). And there are women — Lucinda Williams, Patti Smith — who bucked the trend.
But it is also true, said Kathy Iandoli, an adjunct professor at the New York University Steinhardt School and the author of “God Save the Queens: The Essential History of Women in Hip-Hop,” that the pressure to dress up and change up falls exponentially on women. “1,000 percent,” Ms. Iandoli said. “There’s a level of costuming that comes with being a female pop star, a way for labels to market creativity. And if you are known as an evolutionary artist you are always held to the standard of ‘what’s the next version of you?’”
Ms. Swift has turned that pressure to her own ends as cannily as anyone. Her makeovers, which coincide with her sonic evolutions, are not the same as the makeover imposed on the main character in the Lady Gaga version of “A Star Is Born,” in which studio bigwigs force their latest discovery into Creamsicle hair, new outfits and new dance moves — a ginned-up version of herself she rejects after her husband’s death.
By contrast, Ms. Swift (with her stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer) has been her own wardrobe mistress, and her fans, many of whom show up dressed as their favorite Taylor, can relate.
But even Gaga, a master of the fashion-music makeover, seemingly rebelled against the imperative at this year’s Oscars when, rather than change into yet another showstopping gown for her performance, she subverted all expectations by donning ripped jeans and a black T-shirt and scrubbing her face bare, as if to say to the watching world: enough.
Fernando Garcia, a creative director of Oscar de la Renta, which made a lavender faux-fur coat with matching crystal-embroidered T-shirt dress and a midnight-blue, crystal-embroidered jumpsuit for the current tour, said that working with Ms. Swift on Eras felt “very much like a full circle moment.” If so, perhaps it’s also a sign that another era is coming to an end.
At one point in the Eras show, when Ms. Swift is singing “Look What You Made Me Do,” all of the old Taylors are embodied by different backup dancers in different outfits in different little glass boxes — all those mini-mes of the past, trapped in their own limited spaces, in their old wardrobes, only to finally break free .
As fashion metaphors go, it’s hard to miss.
An earlier version of a picture caption with this article misidentified the location of the opening night of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. It was in Glendale, Ariz., not Arlington, Texas.

Who designs Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour outfits?
Taylor has been bringing out the big guns for her global tour. Notable designers include Fausto Puglisi who heads up Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli. Fausto describes himself as a Sicilian maverick. He designed 12 of the looks from Taylor’s Eras shows, including the skintight snake catsuit from the Reputation era, and the gold-fringed minidress from her Fearless era.

And Taylor isn’t the only superstar he has dressed – J-Lo and Zendaya have also had the honour. He also designed the cape that Madonna wore on her Madame X album.
Another designer that has been tapped by Taylor for her stage costumes is Donatella Versace. The legendary designer was the mastermind behind Taylor’s bejewelled bodysuits that feature in the Lover section of her shows.
And rounding off the Lover looks are a pair of custom-made, jewel-encrusted, knee-high boots from none other than Christian Louboutin. With their signature red soles, Louboutins are the footwear of choice for the rich, famous and impeccably dressed.

Italian dressmaker Alberta Ferretti also has a starring role on the Eras Tour. Her ethereal and dreamy gowns complements the Folklore section of Taylor’s shows completely.
Taylor has also selected a number of lesser-known names to wear alongside fashion powerhouses like Oscar de la Renta and Ellie Saab. Indie designer Anish Gupta created the sequin slogan T-shirts emblazoned with her iconic lyrics “WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER, LIKE EVER”
And with that impressive list of designers, we couldn't resist the urge to round up all the Eras Tour stage ensembles she's worn so far, check out all the Taylor tour looks (as well as her newest additions)...
Taylor Swift opens with the Lover era
Taylor starts the beginning of every show looking drop-dead gorgeous in a custom Versace sequined bodysuit and sparkly Louboutin heels, setting the bar high for the rest of the concert's wardrobe!

- 'The Man'
- 'You Need to Calm Down'

Taylor's 'Evermore' and 'Folklore' dresses are a boho dream
Taylor brought the 'evermore' record alive when she donned a whimsical burnt yellow dress that seemed like it leapt straight from the stories of her folky album.

Taylor brings the 'Speak Now' fairytale vibes to The Eras Tour
It may have been short but sweet but Taylor made quite the impact with the one song she chose to sing from the 'Speak Now' record.
Her fairytale-esque dresses are back for The Eras Tour as she belts out fan-favourite track 'Enchanted' whilst wearing a sequinned ball gown fit for a princess!
The gowns are strikingly similar to the Valentino one she wore during the 'Speak Now' tour back in 2012.
Taylor is the 1989 pop princess all over again
Swift gave us another blast from the past with 1989 World Tour references whilst she sang the likes of 'Style', 'Shake It Off' and 'Bad Blood'.

