River Safari model – a nature reserve was initiated in Singapore.  Experiencing this model at Vinpearl Land Nam Hoi An, visitors will sit on a boat and explore the animal world.  The cost of developing River Safari is huge. Also, it is harder to operate than a normal zoo, so this model is rare in the world.

As one of the countries bravely investing in this model, Vietnam owns a wildlife sanctuary at Vinpearl Land Nam Hoi An. The River Safari here has 42,000 individuals of 39 rare species like Bengal tigers, white lions, rhinos, antelopes, giraffes, etc.

Vietnam is a beautiful country with a multitude of unforgettable adventures waiting to be experienced. The fast paced mega-cities are teeming with life and activity which contrasts with the raw natural beauty in the wild jungles and rugged coast lines. Layered on top are complex and ancient cultural influences, from the various hill tribes to the Chinese in the north and the Hindu in the south as well as the historical French colonial period.

Everywhere you go will be a sensory overload, from dodging thousands of scooters in Hanoi, exploring miles of caves on Phong Nha-Ke Bang, experiencing a Vietnam wildlife safari, hanging out in Halong Bay on a traditional junk, exploring the tunnels left over from the war or experiencing the outstanding culinary feasts on offer.

Vietnam has huge diversity in its flora and new and rare animals were discovered as recently as the 1990’s in Bạch Mã National Park . The government has made conservation , habitat protection and scientific study a priority and laws have been enacted to protect areas. This is evident with the setting up of   Xuân Thủy Wetland National Park and Hạ Long Bay and Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Parks (both of which are also designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.)

Scientists and conservationists have so far identified 310 species of mammals, 296 reptile species, 162 amphibian species, 700 freshwater species of fish and 2000 species of marine fish. There are also about 889 species of birds. However, WWF, has reported that nearly 10% of all Vietnam’s wildlife is threatened.

A must-visit destination is Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park , a UNESCO World Heritage Site (2003) which is home to the oldest karst mountains in Asia. The area contains hundreds of huge cave systems and amazing underground rivers. Above ground the park is a pristine tropical evergreen jungle with more than 100 types of mammal which include tigers, elephants, primates and a rare Asian antelope called a soaola. The primary forest is also home to 80+ types of reptile and amphibian and more than 300 varieties of birds.

Hang Son Doong (Mountain River Cave) is the world’s largest ‘discovered’ cave and at more than 5km long, 200m high and 150m wide it is pretty spectacular. A local hunter came across it first in the 1990’s whilst looking for shelter and a British cave exploration team confirmed it as the worlds biggest in 2009. In 2013 the government granted tourist access to this remotely located wonder and multi-day trips are available through a sole operator.

Halong Bay in northeast Vietnam, is known for its karst limestone peaks topped with rain forest and sheltered emerald waters. There are 2000 islands to explore in this UNESCO world heritage site. A kayak is a great way to get around and explore the grottoes and lagoons. After discovering Toad, Stone Dog and Fighting Cocks islets you can head back to your mother ship to recharge and take in the spectacular sunsets. The area is also popular for hiking, rock climbing and scuba diving.

The spectacular Pu Luong Nature Reserve in the northern coastal area of Vietnam is still pretty quiet and unknown to travellers. The setting between two mountain ranges is breathtaking; a lush green valley nestled between them and dotted with traditional villages. There is fantastic trekking and stilted home-stay accommodation options, where you can meet white Thai or Muong minority groups. The park is known for its bio-diverse and rich forest, limestone panoramas, village rice terraces and beautiful scenery.

VinPearl Land Hoi An Theme Park

  • August 7, 2019
  • Megan Polly

VinPearl Land is a brand new amusement park, not far from Hoi An, which officially opened on the 28th April 2018. Since then, the theme park has brought in even more tourists to Hoi An and also attracts locals from Da Nang and beyond. This cleverly designed amusement park mimics the beautiful riverside scene of Hoi An’s Old Town. With the yellow buildings, the lanterns and the river, along with a massive water park, roller coasters and a river safari it’s a dream come true for theme park enthusiasts!

