Today, Live Nation is pleased to confirm that most of the North America dates of Madonna’s Celebration Tour have been rescheduled and will take place immediately following the originally announced UK and Europe dates. Updated itinerary below. Tickets for the previously scheduled shows will be honored on the new dates. This includes all dates except Los Angeles and one date in New York due to a venue change, detailed below.  Getting all shows rescheduled was the number one priority. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts a few shows noted below will be canceled. Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future. The Celebration Tour will officially kick off with four sold out shows in London this October, followed by shows across Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands throughout the remainder of 2023.  The North American leg will begin on December 13th in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. Tickets for the original show at MSG will be automatically refunded to the original purchaser by Monday, August 28th. Ticketmaster will then provide all affected fans with a dedicated link and a unique code based on the quality of their previous seat locations to purchase tickets to the new date at Barclays Centre.  Advance sales start Tuesday, August 29th and run through Thursday, August 31st. If tickets remain, they will go on sale to the public starting Friday, September 1st at 10am ET. In Los Angeles, fans holding tickets to the shows previously scheduled at Crypto.com Arena (9/27/23, 9/28/23, 9/30/23 & 10/01/23) and Kia Forum (1/7/24 & 1/8/24) will also have an opportunity to purchase tickets to the new Kia Forum dates prior to the public. Ticketmaster will provide all affected fans with a dedicated link and a unique code based on the quality of their previous seat locations to purchase tickets for their specific rescheduled event. Fans unable to purchase tickets to the corresponding shows will have a second presale opportunity starting Friday, September 1st through Friday, September 8th to purchase tickets to any of the five Kia Forum performances. “Welcome to the party, bitches,” Madonna previously announced for her global Celebration Tour . Commemorating four decades of the superstar’s biggest hits, Madonna kicked off the U.S. leg of her 2023-2024 run of concert dates (including rescheduled dates ) in December, performing in over 35 cities across North America and Europe.

Initially set for July 2023, Madonna had to postpone the Celebration Tour in June after getting hospitalized due to a bacterial infection. “My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” Madonna shared in a statement online in July. “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”

During her first week of the Celebration Tour at a stop in Antwerp, Belgium, Madonna took a minute to address her recent hospitalization. “Less than four months ago, I was in a hospital and I was unconscious, and people were thinking, predicting that I might not make it,” Madonna told fans at Belgium’s Sportpaleis Arena. “So, it’s a fucking miracle that I’m here right now. My mother, God bless her, she must be watching over me — she said, ‘Girl, it’s not your time to go.'”

Madonna also recently spoke about the “near-death experience” during her Los Angeles concert in March, even addressing her doctor who was in the audience and the first words she said after getting out of her coma .

“It’s called a near-death experience, and I’m not kidding, it was pretty scary,” Madonna said. “Obviously, I didn’t know for four days because I was in an induced coma, but when I woke up, the first word I said was, ‘No.’ Anyway, that’s what my assistant tells me.”

The icon later told the audience, including this writer, at the Forum, “I’m pretty sure that God was saying to me, ‘You want to come with? You want to come with us, wanna go this way?’ And I said, ‘No!'”

“The oppression of the LGBTQ+ is not only unacceptable and inhumane; it’s creating an unsafe environment; it makes America a dangerous place for our most vulnerable citizens, especially trans women of color,” Madonna shared in a statement on Instagram. “Also, these so-called laws to protect our children are unfounded and pathetic. Anyone with half a brain knows not to fuck with a drag queen. Bob and I will see you from the stage in Nashville where we will celebrate the beauty that is the queer community.”

With dates scheduled throughout April 2024, Madonna will continue to travel all across the United States for the Celebration Tour , including stops in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Austin.

Madonna Celebration Tour Set List

Madonna’s tour features some of the legend’s most iconic songs and moments throughout her career.

“Madonna, I dare you to do a world tour and play your greatest motherfuckin’ hits,” Amy Schumer dared the singer in the tour announcement clip , which included appearances from Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Diplo, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens, Meg Stalter, Eric Andre, and Bob The Drag Queen, who will support Madonna on the road.

