A true ’90s power couple. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman ‘s romance didn’t last, but their relationship remains a subject of fascination for movie fans around the world.

The Oscar winner and the Mission: Impossible actor met in early 1990 while filming Tony Scott ‘s Days of Thunder , in which Cruise played race car driver Cole Trickle and Kidman appeared as his love interest, Dr. Claire Lewicki. Some critics thought the film was too similar to 1986’s Top Gun , which also starred Cruise under the direction of Scott, but the romance developing between its two young stars quickly eclipsed any negative press.

Less than one year after finalizing his divorce from Mimi Rogers , Cruise married Kidman in December 1990 during a private ceremony held on Christmas Eve. The low-key event was attended by their family members and held in Telluride, Colorado.

“I was so young when I got married,” Kidman told Red magazine in 2016, reflecting on her marriage to Cruise. The Moulin Rouge! actress was 23 at the time, while the Top Gun: Maverick producer was 28. “I look back now and I’m like, ‘What?'”

Shortly after their wedding, the couple worked together again on Ron Howard ‘s drama Far and Away , which hit theaters in 1992. That same year, the duo adopted daughter Isabella shortly after her birth. In 1995, they adopted son Connor, who later starred in the films Seven Pounds and Red Dawn .

Cruise and Kidman collaborated for a third time on Stanley Kubrick’s final film, Eyes Wide Shut , which premiered in 1999. “We were happily married through that,” the Hours actress told The New York Times in 2020, reflecting on where she stood with Cruise while making the controversial movie. “We would go go-kart racing after [intense] scenes. We’d rent out a place and go racing at three in the morning.”

Less than two years after the movie’s release, however, the couple announced their separation. “Citing the difficulties inherent in divergent careers which constantly keep them apart, they concluded that an amicable separation seemed best for both of them at this time,” a rep for the duo said in a February 2001 statement.

The Jerry Maguire actor later moved on with Penélope Cruz before marrying Katie Holmes in 2006. Cruise and the Dawson’s Creek alum, who share daughter Suri (born in 2006), split in 2012.

Kidman, for her part, was briefly engaged to Lenny Kravitz in 2003. In June 2006, she wed country star Keith Urban , with whom she shares daughters Sunday Rose (born in 2008) and Faith (born in 2010).

Despite the end of her relationship with Cruise, Kidman has said she’s not bothered by the perpetual interest in their romance.

“I was young. I think I offered it up?” the Big Little Lies alum told Harper’s Bazaar in September 2021 when asked whether the continued fascination bothers her. “Maybe I’ve gotten a bit more trepidatious, but I’m always trying to be as open as possible. Cruise filed for divorce from Kidman, citing irreconcilable differences for the split. Former Scientologist Mike Rinder claimed in 2022 that the church played a role in the couple's breakup by creating a "distance" between them. The apostate also alleged that the Church of Scientology wiretapped Kidman's phone to monitor her influence on Cruise, who is one of the religion's most prominent members.

The church denied Rinder's claims in a September 2022 statement, saying: "The Church never ordered or participated in any illegal wiretapping. Mike Rinder is an inveterate liar who seeks to profit from his dishonesty. He supports himself by orchestrating the harassment of his former Church and its leader through false police reports, incendiary propaganda and fraudulent media stories.”

Kidman clarified that she did not have a miscarriage early in her marriage to Cruise, but rather had one early in their relationship. "It was wrongly reported," she told Marie Claire , explaining that she'd had an ectopic pregnancy when she was 23. "So it's huge news, and it didn't happen. I had a miscarriage at the end of my marriage, but I had an ectopic pregnancy at the beginning of my marriage. It was incredibly traumatic for me. Sometimes you share your grief."

Kidman and Cruise were married in 1990 and divorced in 2001. They share two children, a 28-year-old daughter, Isabella, and a 26-year-old son, Connor.

Nicole Kidman Made a Rare Comment About Her Marriage to Tom Cruise

Nicole Kidman gave a super rare insight into her marriage to Tom Cruise in a new interview with the New York Times Magazine.

It's incredibly rare for Nicole Kidman to speak about her marriage to Tom Cruise , which lasted from 1990 to 2001. But in a new interview with the New York Times Magazine , Kidman opened up about a specific period in their relationship, when the couple were shooting the 1999 Stanley Kubrick movie Eyes Wide Shut .

First, Kidman dismissed the "fallacy" that she and Cruise had a difficult time working on the movie, which took far longer to shoot than expected. "We loved working with him. We shot that for two years. We had two kids and were living in a trailer on the lot primarily, making spaghetti because Stanley liked to eat with us sometimes. We were working with the greatest filmmaker and learning about our lives and enjoying our lives on set," she said.