VinPearl is a 15-year-old company, owning Vietnam’s largest international five-star hotel and resort chain. The company is now the owner of 43 facilities, with 17,000 rooms and villas nationwide. After successfully opening a theme park in Nha Trang, the company then built VinPearl Land in Hoi An. Located about 15km from Hoi An’s Old Town, VinPearl Land is built in an up and coming region with the Hilton, Hyatt and other big hotel chains arriving in the area.

In this article, Hidden visits VinPearl Land Hoi An and gives you all the details on how to get there, prices and what’s on offer. Including our suggested route and hidden hints to make the most out of your visit to this spectacular theme park.

Ticket Price: 550,000 VND (24 USD) for an adult and 450,000 VND (19.60 USD) for a child. Children under 100cm tall are free. Arrive after 5 pm and pay just 200,000 VND (8.70 USD) for an adult and 100,000 VND (4.30 USD) for a child.

Hours: VinPearl Land is open from 8:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. every day. Last admission is at 7 p.m.

How to Get to VinPearl Land Hoi An

VinPearl Land is around 15km from Hoi An’s Old Town. So, it is an easy taxi or Grab drive away, costing you approximately 200,000 VND (8.70 USD), taking around 20 minutes.

It’s a mostly straight and easy route from Hoi An to the amusement park and the parking is free. Just follow Cua Dai Road to the brand new roundabout, turn right on the newly laid road and over the giant Cua Dai Bridge. Keep going straight along the empty road until you see VinPearl Land Hoi An on your left, popping up out of the otherwise pretty barren horizon. There is a large parking lot including a covered area for motorbikes. Parking is free, just don’t lose your receipt.

When to Visit VinPearl Land

VinPearl Land Hoi An is mostly all outdoors, so if you don’t mind the heat – we recommend that you pay the full price and arrive early to make the most of the plethora of the facilities the amusement park has to offer. VinPearl Land changes a lot throughout the day, with it being quite early on and then lots of Vietnamese visitors arriving at 5 pm after the ticket price drops.

Be aware that a lot of the amusement parks facilities close around 6 p.m., including the river safari, waterpark and the crafts village. Therefore, we advise against arriving after 5 p.m. You need a full day here otherwise you will struggle to fit everything in. Note that some of the roller coasters don’t open until after 5 p.m., simply because the seats get too hot to sit on! If you are going solely for the roller coasters, save yourself some money and time – arrive after 5 pm.

Make sure to look at the weather forecast before leaving. If there is a chance of thunderstorms, we recommend to go another day. The waterpark and many of the roller coasters are out of use during thunderstorms for the customers’ safety in case there is a lightning strike. Read our guide to Hoi An Weather here to pick the best season to visit.

The waterpark slides and play area.

VinPearl Land Opening Hours and Prices

VinPearl Land Hoi An is open from 8:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. every day. Last admission is at 7 p.m. The river safari and waterpark both open at 9 a.m. If you arrive before 5 pm, the ticket price for a day will be 550,000 VND (24 USD) for an adult and 450,000 VND (19.60 USD) for a child. Although, if you bring a child who is under 100cm tall, they get free entry.

Hidden Hint: Wanting to avoid the midday sun? Arrive after 5 pm to pay just 200,000 VND (8.70 USD) for an adult and 100,000 VND (4.30 USD) for a child.

What is at VinPearl Land?

Entering VinPearl Land, you are greeted with a wonderful view of a beautiful canal surrounded by stunning architecture mimicking that of Hoi An’s Old Town. The grand scale of this place alone blows you away.

As VinPearl Land Hoi An is just over a year old, the amusement park is very clean, well maintained and well thought out. There are plenty of toilets, showers, shops, restaurants and vending machines readily available. This included a well-run locker system. There is a locker desk just before you enter the park and another in the water park. It costs 20,000 VND (0.85 USD) for a locker and you get a key chain for your neck to keep it safe. Therefore you can then ride roller coasters, hop on the river cruise and swim through the waterpark confidently knowing that your items are safe.

