Weezer Announce Tour Dates With Spoon, Modest Mouse, Future Islands, and More

Weezer will hit the road this year, plotting their first dates since announcing , and canceling , a Broadway residency last year. Billed as Weezer’s Indie Rock Roadtrip!, the tour features Spoon , Modest Mouse , and Future Islands on select dates, with Joyce Manor , Momma , or White Reaper opening. Check out the schedule below.

Weezer’s latest releases were a string of seasonal—or Sznz —EPs: Spring , Summer , Autumn , and, Winter . Their last album, Van Weezer , arrived in 2021. The Broadway run, the band admitted, was canceled “due to low ticket sales and unbelievably high expenses.”

Weezer Gear Up for ‘Indie Rock Roadtrip’ Tour With Modest Mouse, Spoon, Joyce Manor

Indie Rock Roadtrip, the upcoming 30-date tour from Weezer , will hit the road this summer with a cast of bands including Modest Mouse , Future Islands, Spoon , Momma , Joyce Manor , and White Reaper.

With Weezer headlining, two bands will join the lineup each night — with the exception of a stop in Gary, Indiana — from June through September. Modest Mouse will be paired with Momma, Future Islands will be paired with Joyce Manor, and Spoon will be paired with White Reaper.

Forget an “Island In The Sun.”

This summer, we’d rather be at Weezer’s star-studded ‘Indie Rock Roadtrip’ Tour .

From June through September, the “Buddy Holly” rockers are taking Modest Mouse, Spoon, Future Islands, Momma, Joyce Manor and White Reaper along with them on select dates for what will surely be one of the biggest indie rock tours of the year.

And, of course, they’ll hit New York.

First, the ‘Indie Rock Roadtrip’ will swing into Canandaigua’s Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center on July 3.

Ten days, later, Weezer and co. are set to make a pit stop at Queens’ Forest Hills Stadium at West Side Tennis Club on July 13.

Then, after the tour ends, Weezer returns to the Northeast to play Asbury Park, NJ’s annual Sea.Hear.Now Festival on Sept. 17-18 alongside major headliners Foo Fighters, The Killers and The Beach Boys.

For those that can’t wait for tickets, no need to worry —  we’ve got you covered .

From there, the tour will land in major cities like Minneapolis (June 13), Philadelphia (June 27), Pittsburgh (July 11), Phoenix (Aug. 30) and Las Vegas (Sept. 1).

Weezer’s summer road trip will sputter to a stop on Sept. 3 at PETCO Park in San Diego, CA .

Weezer new music

The durable rockers keep testing the boundaries of music.

Most recently, Weezer released the concept four-album “SZNZ” project. As you may have guessed, each of the four records represented a “season.”

In late 2022, the band teased a Broadway show to accompany the new songs but threw in the towel due to low ticket sales and high production costs.

Anyhow, you can still hear the band’s ambitious “SZNZ” albums here: “Spring,” “Summer,” “Autumn” and “Winter.”

Weezer have announced the “Indie Rock Roadtrip,” a 30-date summer tour alongside Modest Mouse , Spoon , Future Islands , Joyce Manor , White Reaper , and Momma .

The tour is divided up into three legs, with Weezer first linking up with Modest Mouse and Momma beginning in early June. Towards the end of the month, Future Islands and Joyce Manor will take over as Rivers Cuomo and co.’s main support. Finally in August, Weezer will hit the road for shows with Spoon and White Reaper. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 3rd at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster , with a Live Nation pre-sale occurring one day earlier on Thursday, March 2nd (use access code CHORUS ).

Weezer have announced 2023 tour dates, billed as Indie Rock Road Trip .

The newly planned concerts are set at venues across North America from June into September. Joining on select dates will be a number of like-minded rocks acts including Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Spoon, Momma, Joyce Manor, and / or White Reaper. Weezer also have festival performances at Innings, Railbird, WonderRoad, Fuji Rock, and Sea.Hear.Now.

For the new shows, the general public on-sale begins as early as March 3. Presales for VIP packages, fan club members, and Artist begin March 1. Spotify, Live Nation, LN Mobile App, and local venues / radio presales will follow. Tickets for the previously announced shows are now on sale. Keep in mind, each date is different and details are subject to change.

The legendary rock band Weezer will start new tour “ Indie Rock Roadtrip! this summer together with other great names that will be rotating while the tour lasts.

This list includes bands Modest Mouse , Future Island , Spoon , Momma , Joyce Manor , and White Reaper .

The tour will kick off on March 18 in Tampa, FL, stopping in two cities in Texas, Irving on June 06 and Austin on June 08 at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater with supporting acts Modest Mouse and Momma .

The trek kicks off in June

Weezer have announced a massive summer tour of North America. The Indie Rock Roadtrip kicks off on June 4 at The Orion Amphitheater in Alabama and wraps up on September 3 at Gallagher Square at Petco Park in California. Special guests for the trek will be Spoon, Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Momma, Joyce Manor, and White Reaper all on select dates.

Weezer is coming to Upstate New York this summer.

The Rivers Cuomo-led alternative rock band announced its 2023 “Indie Rock Road Trip” tour dates Monday, including a Monday, July 3, concert at CMAC (Constellation Brands Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center) in Canandaigua. Special guests Future Islands and Joyce Manor will open the show at 7 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster . Pricing is subject to change.

Weezer has released 15 albums over the past three decades, featuring fan favorite songs like “Say It Ain’t So,” “Buddy Holly,” “Island in the Sun,” “Beverly Hills,” “Undone - The Sweater Song,” “Hash Pipe,” “My Name is Jonas” and the Grammy-winning “Pork and Beans.” The group also hit No. 1 on the U.S. alternative charts in 2018 with a cover of Toto’s “Africa,” and contributed to movie soundtracks like “Frozen 2,” “Mallrats,” “Angus,” “Shrek Forever After” and “Bill and Ted Face the Music.”

Future Islands is an synth-pop band best known for “Seasons (Waiting on You),” named the best song of 2014 by Pitchfork. The group released its sixth album, “As Long As You Are,” in 2020.

Joyce Manor is a punk rock trio from California. Their sixth album, “40 oz. to Fresno,” was released in 2022.

It’s the only Upstate New York concert on Weezer’s tour. Other cities feature different opening acts, including Modest Mouse and Spoon.

Weezer will hit the road in 2023 coming to Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion on June 24 with North Carolina indie synth-pop rockers Future Islands and California punk rock band Joyce Manor.

Weezer released their fifteenth studio album, Van Weezer , in 2021 and a string of seasonal releases titled Spring , Summer , Autumn , and Winter in 2022. They last performed in Charlotte back in 2018 at PNC Music Pavilion with the Pixies.

Future Islands, formed in 2006 by Samuel Herring, Gerrit Welmers and William Cashion at East Carolina University, famously played a show in Charlotte at The Milestone in 2010, which was documented by Noisey . The band released their sixth studio album, As Long as You Are, in 2020, and last played in Charlotte at The Fillmore in 2018. 

California punk rockers Joyce Manor released their sixth studio album, 40 oz. to Fresno , in July of 2022 through Epitaph Records.
