Six Reasons Why Going To Gigs Alone Is The Best
So you want to go see that metalcore band you love but none of your friends like that “shouty” music? Or you REALLY want to go check out that new artist on TikTok you discovered but all your mates won’t go to a gig where they only know one song? Or worse, your group of friends cannot get themselves organized and work out which show and when to go on a tour, so you’re worried you’ll miss out on tickets. Let them be miserable and start living your best life by going to concerts by yourself. Trust us, it’ll be the best thing you’ll ever do!
Going to gigs alone can be daunting. What am I going to do with myself in between sets? Are people going to think I’m weird? Why would I not want to share the experience?
Listen, we are all for sharing the experience, but sometimes it’s either missing out or going alone, and in those cases we definitely recommend going alone. Here’s a few reasons why you’ll never regret it once you build up the courage to go through with it.
1 . See artists you really REALLY want to see
Imagine the FOMO of missing your favourite band on their new tour, hearing all those new songs live, seeing everyone post about it. Don’t let that happen, and get that ticket. Plus you then get to tell the pals who didn’t want to come how you saw that band or artist before they blew up or how they played that one B-side track that everyone loves – now who has FOMO?
2. Meet new friends
It’s no secret that music brings people together. That moment when everyone’s favourite ballad hits and there’s not a dry eye in the building, you turn to your left or right and suddenly you bond with a stranger over your favourite song. For the metalheads, we also recommend mosh pits, follow the rules of the pit but what a way to make new friends!
3. The freedom
Now hear us out – but going to a gig alone means you can get to the venue when you want, you can go to the loos when you want, you can stand in line at the merch for hours and no one will ask if you’re sure you want to wait. And no one will drag you home when you want to wait after the show has finished and find every piece of confetti or ask for the setlist.
4 . It’s a cult
You are not alone in going to gigs by yourself, you’d probably be surprised by how many people do the same thing. Some fan groups even have entire sub cultures of going to gigs alone (shoutout to Frank Turner’s solo armada, we see you!) – bringing us back to reason #2, new friends.
5. Confidence boost
Going to a gig by yourself will do wonders for your confidence. Sure the first time might feel a bit awkward and weird, but isn’t it always? Remember your first day of school? And then it was kind of okay after a while (let’s ignore our teenage years…) Once you’ve done it and experience all of the divinity of a solo gig you’ll feel free as a bird.
6. Experience the music your way
Whether you love hanging out by the bar, need to be front row, prefer seats or want to leave a bit earlier to catch the last train – the world is your oyster! The experience is yours, you don’t need to coordinate with someone else, rely on them to enjoy the show as much as you are and have as much of a good time as you are. And frankly, if you took a chance on a new genre or new artist and it isn’t your vibe, you can just go home. Glorious.
So there you have it – doesn’t sound too bad now does it?! At the end of the day it all comes down to you and your artist, a concert will always be a shared experience whether with strangers or friends. The most important thing to do is have fun.
Your next gig awaits
It all starts here.
Create memories to last a lifetime
Whether it’s your favourite band, an evening with friends, discovering new artists or the seventh show on the tour, we are your go-to home for all things live music.
Don’t miss out on the biggest announcement and keep checking back for latest news and last chance tickets.

Artists going on tour in 2023, from sza to taylor swift, all the artists going on tour in 2023.
When it comes to music, 2022 went out with a bang, especially after years of uncertainty in the music industry amid the COVID pandemic. Along with incredible, critically acclaimed releases from artists like Harry Styles (" Harry's House "), Beyoncé ("Renaissance"), The Weeknd (" Dawn FM "), Kendrick Lamar (" Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers "), and SZA (" SOS "), the year was also filled with showstopping tours. Given last year's lineup of beloved artists, 2023 has some big shoes to fill in terms of concert tours, but the year is set to match 2022 with a number of highly anticipated, spectacular shows. Earlier this year, Sting sold his entire songwriting to Universal Music Publishing Group in a deal rumoured to be worth over $250 million (£184 million).
The agreement covers all Sting’s solo songs, including the likes of ‘Shape Of My Heart’, ‘Fields Of Gold’ and ‘Englishman In New York’. The deal also extends to the songs Sting wrote for The Police , such as ‘Roxanne’, ‘Every Breath You Take’ and ‘Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic’.
“I am delighted to have Jody (Gerson, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group) and the team curate and manage my song catalogue,” said Sting.
“It is absolutely essential to me that my career’s body of work have a home where it is valued and respected – not only to connect with longtime fans in new ways but also to introduce my songs to new audiences, musicians and generations.”
Elsewhere, the former Police frontman said that he doesn’t think “any grown man can be in a band” because it’s a “teenage gang” thing. He said: “You have to obey the rules and the gestalt of the band. As much as I love the Stones and AC/DC , it’s hard to see growth in their music. For me, the band was merely a vehicle for the songs and not the other way round.”

