The wildest dream is over for Australian Swifties hoping to get tickets to the Eras Tour.

Ticketek today released extra seats for Taylor Swift’s concerts at Sydney’s Accor Stadium and Melbourne’s Cricket Ground in February, which went live at 10am and had sold out by 11.20am.

Tickets for the Melbourne shows went on sale at 4pm via Ticketek’s website but had sold out by 4:55pm.

News.com.au understands there were less than 100,000 tickets up for grabs across both Sydney and Melbourne shows, against the whopping four million people who were expected to try their luck again after the first sale sold-out in June.

Suffice to say, it’s going to be a cruel summer for a lot of people with demand far outweighing supply.

The battle to score second-round tickets proved “traumatising” for diehard fans as they awaited their fate in the all-too-familiar Ticketek waiting lounge Friday morning:

i need financial compensation for being on a ticketek loading screen again — ash-mas 🎄 (@haloswift) November 9, 2023
the ticketek lounge haunts my dreams — astra (@themanwitheaxe) November 9, 2023

i forgot how horrible this ticketek waiting is. this is truly hell — tia ♡ (@bassettbrina) November 9, 2023
there is no ticketek, only lounge — Benjamin Maio Mackay (@BenjaminMM_) November 9, 2023

In some less-triggering news - at least for those lucky enough to be plucked by the Taylor gods - ticket prices are a total bargain, starting from $79,90. There is a catch, though: a large amount of the tickets available are partially-obstructed side view seats.

Ahead of the scramble for Melbourne tickets, Ticketek shared tips on how fans could give themselves their best shot at securing a spot.

“Double check your Ticketek account and payment details are up to date. Have your login details handy as you’ll need them to complete your purchase,” Ticketek’s website advised, adding fans should visit the page “at least 15 minutes prior to tickets going on sale”.

“Follow the designated link for your desired city to be taken to the Ticketek Lounge,” the statement added.

“Please don’t leave the Lounge page or refresh your browser. The page will refresh itself frequently to let more fans through to purchase. Once you’re in the Lounge, sit tight and wait to be let through to the event page.

“Once you’re through, keep an eye on the timer and complete your purchase within the time frame.”

The most uncomfortable lounge in the world.

There will be one final chance to nab tickets when the Ticketek Marketplace sale goes live on November 24.

However, tickets will only be available when – and if – current ticket holders decide they want to sell the prized seats on the website, which is the only authorised platform to sell and purchase Eras Tour tickets.

Swift is bringing her blockbuster tour to Australia in February 2024, kicking off at the Melbourne Cricket Ground with three shows on February 16, 17 and 18.

Additional Taylor Swift tickets sell out in Sydney, new Eras Tour tickets for Melbourne on sale this afternoon

Swifties camped out overnight at Ticketek outlets in both cities for a chance at the new batch of tickets

Additional tickets to Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour in 2024 have sold out for Sydney, with additional tickets for Melbourne going on sale at 4pm AEDT today (November 10).

Swift’s highly anticipated tour broke records earlier in June this year when four million people queued on the event ticketing website, Ticketek, to buy the 450,000 tickets available for five shows taking place across Melbourne and Sydney in February next year.

Due to the high demand, Frontier Touring announced in June that they would be adding two extra shows to the original five . Swift is now set to play three shows at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds between February 16-18 and four shows at Accor Stadium in Sydney between February 23-26.

Yesterday, Frontier announced that additional tickets would go on sale today, including for partially obstructed side tickets that would be released at a starting price of $79.90. The promoter also announced that Ticketek Marketplace will be open from 10am AEDT on Friday November 24 2023 for the official resale of tickets.

It took less than 90 minutes for the new allocation of Sydney tickets to sell out this morning, with Frontier announcing at 11.19am that inventory had been exhausted. Fans can buy additional tickets for Swift’s Melbourne shows via Ticketek at 4pm.

The ABC reported that Swift fans even camped out overnight at  Ticketek offices in Melbourne and Sydney in hopes of getting a ticket. One fan in Melbourne said that she’d been there for 14 hours.

On June 27, Victoria’s Minister for Tourism Steve Dimopoulos announced that Swift’s shows would be classified as a “major event”, joining the Australian Open, Grand Prix and Melbourne Cup. This mobilised Victoria’s anti-scalping laws, which mean that any ticket sold for over 110 percent of its value it becomes invalid. Scalpers would be fined anywhere between $925 to $554,760.

This will be Swift’s first tour in Australia since 2018 when she was here for her ‘Reputation’ tour. Since then she’s released four new albums including ‘Lover’, ‘Folkore’ , ‘Evermore’ and ‘Midnights’ . She’s also re-released several others as part of the ‘Taylor’s Version’ project, the most recent being ‘1989’ .

Tickets to Swift's four Sydney stadium shows sold out in two hours on June 30, while her Melbourne shows sold out in the same amount of time after they went on sale at 2pm.

Frontier Touring said at 4.05pm that all general admission for Melbourne's Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows had "been exhausted", but some VIP and hotel packages were still available.

Earlier at about 11.50am Frontier Touring confirmed Sydney's general tickets had all been allocated with only the pricier VIP and hotel packages left available.

Those who miss out are being warned not to turn to unauthorised resellers with official resales to be offered through Ticketek from September 4.

Reactions on social media ranged from jubilation as fans got their hands on a treasured ticket while others' nightmares were realised.

Many fans slammed the ticketing process which saw some people let in to the site multiple times while others never got past the 'waiting lounge'.