What 200 Swifties Wore to an Eras Show
Sometimes, a place that draws a specific kind of crowd — from a sample sale to an office lunch spot — can yield a wealth of shopping intel. What are these like-minded people all into right now? What sneakers are they wearing? What is that pants brand? For the inaugural edition of People Watching, we posted up at Penn Station ahead of Taylor Swift’s first Eras tour show at MetLife Stadium.
Wherever Taylor Swift’s Eras tour goes, a flurry of sequins follows. But what color sequins? And for which era? And what about all the cowboy boots? The tour made a three-night stop in town during Memorial Day weekend, so on Friday, May 26, I headed to Penn Station, hoping to glean some insight from the crush of concertgoers commuting to MetLife Stadium via NJ Transit. The show’s official start time was 6:30 p.m., so I arrived at the atrium at 4 and lingered among Swifties excitedly checking their phones and outfits, chatting with many of them about their knee-high cowboy boots, Shein crop tops, and the Advil and hair ties stuffed into their clear stadium bags. Here’s what I learned.
The unofficial Eras tour uniform is, obviously, a fun dress + cowboy boots
The combination leaves lots of room for interpretation, depending on which era they wanted to rep. Concertgoers went Fearless glam in fringed flapper dresses; Reputation edgy in tight leather; Lover romantic in puffy organza; and Folklore cottagecore in corseted Renaissance looks. This dreamy Selkie number I saw someone wearing was definitely a nod to Lover .
Final sequins + sparkles count: 67
From sequined dresses to shimmery eye shadow, pretty much every Swiftie was sporting some sort of sparkle. I counted nearly 70 people wearing rhinestones, sequins, or glitter, and I probably missed a lot more. “My friend who went to the Atlanta concert told me she felt left out because she didn’t have sparkles on, so she told me to make sure my outfit had them,” said one fan. These emerald sequined shorts worn by another were a reference to Swift’s serpentine Reputation era.
Final rainbow count: 11
Most memorable was this rainbow-fringe jacket that can pull double duty for Pride.
Final cowboy-boot count: 34
I saw several people wearing this tall white pair.
Though fans with floor tickets were wearing sneakers
Among those planning to fight their way to the front pit, white sneakers overwhelmingly won out. “Nah, nah to the cowboy boots,” said one fan. “We’re about to go into battle. Sneakers only.” I noticed both Nike AF1s and Vejas in the crowd.
I saw two people in this Shein top
It comes in 12 colors, but both had it in hot pink.
Colorful jumpsuits abounded
Especially in shades of pink and purple. Someone wearing a lilac Big Bud Press jumpsuit immediately caught my eye, since I own the same one.
Finishing touches included hats and lots of butterflies …
I saw a lot of cowboy hats with what I’ll call a “fun flair,” like this pink one with feathers — and it comes with heart sunglasses, another staple in the crowd. There were also lots of classic black fedoras from the Red era and countless butterfly clips and accessories (a recurring motif for Swift ).
… plus full sleeves of DIY friendship bracelets
Many fans bought bead kits online and crafted bracelets in the weeks before the show. A sampling of what I saw: “GAYLOR,” “WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA,” “KARMA IS A GOD,” “SCREAMING CRYING,” “SPEAK NOW (TV),” “OUR SONG,” “NYC ERA,” “I’M ON SOME NEW SHIT,” “BETTER THAN REVENGE,” “SUPERSTAR,” “BAD BLOOD,” “F JOHN MAYER,” “F’D IN THE HEAD,” “BITCH NOT A BALLER,” “CHECKMATE,” “SEXY BABY.”
Lover was the most represented album …
“I feel like the Lover era is the easiest to re-create with things you already have, because it’s just bright colors and sequins,” one person told me. Another paired rhinestone tights with this simple Lover necklace.
… closely followed by Midnights
“I went for a little celestial moment,” said one fan about her blue velvet top and moon-and-star accessories.
The best clear bags had a chain strap
I saw dozens of people carrying this one, which looks more like a purse but aligns with clear-bags-only stadium guidelines. Clear backpacks and cross-bodies were also very well represented (fanny packs less so).
In their clear bags, people were bringing:
Male Swifties wore pastel button-downs
Lots of pink, lavender, and sky blue, paired with white shorts or overalls.
Dillydalliers had to settle for whatever would ship quickly from Amazon
Multiple people I talked to ended up scrambling because the products they ordered didn’t arrive in time for the concert, or they just procrastinated too long, so they had to grab something last minute, like this generic lyric shirt.
I saw a lot of “ Not a Lot Going on at the Moment ” shirts
It was an ironic pronouncement for one fan, who recently had a baby.

The tickets are secured, and the outfits are ready. Taylor Swift is in town, and for thousands of fans, no detail has been spared.
As the 12-time Grammy winner arrives at Gillette Stadium for the first of three sold-out performances on her Eras Tour, Swifties are descending on Foxborough en masse, dressed in their Taylor-best.
The Eras Tour is itself a showcase of Swift’s evolving style and sound over her career. Colors and themes from albums, including “Fearless,” “Evermore,” “Speak Now,” “Reputation,” and “Lover,” among others, will wash over the stadium and all roads leading to it.
Fans flood the stadium with pink and glitter looks in nothing short of a fashion show. Here are some of the best looks we’ve seen so far, from cowgirl hats to cheerleading outfits:

The best and most daring looks Taylor Swift wore in 2023
- Taylor Swift had a huge year in 2023 with her Eras Tour, the release of multiple albums, and a film.
- It was also a standout time for her red-carpet fashion, performance outfits, and street style.
- Her best looks included black gowns, daring bodysuits, and countless sparkles.
Taylor Swift made her first fashionable appearance of the year at the 2023 Grammys.
Swift sparkled on the red carpet in Roberto Cavalli. Her outfit included a silk long-sleeved crop top and a high-waisted, mermaid-style skirt — both in shades of midnight blue.
The two pieces were cut by hand and embellished with silver Swarovski crystals, which mirrored "an explosion of stars all over," according to a post on the designer's Instagram page.
She then kicked off the Eras Tour in March while wearing a sparkling, corseted bodysuit.
Versace designed the multicolored garment, which was embellished from top to bottom with a mix of beads and crystals in blue, pink, purple, and silver shades.
Swift wears the piece during her shows with bedazzled Christian Louboutin boots.
Some of Swift's best looks in the show are the flowing gowns she wears to perform songs from "Folklore."
Swift has sported a variety of "Folklore" dresses during the Eras Tour, including a green leaf-patterned one with a bodice cutout and a lilac gown with ruffled edges.
But one of her best is the most understated: a cream-colored Alberta Ferretti gown with flowing split sleeves, a tiered skirt, and subtle sparkles.
And some of her most daring are the blue bodysuits she wears with matching garters.
Fashion house Oscar de la Renta designed one of Swift's original blue bodysuits, which she wears to perform songs from "Midnights."
The sleeveless piece was made over the course of 315 hours with 5,300 hand-embroidered crystals and beads.
She later wore another, almost-identical suit from Zuhair Murad , and then a third one with bedazzled cutouts from the same designer.
Fashion psychologist Carolyn Mair told Insider that the garters Swift pairs the bodysuits with can "invoke feelings of empowerment and body positivity for the wearer, and often symbolizes sensuality, intimacy, and a romantic commitment."
In June, Swift mixed a bunch of classic pieces to create a cute, simple look.
She wore a pinstripe shirt from The Row over a pleated Free People skort, and she paired both pieces with a baseball cap, lace-up oxford shoes, and a Patou purse.
The outfit showed the preppier side of Swift's street style .
She then attended the MTV Video Music Awards in a daring Versace dress with an asymmetrical neckline.
The custom gown had thin straps embellished with the fashion house's signature gold hardware and a matching row of buttons that extended down its bodice.
The dress also had a sweetheart neckline and a thigh-high slit in its skirt.
But her after-party dress rivaled her red-carpet one.
The EB Denim minidress , which retails for $480, had a corseted bodice and raw-hem skirt both in varying shades of blue.
It was styled to perfection with silver platform sandals, a $31,675 choker from Anita Ko, vintage necklaces from Joseph Saidian and Sons, and a $15,000 ring from Van Cleef and Arpels.
To kick off the fall season, Swift stepped out in September wearing a burnt-orange sweater dress and luxury accessories.
The Reformation dress is one of Swift's more affordable pieces of the year, retailing for $98 online.
She paired it with $448 crocodile-skin boots from the same brand, a green Luana Italy purse, and various gold jewelry — creating the ultimate autumn outfit that's both casual and chic.
She took the same approach to an athleisure look in October, mixing casual-looking pieces with designer duds.
The highlight of Swift's New York City outfit was her Shania Twain T-shirt, which was created by music-inspired clothing brand Daydreamer and retails for $88 online.
She wore it with black bike shorts, $349 New Balance x Ganni sneakers , and a $3,450 Louis Vuitton purse .
Twain later said it was "really cool" that Swift wore her face on a T-shirt and noted that she feels like her aunt.
For her first public date night with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, Swift wore a chic black-and-gold ensemble.
Under an $825 houndstooth coat from Gant , Swift sported a Versace corset top and high-waisted trousers. She also carried a $340 Aupen bag and wore a $70 gold necklace from Mazin Jewels .
The outfit is one of two that prove Swift and Kelce already have the perfect fall-ready couple style .
Ahead of releasing "1989 (Taylor's Version)," Swift was photographed in New York City wearing one of her coolest outfits of the year.
Her recent look included an $850 rugby shirt from Stella McCartney that's emblazoned with a golden horse design, standout Prada boots in a deep-red shade, and a corduroy hat from Ralph Lauren.
She supported Beyoncé by attending her concert film premiere and stunned in a silver gown.
Balmain designed Swift's sleeveless dress, which had a floor-length skirt with a tall slit and a rosette attached at the neckline.
In keeping with the gown's glamorous aesthetic, Swift completed the look with black Giuseppe Zanotti sandal heels, a wavy hairstyle, and her signature red lipstick.
She kept things classic while visiting New York City to attend a "Poor Things" screening alongside her friend Emma Stone.
Swift sported a sleeveless black dress from The Row, a Charlotte Simone faux fur coat, and the same black heels she wore to watch Beyoncé's movie.
Her purse also stood out. Designed by Naeem Khan , the metallic clutch depicted the constellation of Swift's birth sign Sagittarius.
Swift went with another celestial outfit on her birthday.
Her black, sparkle-covered dress was designed by Clio Peppiatt and was bedazzled with a silver moon and stars. Swift wore it with a fuzzy Anine Bing jacket, a silver Aquazzura bag, and platform heels.
She also donned a massive teardrop-shaped ring made from opal and blue topaz stones. While many assumed the jewelry was a gift from Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, it was revealed to have been a birthday present from Keleigh Teller , Swift's friend and Miles Teller's wife.

For those that know Taylor Swift fans “All Too Well,” you know that Eras Tour ticket holders will have “Enchanted” and “Bejeweled” outfits for the upcoming shows — especially after we saw the way Swifties showed up and showed out for the first leg of the tour.
The Eras Tour began on March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. After traversing the continental United States, Mexico, areas of South America, and Asia, Swift is about to spend her summer touring all over Europe before returning stateside for a run of shows and finally bringing the tour to the Great White North.
In addition to being a crazy-long stadium tour, the Eras Tour is unique in that songs from every Taylor Swift album will be played (and our fingers are crossed that “TTPD” makes its Eras debut this weekend!), inspiring fans to dress up to match their favorite albums — Taylor’s Version, of course.
And make sure you don’t forget the “13”s! Swift’s lucky number used to feature heavily in her tour costumes, and while she doesn’t write the number on her hand before every show anymore, fans definitely still are.
We love this temporary tattoo from Etsy that you can get in colors to match whichever era you’ve chosen for your outfit — it made the perfect compliment to our own Eras tour ‘fits.

