TWENTY-TWO YEARS OF

5-Star Reviews!

5 star review

From the moment of initial contact with Captain Yiannis, everything was seamless.

Our experience has been nothing short of exceptional.

From the moment of initial contact with Captain Yiannis, everything was seamless. This company and the entire team could not have been more helpful! We live in the USA and never had a problem with communication. The Catamaran we selected was the Lagoon 450F. It was beautiful, spacious, clean, and easy to live on for a week as we sailed to beautiful beaches.

The Ionian Islands we visited were breathtaking, especially Kefalonia – it was our favorite! Above all, the feeling of safety that Captain George ensured throughout our trip made our journey even more memorable. We can’t wait to experience it again.

So, if you’re looking for an unforgettable sailing experience around the Greek Islands with a professional company and a knowledgeable and friendly guide, look no further!

The Great Greek Adventure

We have seen many islands thanks to Yannis, who has an unsurpassed knowledge of the, and we might add amazing docking skills! Matoula has been an amazing hostess, a wonderful cook and always gracious with a beautiful attitude. We will never forget our Great Adventure!

A safe pair of hands, experience and unlimited knowledge.

We’ve just spent a week sailing the Greek islands with Captain Yiannis. If your looking for a safe pair of hands, experience and unlimited knowledge of the Greek islands then Yiannis is the captain you need.

Great knowledge of the area and its history.

Excellent week of sailing in the Greek Islands with Yiannis. He has great knowledge of the area and its history. He showed us unique beaches and key sites on the islands. A memorable week of adventure, drama, and weather. A great first visit to the country of Greece and its islands. Recommend Yiannis as a skipper and guide for your trip.

David and Suzanne Kelly September 25, 2021

The kids enjoyed jumping off the boat and even steering.

We made it back safely and happily to Paros today. Yianni showed us secluded beaches, surprising chortas and agreed to take us to santorini even though he hates sailing there! The kids enjoyed jumping off the boat and even steering it on occasion. It’s a beautiful part of the world and we’d definitely recommend exploring it.

Christine August 22, 2021

Yannis is a superb captain

First and foremost, Yannis is a superb captain. He is a true professional and puts the comfort and safety of the guests first. We had a superb week and thanks to the knowledge of Yannis we visited hidden beaches and places that were sublime. Yannis is passionate about sailing, and we all improved our sailing skills and learned about sailing this magical part of the world.

We cannot wait to return and know that Captain Yannis is our go-to Greek master of the seas.”

The best tavernas for dining and the most interesting places to visit.

My friends and I had a terrific sailing trip with Cpt. Yiannis. We sailed islands from Athens to Milos for a week. [...] Captain Yiannis was not only an outstanding skipper, but he also is a very knowledgeable tour guide. [...] Also, he had tremendous knowledge of any island we stopped on the way and recommended the best tavernas for dining and the most interesting places to visit.

The captain was very professional and sailed extremely safe and responsible. Great guy, a great captain, thank you, Captain Yiannis!

Remis – Boston, USA June 26, 2021

Yannis gave us the ideal family yacht

We had a wonderful week of sailing in the Saronic Gulf end of August. Yannis gave us the ideal family yacht for this bareboat charter trip . Together with the charter company we felt us in very good hands, for all questions we had. Except in this year 2020, with these special conditions!

Thanks Yiannis.

OUR GUESTS SAY IT BEST

greek-seas-trip-advisor

“We were 2 couples on their brand new Saona catamaran for 7 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our days at sea and our nights at port. We had breakfast and lunch on board and dinner ashore at a different island or port every night… It was a lovely experience and we recommend this company!”

“This is my second trip on Greek Seas. That should say it all. First trip was a week and this one was 10 days. Another Great experience this time with Kostas and Mary… Islands were great, food was fantastic. Mary is a food magician. Kostas knows the islands backwards and forwards and helped us choose the right islands. Definitely recommend this group if you want a trip of a life time.”

“We had a great week sailing around the islands. We’d never been sailing before and had no real idea what to expect. However the skipper was very knowledgeable and professional. We had our daughter with us and I felt at all times that our safety was his priority. We saw some fantastic sights as well as being asked what we wanted to get out of the holiday. I would recommend Greek Seas without hesitation.”

10 Best Greece Cruises, According to Travel Experts

These are the best Greece cruises for island hopping with ease.

greek island sailing tours

Courtesy of Variety Cruises

With its stunning beaches, rich history, iconic landmarks, and delectable cuisine, a trip to Greece is always a great idea. However, since the nation is home to more than 6,000 islands — some of which are only accessible by boat — your best bet is to explore via cruise. Just take it from Rob Clabbers, Travel + Leisure A-List travel advisor and Q Cruise + Travel founder, who tells T+L that “Greece and the Greek isles are just the perfect destinations to explore by ship” since “a cruise allows you to see more islands and gives you a unique vantage point.” Several of the best Greece cruises also include visits to neighboring countries like Turkey and Italy, for example, which allow travelers to experience several cultures and countries in one action-packed trip. Intrigued? We don’t blame you: Ahead, check out our favorite Greece cruises for every type of traveler, along with itinerary recommendations and expert insight.

Meet the Expert

Rob Clabbers is a T+L A-List travel advisor and founder of Q Cruise + Travel, a Chicago-based travel agency.

Mary Curry is a T+L A-list travel advisor and small ship specialist.

Kari Dillon is the owner of Marvelous Mouse Travels, an agency specializing in theme park and cruise vacations.

Megan Guinnup is a travel agent with Marvelous Mouse Travels.