"This randomised system is honestly the most unhelpful thing ever," one person tweeted.

Another said they "waited hours and didn't get let in once so why did some people get let in multiple times to buy multiple tickets to multiple shows !!!"

It was revealed during the week that no advantage was given to fans who jumped onto the Ticketek website early, with the process randomised rather than acting like a queue.

It comes as millions of Aussies have spent hours staring at the 'lounge' screen this week trying to snap up a seat at The Eras Tour .

Two pre-sales sold-out during the week including on June 28 when a record-breaking 800,000 people waited in the Ticketek 'lounge' for tickets to the Sydney shows.

More than four million people in total tried to secure tickets to the Australian tour in pre-sales.

And many fans are still expected to miss out during the June 30 sale despite two more tour dates being added due to "unprecedented demand".

Fans are advised to jump on at least 15 minutes before the sale starts and not to refresh the page once they're in the 'lounge'.

The 12-time Grammy winner is bringing her global tour down under in what will be Swift's first visit since 2018.

In that time the pop star has released four new albums including her latest Midnights and re-records of old fan favourites Fearless and Red .

With legions of fans across Australia her shows in Melbourne and Sydney are attracting huge demand.

The extra shows announced on June 29 means Swift will be the first artist since Madonna in 1993 to play three concerts at the MCG and the first ever to perform four shows at Sydney's Accord Stadium.

Frontier Touring has confirmed no further dates will be added making Friday's sale the last chance for fans to get their hands on a ticket.

Swift is performing at the MCG in Melbourne on February 16, 17 and 18, and at Accor Stadium on February 23, 24, 25 and 26.

Taylor Swift Thanks 'Louder Than Humanly Possible' Crowds in Sydney After 4 Eras Tour Shows: 'Endless Magical Moments'

The singer is fresh off four sold-out shows in Sydney, where guests including boyfriend Travis Kelce, Katy Perry and Rebel Wilson stopped by to see her show

Taylor Swift is feeling the rush after a record-breaking weekend in Sydney, Australia.

The singer, 34, reflected on her four Eras Tour shows in the city on Instagram Wednesday, writing, "Sydney, Sydney, Sydney, Sydney… what a whirlwind of endless magical moments with you. I’m so grateful that we got to be the first tour to play Accor Stadium 4 times."

She continued of the memorable moments from her latest stop on the worldwide tour, "I’ll never forget singing with Sabrina , the chaotic acoustic mashups, and the crowds that were louder (singing AND screaming) than I thought humanly possible. I want to thank all of the Aussie fans for being so positive and passionate, so funny and wild and FUN. Love you forever 🤍."

Swift post featured a carousel of images from the shows, including one of herself sitting at a piano on stage with her support act Sabrina Carpenter .

Swift and Carpenter, 24, duetted together at Friday's show after the "Feather" singer had her opening act canceled due to bad weather delaying the show.

The duo joined forces for a medley of "White Horse" and "Coney Island,” much to the delight of fans.

“9 year old Sabrina singing white horse would never see this s--- coming! I love you so so so dearly Taylor. Always have always will," Carpenter wrote on Instagram as she shared a video of the performance, with her rumored boyfriend, actor Barry Keoghan , leaving a “👑” emoji in the comments section of the post.

“Thank you Sydney for making me feel so welcome!! See you tonight💌,” she signed off the post ahead of her performance opening for Swift on Saturday.

Swift’s VIP tent was also packed over the course of her four shows at the Accor Stadium. On night one, her boyfriend Travis Kelce was in attendance and rocked plenty of friendships bracelets on his wrists as he sang along to Swift’s set.

Katy Perry and Rita Ora were also in attendance and were spotted chatting in the crowd as they waited for the show to start. Ora's husband, filmmaker Taika Waititi , also joined the duo.

After the show, Perry, 39, shared a series of snaps and clips from the concert on Instagram, including a smiling selfie with Swift backstage and a video of herself singing to "Bad Blood," which is rumored to have been inspired by the pair's years-long  complicated relationship .

"got to see an old friend shine tonight ♥️✨," the  American Idol  judge captioned the carousel.

The "Cruel Summer" singer's four nights in Sydney were her second stop on the Australian leg of her tour. She performed in Melbourne the prior weekend to similarly sold-out crowds. During her first night at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, she played to a crowd of 96,000 fans — her biggest audience yet.

Also thanking her thousands of fans who came out to see her in the city, Swift  celebrated wrapping her three shows in Melbourne  in a post on Instagram earlier this month.

"Melbourne, what do I even say to you after over 288,000 of you came and danced with us in the last 3 nights ??!" she wrote alongside a carousel of images from the shows. "That was unforgettable. You were on another LEVEL. Thank you for the memories. I’ll revisit the ones from this weekend often 🥲🫶."

The “Karma” singer's Eras Tour will next head to Singapore, with the pop superstar set to play six nights at the National Stadium starting on March 2.

Taylor Swift Eras tour general sale starts today. Here's what you need to know to grab your ticket

Taylor swift in a gold body suit singing into a microphone with a male dancer behind her

It's the final countdown, Swifties.

Today is the day that Eras tour tickets go on general sale.

Two more Australian shows were announced yesterday, one in Sydney and one in Melbourne.

Ticketek reported that more than  4 million people tried to buy a limited amount of tickets on Wednesday's pre-sale.

Both the Sydney and Melbourne pre-sale tickets sold out within hours.