Rides on offer at the Funfair

The water park includes a substantial children’s water playground in knee-deep water with an array of slides. So parents can perch themselves in the pool and watch their children run riot. Or grab themselves some popcorn from any shaded ‘Happy Snack’ and watch the family have the time of their lives.

There is also a number of large waterslides, including ones with rafts that hold four people, kamikaze-style high drops and even a ‘Big Tornado’. Hidden suggests that you begin your day at the river safari. It opens at 9 am so hop on the cruise early before the crowds arrive and while it’s still cool. You’ll get a chance to hand-feed the giraffes at this time. Following the cruise moves on over to the aviary to feed the birds and get some colourful photographs.

Once you’ve spent time with the birds, stop at the 3D art gallery on the way to get more awesome photographs as well as cooling yourself down at the hottest part of the day with the air conditioning. Midday is a great time to get some lunch and slap some more sunscreen on.

After that check out the shops en-route to the waterpark – there are lots of outlet bargains to be found here along with decent swimwear shops that you won’t find in the Old Town.

Following the map at VinPearl Land

It’s the water park for the afternoon then if the sun gets too strong, go into the indoor game building to enjoy some trampolining and free arcade games. After your gaming hit the amusement park for the afternoon or head back to the pools.  In between grab some dinner and then catch a 4D movie while your food settles. Head back on over to the funfair before finishing off your day at the water laser show.

Where to Eat in VinPearl Land Hoi An

VinPearl Land Hoi An doesn’t have the typically overpriced basic meals you find in similar establishments around the world. Surprisingly, most things are fairly priced. Many restaurants are open just until after lunch or close at 6 pm. However, there are still many options to choose from right up until closing time.

Lotteria is a fast food restaurant set up very similarly to McDonald’s. This restaurant has everything you would typically expect, including burgers, fries, chicken wings and even rice dishes. These meals range from 31,000 VND to 114,000 VND (1.35 to 4.95 USD). So come here for a fast, easy and cheap meal.

VinPearl Land Foodcourt

If you’re travelling in a large group and you all have different preferences, the best place for you to go is VinPearl Land foodcourt. This food court has many different stalls offering noodle soups, a rice station, sandwiches, grill BBQ, pizza, noodles, rice pancakes, wrap-rolls, desserts and refreshments. With all of these options, it’s bound to please everyone.

A fairytale castle

Deli Land is our family favourite because it has so much for everyone. Situated at the entrance, this conveniently placed restaurant has everything from a fruit bar to a soup bar and loads in between. It’s open from 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. and offers a buffet from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. costing 250,000 VND (10.90 USD) per adult and 175,000 VND (7.60 USD) per child. This slightly higher market restaurant will not disappoint.

If you’re missing shopping at international branded clothing stores, VinPearl Land Hoi An is your go-to. With many different stores such as Ripcurl, factory outlets, Alibaba and Gustavo Gano Italy, come here to shop as you will not find these stores in the Old Town. These stores are also a lifesaver if you forget to bring your bathing suit.

Hidden Hint: Buy non-slip swim shoes in the gift shop or bring plastic flip flops. The ground is searing hot in between the slides and pools!

Watch silk being spun

Hidden’s Thoughts

VinPearl Land Hoi An is an absolute must-see while you’re in the Hoi An area. The cleverly designed scene of Hoi An’s Old Town by the river is an amazing place to visit after spending some time in the Ancient Town. This amusement park is great for a memorable day out with the family or large groups of travellers. Even if you’re not a ‘thrill-seeker’ there’s plenty to keep you busy.