‘Taylor Swift ‘
Madewell sidonie poplin maxi dress , $99, original price: $128.
Bring it all the way back to the beginning with a white dress that evokes the fresh and new Taylor from the self-titled album cover. Make it complete with bouncy curls and the accessories below.
OBTANIM Butterfly Hair Clips
Add a few of these butterfly hairclips and you will look just like the Taylor Swift album cover, or use them for almost any of the other eras down below — looking at you “Fearless” or “Lover.”
Coconuts Legend Cowboy Boot
A debut-era outfit simply isn’t complete without some cowgirl boots!
Super Sweet Light Blue Smocked Ruffled Tie-Back Mini Dress
If any other color defines debut era than white, it’s light blue. The length of this dress is perfect to show off your cowboy boots and dance all night long.
‘Fearless’
Lightinthebox party fringe dress.
I don’t know how it gets better than this dress, which is dripping in sequins and fits the color scheme of “Fearless” perfectly.
Junior Jewels Essential T-Shirt
So we all know one of the top songs on this album is “You Belong With Me,” right? Grab this shirt and some sharpies, and then pair with these glasses and you are good to go.
Sequin Ruffle Mini Dress
Dripping in gold sequins, this mini dress from Forever 21 also has a lace-up front — it’s very “Love Story.”
‘Speak Now’
Fringe trim bodycon sequin cami dress.
Maybe you’d rather have your “Speak Now” look evoke the tour that followed the album. In that case, you’ll want to be dripping in gold sequins and fringe. You can also snag the dress in plus sizes , up to a 4X.
Square Neck Bowknot Ruffle Hem Tulle Tiered Mini Dress
Perhaps you want to go with something inspired by the ballet vibes of the “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” album artwork instead — this Cider dress will definitely do the trick.
Suzie Tulle Tiered Dress
If your favorite Taylor look from the first leg of The Eras Tour is the “Speak Now” cupcake dress, this Francesca’s minidress is giving all the cupcake vibes in a much shorter silhouette that’s better suited to dancing the night away.
‘Red’
Abercrombie oversized poplin button-up shirt , $45.
Tuck in this white button down into leather shorts and you have the perfect yet simple Swift outfit — just how she likes to dress herself.
Women’s Felt Panama Hats
Last, add this black cap and you have the “Red” outfit of Taylor’s “Wildest Dreams” — see what we did there? Bonus points, as the hat has a bright red lining underneath for a pop of the singer’s signature color.
“A Lot Going On At The Moment” Shirt
We don’t know about you, but we’re definitely feeling “22” in this T-shirt and black sequined shorts , just like the ones Swift wears to open the “Red” set.
Customizable Era Tour Sunglasses
This Etsy shop actually customizes heart-shaped sunglasses in different colors with whatever eras/words/lyrics you’d like — but we think these fit the “Red” era best!
‘1989’
Skinny tees women’s solid bandeau in orange.
Taylor’s outfit at the 2016 Grammys , where she took home Album of the Year for “1989,” is among her most memorable ever. You can start recreating it here, with this orange bandeau top.
Daily Adoration Hot Pink Linen High-Waisted Midi Skirt
Complete the Grammys look with a hot pink midi skirt.
1989 Taylor Swift Seagull Sweatshirt
An obvious choice for a 1989-era look is the sweatshirt Taylor is wearing on the album cover, tied together with one of Taylor’s favorite red lipsticks, Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick in Elson .
Khrizza Sequin Diamond Mesh Cropped Cami Top and Mini Skirt
If you want to wear a “1989” outfit inspired by the one Swift wears on stage night after night, this Showpo set is a pretty close dupe!
American Trend Women’s Metallic Skirt
“Shake it off” with this skirt, so you can replicate one of Taylor’s most memorable 1989 World Tour outfits. Pair it with a black sequined crop top for the full look.
‘reputation’
Thistle and spire medusa bodysuit.
Anything snake-related is perfect for the “Reputation” album, especially when it is as sexy as this bodysuit. The sheer Thistle and Spire suit can be found at Revolve, with a stretchy mesh construction in sizes XS through Large.
Showpo Stunning View Maxi Dress
Embrace the dark with this mysterious “Reputation” outfit. It comes in many sizes to fit most body types and can be layered over your favorite bodysuit or dress for the full, fierce fit.
Bestyle Vintage Black Snake Ring
No matter what your Rep look is, it won’t be complete without this snake ring. In black, of course.
Taylor Swift-Inspired ‘reputation’ Newsprint Crop
Ditch the snake motif for something more inspired by the album cover — this crop tank features an all-over newsprint, just like “reputation.”
‘Lover ‘
Lason rhinestone sheer fringe bodysuit.
If you want to splurge on your Eras Tour ‘fit, why not go for a recreation of one of Swift’s “Lover” bodysuits in the gold and purple variant she wore occasionally throughout the first leg of the tour.
Pleat the Way Blue and Pink Ombre Pleated Romper
It’s been a long time coming… the ombré color scheme of this romper from Lulus perfectly captures the colors of the “Lover” set at the Eras Tour.
Essnce Plus Tie Dye Tee Dress
“This is actually the dress I wore to my Eras show last May,” said Angela Tricarico , a commerce writer/reporter for Decider.com. “‘Lover’ has been my favorite era since it dropped and the fun tie-dye colors reminded me of an outfit Taylor wore while promoting the album.”
Show Me Your Mumu Dance Blazer
Show me your sparkles! This Show Me Your Mumu blazer is a perfect piece for any Era, but we love it for lover. Pair it with the matching top for even more magic.
Betsey Johnson Rodeo Rhinestones Over-the-Knee Boots
No matter what “Lover” outfit you go with, complete it with these boots.
‘folklore ‘ and ‘evermore’
Shein plus cable knit lantern sleeve cardigan.
Since the actual “folklore” sweater is sold out, you can always make your own! Get this basic sweater from Shein and then hit up the craft store for star appliqués to sew or iron on the sleeves.
Secret Garden Corset Mini Dress
Visually, “folklore” and “evermore” evoke cottagecore imagery. This dress features a floral corset and a flowy crepe skirt — perfect for Betty’s party.
KevaMolly Plaid Long Sleeve Shirt in Orange Navy
The “evermore” album cover features Swift in a similarly colored flannel coat. If you’re going for an oversized look with this, size up one or two sizes.
Wren Mini Dress
This mini dress is a sleeveless dupe for the one Swift wore to accept her third Album of the Year Grammy for “folklore.”
Zhitunemi Renaissance Costume Dress
If you just can’t get enough of Swift’s “evermore” set dresses, this gold maxi dress is a great option, especially if you bedazzle it.
Free People Bring the Romance Handkerchief Hem Maxi Dress
If you prefer a dress that looks straight out of the “folklore” set, this Free People maxi might be the one for you.
‘Midnights’
Charmian bejeweled corset top.
Best believe we’re still “Bejeweled” in this corset top. Pair it with your favorite high waisted black shorts to recreate Taylor’s look from the music video .
Metallic Tiered Tinsel Fringe Jacket and Shorts
“Karma” is… this glittery tinsel fringe set that matches the jackets Swift and all of her dancers put on for the Eras Tour finale number.
Show Me Your Mumu Lets Go Mini Dress
What’s more “Midnights” than literal stars and moons? This sequin dress is a showstopper, and will look amazing as you shimmy and shake at the concert.
HYLLGUD Women Sequin Dress
Stay in that “Lavender Haze” with a perfectly “Midnights”-era T-shirt dress covered in all-over purple sequins. To finish off the look, of course, you’ll need a fuzzy purple coat .
‘The Tortured Poets Department’
Popflex pirouette skirt.
Shop Swift’s very own “lilac short skirt, the one that fits [her] like skin” from Popflex, perfect for American Swifties since this is a preorder and won’t arrive until later this summer.
The Black Dog Graphic Sweatshirt
Style your Eras Tour ‘fit around a crewneck or graphic tee inspired by a standout track on “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Halara Breezeful High Waisted 2-in-1 Skirt
An oversized graphic crewneck or tee would go perfectly with this skort from Halara, which Swift sported at Coachella earlier this year and perfectly ties into the “TTPD” aesthetic.
House of CB Chicca Square Neck Corset Top
This is another Swift-loved top that would fit right in with the visual aesthetic of “The Tortured Poets Department.”
The Ellie Nap Dress
An icon of the day-to-night look, the Ellie Nap Dress would be right at home in an Eras Tour crowd. This black cotton midi is close to one of Swift’s looks in the “Fortnight” music video without the billowing sleeves.