Which is to say, a lot of people from all around Australia and possibly overseas are going to be logging onto Ticketek today to try their chances.

Here's what you need to know.

What time do Taylor Swift tickets go on sale?

Tickets to Sydney will go on sale at 10am AEST today .

Melbourne will go on sale at 2pm AEST today .

When are the new Taylor Swift Australian tour dates?

Melbourne — melbourne cricket ground (mcg):.

Friday, February 16

Saturday, February 17

Sunday, February 18 (new)

Sydney — Accor Stadium:

Friday, February 23

Saturday, February 24

Sunday, February 25

Monday, February 26 (new)

What are the seating maps for Taylor Swift's Sydney and Melbourne shows?

Here are both the seating maps for Taylor Swift's Australian Eras tour.

The small strips of light green in Melbourne and yellow in Sydney are the affordable G reserve tickets while most of the stadiums consist of D reserve tickets ($199.99) and above.

Sydney – Accor Stadium

Melbourne – MCG

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

There are five tiers of tickets for both Sydney and Melbourne, ranging from $79.90 for G reserve tickets to $379.90 for A reserve tickets.

Each ticketing tier also has a corresponding VIP package that contain a ticket ranging from A reserve to E reserve as well as four prints of the artist, a tote bag, a pin, a tour lanyard and a sticker and postcard set.

These VIP packages scale in price from $349.99 to $1249.90 .

How many Taylor Swift tickets are left?

We're don't know exactly how many tickets are still available.

But we can estimate how many tickets there were to begin with.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics estimated on Tuesday there will be about 450,500 tickets sold — that's only enough for 1.7 per cent of Australia's population.

But considering the two extra shows added and that MCG has a capacity of 100,000 people and the Accor Stadium can hold 83,500 people, it's reasonable to assume that over 600,000 tickets will be sold across all dates.

Is it better to get in the queue early?

You might be ready to go hours before the ticket hub opens but Ticketek says there's no reason to log on early.

That's because their queue isn't applied in chronological order, it's random.

"The randomisation starts once the on-sale commences, so there is no advantage for fans to jump on hours before," a Ticketek spokesperson confirmed to ABC News.

"We recommend that fans log on 15 minutes earlier just so they are ready once the on-sale kicks off."

"Everyone in the Ticketek lounge has as equal opportunity to get into the site regardless of when they have arrived.”

What are Ticketek's tips to getting a Taylor Swift ticket?

On Monday afternoon, Ticketek shared the best way to get a golden ticket.

Here's the advice:

  • Have your Frontier Pre-sale code ready
  • Enter the Ticketek Lounge at least 15 minutes before the sale starts
  • Don't refresh your browser
  • Once you're through, keep an eye on the countdown timer and fill out the details within the time frame.

How many tickets can you buy?

There's a limit of four per customer .

If you want to buy more than four, you have to order with a different Ticketek account as well as a different debit card.

The company says it may cancel tickets for people who are detected as buying more than four with the same email address, billing address, credit card number or other information.

Is there going to be an official Taylor Swift resale?

The official Ticketek resale on their secondary platform Tmarketplace is the only place to get a guaranteed resale ticket .

Ticketek has warned that they will be cancelling and refunding tickets sold on illegitimate third party sites.

The Ticketek Taylor Swift resale will open on Monday September 4 .

Eras already a boom to tourism

Sydneysiders and Melburnians aren't the only ones trying to get their hands on Eras tickets.

A major hotel chain reported a 1129 per cent increase in Sydney bookings after the tour was announced.

The same chain reported a 9400 per cent increase in Melbourne hotel bookings after the tour was announced.

And it's not just hotels that are set for a revenue spike.

Earlier in the month Webjet reported a spike in searches for flights around the Eras tour dates, a 282 per cent increase for Sydney and a 151 per cent increase in Melbourne.

Sydney, Are You Ready? Everything to Know Before Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

Image of Kailah Haddad

With three sold-out shows at the Melbourne’s MCG, Taylor Swift left a trail of memories and melodies in her wake, bidding adieu to her adoring fans who serenaded her both inside the stadium and beyond its gates. Now, Taylor Swift is bringing her Eras Tour to Sydney.

The anticipation is palpable as the Sydney leg of the Eras tour prepares to kick off at Accor Stadium this Friday night, promising four incredible shows.

Gather ’round as we delve into everything you need to know about the concert before it all kicks off in Sydney. From what time to arrive to snagging that coveted Eras Tour merch, let’s dive in.

Taylor Swift In Sydney: Everything You Need to Know

Can i grab merch before the concert.

First things first — let’s talk merchandise. Because let’s be real, what’s a Taylor Swift concert without some epic merch to commemorate the occasion? You’ll have the chance to score some goodies at the presale event happening from Wednesday, February 21 to Thursday 22.

Head on over to the merch stand located at the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Dawn Fraser Avenue to snag your swag. And don’t worry if you miss out on the presale — there will still be external merch stands open from 12 pm on concert days.

You can find out more details about how to secure merch here .

How to Get to the Stadium

Let’s talk logistics. We all know that getting to the venue is half the battle, and we know the crowds are going to be insane. As of right now, public transport is your best bet, and lucky for us, it’s included with our tickets. Just keep an eye out for any disruptions, especially if you’re planning to hop on the train.

And if you’re driving (RIP), remember to pre-book your parking spot — spaces are limited, and you don’t want to be stuck circling the block while Taylor’s hitting the stage.

What Time Does Taylor Swift Come On?