Windstar Cruises

Courtesy of Windstar

According to Clabbers, this small luxury cruise line is perfect for those who prefer “a smaller, more casual yacht-style experience.” Per the pro, the onboard vibes are best described as “upscale, but not stuffy or over-the-top.” It’s also worth noting that “each ship offers a water sports platform with kayaks, water trampolines, stand-up paddling, snorkel gear, floating carpets, and other ‘toys’ that are deployed (weather and location permitting, of course) at least once on most Greek itineraries.”

Itinerary: While you can’t go wrong with any of Windstar’s Greece itineraries, Clabbers is quick to call out the popular Treasures of the Greek Isles voyage, which sets sail each week from May through October. Passengers can visit beloved ports of call like Mykonos and Santorini, along with “lesser-known (and less-crowded!) places like Monemvasia and Patmos.” As part of the experience, guests have the unique opportunity to feast among the ruins in neighboring Turkey as part of the line’s complimentary Evening in Ephesus “after-hours” event, which, per Clabbers, features a decadent five-course dinner accompanied by a chamber orchestra. Speaking of culinary offerings, it’s worth mentioning that Windstar is the official cruise line partner of the esteemed James Beard Foundation, which means you can expect some of the top eats at sea.

Explora Journeys

Courtesy of Explora Cruises

“A new entrant in the luxury travel industry, Explora Journeys offers all the style and comfort of a modern European luxury resort property on its 922-guest yacht-inspired Explora I and, launching later this year, Explora II, ” explains Clabbers. The line has taken the industry by storm, doing away with cliche cruise staples like main dining rooms, large buffets, and notoriously small staterooms. Instead, says Clabbers, guests can choose from a selection of “excellent restaurants that other companies would call specialty restaurants,” as well as “four swimming pools, each with their own vibe,” and all-suite accommodations, some of which boast private plunge pools. Per the pro, it’s worth noting that “Explora Journeys is the first luxury line that offers a dedicated youth activity program and facility year-round;” as such, it’s an excellent option for multi-generational families looking to cruise Greece in style.

Itinerary: Sailing round-trip from Athens, the aptly named eight-night A Journey from Athens to Athens itinerary includes a mix of popular ports like Mykonos and Santorini, along with hidden-gem locales like Syros, which is famous for its neoclassical architecture, a buzzy main town, and (essentially) crowd-free beaches. The cruise also visits the serene resort town of Marmaris in Turkey before heading to its final port of call, Kos , a gorgeous Greek island known for its sandy beaches, white-washed buildings, and historical sites.

Celebrity Cruises

Courtesy of Celebrity Cruises

According to Clabbers, " Celebrity Cruises was launched by a Greek shipping family," so the line has deep ties to — and many officers who hail from — the country. What’s more, he says, "When you visit Greece, they are taking you to their homeland, and it shows in their passion and love of the Hellenic nation." The line offers a range of larger ships and, thus, more options between accommodations (from economical inside rooms to luxurious suites in The Retreat), itineraries, restaurants, and entertainment; as such, Celebrity is "a great option for adults and families who like more activities on their ship."

Itinerary: The nine-night Best Of Greece itinerary cruises round-trip from Athens on select dates from May to October and takes place aboard the 2,170-passenger Celebrity Infinity , which Clabbers described as one of the line’s “smaller and more seasoned ships.” The first port of call is Santorini, followed by Ephesus in Turkey and Mykonos. “Additionally,” says Clabbers, " Infinity   travels to Volos and Thessaloniki, ports that are not typically visited by large ships.” Kavala, located in the northern part of the country, serves as the final port of call before heading back to Athens. Here, cruisers can enjoy a mix of history, culture, and architecture — plus some seriously stunning landscapes (from lagoons and lakes to wetlands and beaches) along with lush flora and fauna.

Related: What to Know About All 16 Ships in the Celebrity Cruises Fleet

Courtesy of Silversea cruises

Silversea offers a variety of Greece cruise itineraries, and it’s one of few truly luxe all-inclusive cruise lines. Per Clabbers, the 596-passenger Silver Moon offers all-suite accommodations and a classic small-ship feel — complete with excellent meals, beverages, and shore excursions all included in your cruise fare. Speaking of the latter, he says, “The inclusion of shore excursions also makes it easy to dive deeper into Greek culture and culinary experiences.”

Itinerary: While you can’t go wrong with any of Silversea’s Greek itineraries, Clabbers especially recommends the seven-night Athens to Athens cruise, which “calls on highlights, but adds places like Souda Bay in Crete, Nafplion, Patmos, and Rhodes ,” where he recommends visiting the “temple ruins at Lindos, with views over the Mediterranean, and then walk in the footsteps of the Crusaders in the old town.” The cruise also stops in Nafplion, which, despite its romantic seaside setting and lovely beaches, is yet to be uncovered by most American travelers — for now, at least.

Variety Cruises

According to T+L A-list travel advisor and small ship specialist Mary Curry , this local Greek cruise line offers its own fleet of yachts, most carrying fewer than 50 passengers. Since the ships are so small, says Curry, “you can travel a bit further off the beaten path.” Variety offers a handful of Greece itineraries, including specially themed hiking and wine cruises.