Taylor Swift Tells Fans to ‘Talk Amongst Yourselves’ as She Handles ‘Eras Tour’ Wardrobe Malfunction
It turns out, not even Taylor Swift is immune to wardrobe malfunctions.
The 34-year-old singer paused her performance on Sunday, May 19 — night three of her Eras Tour stint in Stockholm — to take care of a minor clothing mishap.
“Just talk amongst yourselves,” she told the audience in a TikTok video posted by a fan on Monday, May 20.
Swift then walked across the stage to her piano bench before undoing her blue wrap dress, revealing a sparkly gold bra underneath. The crowd cheered as she struggled with the fabric. With the help of a crew member, who quickly appeared on the scene, Swift managed to resolve the issue with her dress. She threw her head back laughing before securing the dress back on and turning her attention to the piano keyboard to perform “How Did It End,” track 21 of her new album “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Swift’s Eras Tour — sometimes affectionately dubbed the “Errors Tour” by fans — has been filled with countless funny accidents, both sartorially speaking and otherwise. Unsurprisingly, the singer has handled each one with grace and humor.
At the Eras Tour in Rio de Janeiro in November 2023, the bottom of Swift’s Christian Louboutin boots’ heel broke . Instead of letting this affect her performance, she maintained a big smile while tearing off the broken heel and throwing it into the crowd for a lucky fan to catch. Swift then balanced on the ball of her foot — much like Barbie, or Gisele Bunchden in Givenchy’s spring/summer 2000 show — and continued to sing until she was able to change shoes.
After wrapping up the U.S. leg of her tour in August 2023, Swift is now making her way through Europe (her next stop is in Lisbon, where she will perform on May 24 and May 25).