Los Angeles-based alt-rocker singer/songwriter.
Blondshell is the angriest, clearest and most vulnerable side of Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Sabrina Teitelbaum. Growing up in the early 2000s in New York City, Teitelbaum sought comfort in the music of legends like Patti Smith, Joy Division and the Velvet Underground. Teitelbaum quickly learned to tell her own stories through songwriting and found relief in confessional lyricism. Over wailing guitars and a masterful sense of melody, Blondshell sings about getting saved “not by Jesus but by validation.” Although her tones are predominantly dark and brooding, there is a bright sense of hope that shines through her adventurous song structures and undeniable hooks.

The Heavy Heavy is a band from Brighton, UK, led by Will Turner and Georgie Fuller. They resurrect the forgotten music of the 1960s with bombastic soul and reverberant harmonies. Springing from the roots of the Malvern Hills and Sussex Downs, The Heavy Heavy create the kind of unfettered rock and roll that warps time and place, breathing new life into sounds from decades ago.

Born out of a desire to reconnect with the uninhibited joyfulness and authenticity of childhood that all of us lose as we grow older, their music is a radical act of reclamation. Free from the constraints of genre and with a wide gamut of sonic touchstones — from the effervescent electronics of Little Dragon, Solange Knowles’ alt-R&B, the emotional edge of Joni Mitchell, and the robust pop melodies of Rihanna — Sans Soucis’ world is one overflowing with vibrant musical textures, pertinent lyrics and a refreshing dose of hopefulness.

Johnny Depp Announces Summer 2023 UK Tour with Hollywood Vampires Band amid Shows with Jeff Beck
Also featuring Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen, Depp's band added six UK dates to their 2023 summer tour — more than four months since his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard
Johnny Depp 's Hollywood Vampires band has added a string of UK concert dates to its upcoming 2023 tour.
In a video posted to social media on Monday, the 59-year-old actor announced the rock group — which also features Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen — will be performing at six arena venues across England in July 2023 with special guests Seether and The Tubes.
Tickets go on presale for the supergroup's fan club on Tuesday at 10 a.m. BST, then venue presales launch Wednesday at 10 a.m. BST for Glasgow, Manchester and London and the following day at 10 a.m. BST for all other venues. General on-sale tickets become available Friday at 10 a.m. BST. Information regarding tickets can be found at Hollywood Vampires' website .
The new tour dates, along with previously announced European concerts set to take place in June 2023, were originally planned for 2021 before Hollywood Vampires canceled all their shows due to pandemic travel restrictions. "We kept trying to make it happen, but unfortunately due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 travel restrictions, it is just not possible," wrote the band in a March 2021 statement.
Hollywood Vampires formed in 2012 and has since released two albums, 2015's Hollywood Vampires and 2019's Rise .
Earlier this month, Depp and Jeff Beck, who released an album together over the summer, began their U.S. tour (which goes through November and has stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville and more) at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. — just over four months since a verdict was reached in his Virginia defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard . His attorneys from the Fairfax, Virginia, trial, Camille Vasquez and Benjamin Chew, attended the show and posed for photos backstage wearing VIP passes.

On June 1, the jury sided mostly with Depp and awarded him more than $10 million in damages. They found that Heard, 36, defamed him in her 2018 op-ed about domestic abuse, though she didn't mention him by name in the article. Additionally, Heard won one of her defamation counterclaims, awarded $2 million in damages. They are both appealing the verdicts.
Earlier this month, Depp spoke to SiriusXM about how it's felt to play concerts again for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic. "Jeff very simply and kindly — and his wife, Sandra — just took me into their house, and I lived with them for months and months and months. Then, we went on the first tour together," he said. "For me, having had to deal with other things at the same time, once those things are down the road and you drop into the tour, it's like you're home."

Nashville Live In Concert Reunion 2023 UK Tour: Line-Up, Dates & Tickets
By Maxim Mower
Link copied
Around five years since the characters of Nashville hung up their cowboy boots and put their simmering feuds aside, the stars of the hit TV are returning to the UK for a long-awaited tour.
It marks the first time Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio and Jonathan Jackson will be performing together in the UK since 2018, which saw them embarking on a sold-out arena tour.
The new run of dates will take the cast of Nashville across Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, London and Cardiff, with the Live In Concert Reunion Tour set to kick off on October 11.
Due to high demand, an additional show has been added at London's Eventim Apollo.
Esten, who played the recovering alcoholic and legendary guitarist, Deacon Claybourne, has a new range of solo singles under his belt, with the Outer Banks star currently readying his debut album.
He'll undoubtedly be performing an assortment of these alongside a slew of hits from Nashville , including the heartwarming ‘A Life That's Good’ and ‘Sanctuary’.
Attendees will be hoping Clare Bowen, who appeared in Nashville as country prodigy Scarlett O'Connor, will play her dark, ominous anthem, ‘Black Roses’.
She'll also be expected to take the stage alongside Jonathan Jackson and her on-screen songwriting partner, Gunner Scott (Sam Palladio), to perform their much-loved track, ‘My Song’.
Both Palladio and Bowen have continued to release music since Nashville ended, with the latter dropping a couple of new singles alongside her husband as Bowen Young.
Completing the quartet of Nashville stars that'll be heading across The Pond in 2023 is Jonathan Jackson, who played the fan-favourite songwriter and producer, Avery Barkley.
Barkley was championed by viewers for his rollercoaster of a character arc.
Jackson releases music with his band, Enation, with the group having put out their most recent project, Ultraviolet Empire in July 2022.
He'll bring a number of these tracks out on the road with him, along with hit Nashville songs such as ‘Everything I'll Ever Need’.

