DEF LEPPPARD At SWEDEN ROCK Festival On THE WORLD TOUR 2023 (Show Report/Setlist)

Def Leppard another show on The World Tour 2023 last night in Solvesborg, Sweden with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 40,000 capacity Sweden Rock festival site.

The first show in this city since June 2019.

A return to Scandinavia.

Sweden Rocks

England Rocks...Cleveland Rocks...and so does Sweden.

Back again in the early evening sunshine for their fifth visit to Sweden Rock festival.

A festival celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Rocks? Rock? - a rock was not out of the question for over 40,000 Swedish rocks fans.

No Rock! Rock! or Rock On but the setlist did feature Let's Get Rocked and Rock of Ages.

In keeping with the "rock" theme.

The local area enjoyed some amazing summer weather and after opening sets on the appropriately named Festival Stage by Soilwork and Airboune it was time for the main act.

Co-Headlining

Def Leppard have always headlined at Sweden Rock on all four previous visits, and they were still headlining.

But not closing the show as they would be followed, much later, by Motley Crue.

An 8:15pm start on the festival site that sits right by Pukavik Bay in Northern Sweden in Norje/Solvesborg.

The sun was shining as they started.

By the time they ended their set with 'Photograph' the sun was setting, even though it never fully sets in June in Sweden.

David Lee Roth Quote

After another strong opening with 'Take What You Want' Joe got in the festival mood with some humour.

"Look at all the people out there tonight!".

A nod to David Lee Roth's classic Van Halen era stage quote - "Look at all the people here tonight!". Once used at the MTV Awards (see YouTube).

Interview Stage

As with most of the other appearances here the band were interviewed before show time.

All or some of the band appeared at the Sweden Rock Magazine interview stage from 6:45 to 7pm local time to talk to local press.

Late Motley Crue Finish

With staggered set times due to multiple stages all facing each other Motley Crue were not scheduled until 11:15pm local time.

Their set did not finish until 12:45am by which time it started to look sort of dark.

17 Song Setlist

The same 17 song setlist played once more - (at this point there's no other way to word this, so I'm using the same line for each show.)

All three 'Diamond Star Halos' songs played in Solvesborg for the first time.

Sweden Rock History

The band first played this festival in June 2006 during the short European/UK YEAH! tour.

It would be their first headline performance at a European festival since May 1993 at Rock Am Ring in Germany.

In 2008 they returned on the Sparkle Lounge tour headlining above Whitesnake.

2015 saw them back again to promote their self-titled album this time on a bill above Toto and Slash.

The last show in June 2019 was also the first show of that tour. The last tour played before the pandemic.

The next Def Leppard show takes place in Hyvinkää/Helsinki, Finland on 9th June at RockFest (it's all ROCK with this band...).

New unreleased track on “Short & Swede” compilation

Sator is one of 14 Swedish bands on the new compilation 7″ “Short & Swede”, featuring songs under 1 minute long. Sator’s contribution is “Keep Walking (To Make A Long Story Short)”. The record is released by Ghost Highway Recordings on October 31. Limited Edition 300 copies in black and 200 in blue vinyl. Pre-order from Ghost Highway or with Swedish shipping from Chuck Norris Experiment .

The new album has gone to #1 on both the physical and the vinyl list this week. There’s hope for the future when an album with punk and powerpop can be number 1 in the charts in 2022. Thanks to all of you that made this happen!

“Brown Eyed Son”, originally by The Waves, is the first single from our upcoming album “Return of the Barbie-Q-Killers”. It’s a different recording than the version released as a b-side on the “World Keeps Turning” single in 2013. Out today on digital platforms, listen here .

We would also like to inform everyone that the release date for the album has been moved earlier, new date is July 29th.

Big news today, the long awaited follow up to 1994’s “Barbie-Q-Killers vol. 1” is done and set for release on August 5th. Our tribute to bands like Redd Kross, Devo, Blitzkrieg Bop, 999, The Waves, Pointed Sticks, The Undertones, The Boys, Zero Boys, The Last, Unnatural Axe, Långvård, White Flag, Screamers, The Go-Go’s, The Young Lords, Darby Crash Band, The Normals and many more! The album will be called “Return Of The Barbie-Q-Killers” and will be available on a 29 track double LP (turquosie or black vinyl versions) and a 24 track single CD, that’s right – 5 bonus tracks on vinyl.