"We would say, “When is it going to end?” We went over there thinking it was going to be three months. It turned into a year, a year and a half," Kidman continued. "But you go, As long as I surrender to what this is, I’m going to have an incredible time. Stanley, he wasn’t torturous. He was arduous in that he would shoot a lot. But I’d sit on the floor of his office and talk, and we’d watch animal videos."

Kidman went on to reject the suggestion that the movie, with its recurrent theme of infidelity, put a strain on her relationship with Cruise. "That fits the narrative that people came up with, but I definitely didn’t see it like that. We were happily married through that," she said. "We would go go-kart racing after those scenes. We’d rent out a place and go racing at 3 in the morning. I don’t know what else to say. Maybe I don’t have the ability to look back and dissect it. Or I’m not willing to." Interesting!

Inside Tom Cruise's Relationship With Nicole Kidman

They were the Hollywood "it" couple of the 1990s. When A-list actor Tom Cruise decided to make a movie about a race car driver called "Days of Thunder," the recently divorced star quickly fell in love with his little-known love interest, Australian actress Nicole Kidman. The year was 1990, and both the film and her newfound relationship with Cruise turned Kidman into an instant Hollywood starlet who eventually forged a career in her own right. But, before that, she was Cruise's loving wife and mother of his two adopted children.

By the time 1990 came to a close, Cruise and Kidman were married. This was 28-year-old Cruise's second marriage, as he had previously been wed to actress Mimi Rogers. It was 23-year-old Kidman's first marriage (via Parade ). For a time, Kidman even tried to become a Scientologist like her husband, but grew weary of it and even got her husband to leave the Church of Scientology briefly, according to The Daily Beast . 

However, their marriage wouldn't last much more than a decade, and there's still no real answer to why it suddenly ended.

During the time they were wed, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman fascinated Hollywood and dominated magazine covers. They even made two more acclaimed movies together: 1992's "Far and Away" and 1999's "Eyes Wide Shut" (via Parade ). In 2002, after their marriage had ended, Kidman described the beginning of her romance with Cruise to Vanity Fair . 

"He basically swept me off my feet. I fell madly, passionately in love," Kidman said. "And as happens when you fall in love, my whole plan in terms of what I wanted for my life — I was like, 'Forget it. This is it.' I was consumed by it, willingly. And I was desperate to have a baby with him. I didn't care if we were married. That's what I wish I'd done."

Although Kidman did marry this man who swept her off her feet, instead of having his babies, the pair chose to adopt. They added Isabella to their family in 1993 and Connor in 1995. 

"I was willing to give up everything," Kidman told Vanity Fair. "I now see that as part of me. I'm willing to do that — I do it when I do a movie too. I'm willing to go, 'Yeah, bring it on, consume me, intoxicate me.' I want to feel alive — I want to reel, basically. I was reeling with Tom and I loved it and I would have walked to the end of the earth."

When Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman made "Eyes Wide Shut" with legendary director Stanley Kubrick, the couple and their two children moved to England and were there for two years, living in a trailer and making spaghetti dinners with Kubrick as their frequent guest. It was rumored that the problems in the marriage began when they shot that dark film, but, in 2020, Kidman told The New York Times that was the furthest thing from the truth, at least in her eyes.

Nicole Kidman was stunned when Tom Cruise filed for divorce

In 2001, Tom Cruise shocked the world and his wife when he suddenly filed for divorce. Later that year, Cruise wished Nicole Kidman well in an interview with Vanity Fair  but would not reveal why they split up.

"She knows why, and I know why," he said. "She's the mother of my children, and I wish her well. And I think that you just move on. And I don't say that lightly. I don't say that with anything. Things happen in life, and you do everything you can, and in every possible way, and there's a point at which you just sometimes have to face the brutal reality."

Kidman described that time in her life as tumultuous. She couldn't believe her marriage was over, and she wasn't sure what would happen next, telling Vanity Fair that she was so distraught that she was crying in the fetal position when her parents had to come over and convince her to move on with her life. "At the time, it felt like the work was going to be taken away from me," she said. "I had more things that I wanted to give, do, participate in." 

Luckily, her career has only flourished since then, with Kidman now having an Oscar win and three noms under her belt — as well as a happy 15-year marriage to Keith Urban.

In an essay for New York Magazine's "Woman and Power" series , Nicole Kidman opened up about her past marriage to Tom Cruise, sharing some incredible insight about her high-profile relationship.

The actress and producer married the movie star in 1990 and divorced in 2001. The couple adopted two children, Isabella and Connor.

"Being married to Tom Cruise at 22 is something I’m always reluctant to talk about, because I’m married now to the man who is my great love [Keith Urban], and it almost feels disrespectful," Kidman, 51, wrote.