Itinerary: Travelers craving a true off-the-beaten-path experience can book the seven-night Unexplored Greece voyage, which sails round-trip from Athens. The first port of call is Ikira, a tiny island known for its hot springs that also happens to be one of the world’s Blue Zones. Then, it’s off to Patmos, known for its fascinating history and unspoiled beaches, before overnighting in Lipsi, a laid-back isle famous for its gorgeous scenery. On board, guests can taste the destination’s famous wine, Aposperitis. The fun continues in Levintha, inhabited by a single family who raises animals and runs a restaurant where guests can enjoy fresh-caught fish. After, it’s off to Amorgos, where scenic hiking and beautiful beaches abound. The next day, you’ll stop at Panagia Hozoviotissa, a cliffside monastery dating back to the 10th century, before heading to Koufonisia, which boasts majestic caves and rock pools accessible only by boat (thankfully, Variety as you covered). The final stop of the day is the serene island of Iraklia, which offers clear-blue waters ideal for swimming. After remaining here overnight, you’ll head to the final port of call, Serifos, where guests can visit a remote beach, followed by an onboard BBQ feast to refuel before heading to Chora, a fairy-tale village.

Courtesy of Ponant Cruises

This French-owned cruise line offers an impressive fleet of small luxury ships. Additionally, says Curry, “Most cabins have private balconies, and travelers who plan early are rewarded with excellent value for the money.” What’s especially unique about Pontant, explains the pro, is that they “partner with Smithsonian Journeys on select departures to offer an enrichment program of included lectures and shore excursions in each port.”

Itinerary: Curry especially recommends the seven-night Cruising the Greek Islands of the Southern Aegean sailing, which will cruise round-trip from Athens in July and October 2025. The cruise calls on aforementioned spots like Patmos, Rhodes, and Amorgos before visiting Adamas in Milos, a volcanic island teeming with postcard-worthy white-washed towns and breathtakingly beautiful beaches. Adamas itself is a tiny fishing port where colorful boats shimmer against the blue waters. Finally, it’s off to Mykonos and Napflion before finally disembarking in Athens.

Disney Cruise Line

Courtesy of Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line is world-famous for its exciting onboard offerings for children of all ages — including character and superhero meet-and-greets, dining options themed after beloved Disney princesses, and live performances galore — making it a favorite for families hoping for a fun-filled Greece vacation.

Itinerary: "Setting sail aboard the Disney Dream on the seven-night Mediterranean with Greek Isles itinerary is nothing short of magical!" says Megan Guinnup , a travel agent with Marvelous Mouse Travels . Cruising round-trip from Rome, the ship calls on Naples before exploring Greece. In addition to popular ports like Athens and Mykonos, you'll also visit Chania on the island of Crete, which offers a bustling harbor, exquisite architecture, and cobblestone streets that look like they were plucked straight from a (Disney) fairy tale. After exploring each locale, the fun continues back on board, where, per the pro, "there is enchantment everywhere — meeting beloved characters, enjoying deck parties with Mickey and Minnie, and indulging in exquisite cuisine."

Royal Caribbean

This mega-ship line truly has it all: Flashy entertainment and onboard activities — which, depending on the ship, can include everything from water slides to zip lines — and plenty of drinking and dining offerings to appease even the pickiest eaters. Guinnup and Kari Dillon, owner of Marvelous Mouse Travels, recommend setting sail aboard Odyssey of the Seas , which offers several Greek itineraries. "On board," says Guinnup, "There's a plethora of activities to enjoy, from bumper cars and roller skating to exquisite dining and a bionic bar — there's something for everyone!"

Itinerary: The seven-night Greek Isles itinerary sails round-trip from Rome with stops in Santorini, Ephesus, Mykonos, and Naples. Keep in mind that because the ship is so large, Santorini and Mykonos are both tender ports. With that in mind, Dillon recommends springing on The Key, an optional add-on that includes priority tender access so that you can spend as much time as possible on land basking in its beauty.

Virgin Voyages

Courtesy of Virgin Voyages

Richard Branson’s adults-only line has taken the industry by storm with its innovative offerings, including 20-plus restaurants instead of buffets, an onboard tattoo parlor, adult-focused entertainment offerings, and a two-story nightclub.

Itinerary: Dillon especially recommends the seven-night Greek Island Aglow itinerary for travelers seeking a high-energy, adults-only option. She continues, telling T+L, “Not only does this sail to the islands of Santorini and Rhodes, but it [also] has an overnight in Mykonos, which is world-famous for its lively party atmosphere.” As a bonus, the cruise also calls on Bodrum in Turkey, which boasts beautiful beaches, flower-filled cafes, and a bustling nightlife scene.

Celestyal Cruises

Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto via Getty Images

The Greece-based Celesytal Cruises prides itself on offering an authentic Greek vacation experience. Additionally, Celesytal is unique in that it offers year-round Aegean Sea sailings cruising round-trip from Athens and ranging in length from three to 14 nights. On land, Celeystal guests can choose from a selection of the line’s “Authentic Excursions,” which are specially curated, small-group, expert-led experiences designed to take travelers off the beaten path. Options — including walking food tours and pottery-making demos at a local factory — abound, depending on the particular port of call.

Itinerary: The seven-night Idyllic Aegean voyage visits Thessaloniki (which offers an eclectic combination of history, nightlife, and gastronomy), Kuşadası (a popular Turkish resort town), and Heraklion (the capital of Crete) before heading to iconic isles like Santorini and Mykonos, where the ship will remain overnight. Before returning to Athens for disembarkation, you’ll also stop in magnificent Milos.

Best Greek isles cruises for families: Disney Dream

greek island sailing tours

Disney Cruise Line is ideal for families. If a Disney cruise to Greece with kids sounds appealing, Disney Dream is the ship that will take you there.

The vessel isn't the line's newest, but it's also not the oldest, and you'll still find plenty to do on board. The 2,500-passenger ship's small size means it's easy to learn your way around. Even better, Disney Dream is typically more affordable than the line's newest vessels.

Dream offers jaw-dropping entertainment and daily character appearances, which means your children likely won't be bored on the ship. Its magical kids clubs feature a replica of Andy's room from "Toy Story" and the Millennium Falcon's cockpit from "Star Wars." (Expect surprise visits from R2-D2 or a squad of stormtroopers.)