Taylor Swift debuts red and yellow outfit with Chiefs' Travis Kelce in the audience for 87th Eras Tour show
Taylor Swift hit a milestone on her record-breaking “Eras Tour”: her 87th show.
Fittingly, No. 87 was in the crowd.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce attended Swift’s fourth and final concert in Paris on May 12 , which officially kicked off the European leg of her tour and marked the first shows featuring songs from her 11th album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Kelce was spotted in the crowd dancing along to Swift’s hits with Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid.
One of those songs was “So High School,” a song from “Tortured Poets” that is thought to be about Kelce . Before she performed the song on May 12, fans filmed Swift blowing a kiss up into the crowd.
In videos posted to social media, Kelce can be seen rocking along, pointing from his eyes to Swift while she sang, “Every time I look at you.”
Taylor Nation responded to a concertgoer’s tweet about their “Eras Tour” outfits with a reference to “So High School.” The X user shared pics of one attendee in a Chiefs No. 87 jersey and another in Swift’s cheerleader uniform from “Shake It Off.”
“One knows how to ball, one knows Aristotle,” Taylor Nation tweeted.
Swift first performed “So High School” on May 9, and fans immediately noticed the set design seemingly referenced a football game setting, with flood lights onscreen and a set of bleachers.
The choreography appeared to include a “swag surf,” a celebratory dance move often done at major sporting events, including Chiefs games. Swift and Donna Kelce’s participation in a swag surf at a playoff game in January notably went viral.
Then during her surprise set , when she plays a song on acoustic guitar and piano, Swift acknowledged that this her 87th “Eras Tour” show . On guitar, she performed a mashup of “The Alchemy,” a “Tortured Poets” song overflowing with football imagery, and “Treacherous.” On piano, she played a mashup of “Begin Again” and “Paris.”
Swift also debuted a new outfit during her “1989” era May 12, a sparkly yellow top and bright red skirt. Fans immediately clocked the apparent reference to the Chiefs’ official colors.
Taylor Nation responded to a tweet about the outfit , writing, “It’s the 87th show,” confirming the possible connection to the Chiefs, and specifically their star tight end.
At the end of the concert, Swift kept up her tradition of changing the lyrics to her finale song, “Karma.”
Since Kelce first attended an “Eras Tour” show in November, when the tight end is in the crowd, instead of “Karma is the guy on the screen,” Swift sings, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs.”

So long, Liverpool. Ahead of Taylor Swift ‘s upcoming Eras Tour shows, the English city is now known as “Taylor Town.”
The city is currently in the process of unveiling a temporary makeover to prepare for the pop star’s three performances slated for June 13-15 at Anfield Stadium, starting with the tailored — or should we say, Tay-lored — name change. Plus, local creatives are designing 11 individual art installations inspired by each of Swift’s studio albums to form a “Taylor Town Trail,” including a playable moss-covered grand piano representing Evermore , a “red room” encapsulating Red and a Fearless mural based on the singer’s lucky number, 13.

The city is also planning a series of ticketed craft workshops — aka Liverpool Loves Taylor (Craft Version) — where fans can make origami pieces that will be added to one of the 11 main art installations. Participants will also be able to work on homemade Swif-tee shirts, collages and cupcakes inspired by the “Anti-Hero” singer.

The University of Liverpool is getting involved, too, by hosting a free “Tay Day” symposium for academics, students and fans to “unpack the cultural phenomenon that is Taylor Swift,” according to the city council’s notice. “The event will include critical karaoke sessions, where researchers perform their findings to some of Taylor’s biggest hits and a series of interactive talks on subjects including her song lyrics, her award-winning albums and her place in feminism and the LGBTQ+ community.”
Liverpool is just the latest Eras Tour locale to go all out ahead of Swift’s arrival. For instance, Glendale, Ariz., temporarily changed its name to “Swift City” in lieu of the 14-time Grammy winner’s kickoff show there in spring 2023, while Rio de Janeiro projected the image of a Taylor-themed T-shirt onto its iconic Christ the Redeemer statue in November.

Erin Andrews takes credit yet again for Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce after Patrick Mahomes calls himself ‘matchmaker’

Erin Andrews reminded fans that she helped encourage Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to start dating after Patrick Mahomes said he’d also like “some of the credit.”
Andrews and her “Calm Down” podcast co-host Charissa Thompson appeared on Thursday’s episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” where Thompson insisted they “are responsible” for the match.
“He had mentioned on his podcast that he went to the show, wanted to meet her afterwards, didn’t get the chance to, so we just started talking about it on our podcast saying, ‘Taylor, do this for America! Date him!'” Andrews said.
The Fox Sports broadcaster, 46, gushed that Kelce is “not ugly” and recalled his “Saturday Night Live” skit where he “lifted up other girls so they could get the feeling of what it was like to date a big strong man.”
“So we’re like, ‘Taylor, go!'” Andrews continued.
Thompson added that they were “advocating early on” for the two to date, and he eventually acknowledged their help by writing on social media, “I owe you guys big time.”
“Of course, everyone gives us credit. We’ll take the credit, but I just love both of them, and I’m so happy to see them happy,” Thompson said.
Shortly after the Kansas City Chiefs athlete and the Grammy winner, both 34, made their relationship public last fall , Kelce gave a shoutout to Andrews and Thompson by posting a throwback video from their podcast where they encouraged Swift to date Kelce.
“You two are something else!! I owe you big time!!” he wrote over the Instagram Story in October.