Okay, so you’ve got your merch, you’ve made it to the venue — now what? Well, my friends, timing is everything. Doors open at 4.30 pm, but don’t stress about lining up early. Since all seats are reserved, there’s no need to camp out for a prime spot. Sabrina Carpenter will kick things off at 6.30pm, followed by the queen herself, Taylor Swift, after 7pm. If Melbourne is anything to go by, Taylor came on at 7.30pm every night.

What Can You Bring?

Before you head out the door, let’s do a quick bag check. Bags smaller than an A4 piece of paper are good to go, and don’t forget to make sure your phone is charged and ready to go — you’ll need it to access your tickets. Oh, and speaking of phones, portable chargers are fair game as long as they’re not bigger than your device.

Now, let’s talk about friendship bracelets — a staple among Swifties everywhere. Yes, you heard right, trading these colourful tokens of friendship is totally allowed! However, you can only bring in bracelets that fit snugly on your wrists. And as much as we’d love to deck ourselves out with every accessory under the sun, it’s important to note that carabiners and d-rings won’t make the cut. So, leave those keychains and hooks behind.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Frontier Touring (@frontiertouring)

Professional photography equipment, including GoPros, tripods, selfie sticks, and drones, won’t be making an appearance inside the venue. Neither will large signs, so opt for smaller, handheld signs instead.

With Taylor Swift finally in Sydney and all the details sorted, we’re so keen for the pop star’s four sold-out concerts.

eras tour sydney sold out

WHEN TICKETS TO the highly-anticipated Australian leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour went on sale in June, chaos ensued. Major scrambling and group-chat-planning occurred, but in what felt like the blink of an eye, the last of the coveted tickets were snapped up, leaving many eager fans empty-handed.

Since then, those unlucky fans have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of further available tickets through resale platforms — but now, even better news has come their way, as Frontier Touring has announced one last sweep of tickets will be released for eager fans, just days before Swift is set to touchdown in Australia.

It’s an exciting announcement for those many fans who missed out on earlier tickets when they went on sale in June. With only five original shows — two in Melbourne and three in Sydney — and 450,000 tickets available at the first release, there were always going to be fans left brokenhearted. And even when two new dates were added and the general sale began, many Swifties missed out.

Below, discover everything to know about securing tickets to the Australian leg of Taylor Swift’s tour — including all the details about the last round of tickets going on sale on February 13.

Are there new Taylor Swift Australian tickets available?

Yes, new tickets for the Melbourne and Sydney Eras Tour have been announced as of February 13. Frontier Touring shared this morning that “with the show setup now underway it has been confirmed that limited tickets, including restricted view tickets at $65.90, can be released for sale”.

The tickets — which will be available in an even more limited quantity than before — will be available for all of Swift’s Australian tour dates. The last round of tickets will go on sale here on Tuesday, February 13 at 2pm for all Melbourne concerts, and at 4pm for all Sydney concerts.

It’s sure to be a bloodbath once again — so be sure to log in to your Ticketek account early to pre-load your card details and ensure a smooth as possible process should you be lucky enough to make it through the queue. Once you’ve arrived on the landing page, stay calm and don’t refresh to avoid losing your place in the line. Good luck!

When will Taylor Swift resale tickets go on sale in Australia?

Second-hand tickets are available via Ticketek’s official resale platform, Marketplace — but bear in mind that it’s no easy feat to score even those. “Please note authorised resale tickets are extremely scarce and availability is subject to other fans listing their tickets for resale,” Ticketek have written on the waiting page for Marketplace.

Initially, the Taylor Swift resale was scheduled to open on September 4, however, Frontier rescheduled that date to Friday, November 24. On the platform, strict measures have been introduced to avoid scalping, with tickets unable to be resold for more than 10 per cent above the original price.

What happened when Taylor Swift Australia tickets originally went on sale?

The tickets for Swift’s Australian Eras tour first went on sale in June 2023. The scramble to nab tickets in the Frontier Touring presale event was intense, with more than four million fans reportedly attempting to secure their spot at one of the shows in Sydney or Melbourne.

Nine reported that the number of people who were in the online queue to access tickets set an all-time record for Ticketek. For the most part, the retailer’s site held up despite the traffic, although some users did report glitches or strange on-site happenings. Sydney tickets sold out just before 2pm on the day of the presale following “unprecedented demand.” Melbourne presale opened at 2pm and also swiftly sold out.

In response to the demand, two new dates were added, with one extra in each city. But as the clock ticked by for the general sale, more and more Swift fans went broken-hearted without securing Eras tickets.

Then on September 7, news broke that there would be one more shot for securing tickets. But those hopes for new opportunities were dashed just as quickly as they arose, as Frontier Touring have issued a statement denying that any new  Eras Tour  tickets will be available for purchase.

According to news.com.au, Accor (the hospitality group who own the naming rights to Accor Stadium where the Eras Tour will take place in Sydney) announced it would be selling new category A and suite package tickets for all four of the Sydney shows. The catch, however, was that the tickets would only be available to purchase using Accor Reward points via Accor’s Live Limitless program — 12,000 for the category A tickets, and 35,000 for suite packages. To enter in a points auction would cost 1000 points. However, in a statement issued on Thursday afternoon, Frontier Touring clarified that no further tickets would be available, despite the reports.

