Following the 2024 Chevron Championship, the Cognizant Founders Cup is the second of four LPGA Tour events on ESPN+ this season.

This latest deal continues a longstanding relationship between the LPGA Tour and ESPN.

• ESPN televised a schedule of regular LPGA Tour events from 1979-2009, and ABC covered the CME Group Tour Championship from 2015-2018.
• ESPN aired the first two rounds of the AIG British Open from 1982-2002 and all four rounds from 2010-2015, as well as the first two rounds of the U.S. Women’s Open from 1982-2014.
• The first golf ever televised on ESPN was the LPGA Sahara Open on Sept. 8, 1979, ESPN’s second day on air.

LPGA players will compete for a record £95m ($118m) next season, LPGA Tour officials have announced.

The 2024 total prize fund represents a 69 per cent increase from 2021's figure of approximately £56m ($70m).

"The 2024 LPGA Tour schedule reflects our historic growth," commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan said. "With new events and improved geographic flow, enhancing the athlete experience, our global reach and competitiveness have never been stronger.

The 84th Senior PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday, May 23 at Harbor Shores Golf Club in Benton Harbor, Mich.

Television action for the first round is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on The Golf Channel . Fans looking to watch the afternoon action live can tune in for free with a free trial at FuboTV or DirecTV Stream. They can also watch on Sling, which does not offer a free trial, but does have promotional offers .

Last year’s winner, Steve Stricker, had to pull himself out of last week’s PGA Championship, citing fatigue and a loaded schedule that he needed a rest from. Stricker now looks to defend his title on the Senior Tour.

Thomas Detry is playing on the PGA Tour this week, fresh off his tie for fourth in the PGA Championship that got him into the U.S. Open and next year’s Masters. ... This week, the LPGA Tour returns to New Jersey for the second playing of the Mizuho Americas Open. The tournament's field is headlined by Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings No. 1 Nelly Korda and defending champion Rose Zhang, the Tour's most recent winner at the Cognizant Founders Cup. The event will take place at the beautiful Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, NJ.

Players wear black, red pins to remember Grayson Murray

Murray, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, wore red and black, the colors of his beloved Carolina Hurricanes, when competing on Sundays. His family requested that ribbons with the same colors be worn Sunday.

“It's not just about (Sunday),” PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan said. “It's about the weeks ahead, it's about the months ahead. There are a lot of people that are going to be carrying a heavy heart for a long period of time out on the PGA TOUR, and there's a family that is obviously devastated that we need to support.”

The Korn Ferry Tour held a moment of silence Sunday to remember Murray. He won three times on that tour, including twice in 2023 to regain his PGA TOUR card. He won his second PGA TOUR title earlier this year at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Play was stopped at the Visit Knoxville Open for three minutes Sunday when the final group of Frankie Capan III, Rhein Gibson and Sam Bennett was in the first fairway, and Murray's image was displayed on the tournament's scoreboards.