Kidman married the Australian rocker in 2006 and they also have two children, Sunday and Faith.

She said she was decided to talk about her ex because of #MeToo movement.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman wed eight years ago -- The stars continue to shine together on and off the screen

He was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood — and she was a newcomer from down under. At their small, quiet wedding in the Colorado Rockies on Dec. 24, 1990, no one could have foretold that Nicole Kidman’s screen success would rival that of her husband Tom Cruise — or that some day she’d be stripping down for some risque business in the Broadway smash The Blue Room . Eight years ago, life was simpler: Cruise, 28, and Kidman, 23, costarred in a brief sunset ceremony in Telluride, Colo., directed by a civil officiant and attended by a small supporting cast made up almost entirely of family members.

Roughly a year earlier, romance began on the set of Days of Thunder , in which Cruise was playing a hot-tempered race-car driver and Kidman his love interest. ”There was just a connection,” recalled Kidman of their meeting. ”Something like ‘God, I feel like I know you.”’ (Cruise was at the time married to actress Mimi Rogers; their three-year marriage would officially end less than a year before his wedding to Kidman.) Days was panned by critics but raked in $166 million worldwide, while tabloid writers, upon learning of the match, revved their engines.

Indeed, the apparent haste of the nuptials sparked rumors — hotly denied — that Kidman was pregnant; since then, gossipmongers have hinted that Cruise is gay, that both actors’ business decisions are overseen by the Church of Scientology (to which the couple belong), and that Kidman’s career has flourished because of their union. All have been denied by the couple, who recently adopted tougher tactics: This fall, they settled (for more than $500,000) their libel case against a London newspaper that reported their marriage was a ploy to cover up his alleged homosexuality.

Nicole has no need to…put herself in a position of vulnerability, physically or critically.” The raves followed her to the Great White Way when previews began Nov. 27. Cruise, meanwhile, has been working behind the scenes: He was a producer of this year’s Without Limits , and one project rumored to be on the horizon is Criminal Conversation — possibly starring his wife.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman 's daughter Isabella Cruise married her Brit IT consultant boyfriend Max Parker last month—and while she was joined by brother Connor, neither of her parents were there to witness the happy occasion.

"The wedding happened a couple of weeks ago, on Sept. 18," a source told Us Weekly . "And was a super low-key, small ceremony. Connor was there but both Tom and Nicole were not." Their big day reportedly went down at the Dorchester Hotel in Central London.

Australian weekly Woman's Day has pictures form the nuptials, which show the bride wearing a high-neck three-quarter-sleeve lace mini dress , and what appear to be her bridesmaids in oh-so-chic peach jumpsuits.

TMZ is reporting that the groom's parents also didn't make the guest list—instead the couple opted to swap vows in the presence of just a few close friends. They are reporting that Tom footed the bill for their big day, however, and that Max and Bella spent both Thanksgiving and Christmas with her father.

Oscar-winning Australian actress Nicole Kidman has broken her silence around her 10-year marriage to Tom Cruise.

Nicole, 48, who has remained notoriously silent about her marriage to Scientology’s most famous devotee, has shed some light on her decade as Mrs. Cruise.

She told London’s  The Evening Standard  newspaper: “I was a baby when I married Tom, but I don’t regret any of it.”

Nicole and Tom, 53, met in 1989 on the set of their film  Days of Thunder  when Nicole was just 22-years-old and Tom was 28. The were married the next year and, soon after, adopted two children, Connor Cruise and Isabella Cruise .

The couple were married for 10 years but, in 2001, separated with Tom filing for divorce shortly after. Nicole, who has been married to Australian country singer Keith Urban since 2006, has been hesitant to discuss her first marriage publicly, however, in the interview with the Evening Standards, Nicole has explained that the biggest lesson she learned during her marriage to Tom was: “Be the best you can be, not the worst, and think of the children.”

The Moulin Rouge! actress further explained that her new husband was the main reason she rarely discuss her previous marriage,

“Out of respect for Keith I tend not to discuss Tom now,” she said.

Nicole and Keith have two daughters together: Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was born in 2008, and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban was born via surrogate in 2010.

Nicole Kidman And Tom Cruise Were Both No-Shows At Their Daughter's Wedding

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise probably had one of the most publicized divorces in Hollywood history, with the meme-ified (and totally iconic) photo of the "Moulin Rouge" actor joyfully celebrating the split . But the end of their marriage tends to overshadow the fact that it did last for 11 years and she shared with New York Magazine that it gave her protection within the industry when she was still a young actor and wife. And they adopted two children together, Isabella and Connor Cruise. However, over the years, it's been a bit cloudy on whether she still has a relationship with her adopted children or whether they are fully estranged.