“Frontier Touring wish to advise that stories in the media today that Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour tickets will be available through the ACCOR Live Limitless program are incorrect,” the statement read. “ACCOR is not approved for this activity and have confirmed they will be removing this offer immediately. We remind fans that the only safe — and approved — avenue to secure tickets is through the official ticketing agency for the tour, Ticketek.”

What is going on with the Australian Taylor Swift tour?

Tickets to the Eras Tour start at a respectable $79.90 for G Reserve and max out at $1249.90 for the largest VIP Package.

However, the costs didn’t end once fans had secured a ticket. Given Swift is only touring two cities along the East Coast, fans from interstate and New Zealand have had to fork out for flights and accommodation, too. When Swift took her tour to Chicago earlier this month, the weekend saw Chicago book the most hotel rooms on record, with occupancy averaging 96.8 per cent. Naturally, Aussie fans are already ahead, with some reportedly locking in accommodation as early as eight months out from the shows.

That demand posed another problem for those out-of-towners who were lucky enough to score a ticket, as fans report that affordably-priced accommodation quickly already sold out, along with flights.

“Have been looking at accommodation and there is literally nothing left. I didn’t even think about this,” wrote one Twitter user after securing tickets.

“Flights from Perth to Syd jumped to $2k for those dates, let alone accommodation. Scabs everywhere,” another vented.

“Okay, did not expect flights from New Zealand to Sydney to skyrocket like this! How did we not think about this before!” wrote yet another.

Virgin Australia released a statement on the issue, noting “We have seen a whopping 656 per cent increase in bookings to Melbourne and Sydney for Taylor Swift’s concert dates following the ticket release on Wednesday”.

“Swifties based in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide are leading the interstate fanfare with the most booked fares across the concert dates. Bookings are expected to increase again following the second ticket release today.”

The dedication is so strong that an Aussie fan told 9Honey they’d dipped into their housing deposit fund to afford tickets for the first American Express presale.

Why? The answer is simple: It’s Taylor .

One New Zealand-based Stuff culture reporter wrote that she’d already purchased flights for Swift’s Sydney show — prior to the sale going live.

She wrote: “I don’t mind the amount of money I’ll end up spending, or even the Australians I’ll have to interact with — the hope of seeing the person who has shaped my life for 15 years would convince me to do anything.”

Taylor Swift’s Eras tour declared a major event in Victoria

In huge news for die-hard fans, the Victorian government has declared Swift’s Melbourne shows a major event. The Andrews government declared the MCG shows on February 16 and 17, 2024, as a major event under the Major Events Act 2009.

The move was intended to protect fans from scalpers, who buy tickets with the intention to resell them with exorbitant price increases for profit.

“By making a major event ticketing declaration for the concerts, fans are protected from being ripped off by ticket scalpers, ensuring that tickets are available at a fair price,” a statement from the state government read. “Under the legislation, tickets to a declared major event can’t be advertised for resale or resold for more than 10 per cent above their original value.”

“In addition to this, ticket package sellers are required to be authorised by the event organiser, and individual ticket advertisements must also include ticket and seating details.”

The office added that breaches of this legislation could result in fines between $925 and $554,760.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour hits Australian stadiums

Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour - Australia 2024

The Australian leg of The Eras Tour is underway, with Taylor Swift playing the first of three sold-out Melbourne concerts on Friday night, to be followed by four in Sydney.

The crowd was reported at 96,000 for Taylor Swift's first concert at the MCG, making it the biggest crowd she's ever performed in front of at any stadium in the world. The remaining two shows at the MCG are back to back, on Saturday and Sunday night at the iconic Melbourne stadium.

Taylor Swift mania then heads north to Sydney to play four concerts at Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park, with her first show on Friday 23rd February , followed by shows on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. See the full schedule below and click through to see further event details including times, maps, directions and accomodation.

The Eras Tour 2024 Australian Schedule

The tour is one of the most anticipated in Australian concert history, with more than four million people attempting to purchase in excess of 450,000 tickets to her five concerts when they first went on sale. An extra show was added in both Melbourne and Sydney and they too sold out in no time, with prices ranging from $79.90 for GA to VIP packages at $1249.90. Across the globe, the tour has now grossed more than one billion dollars.

The Eras Tour Crowd Capacity

It was initially reported that each of the three concerts at the MCG were expected to be attended by about 86,000 fans, however the figure was announced as 96,000 for the first concert. While this is still short of the almost 110,000 that attended each of the two Ed Sheeran concerts last year, the MCC likens Taylor Swift’s concerts to three consecutive AFL Grand Finals.

Sheeran played his Mathematics Tour concerts ‘in the round’, meaning the stage was in the middle of the stadium with every seat able to be filled, plus seating across most of the arena. The Eras Tour’s large stage is set at one end of the stadium with a long runway, meaning seats behind the stage are unavailable and less of the arena can be filled.

The Eras Tour is believed to be one of the biggest operations the MCG has staged. Brunton Avenue is closed for more than a week as 70 trucks bump in Swift’s stage and then bump it out afterwards. More than 12,000 sq metres of turf is on hand to repair the damage to the ground ahead of AFL season, while more than 5,000 MCG staff will be working at each concert.

There will be no official activations around the MCG in Yarra Park for ticketless fans, however an additional 30,000 fans are still expected to be in the precinct during the concerts each night. The MCG concerts are the biggest crowds she’s played to in her career.

Aerial photo of the MCG

At Sydney’s Accor Stadium, there will be around 75,000 per night at each of the four Taylor Swift concerts, with a total of 300,000 fans attending the shows at the Olympic stadium.

