Producers Michael Harrison and David Ian are delighted to announce that their smash hit production of the musical ANNIE will embark on a UK tour opening at Curve, Leicester on Saturday 25 February 2023.

This production enjoyed sell-out UK and Ireland tours throughout 2015/16 and in 2019, as well as extended seasons in both the West End and Toronto – and now it's back on tour once again!

With its award-winning book and score, this stunning production includes the unforgettable songs ‘ It’s the Hard Knock Life ’, ‘ Easy Street ’, ‘ I Don’t Need Anything But You ’ and ‘ Tomorrow ’.

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.

Determined to find her real parents, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks.

Full Cast Announced For Annie

The full casting for the forthcoming UK and Ireland tour of the smash hit production Annie The Musical has been announced. Opening at Curve, Leicester on Saturday 25 February 2023. Joining the previously announced Craig Revel Horwood and Paul O’Grady, will be Scottish BAFTA winner Elaine C Smith and Jodie Prenger, all starring as ‘Miss Hannigan’ at various venues. Alongside them will be Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks, Paul French as Rooster, Amelia Adams as Grace Farrell, and Billie-Kay as Lily St. Regis. The title role of Annie is shared by Zoe Akinyosade, Harlie Barthram and Poppy Cunningham. They are joined by three teams of young performers who play the residents of Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.

Full tour cast for ”Annie” unveiled, with Jodie Prenger, Elaine C Smith and more joining musical

Complete casting has now been revealed for the upcoming touring production of Annie .

Charles Strouse, Martin Charnin and Thomas Meehan’s seminal musical follows a young orphan who is adopted by a billionaire, much to the chagrin of her orphanage’s owner. The show has numbers such as “It’s the Hard Knock Life”, “Easy Street”, “I Don’t Need Anything But You” and “Tomorrow”.

It is directed by Curve’s artistic director Nikolai Foster with set and costume design by Colin Richmond, choreography by Nick Winston, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound design by Richard Brooker.

The production previously ran in the West End with Miranda Hart as Miss Hannigan, and is now primed to begin performances on 25 February 2023 at Curve in Leicester.

Already announced in the show are Craig Revel Horwood and Paul O’Grady, sharing the role of Miss Hannigan. Joining them as the devilish orphanage matron will be Elaine C Smith and Jodie Prenger, who will appear at various venues – see below for more details.

Also cast are Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks, Paul French as Rooster, Amelia Adams as Grace Farrell, and Billie-Kay as Lily St Regis. The title role of Annie is shared by Zoe Akinyosade, Harlie Barthram and Poppy Cunningham. They are joined by three teams of young performers who play the residents of Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.

Horwood will appear in Leicester, Birmingham, Oxford, Dartford, Nottingham, Woking, Cardiff, Bradford, Southend, Bromley, Norwich, Milton Keynes, Blackpool, Wolverhampton and Belfast, with O’Grady in Newcastle, Edinburgh, Southampton, Liverpool, Dublin, Wimbledon and Bristol. Smith will perform in Aberdeen and Glasgow, with Prenger performing in Stoke and Llandudno.

Annie originally opened on Broadway in 1997, running for nearly six years. The musical won seven Tony Awards including Best Musical.

Craig Revel Horwood is scheduled to appear as Miss Hannigan in Leicester, Birmingham, Oxford, Dartford, Nottingham, Woking, Cardiff, Bradford, Southend, Bromley, Norwich, Milton Keynes, Plymouth, Dublin (22 – 26 August only), Blackpool, Manchester (excluding Saturday’s performances), Sunderland (excluding Saturday’s performances), Wolverhampton (excluding Saturday’s performances), Sheffield (excluding Saturday’s performances), Hull (excluding Saturday’s performances), Belfast (excluding Friday and Saturday’s performances) and Crawley (excluding Saturday’s performances).

Elaine C Smith is scheduled to appear as Miss Hannigan in Aberdeen and Glasgow while Jodie Prenger is scheduled in Stoke-on-Trent and Llandudno.

UK Tour of ANNIE Announces Full Cast, Featuring Lesley Joseph & Craig Revel Horwood

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan's orphanage. Determined to find her real parents, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie's search...

Craig Revel Horwood is probably best known as a judge on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing. His West End Theatre credits include: 'Munkustrap' in "Cats" at the New London Theatre, "Miss Saigon" at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and 'Harry' in "Crazy for You" at the Prince Edward Theatre which took him to the US and Germany before re-creating the show for Susan Stroman in South Africa. Other theatre credits in his native Australia include: "West Side Story", the Australian and New Zealand tour of "The Danny La Rue Show"; "La Cage Aux Folles"; "Me and My Girl" and 'Norman' in the hit comedy play "Ladies Night".

Lesley Joseph is best known for playing 'Dorien Green' in the hugely successful sitcom "Birds of a Feather" alongside Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson . They recorded over 100 episodes over a period of nine years. Lesley and her co-stars returned to our screens in "Birds of a Feather in 2013 with a second series airing earlier this year. Lesley's theatre credits include 'Miss Hannigan' in "Annie" at the West End's Victoria Palace and also on national tour. Her other touring credits include "Calendar Girls" and "Hot Flush!".

They are joined by Alex Bourne as 'Oliver Warbucks', Holly Dale Spencer as ' Grace Farrell ', Jonny Fines as 'Rooster' and Djalenga Scott as 'Lily'. The company also includes James Alan- Evans. Lewis Bradley , Nic Gibney, Sinead Kenny, Michael Lin, Alice Liveing, Megan Louch , Callum McArdle, Benjamin Mundy, Steven Oliver , Heather Scott-Martin , Anne Smith , Kate Somerset How. Sharing the title role of 'Annie' will be Madeleine Haynes, Isabella Pappas and Sophia Pettit.