According to Today , in 2016, Kidman told Red Magazine that she got married young and was in awe of how she'd done so and had two kids by age 27. However, she wouldn't have wanted it any other way. "You look at Taylor Swift, I mean, how old is she? ... I had two kids by the time I was 27 and I'd been married four years," she said. "But that's what I wanted."

She also looks back on her relationship with Cruise fondly , telling Ladies' Home Journal , "He was just Tom, but to everybody else, he is huge. But he was lovely to me. And I loved him. I still love him." But, again, the Church of Scientology didn't have a good influence on the marriage. Reportedly, the Church set up Kidman for failure by concocting the divorce. And there are claims the Church messed with her relationship with her kids, as well. But that's not really why neither she nor Cruise didn't attend their daughter's wedding.

The Daily Mail reported that Isabella Cruise's 2015 wedding notably didn't have either of her adoptive parents there. She was 22 at the time and wed her British boyfriend, Max Parker, who was an IT consultant; the two reportedly met through mutual friends. It was apparently a "Scientology ceremony," with a well-known Scientologist, Fabiano Calcioli, being one of Parker's groomsmen. It's unsurprisingly Isabella who is the devoted Scientologist in the couple, not Parker.

The Daily Mail also wrote that even though Kidman was in London at the time working on a play, sources say she was forbidden from coming to the ceremony, as it was believed her appearance would cause a "media circus." It doesn't seem like there's any bad blood between Isabella and Kidman over this, at least. The outlet reported that she had dinner with Kidman and her husband-to-be the day before. And Kidman "was actually involved with the wedding preparations," a source told the Daily Mail. "But she didn't go to the ceremony. Also, the animosity between Tom and Nicole was probably a factor."

Speaking of Tom Cruise, he allegedly paid for Isabella's wedding, which was deemed "low-key but very expensive," but was not there. Isabella's adopted brother, Connor, was also not in attendance. Basically, none of this meant anything negative, as the purpose really seemed to be for the sake of keeping the ceremony small, intimate, and quiet, as People reported.

The Daily Mail alleged that Isabella Cruise and Nicole Kidman had a falling out when Tom Cruise and Kidman divorced in 2001 because Isabella decided to stay committed to the Church of Scientology. Of course, Cruise is an important member of the controversial church that's been likened to a cult. As the Daily Beast reported in 2019, Isabella Cruise was a "top Scientology recruiter" for the organization and thanked her father Tom "for everything" in an internal testimony to how great being an auditor for the church was.

It's not truly known what Kidman's relationships are like with her two adopted children with Cruise , but as YourTango reported, they chose to live with Cruise after the divorce and are both devoted to Scientology like their father. And, at the 2018 Golden Globes, when Kidman was thanking "all of her children," she only named out the two biological kids she shares with husband Keith Urban. And, supposedly the church "indoctrinated" the two Cruise kids against Kidman because of her choice to leave and divorce Cruise.

But in 2020, it looked like Isabella was liking Kidman's posts on Instagram, which was "huge, given everything that's happened between them," according to a source. As Hello! Magazine reported in 2021, Isabella was still liking Kidman's posts and also noted that many speculated on their reportedly estranged relationship due to the Church of Scientology and Isabella and Connor Cruise's continued involvement with the Church.

All three of Tom Cruise's marriages ended when wife was 33

Soon after news broke about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' plans to divorce , fans noted a weird coincidence. All of Cruise's three marriages broke up when his wife at the time was 33, and ended when she was 34.

Cruise's first wife was Mimi Rogers, who was 31 when she wed 24-year-old Cruise in May 1987 and 33 when they broke up in 1990.

Cruise then married Nicole Kidman, 23, in December of 1990, and then separated in 2001, when Kidman was 33.

Holmes, 28, and Cruise wed in 2006, seven months after daughter Suri was born. And when word came Friday that Holmes had filed for divorce, those with a sense of Cruise history noted that Holmes was also 33.

Divorces, in each case, came when the woman in question had turned 34 (or so we assume with Holmes, who will turn 34 in December).

The coincidence didn't go unnoticed on social media, where no weird fact is too small to escape notice.

"How weird is it that Tom Cruise's three failed marriages have all ended while the women were 34?" tweeted Karen D'Souza. Others tried to find a connection between the number 33 and Cruise's well-publicized Scientology faith.

And others had fun with a different numerical aspect of the Cruise-Holmes marriage. Wrote Adolf McGough, "Shoutout to Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. Your marriage lasted 28.47 Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries marriages."

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were once a Hollywood power couple - but their marriage ended in mysterious circumstances.