Across all seven The Eras Tour concerts to be held in Australia, a total of almost 600,000 Taylor Swift fans are anticipated to be in attendance. See more concert attendance figures here .

The last time Taylor Swift toured Australia (in 2018), she played four concerts across the country - one each in Brisbane (the Gabba), Sydney (Accor Stadium - then ANZ Stadium), Melbourne (Marvel Stadium), and Perth (Optus Stadium). They were attended by a total of 230,630 fans - see more concert attendance figures here .

Impact on the MCG's playing surface

After AFL players noticed the MCG's playing surface to be “slippery and inconsistent” following Ed Sheeran's two concerts last year, MCC CEO Stuart Fox is confident in the stadium's groundskeepers ability to go ahead and repair in time for the footy, even if it was “quite confronting”.

“Running concerts are always complicated, but running a Taylor Swift concert is going to be even more complicated,” shared Fox in an interview on SEN radio.

“It’s just massive. Building the seating plan, we obviously have people on the turf, but it’s really around the stage production. Seventy semi-trucks coming onto your ground is quite confronting, and you’ve got six days of set-up, three concerts across Friday, Saturday, Sunday evening, two or three days of pack-down.”

Fox also highlighted the minimal amount of time to repair the grounds between Tay’s last Melbourne show on February 18, and the MCG’s first match of the 2024 AFL season.

“Then you’ve got to replace half the turf at a significant cost. And then we’ve got an AFL season three weeks later.”

Additionally, Fox shared that the venue plans on continuing to have “the biggest and the best” of concerts take place at the MCG twice or so a year.

“I think holding concerts are really, really important. What I love is the fact that people who don’t normally come to the MCG get to experience it,” he said.

The first game to take place after Swift’s shows will be Carlton v Richmond on March 14 .

More tickets to Taylor Swift's sold-out Eras tour are dropping today for less than $70 a pop

By Maddison Leach | 3 months ago

More tickets to Taylor Swift's Eras tour have dropped just days before the superstar kicks off her Australian concerts and they're some of the cheapest tickets yet.

The news couldn't come at a better time after Swift made headlines yesterday when she appeared at the Super Bowl to watch boyfriend Travis Kelce win .

Frontier Touring announced on Tuesday morning that limited tickets, including restricted view tickets at $65.90, will go on sale this afternoon.

Additional tickets for Swift's sold-out Melbourne shows will go on sale at 2pm AEDT on Tuesday, February 13.

Extra tickets for her Sydney dates will be available to purchase from 4pm AEDT on Tuesday, February 13, until allocations are exhausted.

All tickets can be purchased from taylorswift.ticketek.com.au .

Frontier Touring has not confirmed how many extra tickets will be available for each show, nor did it detail exactly what types of tickets will be available.

But for millions of Aussie Swifties who missed out on Eras Tour tickets when they went on sale last year, snagging a $65.90 restricted view seat will be like winning the lottery.

Taylor Swift looper

More than 4 million fans tried to buy tickets to the Eras Tour when they first went on sale in June 2023, breaking an Australian record in the process.

Less than half of them actually managed to snag a seat at the concerts at Accor Stadium and the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), leaving millions of fans disappointed.

In response to the unprecedented demand, Frontier Touring released a round of extra tickets for the first time in November 2023.

Some 100,000 additional tickets for seats with "partially obstructed views" went on sale for just $79.99, with tickets for the Sydney show selling out in just 82 minutes.

Now Frontier Touring are doing it again and tickets to the shows are expected to sell out just as fast.

Many fans who didn't get tickets last year have turned to ticket resales websites and online marketplaces in the hopes of securing a last-minute seat ahead of Swift's shows, which kick off in Melbourne on Friday.

But experts have warned that Taylor Swift ticket scams are on the rise as her Eras Tour dates get closer and it's costing Aussies thousands of dollars.

Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated opening concert in Sydney was delayed Friday amid weather safety concerns, but the singer shook it off when she ultimately took the stage.

The “Anti-Hero” singer’s show at Accor Stadium was evacuated following a series of lightning strikes. Inclement weather — which has repeatedly and once fatally dogged Swift’s months-long, blockbuster tour — forced concertgoers on the lower level of the open-air stadium to seek shelter during the storm, which brought heavy rain, wind and lightning to the region.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have taken their romance down under, where the NFL player has joined the singer for her four-night Eras tour stop in Sydney.

“The floor and lower bowl are currently being evacuated due to lightning strikes nearby the stadium at today’s show of Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ in Sydney, Australia. Please stay safe and seek shelter for now #SydneyTSTheErasTour,” said a tweet on the official Eras Tour X account, providing some footage of the evacuation.

A notice posted about 10 minutes later announced that the concert would be delayed due to bad weather. It also urged fans to “stay undercover until further notice and follow venue screens and staff instructions.”

“Stay safe and remember to be kind to those around you,” the update said.

About an hour later, additional posts confirmed that stadium staff were resetting the floor and preparing seats for the show, eventually giving the all-clear for fans to return to their seats. Fittingly, the Eras tour account also posted a photo of a rainbow that appeared above the stadium. Another announcement said that Sabrina Carpenter would no longer be opening the show “due to the weather delay,” then teased Carpenter’s “surprise songs” during Swift’s set. (They performed a medley of “White Horse” and “Coney Island” during the show.)