Also, Greece is wrapped in tons of ancient history to spark your family's imagination. For example, in Athens, you might choose to take a guided tour of the Acropolis, followed by a "day in the life of an archaeologist" experience, where you'll search for treasures in a faux archaeological dig.

If the kids prefer something sportier, they might enjoy an excursion that takes visitors to the Panathenaic Stadium for a tour and a talk about the first Olympic games of the modern era.

Disney Dream sails five-, seven- and nine-night voyages from $322 per person, per night, for a windowless inside cabin. Some itineraries sail round-trip from Rome, while others cruise one-way between Rome and Barcelona with calls on Athens, Mykonos and other ports in Greece.

Although Virgin's Greece itineraries are pretty standard, its onboard experience is what sets it apart in the region.

The adults-only ship combines a casual vibe with a ramped-up nightlife. You'll find passengers dressed like mermaids, crew dressed like drag queens and performers that more accurately represent a cross-section of real life than those whom you'll find on most other lines' vessels.

As part of what just might be the best entertainment at sea , nighttime shows run the gamut from lounge singers and seemingly impromptu atrium dance parties to secret below-deck visits to the "crew bar" for a drink. There's also Scarlet Night — a rave-like pool-deck dance party where everyone wears red.

If that's not wild enough for you, there's also an app that lets you order Champagne to wherever you are on board, free fitness classes that encourage you to dress up in your '80s best and even a tattoo parlor so you can make some bad decisions.

Resilient Lady sails seven-, 10- and 11-night cruises from Athens, starting at $145 per person, per night, for an inside cabin. The voyages feature a mix of stops in Greece (including Santorini and Rhodes and an overnight in Mykonos), Croatia, Turkey and Montenegro, depending on the specific itinerary you choose.

Best budget-friendly Greece cruises: Rhapsody of the Seas

greek island sailing tours

Want to check out Greece but have limited funds? Although you'll have to factor in potentially expensive flights to Europe to board, a voyage on Royal Caribbean 's Explorer of the Seas could be right up your alley.

The vessel is one of Royal Caribbean's oldest ships — it debuted in 2000 — but that doesn't mean you won't find fun onboard activities such as trivia, pool games, nightly theater performances, game shows, dancing and live music.

The best part if you're on a budget is the price. You can snag sailings of six, seven or eight nights from just $85 per person, per night, for an inside cabin. These cruises sail either between Rome and Athens or between Barcelona and Athens, or round-trip from Ravenna (the port for Bologna, Italy). Voyages include calls on Athens, Santorini and Mykonos, as well as ports in Cyprus and Turkey.

Best small-ship luxury Greece cruises: Windstar's Wind Star

greek island sailing tours

Windstar Cruises ' namesake, Wind Star, is a 148-passenger masted sailing yacht that offers a special Greek islands experience because it calls on some of the area's smaller ports in addition to Athens.

The ship is great for sailing aficionados. Because of its small size, it can visit smaller ports that larger vessels can't access. (Think Monemvasia, a town carved into rock, and Gythion, where you'll find caves and lovely beaches.)

Also, Wind Star is an upscale ship, which means you'll find elevated dining and service on board. All cabins offer at least one window. When you purchase an all-inclusive fare, Wi-Fi, gratuities and alcohol are rolled into the price.

Among other itineraries, the vessel sails weeklong cruises between Athens and Rome that call on Monemvasia and Gythion in Greece, as well as several ports in Italy. Rates start from $300 per person, per night, for an outside cabin.

Best locally based Greek isles cruises: Celestyal Journey

greek island sailing tours

Celestyal Cruises is a line you don't hear about too often, but it's based in Greece, which means it has a unique perspective on Greek island sailings.

If you're looking for a cruise vacation that's full of local Greek flair, check out the brand's Celestyal Journey. The ship isn't new, but it's new to the line. Following an extensive refurbishment, and its Celestyal debut in late 2023, it's the youngest member of the line's fleet.

Holding about 1,200 passengers, Celestyal Journey is small enough that you'll still receive a personalized experience but large enough to offer a multitude of onboard amenities. Enjoy yourself at the spa and fitness center, eight bars, seven restaurants, a chef's table experience and two pools. The ship offers 630 cabins, including 149 balcony cabins, 120 junior suites and 28 full-fledged suite accommodations.

Itineraries offered by Celestyal Journey range from four to 28 nights, departing from either Athens or Thessaloniki. Most voyages include calls on well-known Greek ports like Santorini, Rhodes and Mykonos, while longer sailings also venture to places in Turkey and Montenegro. Prices start from $89 per person, per night, for an inside cabin.

Bottom line

The best cruises to Greece combine a mix of fascinating destinations with a ship that fits your budget and travel style. If you're still unsure which cruise to choose, check with a knowledgeable cruise travel agent who can help you sort through the options.

The Carpe Mundo Touch

Join us in Greece as we explore the beautiful Cyclades! This area is home to famous Mykonos and Santorini, but there are over 200 islands in the Cyclades and we will be visiting six of them on our Greek Islands Sailing tour. Our itinerary was chosen to allow you to experience Greece off the beaten path , while still having the opportunity to visit Athens, Mykonos, and/or Santorini before or after our tour. The islands we visit have a lot to offer- beautiful scenery, delicious food, great hiking and biking, beautiful beaches , interesting museums, ancient ruins, and more. There is one thing they are missing- the floods of tourists that descend on the more well known islands!  In addition to the charming towns where we will dock at night, we will visit remote beaches and bays where you can swim in the crystal blue water of the Aegean Sea. This trip is the perfect combination of fun activities and relaxation, of group time and opportunities to explore on your own.