The actors met on the set of Days of Thunder in 1989 and got married in Colorado on Christmas Eve in 1990.

Cruise, 60, and Kidman, 55, adopted Isabella and Connor Cruise in 1992 and 1995 respectively - and looked very loved up when they filmed racy thriller Eyes Wide Shut together.

Nicola, who is now married to singer Keith Urban, was introduced to the Church of Scientology by her ex-husband but she didn't start following the teachings of the religion.

The world was stunned in February 2004 when Tom announced they were separating, cryptically explaining: "Nicole knows why".

However, this wasn't what Nicole claimed, with a rep telling the Daily Mail at the time: "This divorce was not her decision. Tom made the move. Nicole is in a state of shock."

Divorce papers at the time said Nicole begged him to reconsider, stating how she, "protested [Cruise's] intention to dissolve their marriage and urged him not to leave but to enter marriage counselling with her, or take other steps to address whatever problems may have existed in their marriage...

"Tom said his decision was final and he departed the parties' home."

Tom claimed their marriage had broken down in December 2000, but Nicole disputed his timeline, insisting they had celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with friends on December 24 and had still been intimate, resulting in a pregnancy that she tragically lost.

"I had a miscarriage at the end of my marriage," Nicole told Marie Claire, having adopted daughter Isabella in 1993 followed by son Connor in 1995 with Tom.

Opening up about their fertility struggles, Nicole revealed their attempts to start a family had been marred in grief from the beginning after she suffered an "incredibly traumatic" ectopic pregnancy at the start of their marriage.

In response to Nicole's divorce papers, Tom's publicist Pat Kingsley told the Daily Mail: "Life moves on and Tom is getting on with his own future."

The Church of Scientology and Tom have always denied the religion had anything to do with his marriage breakdown with Nicole.

Speaking about their coupling years later, Nicole said: "I would work, but I was still very much cocooned. So when I came out of it at 32, 33, it's almost like I had to grow up."

Finally, after seven months of legal wrangling, their divorce was finalised with both sharing custody of the children.

However, the kids decided to stay in LA to live full-time with their dad when their mum moved back to Australia.

Tom raised Bella and Connor in the Church of Scientology and they have both become high-ranking members of the controversial faith.

"Connor and Isabella grew up in the church of Scientology, they've been members since they were kids," a source told PEOPLE in 2019, adding that the siblings "are completely dedicated scientologists just like Tom".

Due to her alleged excommunication status as an "SP" [Suppressive Person], the kids have kept their distance from their mother.

Appearing on GMTV in 2007, Nicole revealed that their kids called her by her first name.

"My kids don’t call me mommy, they don't even call me mom," she explained. "They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it."

While Nicole explored the Church of Scientology she did not become a fully-fledged member and has remained Catholic.

In 2018, she told WHO magazine: "They have made the choice to be Scientologists and as a mother, it's my job to love them.

"And I am an example of that tolerance and that's what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I'm open here.

"I think that's so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family — I believe it's wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love."

Nicole has had a strained relationship with her eldest two children - and did not attend either of their weddings.

She reportedly didn't know that Bella was tying the knot with British IT consultant Max Parker in 2015 before the nuptials took place.

While Cruise was reportedly also not invited to Bella's wedding, he did know about the big day and footed the bill, instead reportedly choosing to stay away so that he wouldn't distract from the happy couple.

Connor married an Italian woman named Silvia Zanchi, who is a fellow Scientologist who also grew up in the religion, but Nicole was allegedly 'banned' from the wedding by Tom.

"Tom is behind this and what he wants is as good as law," an insider told Radar Online in 2019. "Tom made the call and Connor followed."

Adding that Connor "worships the ground his father walks on" the sources added: "First, Tom would never even consider inviting Nicole to Connor's wedding because she's considered a 'suppressive person' by the church — and, second, he doesn’t want her there."

Nicole never gave up on her "lost babies" and did start to reconnect with them since lockdowns began in 2021 during the coronavirus pandemic.

Bella has now achieved 'auditor' status in the UK branch of the church, which means she can now quiz other Scientology followers about their deepest, darkest secrets using an e-meter - a sort of lie detector.

In a rare promotional email sent round to Scientologists in London obtained by the Sun, Bella wrote: "Thank you to my Dad for everything.

"I would have drowned in my own problems if you hadn't been there to sup me or get me through the preliminaries."

Bella lives in Croydon, south London, as an artist and has launched her own fashion collection.

While Connor remains in the upper ranks of the Scientology church at its HQ in Clearwater, Florida and is content living a quieter life out of the spotlight.