“Four decades … as in, 40 years” Madonna replies. “As in, all those songs?”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer performs tracks from the opener “Nothing Really Matters” to “La Isla Bonita,” which she also sang with Schumer in the tour announcement clip.

At a recent stop at the Kia Forum in L.A., Madonna’s set list also included “Holiday” from her self-titled debut to the disco anthem “Hung Up” from 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor to the title track from 1998’s Ray of Light — there’s no shortage of Madonna’s greatest songs to choose from.

She’s a trendsetter, an icon, a material girl — and now she’s going on tour! We’re talking about the one and only Madonna, heading to State Farm Arena on Sept. 5.

Madonna has officially set the dates for “The Celebration Tour,” which spans across North America and Europe. The exciting announcement came with a creative rollout, including a video that paid tribute to Madonna’s 1991 documentary, “Truth or Dare.” In the tour announcement video, Lil Wayne, Eric André, Jack Black, Judd Apatow, Diplo, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens, Meg Stalter, and more sit around with the songstress at a dinner party. While playing a NSFW game of truth or dare, Schumer dares Madonna to go on tour. Clearly, the legend takes the game seriously and doesn’t back down from a dare, because we’ve got a tour, ladies and gentlemen!

Madonna has announced details about her upcoming world tour, dubbed The Celebration Tour , confirming the project in a starry video that mirrors a scene from the 1990 documentary Truth Or Dare.

The video – see it below, but it’s probably NSFW – features the singer at a dinner party with guests including Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Judd Apatow, Diplo and others, with each playing the Truth or Dare game. When it comes to Amy Schumer’s turn, she dares Madonna to go on a tour performing her many hits. Madonna takes the dare.

Madonna announces 2023 tour that will celebrate her greatest hits

Madonna is getting ready to "express herself" all over again with her latest global tour.

On Tuesday, the music icon announced a new 35-city global tour, aptly named "Madonna: The Celebration Tour." The 64-year-old shared the news on her Instagram page and revealed that the tour would feature hits from across her four decades performing.

"Come join the party! 🎉💃🏼🎵🕺🏾🎤," she captioned the post.

The singer also teased the news in a video that paid tribute to her 1991 film "Truth or Dare." In the four-minute clip, Madonna is joined by several stars, including Amy Schumer, Jack Black, Lil Wayne and Judd Apatow, for a game of truth or dare.

Toward the end, Schumer dares Madonna to go on a tour and sing all of her best hits. It's a challenge that the icon gladly accepts.

A release posted to Madonna's website said the tour would follow her "artistic journey" and pay special homage to New York City, the place where her career began.

“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” she said.

Four songs into Madonna ’s long-awaited Celebration Tour and a technical hitch gives her a chance to chat for a little longer than was probably planned.

She tells the crowd of her early days being “hungry, broke and scared” in New York, with a lack of support from her father, who wanted her to come back home.

“But I was not about to go back,” she declares. “Because I am not a quitter!”

Popular on Variety

But not Madonna. After postponing the scheduled first leg, the tour finds itself starting – a mere 20 minutes late – at London’s O2 Arena, the very venue where, in 2015, she famously fell down the stairs after a cape malfunction at the BRIT Awards.

Those of us who were close enough to hear the thud as she hit the floor like a pole-axed prize fighter that night were amazed when she simply got back to her feet and got on with the show. And tonight, she metaphorically climbs off the canvas of that hospital stay to reclaim her pop heavyweight crown, a metaphor helpfully supported by the elaborate boxing set-up utilized during the lead-up to the show’s second act.

There are few signs that Madonna was fazed by the fraught run-up, let alone the lengthy “reset” required after her punky rip through “Burning Up.” She may sigh, “This is exactly what you don’t want to happen on your opening night,” but she simply gets her hype man Bob the Drag Queen up to tell jokes, while reminiscing about the days when she would trade “blowjobs for showers” in ‘80s NYC.