This is the general itinerary that is used for the trip. Itineraries are subject to change based on weather, group preferences, and other circumstances.

Your Cyclades sailing adventure begins at the port of Parikia on the island of Paros, known for its golden beaches and white-washed shops and houses decked with bougainvillea. Ferry or fly to the island on your own in time for boarding your deluxe catamaran in the late afternoon. Your captain and trip leader welcome you aboard with refreshments and appetizers and will assign you to your cabin with private bathroom for the week. Meet your fellow travelers and get oriented to Paros’ many attractions, including  Ekatontapiliani (the “church with 100 gates”). Stroll back into town for dinner and drinks at your leisure; then tuck into your catamaran for the night.

Wake up to a typical Greek breakfast buffet of yogurt, coffee, fresh fruits and pastries and set sail for Sifnos. You’ll have the whole afternoon and evening to discover the island. Sifnos is a hiker’s paradise, with dozens of trails to explore and experience Greece off the beaten path. There are many other great options besides hiking… Borrow a snorkel and mask from your catamaran and dive into the warm, crystal clear waters. Stroll the maze of narrow streets and shops, rent a bicycle, or visit the archaeological museums. Pause for a prayer at the beautiful Church of the Seven Martyrs and explore the antiquities in Kastro, the old capital. Tonight, dine near the harbor or head inland to the tavernas of lively Apollonia, a town dedicated to the god Apollo. Apollonia is known for its fun yet unpretentious atmosphere and is the perfect place to enjoy Greek nightlife.

Leave lively Sifnos for the striking rock formations, caves and hot springs dotting unspoilt Milos. As you approach the island, you’ll be greeted by a colorful spread of boathouses; venture further to visit the Christian catacombs and the ancient amphitheater, built to hold 7,000 people. We can recommend several of the island’s dozens of beaches to laze upon, and point you to the hot springs. Head to the capital town of Plaka to visit its museums and castle. A popular way to experience Milos is by renting an ATV to tour around the island! As the sun sets, perhaps hire a taxi or drive an ATV to the port of Pollonia for a gorgeous view and lovely setting for dinner.  Watch the stars slowly reveal themselves as you return to your cabin and doze off to the gentle lapping of the sea.

After a leisurely breakfast, set sail to Folegandros, said to be “as beautiful as Santorini” with its cliffside setting and white-washed houses pouring down to the sea. Only 12 square miles, this gem of an island has less than 700 full-time residents. Venture to Chora (the main town), closed to cars but bustling with tavernas and shops under the trees. Take the bus or hike to find secluded beaches and villages. Time travel to the Middle Ages as you stroll along the Kastro, a small fortress built by the Venetians in 1210. Feel the magic of old Greece as you walk up the hill to the Orthodox church of Panagia for a panoramic view of the Chora and coast as the sun sets. Return to your catamaran to sip a glass of wine or grappa and watch the sunset from the deck.

Today’s exciting destination is Ios , in the heart of the Cyclades. Known for its great beaches, fun bars and tavernas, you will love this beautiful island. The main town, also called Ios, is located on a hillside marked by a double windmill. Explore the island’s numerous churches and chapels encircled within its crumbling medieval walls. Or, seek out the beautiful, domed 17 th century Church of Ayia Irini  on the west coast of the island. Archaeology enthusiasts can hire a taxi to visit the terraced ruins of Skarkos, an early Bronze settlement and one of the most important prehistoric sites in the Aegean. Tonight, join the party in town with a shot of grappa and some Greek dancing – or just relax onboard.

Catch the steady breeze and set sail for lively Naxos, one of the largest and greenest islands in the Cyclades. Wander through the old town’s market and meander around the Venetian castle, or join your trip leader and rent a bike or hike to a traditional village or particularly gorgeous beach. Venture further by renting a scooter or car to visit the island’s attractions (like the giant unfinished statue of Apollo in Apollon) as you wish. Drop into the church of Panagia Mirtidiotissa and Saint Georgios Diasorites to take in the artwork and beautiful frescoes. Walk through the Portara, the gateway to the unfinished Temple of Apollo.  Head to the old town for dinner and an evening stroll or partake in an optional cooking lesson with a local Greek chef before returning to your peaceful cabin on the Aegean.

Your last day sailing returns you to the island of Paros and the port of Naoussa where you’ll have a full afternoon to explore this beautiful island – its white marble quarries were used to create the famed Venus de Milo. Set off on your own to seek out one of several incredible beaches, such as Alykí beach with its ancient ruins, where you can laze on the beach and dive into the clear waters to cool off. If you enjoy wine, visit one of several wineries on the island where you can sample varieties of wine found only in this region! Tonight, toast your captain and traveling mates to your weeks’ adventures. Opa!

After one last hearty Greek breakfast, disembark your catamaran. You can extend your stay in Paros for the day or continue to other Greek destinations such as Santorini, Mykonos, or Crete, or journey homeward.

Blue coves, white beaches, islands both big and small – to explore this slice of paradeisos, you’re gonna need a boat.

You know those moments in life when you wonder, is this even real? On a sailing trip to Greece ’s Cyclades Islands, that happens a lot. It strikes when you wake up on the Mediterranean and dive in for a swim. When you sail into Mykonos and realise that big rock over there is actually the petrified body of a giant once defeated by Hercules (or so the legend goes). You’ll feel it when you dock off the coast of a deserted island, when you get lost in the white-washed streets of Apollonia, or when you share a shot of ouzo with a local fisherman. But trust us, it’s real. And it’s waiting for you.