While the artist often shares her work with her social media followers, she doesn't upload pictures of herself as frequently. In fact, her last selfie appeared to be in March, when she gave a peek at her new ‘do . And while fans are used to seeing Bella's parents up on the big screen, she seems to prefer staying out of the limelight—with her last public appearance being in 2021 when she attended an art exhibition in London hosted by  Courtney Love . 

Nicole and Tom are also protective when it comes to the privacy of Bella and her 28-year-old brother  Connor Cruise —who the stars adopted while they were married from 1990 to 2001—and have said little about them publicly.

"I'm very private about all that," the  Moulin Rouge  actress told Australian outlet  Who  in 2018. "I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 per cent that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is."

Tom Cruise  shared an incredibly rare moment with his children, Connor and Bella , at a hockey game this past December, captured in a joyful photo that has recently resurfaced online. 

The picture, posted by former NFL star Derrick Brooks, shows the iconic actor enjoying a night out with his family, a rare glimpse into their private life.

Derrick, visibly thrilled by the encounter, shared his excitement on Instagram: “Good Evening, Wow, look who stopped by my office before our [Tampa Bay Lightning] game tonight! @tomcruise. I was a little star struck but played it cool and He said he was too!” 

In the snapshot, Tom stands proudly with Derrick, sporting a broad smile, while Connor gives a cheerful thumbs up beside them. Bella peeks out charmingly among the group, adding a sweet touch to the family outing.

Tom Cruise Poses With His and Nicole Kidman's Kids in 1st Public Photo Together in Nearly 15 Years

A recently resurfaced photo of Tom Cruise and his adult children is calling attention to their first public outing together in nearly 15 years.

The rare shot was shared in December 2023 by former NFL star Derrick Brooks, who cheered on the Tampa Bay Lightning at the time alongside Cruise, 61, and his two eldest kids: Bella, 31, and Connor, 29, whom he shares with first wife Nicole Kidman. (Cruise is also dad of 18-year-old Suri, whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Holmes.) While Brooks is a legend in his own right — spending his entire, 14-season career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — he couldn't help but get majorly starstruck over his interaction with Cruise.

"Good Evening, Wow, look who stopped by my office before our @tblightning game tonight! @tomcruise. I was a little star struck but played it cool and He said he was too! 😂😂," the retired linebacker captioned the photo, where he posed between Cruise and Connor, who both flashed bright smiles to the camera. (Bella, for her part, poked her head in from the back in the group picture.)

Cruise and Kidman — who were married for 11 years before finalizing their divorce in 2001 — adopted Bella in 1992, two years after tying the knot. Three years later, they adopted Connor.

While the Cruise kids tend to keep their personal lives close to the vest, Kidman, who also shares two daughters with husband Keith Urban, spoke out about her relationship with Bella and Connor in 2018.

Acknowledging the fact that her two eldest are Scientologists like their dad, the Oscar winner Who magazine at the time:

"I'm very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships," Kidman shared. "I know 150% that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is."

Bella and Connor are adults who "are able to make their own decisions," she added. "They have made choices to be Scientologists and, as a mother, it's my job to love them."

Kidman, for her part, made headlines last week when she and Urban stepped out for a rare public event with daughters Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith Margaret, 13 — the teens' first red carpet. The actress' family was on hand to support her at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala in Los Angeles.

Brooke shields accepted tom cruise, katie holmes’ 2006 wedding invite on 1 condition year after public feud.

Brooke Shields “of course” was always going to attend Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ 2006 wedding — but initially joked why she would have skipped.

“I was gonna say yes to that,” Shields, 58, told Entertainment Weekly . “I was like, ‘Yes. I will — as long as I’m not the something old!'”

The “Dawson’s Creek” alum, 45, then made a special request before walking down the aisle.

“She goes, ‘Oh, will you?’ And I said, ‘What? Bring myself as the something old?'”

“I had to, like, hunt antique places,” Shields went on, “to find the perfect, you know, gift to give her.”

Luckily, the “Mother of the Bride” actress found a Victorian present for Holmes.

“It was a little compact that you put a ring … So you’re supposed to be able to look at their reflection in it and have it around their finger,” she explained to EW. “It was really beautiful.”

In 2006, Shields and Cruise got into a public spat when Cruise shamed her for taking medication to address her postpartum depression. “It was so ridiculous to me,” Shields said in her 2023 Hulu documentary, “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields.”

“It’s not about the moral thing, or the right thing, or the good thing. It’s about who has more power.”

Cruise gave his take on Today with now-former co-host Matt Lauer. “There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance. The thing that I’m saying about Brooke is that there’s misinformation. She doesn’t understand the history of psychiatry,” he said at the time. Despite the feud, Shields ultimately got a wedding invite.

