About Segway Maui

All Maui Segway rides and tours begin with a free continental breakfast, followed by personalized training.  After you have learned to operate your Segway, the tour leader will take you to interesting and  historical sights in

Lahaina, such as the Banyan Tree, Courthouse, Front Street, seawall, harbor, Jodo Mission’s Giant Buddha, Kamehameha Iki Park, Mala Wharf, the old Lahaina prison, and more.  The photos and video below show some of the sights on the Segway tour of Lahaina.  You can choose a tour length between one hour and three hours, and a tour time of the morning, mid-day, or afternoon.  Group tours generally are limited to 6 people.  In addition to these scheduled group tours, Maui Segway also offers individual private or family tours custom designed for your own preferences.  Such special tours can be up to 4 hours long and can include time for a snack or picnic or shopping.

Segway tours are for people of all ages, 10 and above.  Many seniors report that riding a Segway is easier than walking the long distances that would be required to cover so many sights in just a couple of hours.

Segway also offers a Treasure Hunt Hiking Tour for kids or for the whole family.  This 3-hour tour covers two miles with light hiking, swimming in a lagoon, and a map with treasure hunting for the kids to find prizes.

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind Segway tour as you roll around town and discover the beauty and history of Lahaina, find out where to shop, eat and entertain yourself.  

You will ride over Old Lahaina Town, a picturesque town featuring several shops, restaurants and art galleries; and during the early 1900's it was the capital of the Hawaiian Kigdom and the world's center of the whaling industry.

Its main street, Front Street, is ranked one of the "top ten greatest streets" by the American Planning Association. You will go through a brief safety video and training and get on your Segway for your unique and fun ride!

There will be plenty of opportunities for photo stops at Lahaina's key landmarks while receiving expert commentary on Lahaina and its surroundings from your Segway guide.

Your tour also features complimentary photos downloaded to your email or social media and a small group setting, with a maximum of 6 participants per guide. Several tours available:

Guidelines:

• Must be 14 years old and way at least 100 lbs. to operate Segway.
• No pregnant women may participate
• Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult guardian who must sign the insurance waiver
• Anyone suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to ride.
• All participants must wear closed toe shoes & protective gear (helmet & safety reflective T-shirt)

He managed to talk the entire 12 hours! It takes talent and skill to be able to do that! My favorite part of this trip was when we stopped at the waterfalls and he convinced me to jump off the cliff with him. It ended up being so fun that I did it twice! When it is said ‘it’s not the destination that is important, it’s the journey’, it could very well have been talking about the Road to Hana. As has been mentioned by others, Hana itself is underwhelming. However, the road to… is anything but! Spectacular views of cliffs, waterfalls, headlands etc greet you at almost every turn (and yup, there are plenty!) The input of our guide, Quinn, was also fantastic, bringing to life the geography, geology, flora, fauna, history, language, customs and trivia of not only what we passed, but of the whole of Maui, and other islands. Likeable dude for sure that was made for this. Whole heartedly made to share his passion and knowledge of Maui. A true historian. You can really tell that he cared and that he wanted everyone to enjoy the adventure. I was riding solo and he allowed me to sit in the passenger side since i was the first person on gis puckup. To all of my solo travelers, I highly recommend sitting in the passenger side if you can. Especially during this ride. Definitely pay attention to the warnings of bringing motion sickness meds if you tend to get car sick. The more close you are to the front of the bus, the more likely you will not get motion sickness. Everything from the waterfalls to the black sanded beaches was breathtaking. Unfortunately , when we went , it was rainy and we were unable to swim in the water down where the waterfall stop was due to bacteria and the merkiness of the water. I appreciated him letting us know because no one wants to get sick from bacteria. Eric definitely looked over our best interest. One word of advice.. If you are to be back in a certain amount of time while at a stop.. DO NOT BE LATE. I was 5 mins late on one stop and everyone in the group was NOT happy. Eric always remained nice and patient with everyone. He offered to take pics if you needed and let you explore each stop yourself. The lunch was nice along with beverages and snacks. He made sure each side of the bus was able to get the pics and views equally. I would definitely recommend if you want to really get the full experience if the road to Hana. This is not a quick trip.