Highlights of Greece sailing

Experience the famous nightlife on Mykonos.

Join the party on Mykonos

If there’s anywhere that’s got hedonism down to a fine art, it’s the sunny isle of Mykonos. Named after Apollo’s grandson, this shining star of the Cyclades presents the holidaymaker (that’s you) with pleasures galore – chic boutiques, sandy beaches, divine food and world-class nightlife. And how better to roll into town than on a yacht?

Sunsets in Santorini.

Catch a Santorini sunset

Santorini ticks all the dream holiday boxes. You’ve got volcanic beaches. Cathedrals and historical sites. Boutique shopping and seaside dining. But mostly, views. Everywhere you look, you’ll catch to-die-for views across the white-tipped cliffs of the caldera and down to the Aegean Sea. Make sure you do the famous walk from Fira to Oia, arriving just in time for a sunset cocktail.

Seaside views at a Greek restaurant.

Escape to the Small Cyclades

If your vision of the Greek Islands is less mega nightclubs and more sleepy fishing villages, you’ll be right at home in the Small Cyclades. Few tourists frequent this dreamy archipelago, where the total population numbers in the low hundreds. Wander barefoot along empty beaches, watching out for dolphins in the distance, then sit down to a seafood feast by the water.

Naxos is full of history.

Meet history on Naxos

History buffs will be at home on Naxos. Apollo, Dionysos, Ares and Zeus all have strong ties to the island, while some versions of Greek mythology even suggest Zeus – king of the gods – grew up here. In the 1200s the island was taken by the Venetians. Wandering through the town’s tangle of laneways, churches and castles, you’ll feel as if you’ve stumbled right back into the Middle Ages.

Kutte has been a sailing instructor since 1975.

'I love the freedom of sailing. I learned to sail in a rubber dinghy with a small sail, and from there I became a sailing instructor in Corsica in 1975. I’ve sailed the Caribbean, but now I mostly sail the Mediterranean Sea. I like island hopping and exploring islands with their unique harbour villages and beautiful bays. I believe to really get the most out of your sailing adventure you must be flexible, forgiving, helpful and authentic.' – Kutte,  Cyclades Islands

  • Peak period  (July, August)
  • Shoulder period  (June, September)
  • Low period  (May, October)

The below-stated prices are subject to change without any notice. Keep in mind, that as the departure date of the sailing tour comes closer, the prices might increase, so it is wise to book in advance and secure the cheapest price possible! Once you have paid your 20% deposit, the remaining price of your option stays as it is!

In case of any price increase/decrease, you will be informed in time, accordingly.

  • Prices fluctuate regularly, in line with the demand. Our Price Promise ensures clients, who book early, that they will never have to pay more, than those who book quite after them

All our standard cabins besides, their comfortable mattresses, are ensuite with their own shower, a hair dryer, a wardrobe for storage, reading lights, their own individual A/C device and an electric fan!

Regarding our cabins, we do have a variety of doubles/twins (lower beds/bunk beds) and a few triples and quads, depending on your cruise package and demand.

The only additional charge you need to expect is the local port fees (80€ per person), which need to be paid upon arrival, in order to assure some basic operational needs for the cruise.

If you want to have your own private cabin, there will be an extra charge of 75% of the total amount of 1 person’s price.

We always try to allocate same-gender guests, together (this applies to our solo travelers), however, we cannot guarantee this under unexpected situations.

As this is the designated arrival day, you have time to explore the Greek capital before you set sail.

Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities, where you can explore over 3,400 years of history. Buy yourself the multi-site combo tickets for €30 that grants you entry for five days to all the classical sites, including the Acropolis hilltop and the famed Parthenon structure and six other Archaeological sites: Temple of Zeus, Ancient Agora, Hadrian’s Library, Roman Agora, Keramikos Cemetery and Lyceum of Aristotle. The modern Acropolis museum is well worth a visit to learn more and view hundreds of more artefacts.

If you want to see and learn a lot on short time, consider one of the many Athens walking tours on offer – from general city navigation and history, to philosophy, architecture and, of course, food walking tours.

Or stroll the old neighbourhoods from Plake to Psyri, try souvlaki or sip on a frappe, and hang out with the locals in one of the city’s many cafes.

In the afternoon, please make your way to our marina in Salamina marina, where you can meet your fellow sailors and mingle.

Relax on board, sip your drink from your private deck, and dance till dawn!

⚓️Toga Night

We continue our Greek sailing adventure and journey towards to the little traditional village of Ancient Epidaurus, famed for its wild lemon trees & oranges, sandy beaches with blue-green waters, lush greenery and fresh fish.

Sunken City and  Nisi beach are two of the Epidaurus’s best-loved beaches, from which you can explore the Aegean Sea with adrenalin via the massive array of watersports on offer.

There’s time to wander picturesque ancient Epidaurus Town, visit the historical ancient amphitheater, and sample some of the best Greek food – and cocktails – on the island.

⚓️Epidaurus Scuba diving

We continue our Greek sailing adventure and journey towards to the little Greek island of Poros, famed for its wild lemon trees, sandy beaches with blue-green waters, lush greenery and Poseidon’s Temple ruins.

Love Bay and Askeli are two of the island’s best-loved beaches, from which you can explore the Aegean Sea with adrenalin via the massive array of watersports on offer.

There’s time to wander picturesque Poros Town, visit the historical Monastery of Zoodochos Pighi and sample some of the best Greek food – and cocktails – on the island.

⚓️Poros Cooking Class

Hydra is the island of Greek naval traditions and played a significant role in the 1821 War of Independence, with preserved captain’s mansions on the seafront by the quaint Old Harbour, and a thriving town that remains the heart of commercial life on the island.