Holmes and Cruise, 61, meanwhile, welcomed daughter Suri that same year.

Last month, Suri — who is still estranged from Cruise — turned 18. Suri has mainly grown up in Manhattan and has been shielded from Cruise’s Church of Scientology since the exes split in 2012.

Last year, Holmes told Glamour magazine that she likes to “protect” Suri from the public eye “because she was so visible at a young age.”

She added: “I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person. She’s my heart.”

Cruise, for his part, is also dad to two adopted children, Bella, now 31, and Connor, now 29, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. Earlier this month, a photograph he took with Bella and Connor in December 2023 went viral. It was the first image of the three together shown in public since 2009.

“My whole life I always wanted to be a father,” the “Top Gun: Maverick” actor told Vanity Fair in 2006.

“I always said to myself that my children would be able to depend on me and I would always be there for them and love them — that I’d never make a promise to my kids that I couldn’t keep.”

He went on: “I’m not one of those people who believe you can spoil a child with too much love. You can never give a child too much love. There’s just no way.”

Nicole Kidman is the proud mother of four kids.

The Big Little Lies star shares two children, Bella and Connor, with ex-husband Tom Cruise . She also has two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, with her longtime love Keith Urban , to whom she's been married for nearly two decades.

Kidman became a first-time mother in 1993, when she and her then-husband Cruise adopted their daughter, Bella. A few years later, the pair welcomed son Connor into their family. Though Kidman and Cruise split in 2001, she told Elle in 2008 that the former couple's kids were raised "amidst a lot of love."

"They are generous, kind and hardworking," Kidman later said of her two older children. "And these are traits that I love to see in my children ."

After splitting from Cruise, the Being the Ricardos actress went on to marry Urban on June 25, 2006. Two years later, they welcomed their first daughter, Sunday Rose, followed by her younger sister, Faith Margaret, in 2010.

Kidman, who has been open about her fertility struggles, told Marie Claire Australia in 2021 that she always wanted a big family. "I would've loved 10 kids," she said. "I love mothering, I love kids: They're quirky, funny and unfiltered. And then you get to see them grow and send them on their way."

Kidman said that her daughters are part of her support system while talking to PEOPLE for the magazine's 50th anniversary in April 2024.

"I have my sister, mother, nieces, nephews, daughters. I'm raising a soon-to-be 16-year-old and a 13-year-old, who are divine. They're just lovely people ," she said.

Bella Kidman Cruise , 31

Kidman and Cruise adopted daughter Isabella Jane shortly after her birth in Miami on Dec. 22, 1992.

"From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies ," Kidman told Vanity Fair in 2007. "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that's when we would adopt [our daughter] Bella."

Though she grew up with her father in Beverly Hills, Isabella – who goes by the nickname Bella – has stayed mostly out of the spotlight. She graduated from West London's Delmar Academy of Make-up and Hair, before transitioning to a career in fashion.

The burgeoning designer got her start working for Holmes and Yang, the fashion line of Cruise's ex-wife, Katie Holmes . She started her own line , BKC (a.k.a Bella Kidman Cruise), in 2018, selling t-shirts adorned with her own drawings.

"Bella has been an artist her entire life. Her go-to medium is marker on paper with her inspiration for her artwork drawn largely from friends, fashion, and music," a statement on her line's site reads .

In 2015, she married British I.T. consultant Max Parker , and though neither of her famous parents attended the nuptials, Cruise reportedly helped pay for the event, while a Kidman source told PEOPLE that she was " very happy for Bella ."

While Bella tends to keep a low profile, she does maintain an active Instagram presence , regularly posting photos of her art along with the occasional selfie. In March 2023, she even debuted a new hairstyle on the app, showing off her newly dark brunette shag haircut and bangs.

In December 2023, former NFL player Derrick Brooks shared a photo on Instagram of himself posing with Bella, Connor and Cruise at a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game — the actor's first public outing with his two older children in nearly 15 years.

"Good Evening, Wow, look who stopped by my office before our @tblightning game tonight! @tomcruise. I was a little star struck but played it cool and He said he was too!" Brooks wrote in his caption.

Connor Cruise , 29

Kidman and Cruise adopted their second child, son Connor, just after his birth in Florida on Jan. 17, 1995. Though her marriage to Cruise ended six years later, the actress has expressed her gratitude for the relationship, as it brought her her two older children.

"I got married really fast and really young," Kidman said in 2012. "But I don't regret that because it got me Bella and Connor and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period."

Connor grew up in Los Angeles, and got his first real taste of the spotlight in 2008, when he acted alongside Will Smith in the drama Seven Pounds . Though he also had a role in the 2012 action film Red Dawn , he switched to music as a teen, releasing his debut single in 2013 and landing DJ gigs around the country.