And for once, Madonna – whose relentless commitment to the present and future of her music had always previously prevented her from playing the fantasy setlist her catalog seemed to be crying out for – is here to celebrate her four decades at the top with almost every song a fan – whether casual or obsessive – could dream of.

Furthermore, tonight she lays claim not just to her own history, but also to her influence on music and the wider world over the last 40 years. Not for nothing did the set start with “Nothing Really Matters” and its refrain of, “It all comes back to me”.

There are nods to her activism – including a passionate plea for peace between Israel and Palestine and tributes to those we have lost to AIDS – and her trailblazing, via a montage of negative news headlines and video footage from across her career. It’s a timely reminder that, in an age where anyone with a million streams that gets a new haircut can be hailed as “iconic,” Madonna really has achieved that status, over and over.

There are snippets of other people’s music throughout – a snatch of Sam Smith’s “Unholy” here or Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” there, plus a surprisingly poignant acoustic cover of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive”. Some of her children make on-stage cameos, and even her ex-husbands appear briefly on screen. There are tributes to Sinead O’Connor and, more controversially, Michael Jackson, via a dubious mash-up of “Billie Jean” with “Like a Virgin”.

But mostly, it’s about Madonna and her songs. Taylor Swift has undoubtedly crystalized the concept of musical ‘eras’ in the public consciousness, but Madonna is no slouch when it comes to giving each phase of her career a distinct look and sound.

And tonight, she flits seamlessly between different stages of her life, sometimes via a costume change, sometimes by climbing into an illuminated portal that sees her fly over the crowd on her way to another time and place.

From the joyous early ‘80s dance-pop of “Get Into the Groove” and “Holiday”; to big ballads such as “Live to Tell” and “Bad Girl”; to the raunch of “Erotica” (in which Madge gets to saucily, um, interact with her younger self via a lookalike in the iconic “Blonde Ambition” get-up) and “Justify My Love”; to the sheer, irresistible pizazz of “Vogue,” “Don’t Tell Me,” “La Isla Bonita,” “Ray of Light,” “Hung Up,” “Like a Prayer” and so many others; this show is proof that there is no such thing as too much Madonna.

True, the lack of a live band occasionally makes things lack a little punch (most notably on a glitchy “Die Another Day”). But overall, tonight shows that while – just like 40 years ago – Madonna still doesn’t know how to quit, boy has she learned how to come back.

But thankfully, she did and, by the end, all the different iterations of Madonna from across the decades are on stage, the lookalikes hugging each other with delight during “Bitch, I’m Madonna,” while the real deal stays center stage and supremely focused.

Still dancing, still singing, still the one and only Madonna.

Madonna Prepping For Biggest Show Ever on Copacabana Beach to Cap Celebration Tour

Madonna is closing out her career-spanning global Celebration Tour in the splashiest way possible. On Monday (March 25), the singer announced that she will play her biggest show to date on May 4th on iconic Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

The gig will be free of charge to Madonna's fans as a thank you to all the supporters who came out to celebrate her four decades of hit-making on the tour. Sponsored by Itaú Apresenta, the concert will mark Madonna's first show in Brazil since 2012, with entrance available to fans on a first come first serve basis on the day of the event.

With the stage slated to sit in front of the Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel, the one-off concert will be broadcast live on TV Globo.

The Celebration tour was announced in Jan. 2023 with an all-star promo video and then subsequently put on hold when the singer was rushed to a hospital in June of that year with a " serious bacterial infection ." The hospitalization resulted in the tour being pushed back from July to October, with the North American dates - which were originally slated to kick off the run on July 15 in Vancouver - delayed until this year.

Since launching in London in October, the Celebration tour has hit 14 countries and is currently winding its way through the final U.S. dates, including a show at American Airlines Arena in Dallas Monday night, followed by gigs in Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami and Austin before a run to Mexico City for a five-night late April run at the Palacio De Los Deportes.

The famed Copacabana Beach has been the setting for a number of huge concerts in the past, including a 1994 New Year's Eve show by Rod Stewart which drew nearly 4.5 million fans and a Rolling Stones show in 2006 that packed 1.5 million onto the beach.