Horse-drawn carriages can take you on a romantic journey around the old town streets, and the iconic Cathedral is a must-visit for history lovers.

There are a handful of beaches you can visit, many with water sports facilities, although Vlichos remains a favorite for sun-worshippers as it is considered the most beautiful with its backdrop of pine trees.

We stay overnight in Hydra, allowing time to wander the atmospheric old town at dusk, where you’ll find lively bars and clubs. You can even join a late-night party on the beach.

⚓️ Donkey Ride

On the fifth day of our ocean cruising, we sail towards a revered gem of the Aegean – the Ermioni village. With a traditional pebbled road, lined up with cozy tavernas, Ermioni has its charm.. However, its compact size and layout means it’s just as easy to navigate on foot, where you can stroll its romantic cobble-stoned backstreets and narrow village walkways.

As the heat rises, spend the afternoon in the calm waters swimming or by SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) in the tranquil bay on the Ermioni coastline, or pass the time idly dining in a tavern, awaiting one of the best sunsets in Greece.

⚓️Nafplio Bus Tour

We will moor at the tiny fishing village of Perdika, perched on the idyllic eastern shores of Aegina Island, known for its temple of Athena Aphaia.

Here you can indulge in some the Saronic Islands’ best seafood, as well as spend the afternoon swimming in the crystal-clear waters and wandering around the picture-perfect bay, before heading to the taverna-lined harbour for the last Greek island feast.

After a refreshing morning swim in the sparkling blues of the Aegean Sea, we’ll set sail for our final destination on your island-hopping sailing trip. Enjoy the sea breeze and ocean views as you relax onboard.

We’ll arrive back in Athens in plenty of time for you to continue your exploration of the city. Our crew will be on hand to give you some top tips and local insights, to find corners of the city you wouldn’t otherwise know.

⚓️Athens Guided Tour

Departure Day

As we come back in full circle to Athens, this is our departure day, where you’ll be saying goodbye to your new friends and your crew.

Hopefully, we will see you again next year for more sailing around the Greek islands.

Frequently asked questions

Harmony cruises are party tours ideal for independent like-minded travelers from 18-35s. You will explore the most famous islands in the world, the Greek islands and experience the best nightlife.

They depart From Athens every Saturday at 3pm, from May till October. For specific dates see our calendar.

The cruise finishes every Saturday at 09:00 after breakfast.

Do you prefer exploring the Greek islands, traveling for hours with other thousands of people, getting queued to embark on the public boats, waking up at crazy hours to be on time, carrying your bags everywhere, changing from hostel to hostel, rather than travel with your private boat, having your own bed from day 1 to day 8 with no movements, exploring beaches and hidden gems of the Aegean sea and still have the same fun with your friends?

We do have a variety of cabins, which range from doubles to twins (lower beds-bunk beds) to triples and a few quads, depending on the operating gulet.

All cabins besides, their comfortable mattresses, are ensuite with their own shower, a hair dryer, a wardrobe for storage, reading lights, their own individual A/C device and an electric fan!

If you want to be in the same cabin with your friends, just mention it, while booking with us. We can not guarantee that you will be together, but we will make everything possible to actually do that!

Please keep in mind, that we provide 1 set of fresh linen and towels, for the cruising week.

Many of our guests, choose to travel alone, as it follows the basic idea of our cruises. Independent individuals, come alone but travel with same-like-minded people, so many in the end, actually become friends!

Please know, that if you are traveling solo, we will always try to allocate you to a cabin, with your same gender.

On the other hand, if you desire to have your own private cabin, there will be an extra charge of 50% of the total amount of 1 person’s price

In general, if you skip Mykonos, in the Greek islands you can find cheap food and drinks everywhere. You can eat from 1 “souvlaki” that costs only 2 euros and Greeks eat it as a meal or a proper meal at a restaurant that costs around 8 – 15 € p.p. Drinks cost from 5 – 10 € for cocktails.

Yes all local taxes are included in your cruise. There is only a 20 € p.p. port tax for the whole week. So on every island we visit, you will not pay anything extra for port/local taxes. There is only 1 exception, in Santorini, when due to weather conditions sometimes our boats are not able to dock at the old port and there is a need for a local transport between our boat and the port with smaller local boats. The cost for that transfer is 5€ p.p. one way.

Water is offered complimentary by us, only during meal courses, so water is NOT included in your package!

If you want any extra water, we offer 1.5L bottles (Natural mineral Water), at 2€

The A/C, operates from 4 to 8 hours, per day (if of course, it is permitted by the government’s Covid regulations).

Also note, that the A/C works only when the generator is working at the exact same time. Though, due to local regulations, the generator must be turned off, after midnight.

The power supply, from the shore at the ports of Corfu, Kassiopi, Sivota and Gaios (due to their weak infrastructure), is not powerful enough to operate all our A/C units, simultaneously. Thus you must keep in mind, that there are possibly hot nights, especially during July and August, where the A/C, does not work after midnight.

Please keep in mind, that all our cabins are equipped with independent electric fans, as well, hence when our boats are connected to the shore’s power supply, our fans work properly, during the night, as well.

Any means of transportation, such as local buses, taxis, or even water taxis, are not included, in any of our cruise packages. However, we would be more than happy to arrange any possible transportation, for you!

A standard “airport to the vessel (and vice versa)” transfer, is around 25-30€ per person (depending on the Island), while shorter, in-town transportation would vary, between 8€ and 15€ per person.

In case you want to arrange your transportation, prior to your arrival, send us an email, at: [email protected] or [email protected]

Our gulets share quite a number of electrical sockets, both on the inside and the outside, of the vessel.