In the podcast clip, Andrews begged Swift to “please try [their] friend Travis” and gushed that he’s a “fantastic” person.
“[Taylor] I know we’re not the best of friends, we’re not even friends, but I consider you one. Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy,” Andrews said in the August 2023 episode.
Andrews doubled down on connecting the A-Listers just hours after Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes said that he’d like a thank you from Kelce and Swift, as well.
“I like to take some of the credit. I was the one who invited Travis to his first Taylor concert. He was sitting in my suite so I feel like I was the matchmaker,” Mahomes said on Thursday’s episode of the “Pat McAfee Show.”
The quarterback was referring to Kelce attending Swift’s Eras Tour concert in July 2023 where he famously tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it but failed .
“I had some input in there as well. I was like, ‘Dude, just go for it. Go for it.’ And you know Travis, man. He does it and he’s a great dude and I’m glad it’s all worked out for the best,” he continued.
Luckily for Kelce, after he publicly admitted to striking out, Swift somehow heard the remarks , and they began talking shortly after he “adorably put [her] on blast on his podcast.”
“We started hanging out right after that,” Swift told Time in December. “We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
The two have since publicly supported each other’s successful careers on numerous occasions and recently took some time to themselves by enjoying a romantic getaway to Lake Como, Italy.

‘We’re Still Here’: How AMC Theatres Is Struggling With $4.5 Billion in Debt and Surviving Thanks to Taylor Swift, Viral Popcorn Buckets and More
Adam Aron , the CEO of AMC Theatres , gives me a choice.
Popular on Variety
At CinemaCon, where cinema owners are treated like gods, Aron is a big deal. But outside the smoke-filled walls of Caesars, it’s hard to envy him. He’s running the world’s largest theater chain at a time when it faces questions about its survival — and he’s doing it as the movie business is flailing, having been shellacked by COVID and then two labor strikes. Since the pandemic, Aron has cycled through nine lives and then some, while averting the dreaded “B” word — bankruptcy — a fate that befell competitors like Cineworld and Alamo Drafthouse.
Privately, studio executives and rival exhibitors would love to see AMC file for Chapter 11. It’s not a case of schadenfreude. Given its stature, AMC is seen as the barometer for the industry’s financial health. This upsets other theater owners because they have more pristine balance sheets and feel the company’s current woes are a drag on the sector. The next two years will be crucial, as AMC has more than $2.8 billion of maturities due in 2026. Because of the looming deadline, the company is reportedly weighing debt-extension proposals.
“Adam wants to avoid bankruptcy, and it sounds like investors are open to renegotiating debt,” says Alicia Reese, VP of Equity Research at Wedbush Securities. “But there’s so much noise about AMC’s lack of profitability that unfairly implies an unhealthy industry. Studios and rivals want to reduce that noise.”
The pandemic exacerbated things, but AMC’s debt dilemma is largely self-created. Aron became CEO in 2016, having previously overseen the Philadelphia 76ers and Norwegian Cruise Line. He quickly transformed the company into a global powerhouse, acquiring Carmike Cinemas, London-based Odeon & UCI Cinemas and Nordic Cinema Group — deals that didn’t always pay off.
“Hindsight is tough,” says Eric Wold, senior analyst with B. Riley Securities. “In terms of Adam’s desire to get bigger and have more control over the industry, it was smart. He now has a lot of pull with studios.”
Despite its financial challenges, AMC is still a buyer, picking up several high-performing leases formerly operated by Arclight, Pacific Theatres and Bow Tie Cinemas that shuttered during COVID. And Aron is open to expanding again. Would he buy Alamo Drafthouse, the Texas-based circuit that’s like church to cinephiles and is exploring a sale ?
“We would be willing to grow AMC through acquisition going forward if we can find the right theaters at the right price,” Aron says, adding that he “won’t talk about individual theaters.”
That AMC is even afloat right now, let alone entertaining another spending spree, is due to a financial deus ex machina that’s bizarre even by Hollywood standards. In 2021, as movie theaters were struggling to stay open and Wall Street was betting against the business’s recovery, the “meme stock” frenzy — fueled by young retail investors, many of whom were more interested in sticking it to hedge funds seeking to short-sell the stock than they were supporting the big screen — sent the circuit’s stock price to the moon. It miraculously allowed AMC to improve its financial situation and renegotiate its massive debt obligations. Shares subsequently fell back to earth and are trading at slightly under $5.
He not only communicates with them on social media; he also embraces their ideas, which include accepting bitcoin and crypto payments for tickets and concessions. Those investors, who call themselves “Apes,” hail Aron as “the Silverback.” (It’s a reference to “The Planet of the Apes,” a movie in which primates overthrow humans.) And Aron, a 69-year-old Harvard Business School graduate, has embraced the disruption with a showman’s flair.
Being the center of attention comes naturally. At dinner, Aron interjects as the waiter asks if we’ve ever dined at Carmine’s, famous for platters of food so big that a wrestler in bulking season would struggle to polish them off. “Can I help? Order a lot,” Aron says, “because the portion sizes are very small.”
Aron is charming in a “dad joke-y” way, but Hollywood executives and rival exhibitors can’t decide whether he’s a business savant or the captain of the Titanic. Aron captured lightning in a bottle with the chain’s $25 million promotional campaign to get people back to the movies, in which he hired Nicole Kidman to tout the “magic” of the AMC theatrical experience and famously declare that “somehow, heartbreak feels good in a place like this.” Moviegoers committed her melodramatic speech to memory and petitioned when AMC attempted to shorten the commercial, which still plays before every showtime. But some feel that Aron puts the exhibition industry in the news for the wrong reasons — like in 2023, when he revealed he had been the victim of an “ elaborate criminal extortion ” by a woman who “threatened to release sexually explicit photographs of, and sexually explicitly communications” with the CEO. And despite the company’s economic hardships, he’s profiting handsomely; his total compensation in 2023 rose to $25.4 million in salary, stock and bonuses, according to public filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Retail shareholders may have saved AMC from catastrophe, but there are dangers ahead. These include a lighter release calendar and underperforming blockbusters that sent the box office tumbling 20% behind 2023 and 40% behind pre-pandemic levels.