Our 2006 album “Basement Noise” will finally be released on vinyl. There is also a reissue of the CD since the original one sold out years ago. As if that isn’t enough, there’s an orange vinyl version planned for Record Store Day. Preorder at Sound Pollution store .

Under The Radar on vinyl

Our latest album “Under The Radar” from 2011 will finally see a vinyl release. Out on Wild Kingdown on March 19th on black and limited Transparent Marble Gold/Black vinyl. Pre-orders are open at Sound Pollution . More interesting things might be on their way as well.

Taylor Swift breaks concert crowd record in Stockholm with Eras Tour

STOCKHOLM — Taylor Swift played her very first show in Sweden and said fans broke the concert attendance record at Friends Arena.

"My mind is absolutely blown for several reasons looking at this crowd tonight," said the Eras Tour star.

"First of which is that I have never gotten to play a show in Stockholm before, and my first show looks like this." The crowd erupted and Swift added, "You have made this the highest attended show ever in this stadium."

Swift didn't say how many fans were there, but the stadium's website says its concert capacity is "60,000 people, depending on position and layout of the stage."

Fans did not spot Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in the crowd after the tight end went to her final show in Paris, which was her 87th Eras Tour performance (his Kansas City Chiefs number is 87). The football player is hosting a music festival, Kelce Jam , Saturday night in Bonner Springs, Kansas.

The city of Stockholm is the latest stop on her blockbuster three-plus-hour show to rename itself — to Swiftholm —following Glendale's "Swift City," Minneapolis's "Swiftie-apolis" and Santa Clara's "Swiftie Clara."

Swift will perform three nights in Friends Arena before heading to Lisbon, Portugal.

“Here’s your f*cking breakthrough hit, Stockholm!” With Paramore mixing up one song every night supporting Taylor Swift, the band gave Misery Business its Eras Tour debut in Sweden…

Paramore just gave Misery Business its Eras Tour live debut – at the request of Taylor Swift.

While supporting the pop icon on The Eras Tour throughout Europe, the band have been mixing things up with their setlist and playing one new song per night (at the first four shows in Paris fans got Brick By Boring Brick, Rose Colored Boy, Forgiveness and Decode).

And, heading on over to Sweden for a run of dates at the Friends Arena in Solna, they chose to play their classic Riot! single on May 17, with Hayley Williams jokingly introducing the song by saying, “So by request of Queen Taylor, here’s your fucking breakthrough hit, Stockholm!”

And now, it looks as though Misery Business could be staying put, with Paramore’s dates on May 18 and 19 at the Friends Arena also including it. However, they mixed things up by giving tour debuts to Pool and Running Out Of Time in place of That’s What You Get.

Angela Stanford wins second straight LPGA Senior Championship

H URRICANE, Utah (AP) — Angela Stanford became the first player to successfully defend the LPGA Senior Championship title, closing with a 3-under 69 in breezy conditions Saturday for a three-stroke victory over Cristie Kerr.

The winner last year at Sultan’s Run in Jasper, Indiana, the 46-year-old Stanford finished at 10-under 206 in the 54-hole event at Copper Rock.

“It was different than last year,” said Stanford, a seven-time winner on the LPGA Tour. “We went from a soggy, rainy Indiana to high-altitude, dry, windy Utah. So, they were very different tournaments."

Kerr finished with a 70.

“I played good,” Kerr said. “I just didn’t get a lot of putts to fall. And Angela played really solid coming in.”

Maria McBride of Sweden was third at 2 under after a 71.

And at the same time, our own parking spaces, as well as bus wristbands for commuting to nearby locations, also go up for sale.

1-day tickets will go on sale later in the season, when more bands and days are completed.

As with any ticket purchase, it's a good idea to be prepared.

BATH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at 200 Congress Ave. and concludes at Library Park and will be followed by a wreath-laying service at 11 a.m.