Arriving at 5 p.m. is a good budget option if you just want to spend an hour in the water park and then enjoy the funfair afterwards. However, if you want to enjoy everything that the park has to offer, we strongly recommend arriving early on a dry day, with plenty of sunscreens.  Take many air conditioning breaks and drink lots of water. But most importantly, have fun. – it’s what this whole park is built for!

is there any public transport from hoi an to vinpearl land nam

Hi Franco, there is a free shuttle bus operated by VinPearl that looks like this:

https://hiddenhoian.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/vinpearl-hoi-an-free-bus.jpg

Instructions are in the article above under the “Free Bus to VinPearl Land” section.

There may be public busses that run this route also but we would advise against it as the public system is quite confusing for travellers and times are infrequent.

Where exactly at the Hai Ba Trung street should we wait for the shuttle?

The VinPearl land bus station can be found at 692 Hai Bà Trưng. Below is a google maps link to the exact location as well as a picture of what you are looking for.

Where exactly is the An Bang beach shuttle bus stop.?

The An Bang Beach shuttle bus stop is about 100m to the right of the entrance to An Bang Beach (when you’re facing the beach) on the main road. It is very brightly coloured as per our pics so hard to miss!

Hi. Is the water park still open in the rain..?? Cheers Rob

If it is stormy or there is a chance of lightening they will close the water park for safety reasons for a short period until the weather has passed. This is standard practice in SE Asia. Otherwise it is open year round.

Hi do you offer monthly passes, or season passes at all. Thinking of staying in the area for a month, but would like to visit several times, because i love water parks 🙂

Unfortunately no monthly or season passes just yet but we are locals too and constantly asking! For cost efficiencies the best thing to do is go in the evening when it’s half price for now.

We will update the article as this changes!

Southern Vietnam Mekong Delta River Tour from Saigon to Can Tho , Cai Be With Overnight Cruise 5-Day Tour

Southern Vietnam Mekong Delta River Tour from Saigon to Can Tho , Cai Be With Overnight Cruise 5-Day

I have just had an absolute blast riding round the Mekong Delta with my guide Cong . Everything was set up in advance through the owner Mr.Dong, (Whom I had direct access to from conception to completion of the tour) and my guide arrived at my Hotel the evening prior to departure to brief me and say Hello ! The following morning bike and guide arrived bang on time and this set the scene for the following 6 days. Cong showed me round places totally inaccessible for motor vehicles other than motorcycles. A lot of the farms transport their goods directly to the canal network (which is huge) or tributaries of the 2 Mekong rivers. We visited loads of tourists spots too, temples, war memorials. Cong sorted the hotels and food and boat trips, which was brilliant. I ate so much food and drinks I'd never tried before. Having direct access to the farms , be it animal vegetable or fish , everything was fresh - So no deli belly for me ?. So much learnt, so much seen, I took lots of pics and Cong videoed from his go pro and pinged them over to me via WhatsApp in the evenings. I had a couple of bike mechanical problems (nothing major) which were sorted very quickly at local motorcycle mechanics..... having 60,000,000 motorcycles in the country means there is plenty of local help available, which kind of added to the overall experience. Totally recommend the company to anyone wanting to explore Vietnam - just be straight with them about what you're looking to do and they will do whatever it takes to make sure you come away totally satisfied ? Good people. Andy.

River cruises in vietnam reviews.

We actually did this tour backwards, south to north and customised it a little. Initially we had some doubts about using a local agent, we shouldn't have been worried. From the moment we enquired via Tourradar their agent Long Pham opened a WhatsApp dialogue with me. He is knowledgeable, professional, accomodating and attentive. He was in contact at every step from initial enquiry to making sure we'd checked in for our return flight. The hotels booked were comfortable, clean and well located, each airport meet and return from hotel were private transfers, no multi drop bus rides, all tours booked (except Halong Bay) were private, just two of us, guide and driver, all tour guides used were personable, knowledgeable and flexible to our needs, don't think some of the bigger Western tour operators would have you spend an afternoon drinking rice whine in the home of a local farmer. Tip, either get yourself an eSim (used Holafly which was faultless), or a local sim, that way you have pretty much 24x7 comms open to your Realistic Asia agent.