Céline Dion’s return to the Grammy Awards stage Sunday was a triumphant moment for the ill singer, but some viewers were upset that Taylor Swift didn’t seem to acknowledge it.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner ultimately took the stage just before 8 p.m. local time and acknowledged the rough weather, as well as the resilience of her Sydney fans.

“You’re really making me feel like tonight I get to play a sold-out show for 81,000 people in Sydney!” she said , according to the Eras Tour tweets, adding , “We have a little bit of a weather situation, a little bit of rain but I have never known an Aussie crowd that let anything get in the way!”

Swift also gave a shout-out to the crowd when they inserted the “Sydney chant” into the “don’t say I didn’t warn you” lyrics of “Blank Space.”

The singer performed “How You Get the Girl” from “1989” as the first surprise song of the night and brought out Carpenter for the second. She also went live on Instagram during the show to reveal a bonus track from her upcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which she’ll release April 19.

The delayed show wasn’t without its celebrity attendees. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who joined his girlfriend Down Under earlier this week, was in the audience and was on the receiving end of another Swift run-in-for-the-hug after she completed the show. Swift again changed her “Karma” lyrics during the concert to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs” as a nod to the three-time Super Bowl winner .

Fellow pop star Katy Perry, Swift’s former “straight up enemy” who reportedly inspired “Bad Blood,” also was in the stands and shared her faux-shocked reaction as she sang along to Swift’s 2014 single.

“got to see an old friend shine tonight ” Perry wrote on Instagram , sharing a carousel of photos and videos from the concert, including a selfie with Swift and a snapshot with Rita Ora.

“It’s fair to say Sydney 🇦🇺 always delivers - Or shall we say our TayTay @taylorswift always delivers!” Ora added in her own recap of the night. “thank you for having us! Seeing my KP @katyperry made my heart 🥹 to many queens to count!

Ora and her husband , director Taika Waititi , also were in the stands. Blink-182 musician Mark Hoppus was too, and he shared a backstage photo with Swift on his Instagram account.

“You need to calm down,” Hoppus wrote in his caption, also teasing Blink’s concerts in Australia .

Swift is performing four back-to-back Eras tour shows in Sydney before jetting off to Singapore for six concerts in early March. After that, Eras heads to Paris on May 9 and makes the rounds through Europe until August. The billion-dollar , history-making tour then heads back to the U.S. in October before wrapping with a three-night stint in Toronto in early December.

Cancer-stricken girl, 9, dies two months after receiving ‘22 hat’ from Taylor Swift at Eras Tour

  • Entertainment

Tuesday, 30 Apr 2024

A nine-year-old girl whose dream came true after meeting her idol, American pop superstar Taylor Swift, at a concert two months ago has died.

Scarlett Oliver, who was battling high grade glioma - a very aggressive brain cancer - captured hearts worldwide when she received the coveted “22 hat” and a hug from Swift at the Eras Tour concert in Sydney, Australia, in late February.

Since kicking off the tour in Glendale, the United States, in 2023, the 34-year-old singer has made a tradition of bestowing her black fedora – dubbed the “22 hat” – on stage to a lucky fan while performing the song 22 .

Scarlett’s father Paul announced his daughter’s death online just days before her 10th birthday on May 7. Her condition had worsened over the past month.

Scarlett’s stepmother Natalie Oliver confirmed the news on social media on April 28, sharing a message from Paul.

“My Angel, so strong, so brave, so beautiful. Nothing will ever be the same again,” said the post. “Don’t forget me and please find a way to let me know you are ok. Goodnight baby, I love you - Dad. It’s just not fair.”

Scarlett’s special moment with Swift went viral on social media after the girl attended the singer’s opening Sydney concert held at Accor Stadium on Feb 23.

Natalie had previously posted a request on social media seeking to fulfill the wish of the young Swiftie, who was given a prognosis of 12 to 18 months from diagnosis.

“Scarlett was granted a ‘Wish’ from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and her wish was to meet Taylor Swift,” Natalie wrote then. “Unfortunately they told us this wasn’t possible so through the power of social media and some generous people ... We made attending the concert happen and got tickets.”

She then shared a photo of Scarlett holding a poster with the words: “Taylor can I have the 22 hat please?”

Swift will resume her Eras Tour on May 9 in Paris, France.

In addition, her latest and 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), has been setting new records across the world. It has sold 2.61 million album and streaming units during its first week of release in the US, Billboard reported on April 28.

TTPD also scored the largest streaming week for an album ever and the largest sales week for an album on vinyl in the modern era, Billboard added. It is also the top-selling album so far in 2024 and was Swift’s 14th chart-topping album, tying with American rap star Jay-Z for the most No.1s among soloists.

Swift also topped the British music charts on April 26, outselling the rest of the top 10 combined and beating English rock band The Beatles for the record of fastest artiste to rack up 12 British No. 1 albums. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network

In the past 30 days, searches for ‘Taylor Swift Europe tour 2024 tickets’ have increased by 300% in the U.S., indicating that some people are ready to take a long-haul flight to see the wildly popular artist live, according to travel website Islands.com .

Concert-goers who head to Europe for their Swift experience may actually save more money in the long-run . Not only are ticket prices across the pond cheaper, but many European cities, like Warsaw and Lisbon, are also budget-friendly, offering inexpensive food and lodging.

Was the travel worth it? Beyoncé and Taylor Swift's summer concerts drew fans from afar

To determine the most affordable Eras Tour stops, Islands.com researchers compared the cost of a two-night trip, including one cheap ticket on StubHub.com, two nights at a four-star hotel, six inexpensive meals, two five-mile taxi rides, and one domestic beer. However, researchers didn’t account for airline tickets or concert merchandise.