Connor is also an avid deep-sea fisherman, a passion he attributes to his travels with his parents growing up. "We used to go fishing a lot when I was a little kid," he told PEOPLE in 2016. "I was blessed to travel the world as a young kid and now I'm traveling the world working."

The 29-year-old now resides in Florida and dedicates much of his time to fishing, as a source told PEOPLE in 2018. " Connor has a pretty simple life in Clearwater ," the insider said. "He lives in his own home in a Scientology community. His life is deep-sea fishing. He has a lot of friends and seems very well-liked."

In addition to his personal Instagram account — where he occasionally posts snaps of his impressive catches — he also runs a separate account dedicated to his barbecuing business, Connor's Meatshack .

Most recently, Connor shared a photo from a golf outing in April 2023. In the snap , he can be seen giving a thumbs up to the camera as he hits the course with a friend. "🏌️‍♂️⛳️," he captioned the image.

Sunday Rose Kidman Urban , 15

Kidman and Urban welcomed daughter Sunday Rose on July 7, 2008, in Nashville. According to PEOPLE, Kidman's father first suggested the name Sunday in honor of the Australian patron of the arts, Sunday Reed. The couple, who claim Sunday as their "favorite day," were clearly on board.

When Sunday was young, the family relocated to Tennessee. In addition to picking up her parents' Australian lingo, Sunday adopted a bit of a Southern accent.

"My daughters are Nashvillians! They have a southern drawl," Kidman told PEOPLE in 2016. "They have some Aussie. They have an unusual mix. They're hybrids."

Her Aussie accent isn't the only way she's following in her mom and dad's footsteps — Sunday has had a passion for music since she was a little girl.

"She sings incessantly," Kidman said in 2010 of her then-2-year-old-daughter. "She has a repertoire of about 30 songs: 'The ABC Song,' 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Traffic Light,' 'So Long, Farewell.' "

It also seems like Sunday wants to follow her mother into the filmmaking industry. In a 2018 interview for TIME 100, Kidman shared that Sunday was already thinking of pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

"I'm raising a little girl that's showing an interest in directing right now, " she said. "I want her to have a path for that."

At the 2017 Palm Springs International Film Festival, Kidman told E! News that Sunday also does some acting: "My daughter just got cast in her school play," she said. "So, that's been the main priority, learning lines with her."

Sunday and Faith made their red carpet debut in April 2024 at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, where their mom was the evening's honoree. "They're very, very supportive and incredibly loving ," Kidman told PEOPLE at the star-studded Los Angeles event.

Faith Margaret Kidman Urban , 13

Kidman and Urban surprised fans when they announced that they had welcomed daughter Faith Margaret via gestational surrogate on Dec. 28, 2010, in Nashville.

Like her sister, Faith's name has a sweet meaning. Despite their fertility struggles, Kidman and Urban " never gave up faith they'd have another child together," a friend of the couple told PEOPLE after her birth. As for her middle name, "Margaret" comes from Kidman's grandmother.

Juggling two young daughters with Kidman and Urban's busy careers isn't easy, though the actress told PEOPLE in 2019 that their family always comes first.

"At this stage in our lives, it's what works for the family and what works for our own joy," she said of avoiding jobs that mean too much time away from their daughters.

Kidman and Urban have done their best to keep their daughters' lives private, though both Faith and Sunday have occasionally made public appearances over the years. They were extras in their mom's HBO show Big Little Lies , and voiced baby birds in the film Angry Birds 2 . The girls even became close with the children of Kidman's Big Little Lies costars, as she explained to PEOPLE.

"They've grown up with those kids because I had them on-set around Monterey, and I'm like, 'Playdates, playdates!' " she said.

The pandemic brought on new challenges for Kidman's two younger children. Speaking to Glamour U.K. in November 2020, she explained that Faith and Sunday were " working through the emotions " of social distancing.

"One of the hardest things is just watching them pine and yearn for their friends," she added.

Earlier that year, Kidman spoke to Marie Claire Australia about how her husband was outnumbered and had to retreat from the "female-heavy" house on occasion.

" We're definitely female-heavy ! But as the girls say, 'The dog's a boy!' " she joked, adding that her husband finds solace in one of his shared hobbies with Faith.

"Oh, and he Googles cars — I'll know when he's stressed 'cause he's Googling cars," she said. "I couldn't care less what car I'm driving; you can pick me up in any old thing. But Keith and Faith love cars."

Though Kidman rarely posts her children on social media, she did share a sweet tribute for Faith's 11th birthday in December 2021. "Happy birthday our darling Faith. You are loved beyond measure," she captioned a photo of her daughter's birthday cake.