Over the past four years, Aron has made attempts — some more unusual than others — to expand the company’s business outside of box office. AMC has invested in a Nevada-based gold and silver mining company, started selling popcorn in shopping malls, launched a branded credit card and partnered with Zoom so audience members can schedule conference calls from the comfort of their local multiplex. There’s also that “Dune” popcorn bucket (you know the one) that ignited the internet, to say nothing of the wildly successful AMC-distributed concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.”
AMC still needs to survive the next seven months. This year doesn’t look like it’ll match the grosses of 2023 — the best post-pandemic year but far below pre-COVID revenues. Last year’s strikes derailed the recovery as anticipated blockbusters were delayed while the industry shut down for months. Cinemas were collateral damage in the strikes, which Aron calls a “needless, self-inflicted wound.” He estimates theaters need six to nine months to recover.
“We’re aware of our current circumstances. Believe me,” he says. “But it’s not going to stay that way. It’s the first time in four years that I’ve been able to look ahead and say with some confidence that it’s not going to be atrocious.”
It helps that traditional studios, after a torrid affair with streaming, fell back in love with theaters. In 2020, during the worst of the pandemic, AMC and Universal feuded over the video-on-demand release of “Trolls World Tour.” It ended with the companies striking a historic deal to shorten the theatrical window from 90 days to roughly three weeks — sending shockwaves through a slow-to-change sector of the business. Now there’s a shift in attitude from the major distributors when assessing the value of the big screen; studios once again want their movies to enjoy a longer stay in theaters.
“People were writing off the existence of theaters as some bizarre anachronism,” Aron says about pandemic-era disputes. “Then studios finally realized again, ‘Wait a second — there’s a shitload of money to be made in movie theaters.’”
Despite the change of heart, studios are releasing fewer films. In response, AMC is filling in the gaps in the calendar: Aron once again shook up the industry in 2023 by beating out traditional studios to partner with Swift on “The Eras Tour” and Beyoncé’s concert film “Renaissance.”
Swift’s movie set all kinds of benchmarks, becoming the highest-grossing concert film ever, with $261 million globally. “And it was really good,” Aron says. “It got an ‘A+’ on CinemaScore and 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s not like we threw together some garbage.”
Aron expects that AMC will unveil “two to three” concert films a year and recently expanded the company’s distribution team, underscoring its commitment to releasing its own movies.
Hollywood studios, which regularly work with AMC, aren’t thrilled about the chain’s foray into distribution, feeling that the exhibitor is encroaching on their territory. Theater owners, too, feel slighted by the arrangements with Swift and Beyoncé. AMC was the only chain to know about the existence of those films in advance, so it could put tickets on sale first.
To soothe bruised feelings, before Beyoncé’s film went on sale, AMC gave its competition a super-secret heads-up: Don’t tell anyone , but be ready to put tickets on sale.
“At least half a dozen movie circuits leaked the news,” Aron laments. “Beyoncé was seriously thinking about not doing the movie at all because the secret was blown. So, they didn’t keep their word.”
Aron has other plans to revitalize the company’s languishing stock price. He wants to improve the moviegoing experience. To do that, he’ll deploy $200 million in capital annually to reinvest in theaters, which will renovate auditoriums with comfy recliner seats, upgrade projection systems and add premium large-format screens. AMC already boasts the largest North American footprint of the newly popular Imax screens. “Those are the seats that sell first,” he adds.
Aron tends to speak in outlines, ticking off the one, two, three steps in his multipronged plan of attack. When it comes to appeasing shareholders, it’s twofold. “No. 1 is to make sure we survive since COVID. And we’ve done a pretty good or, I’d say, very good job at that. No. 2 is to deliver increased earnings going forward. We’re quite focused on that.”
He adds, “It’s generally smart for people in my role not to talk externally about the share price. I happen to be a very large AMC shareholder. So clearly I would prefer that the stock price be higher rather than lower.”
According to Aron, AMC doesn’t need the box office to return to pre-COVID levels. He says the company has cut costs and let go of underperforming leases. “We’re focused on delivering more revenue and bottom-line profit,” he says. “At some point, the share price will take care of itself.”
Another win: Customers have been spending more freely at the concession stand, which helps revenues. A big growth driver has been movie-themed merchandise, like a top hat for “Wonka” or a toy pink convertible for “Barbie.” In 2023, those collectibles delivered $54 million in sales. Aron expects 25 or more movie tie-ins in 2024.
Thanks to those efforts, AMC went viral last year after the internet discovered the souvenir canister for “Dune: Part Two” looked more like a sex toy than a sandworm. The now-iconic bucket has been memed to hell and even immortalized on “Saturday Night Live” in a sketch about a teenager with other plans for the popcorn container. Aron tuned in, but he wasn’t impressed.
“It wasn’t their best skit,” Aron says. “It was great they did it. But you gotta remember that I’m so much older than you. When I think of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ I’m going back to John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, Eddie Murphy. I have very high standards for comedy on ‘SNL.’”