With safety at the top of travelers' minds, the researchers also factored in the city’s safety rating out of 100.

To stay extra safe, the State Department encourages travelers to register with the U.S. embassy in the country they're visiting any time they travel abroad. That can be done at step.state.gov .

How to get tickets for Billie Eilish’s 2025 Sydney tour: presale, prices and everything you need to know

Clear your calendars! Billie is bringing Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour to Australia this summer

Alannah Le Cross

Billie Eilish sure ain’t slowing down any time soon. The Grammy-winner's  catchy, genre-defying, neo-goth-esque pop music has been topping the charts ever since the release of her debut single 'Ocean Eyes' in 2016, when she was just a fresh faced teen.  As we move beyond the year of  Barbie , the 22-year-old superstar recently casually let us know that her third album  Hit Me Hard and Soft  will enter the world on May 17. As if that wasn’t enough (and while we’re still recovering from that Oscars performance of ‘What Was I Made For?’) Eilish has now gone and announced a world tour.

Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour will hit Australia in summer 2025 and tickets go on sale  very  soon. The tour will have a strong sustainability focus, with Eilish encouraging fans to choose greener transport options and thrift their ‘fits from their local op shops . We’ve found the details you need below.

When is Billie Eilish going on her Sydney, Australia tour 2025?

Eilish will play four Sydney dates as part of her 2025 tour of Australia. The 'Bad Guy' singer will  be playing no less than four dates in the new year at  Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena  on February 24, 25, 27 and 28. We have been informed that no further Australian shows are to be added to the tour – so you oughta get in fast to avoid disappointment, or that’ll be some bellyache.

When do Billie Eilish Sydney tickets go on sale?

Tickets for  Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour  will go on sale Friday, May 3, with sales for Sydney shows opening up at 1.00pm via Ticketek .

Is there a presale?

There’s sure to be wild demand for tickets, so what about presale?  Australian presale starts from Wednesday, May 1, onwards in a staggered fashion, and there are options for American Express Card Members, Vodafone customers, Live Nation and Frontie. Find out more and get ready to snap up tickets on the  Ticketek website .

How much will tickets cost?

There’s no news on ticket prices so far, but we’ll keep this story updated as details come to light. To give you an idea, previous Billie Eilish concerts in Australia have sold for between $99-$179, but that was a few years ago.

Where else is Billie Eilish playing as part of her 2025 Australian tour?

Sydney is the second stop on the Aussie leg of the tour. Before that, Eilish will touch down in Brisbane first for four shows starting from February 18. Next, she’ll rock Sydney for four nights, before it’s finally Melbourne's turn with four shows at Rod Laver Arena between March 4–8.

Fan participation + Sustainability at Billie Eilish concerts

The Billie Eilish REVERB Eco-Villages will be set up at two locations in the main concourse of every show where fans can take part in the tour’s sustainability efforts, connect with nonprofits, and take meaningful action for people and the planet. Fans are also encouraged to bring an *empty* reusable water bottle or donate for a custom “RockNRefill Nalgene bottle” to fill up at the free water refill stations located at each venue, and to fight fast fashion by opting to wear thrifted, upcycled, or borrowed clothes instead of buying new clothing to wear to shows. (Sounds like it's time to hit up some of  Sydney’s best op shops !)

In keeping with Billie’s commitment to making a difference in the environmental impacts of her music and touring, a limited number of Changemaker Tickets will also be available for the Australia dates. A portion of the proceeds from these tickets will support OzHarvest and other not-for-profit organisations in collaboration with Support + Feed, addressing the impacts of food insecurity and the climate crisis.

Taylor Swift Eras tour course offered by college for parents and carers ahead of sold-out Edinburgh shows

Glasgow Clyde College (GCC) has launched a Taylor Swift masterclass aimed at teaching parents and plus-ones about The Eras Tour set list and the singer's evolving wardrobe and hairstyles.

A Scottish college is offering a course on Taylor Swift to educate parents and carers accompanying children to the US singer's sold-out The Eras Tour.

More than 2.9 million fans attempted to secure tickets for the tour, and her sold-out concerts at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh are set to be watched live by 215,000 people.

Swift, 34, will perform in Edinburgh on 7, 8 and 9 June, with the crowd numbers expected to beat Harry Styles' record in 2023 for the biggest show in Scotland .

Glasgow Clyde College (GCC) has launched a masterclass aimed at teaching parents and plus-ones about the set list and Swift's evolving wardrobe and hairstyles.

It will cover crowd chants as well as her previous work, including albums Fearless and Folklore.

The free session is designed to help non-Swifties to get "up to speed" so they fully appreciate "iconic" moments in the set.

Robert Anderson, curriculum assistant principal at GCC, said: "Taylor mania doesn't seem to be slowing any time soon, and we expect it'll reach its peak here in Scotland in June.

"We understand that not everyone will be up to speed on all things Taylor and might not get the full Eras experience.

"That's why we created this masterclass - to prepare those who'll be heading along to the gig with their superfan kids, friends or partners to ensure they have just as memorable a time.

"Taylor's gigs are known for being so well crafted, and unless you're a fan yourself, you might miss some of the iconic moments.

"Our expert will take you through everything you need to know - leaving you a Swiftie in no time."

The one-off course, which is free, will take place from 6pm to 7.30pm on 7 May in the Innovation Centre at GCC's Langside Campus.