Shakira released her 12th studio album, “ Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran ,” which translates in English to “Women No Longer Cry,” on March 22. The album comes seven years after she released “El Dorado” in 2017.
A mix of pop, reggaeton, regional and rock, Shakira told the Sunday Times that “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” represents “the transformation of pain into creativity, frustration into productivity, anger into passion, vulnerability into resilience.”
“There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled in front of my eyes and I had to rebuild myself in a way, picking up the bones from the floor and putting them all together. And the glue that kept it all together was music,” she said.
The songs included on the album also touch on her public split from former pro-soccer player Gerard Piqué like “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” and “TQG.”

Glastonbury fans will have their final chance to get their hands on tickets for the 2024 event as two resales takes place this week.
The legendary festival returns to Worthy Farm on June 26, with hundreds of thousands of music lovers descending on the Somerset site for the five-day bash.
It was revealed back in March that Glastonbury veterans Coldplay, and first-timers Dua Lipa and American singer Sza, will all headline the Pyramid Stage at this year's festival, with country singer Shania Twain taking the Sunday afternoon legends slot.

Tickets initially went on sale in November and were snapped up in a matter of minutes. Festival-goers had to pay a £75 deposit at the time, before settling their balance during the first week of April.
Anyone who didn't pay their ticket balance by the deadline has now lost their ticket. But it's good news for anyone who missed out the first time around as those unsold tickets will go back on sale this week, giving fans one last chance to snap one up.
The first ticket resale will be for coach packages - which include a festival ticket as well as coach travel from one of a number of UK cities. Coach tickets will go on sale at 6pm on Thursday, April 18.
A general sale of standard tickets will then take place at 9am on Sunday, April 21. This time around, customers will have to pay the full price of their ticket or coach package upfront.
Admission to Glastonbury Festival has risen steeply over the years, with some criticising the festival for upping its prices last year. Back in 1979, in the very early years of the festival, tickets cost a fiver - but attendees will have to fork out more than £350 for the festival this year.
Here's what you can expect to pay for a ticket, as well as any extras you might need such as car parking passes or pre-erected accommodation.
How much are Glastonbury festival tickets?
Festival-goers for the 2024 event will be charged £355 plus a £5 booking fee for a standard ticket. You'll also have to pay for secure delivery of a general admission ticket at £9.95 per order.
This year's ticket price has seen a £20 increase from last year’s event. The festival cost £335 plus a £5 booking fee in 2023, which was up £55 from the 2022 price of £285.
During the main sale in November, customers paid just a £75 deposit when they purchased their ticket, before paying the rest of the ticket price earlier this month. However, any tickets purchased in the resale have to be paid for in full.
That means if you're buying tickets for a large group, you'll want to make sure you've got the funds to cover the total cost before you try and purchase tickets. Any mistakes or delays at the booking stage could see you booted off the page and cost you and your group your tickets. You can read more about the rules around buying tickets here.
How much are coach packages?
If you are buying a coach ticket on Thursday evening, you have to pay the price of your coach travel on top of the price of your festival ticket. There are one-way or return travel options and you can choose between a departure day of Wednesday or Thursday from one of several major cities including Manchester, London or Bristol.
Return coach tickets range from £44 (Bristol) to £151 (Edinburgh). One-way tickets are available from five destinations - Bath (£24), Bristol (£24), London (£40), Reading (£35) and Taunton (£29). You can find the full list of prices on the Glastonbury website here.
Festival-goers who have booked a coach package will not receive their festival ticket until they are on the coach. That means there is no ticket delivery fee, but you will have to pay a £2.75 e-Ticket fee per order for your coach ticket.
How much are car park and campervan passes?
If you want to drive to the festival you will need to purchase a car parking pass so you can park your vehicle on site. A car parking pass costs £55 and can be purchased when you book your ticket.
If you want to bring a campervan or a caravan you need a different pass that lets you pitch up in the designated campervan areas. Campervan tickets for 2024 cost £200 for a standard pitch or £300 for a large pitch.
Passes are only available to general admission ticket holders, not people on coach packages.
How much are tipis?
For people who don't want to camp, Glastonbury has an area of pre-erected tipis that can be hired for the weekend. The festival's Tipi Village offers pre-erected 18-foot tents that can accommodate up to six adults.
A tipi for Glastonbury Festival 2024 costs £1,750 to hire for the weekend - and that does not include the cost of your festival ticket. A resale for tipi hire will take place at 11am on Sunday, April 21.