With this in mind, and as we do provide extension cords and multi-docking stations, you will be able to charge your devices, either while cruising while the generator is active, or while docked at port!

You are able to have a shower, any time of the day, but keep in mind that when the boat is docked at some of the ports we visit, the engines are turned off, the water flow is reduced and as a result, there is no hot water after midnight.

Water tanks on board are limited, meaning, when multiple cabins shower simultaneously, hot water is more likely to end.

If your shower does not have hot water, please inform your captain in order to open the water heater, and please wait for at least, 15 to 20 minutes, until it heats up the water again.

Our Mykonos Cruise is under a Brunch option, which basically is a buffet-style brunch course, served at around 13:00.

Click here , to see our detailed brunch menu!

Please note, that all courses include water, though if you want extra, a 1.5L water bottle, is at 2€

We do respect our passenger’s food preferences and requirements and that is why our Chefs, in case it is needed, will prepare optional dishes, as well.

(vegetarian, lactose-free, pescatarian, vegan, etc.)

As we use to say here, we are like a hostel in the water. So, yes feel free to bring any personal food or drinks you want on board. Our idea is to support your budget and travel cheaper. Please keep in mind that is not allowed to consume food and drinks inside our cabins and also there is no communal fridge that can be used for storage.

Adventure traveling, like Island hopping, requires travel insurance and we strongly suggest, purchasing one! For further details, please review our travel insurance section.

All gulets, including ours, are hybrids, which means that although they do have a motor engine, they can run on wind energy, as well, through its huge sails.

That said, operating a cruise solely on wind energy, is something quite unpredictable, thus, we prefer relying on, and scheduling each week, based on the gulet’s ability to use its motor engines!

All the gulets in our fleet, have only European-type sockets.

Note: It is mandatory to know this beforehand, as the electrical items/devices you want to bring on board, need to agree, with this specification.

We have travelers from all over the world, and we are truly delighted about this!

Most of our passengers are Australian, British, German, Spanish, Croatian, French, Italian, South African, Canadian and American!

So, most of our passengers are mainly English speakers!

In order to get all the necessary updated information about Visa and passport requirements, please check our Visa & Passport section!

In order to support the local community and give back to its (our) people, all our gulets have multinational crew members. Though, English is the number one onboard-speaking language!

All our gulets can carry up to, approximately 20 to 25 passengers, with an average cabin number of 7. (double/twins – triples)

Keep in mind, that all our vessels have fair space onboard, for literally all the passengers they will, eventually, accommodate!

At the time of your booking/inquiry, remember to specify who your fellow travelers are. This way, we will try to make all the necessary arrangements to accommodate you, all together, on the same vessel!

Please keep in mind though, that we can not guarantee this, for close-to-date cruises!

Even if we believe, that it is impossible for someone, to wish to “abort” our sailing cruise earlier than its scheduled disembarkation, You are of course, free to leave, whenever you like!

The only restriction though, is that in order for you to leave earlier, the gulet needs to be docked at a marina/port, and not on some remote cove!

Of course, in case you happen to leave earlier and want us to help you with your transportation, feel free to let us know, by sending an email, at: [email protected] or [email protected]

In the unfortunate event, of losing your departure, you have the option to either “catch” us on the next Island/destination, via commercial ferry, or bus. (if accessible)

In any case, if something like that is to happen, try to inform us prior to the actual departure time, by calling us at our Head Office, at: +30 211 215 2595

As personal privacy, is of paramount importance to us, we cannot provide you with any of your fellow travelers’ details, prior to your actual cruise day.

However, if you are interested to meet other people that travel on the same tour as you, feel free, to head to our Facebook page and introduce yourself to our lovely community!

For an unforgettable sailing adventure, make sure to visit at least one of the Greek islands. We have a list of some amazing destinations that are perfect for your next Mediterranean sailing vacation!

  • Mykonos – This island is famous for its windmills and white houses which makes it look like a fairy tale land. It’s also known for its nightlife and the amazing beaches it has to offer.
  • Ionian Islands –  These islands are a great place to start your sailing trip in Greece. With so many different islands , each with its own charm and beauty, you’ll find something for everyone here. The Lefkas sailing route will take your breath away with its amazing views.
  • Cyclades islands – this island group in the Aegean Sea includes 220 islands forming a circle around the sacred island of Delos . If you ask us, the place you need to visit while sailing the Greek islands is Parikia on Paros Island – a picturesque town with a labyrinth of narrow streets and white-washed homes. You can relax on the beautiful Martselo sandy beach and explore Panagia Ekatondapiliani – “the church of 100 doors” .
  • Saronic gulf route – if you don’t have much time, but still want to enjoy sailing the Greek islands with crystal water , the relaxing atmosphere, and the long history – this is a perfect location for you. Amazing architecture, elegant mansions , and many activities ideal for family vacations are waiting for you here.

The best time to sail in Greece is during the summer months of June to September when the weather is warm, the sea is calm, and the islands are buzzing with activity. However, if you prefer a quieter experience with milder temperatures, the months of May and October can also be pleasant for sailing.

Sailing around the Greek islands is generally considered safe, but it’s important to keep an eye on weather conditions and follow any advisories or guidelines provided by local authorities or experienced sailors. It’s also recommended to have some sailing experience or hire a knowledgeable skipper to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey.

For your first time visiting Greece, I recommend starting with Athens, the capital city, to explore its rich history and marvel at iconic landmarks like the Acropolis. Afterwards, make your way to the stunning island of Santorini, known for its breathtaking sunsets, picturesque villages, and stunning volcanic landscapes.
