City Circular Service is an innovative transportation network, introduced by KSRTC for first time in the state of Kerala. The city to have the first launch will be Thiruvananthapuram. After this it will be introduced in other major cities like Kozhikode, Kochi etc. This is the first public transportation system in Kerala with Hope on Hope Off model.

The City Circular (CC) Service of KSRTC is making a paradigm shift in the operation of buses in the city. This novel facility would provide a delightful experience to the general public who rely on KSRTC’s city bus services for daily commuting. The service provides a convenient and robust solution to the general public, who visit the various offices, shop, markets, etc inside the city on a hop-on hop-off fashion. Hop On Hop Off (HOHO) is very popular among the tourists around the world. But in this case, this is mainly meant for the routine commuters. The tariff is also affordable. Further, this connects almost all the places within the limits of the Thiruvanathapuram city. These buses will connect government offices, hospitals, tourist spots and other major areas. In the First Phase of KSRTC City Circular service, there are 7 routes. These are operated in circular routes at fixed intervals. Bus services would be available, in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions. So, a passenger can board the bus from a stop (HOP ON), and then can alight at another stop (HOP OFF). This would get repeated until the passenger reaches the desired destination. The highlight is that the passenger will not be forced to wait at a stop for more than 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the time of travel. In the next phase, eight more circles will be introduced widening the horizon of CC services. The unique feature of this transport is that all the city circular services will have a unique colour. A passenger can identify the destination of the bus by the colour of the circle.

• Provides 24 hours of unlimited travel in any city circular buses.

Travel Card

• Based on RFID technology.
• Introductory offer is Rs 50 per card free for the first charging.
• Card value is Rs 100 per card.
• Maximum recharge limit is Rs 2000.
• Travel card can be recharged by conductor, depots and recharge points across the city.

KSRTC's colourful circular city services woo commuters in Kerala capital

Thiruvananthapuram: Circular city services have been launched by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) in Thiruvananthapuram with buses sporting attractive colours. On the inaugural day, 38 services were conducted by the City depot of KSRTC and 28 by the Peroorkada depot. These buses are painted with colours such as red, blue, magenta, yellow, violet and green.

Mobile app soon Incidentally, only a few passengers boarded the circular services in the morning on the inaugural day as there were no destination boards on the front side of the buses. In fact, the boards were fixed only on the sides of the public carriers. Later in the afternoon, KSRTC authorities installed the place names on the front side and some passengers boarded the buses.

According to the authorities, route maps of the circular services would soon be displayed at all bus stops in the city. A mobile app too for passengers is planned, they added.

“We need at least three months to attract regular commuters to the circular services,” said a KSRTC official.

Frequency, fares The circular services are conducted at intervals of 15 minutes during peak hours and 30 minutes during non-peak hours. While the minimum charge on these buses is Rs 10, the maximum is Rs 30.

Rahul Gandhi, Telangana CM Revanth travel in state transport bus in Hyderabad

H yderabad (Telangana) [India], May 10 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy travelled in a state-owned Road Transport Corporation bus here and explained to the passengers about various schemes included in the party's Manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul and CM Reddy boarded the RTC bus at Dil Sukh Nagar in the city.

Rahul inquired about the free bus travel facility for women on the RTC buses.

Rahul Gandhi explained to the passengers about Yuva Nyay, Kisan Nyay, Nari Nyay, and Shramik Nyay as included in the Congress Manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Meanwhile, in a public rally in Medak, Telangana, on Thursday, the Congress leader vowed to fill 30 lakh government jobs once the opposition coalition, INDIA bloc comes to power at the Centre.

Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over unemployment woes in the country. He alleged that PM Modi "made crores of youth" unemployed.

"Narendra Modi made crores of youth of the country unemployed. But the Congress party has come up with the scheme of 'first job is permanent'. In this scheme, we will give every educated youth the right to an apprenticeship of Rs 1 lakh. Then as soon as the INDIA government is formed on June 4, we will start the work of filling 30 lakh government jobs," Gandhi said while addressing the gathering in Medak.

Gandhi alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party had claimed to "destroy the Constitution" while calling the ongoing general elections an "election between two ideologies."

"Our Constitution protects the poor, tribal and backward people in the country. Before the Constitution was formed, the poor people in India did not have any rights. The book of the Constitution is the voice of your heart, which has been achieved by the Congress Party and crores of the people of India after decades-long struggle. But the people of BJP have clearly said that they will destroy the Constitution," he said.

"This election is between two ideologies. On one side is the Congress Party and the INDIA alliance, which are engaged in saving the Constitution. On the other side are Narendra Modi, BJP and RSS, who are trying to destroy the Constitution. We will protect the Constitution. No power can destroy the Constitution of India," Gandhi added.

The Congress leader further alleged that PM Modi has "worked for people like Adani" while promising to make "crores of people millionaires."

"Narendra Modi has worked for people like Adani. Today, 22 people in the country have as much wealth as 70 crore people. Now the Congress party will make crores of people millionaires. One woman will be selected from every poor family in the country and the Congress Party will send Rs 1 lakh per year to her account," he said.

Gandhi also vowed to conduct a caste census in the country after coming to power.

"In India, the population of backward, tribal, Dalit, poor general and minority classes is around 90 per cent. But they do not get to participate in the country. Therefore, we have decided that a caste census will be conducted all over India. So that people of every section can know what is their population is and participation in the country," he said.

Voting for all 17 seats in Telangana will take place on May 13 in the fourth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. (ANI)