BERWICK 11 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at Berwick Town Hall/Sullivan Square and proceeds to Lord’s Cemetery by way of Wilson and Allen streets. After a ceremony there, the parade will continue down Saw Mill Hill Street with a pause at the Somersworth-Berwick Bridge for a brief memorial service for those lost at sea. The parade ends at Sullivan Square with a memorial service honoring area veterans.

BIDDEFORD-SACO Opening ceremony at 9:55 a.m. Monday at Saco City Hall. Parade starts at 10 a.m. from Saco City Hall and proceeds along Main Street and down York Hill into Biddeford, continues along Main Street, onto Alfred Street and finishes at Veteran’s Memorial Park with a closing ceremony at 10:45 a.m.

BRUNSWICK-TOPSHAM 9 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from Topsham Town Hall, pauses for observances while crossing the Brunswick-Topsham bridge, and concludes at the Brunswick Mall.

CAPE ELIZABETH 9 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at the middle school parking lot, turns right on Scott Dyer Road, right onto Route 77 and ends at the village green adjacent to the town hall. A brief ceremony and laying of the wreath will be held at the Village Green after the parade.

CUMBERLAND 8 a.m. Monday. Kids run at Greely High School followed by 5K Run and Remember race at 8:30 a.m. Parade starts at 10 a.m. at Mabel I. Wilson School and ends at the veterans’ monument in Moss Side Cemetery in Cumberland Center, where a ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Advertisement

FALMOUTH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from 65 Depot Road (Falmouth American Legion) to Pine Grove Park, where a ceremony will be held.

FREEPORT 9:30 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from Holbrook Street, heads north on Main and makes a right onto School Street, then right onto Park Street, ending in Memorial Park. There will be a small ceremony in Memorial Park starting at 10 a.m.

GORHAM 11 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Village School (12 Robie St.) and ends at Eastern Cemetery on Johnson Road.

GRAY 11:30 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves the Russell School (8 Gray Park), proceeds to Shaker Road and continues to the Soldiers Monument at the intersection of Routes 26 and 3 for a wreath-laying ceremony. Parade continues north to the American Legion Post (15 Lewiston Road) for a closing ceremony.

LYMAN 1 p.m. Monday. Parade starts at Waterhouse Road/Mill Pond in Goodwins Mills and ends at the Lyman Town Hall on South Waterboro Road.

NEW GLOUCESTER 9 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves from Memorial Elementary School (86 Intervale Road) and heads down Intervale Road to Route 100/202 to Veterans Park for a memorial service. The parade will reconvene and go down Peacock Hill Road, then take a left on Gilmore Road. Advertisement

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1 p.m. Monday. Parade starts at the corner of Ballpark Way and E. Emerson Cumming Boulevard and proceeds down Saco Avenue, Old Orchard Beach Street to First Street and ends at Veteran’s Memorial Park.

PORTLAND 2 p.m. Monday. The procession starts at Longfellow School (432 Stevens Ave.) and ends at Evergreen Cemetery for a commemoration ceremony.

SANFORD 10 a.m. Monday. The parade starts at the Sanford Armory (88 William Oscar Emery Drive), proceeds up Gowen Park Drive and ends at Central Park.

SCARBOROUGH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Scarborough High School, turns onto Route 114 and then Route 1, past town offices to the Maine Veterans Home and concludes with a ceremony there.

SOUTH PORTLAND 10:30 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Southern Maine Community College parking lot, proceeds down Broadway to the Veterans Monument for a short Memorial Day recognition service.

WELLS 9 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Wells High School (200 Sanford Road) and proceeds to Ocean View Cemetery for a ceremony and musical performances. Advertisement

WESTBROOK 10 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds down Main Street and will be followed by a ceremony in Riverbank Park.

WINDHAM 9 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Windham Town Hall and proceeds onto Route 202 toward Windham High School. At 10 a.m., there will be a ceremony in front of Windham’s Veterans Memorial Flagpole at Windham High School.

YARMOUTH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves from Yarmouth High School (286 West Elm St.) and proceeds to the Memorial Green at Town Hall for a ceremony.

YORK 10 a.m. Monday. Parade starts near St. Christopher’s Church (4 Barrell Lane) and proceeds down York Street to York Town Hall.
