WEST MIDLANDS SAFARI PARK FIREWORK FESTIVAL

WHAT: WEST MIDLANDS SAFARI PARK FIREWORK FESTIVAL WHY: FIREWORK FESTIVAL WHEN: 7 TH AND 8 TH NOVEMBER 2020 WHERE: WEST MIDLANDS SAFARI PARK, BEWDLEY, WORCESTERSHIRE COST: ADMISSION TO WALK ROUND THE PARK AND FIREWORKS £16.00 - ADMISSION AND RIDE WRISTBAND £29.00 PER PERSON (3 YEARS PLUS) - LITTLE PENGUIN RIDE WRISTBAND £8.00 (0.8 METRES AND UNDER)

One of the select few organised Bonfire Night events which will still be going ahead this year is taking place at the lovely West Midlands Safari Park in Worcestershire.

With numerous safety guidelines in place, they have been allowed to continue with their plans to hold the fundraising display, which is fortunate, particularly given the recent news that a number of Zoos and animal parks are really struggling to feed the captive animals, because of the huge drop in visitor numbers.

Whilst you will be able to take in the sights of the walk-through areas, the safari drive through is closed, and will remain so for sometime, for the protection of both the visiting public and the animals.

The gates will be open from 1pm and the last entry to the park for the firework event will be at 6pm with the fireworks due to be lit from 6.30pm. Please note that the Park and Ride will close at 9pm and the lemur woods close at 4pm and the African Village will be at 5.30pm.

You and your family can enjoy areas like Ice Age where you can learn about the different geological impacts on the animal and plant life from 34 million years ago to the current day. You can wander through the Land of the Living Dinosaurs, pop along to Penguin Cove and watch the incredibly funny Humboldt Penguin enclosure, which forms a part of the European Breeding programme to help to maintain this little creature for future generations. The West Midlands Safari Park is committed to conservation some of the rarest and most threatened animals on the planet today, whether because of climate change or as a result of damage to their living environment.

FAT CAT 50 SHOT FAN CAKE #EpicFireworks

Lorikeet Landing will also be open which houses this highly coloured and incredibly inquisitive, charming little bird. You can also check out the Creepy Crawlies, the Reptile World and the African Village and the popular Sea Lion Show.

Food and drink is available on site but bear in mind that there are special restrictions still in place which may mean it is easier to take along your own food and refreshments to avoid unnecessary contact.

There are special measures in place and you must adhere to the following guidelines or respectfully, be asked to leave the park immediately:

  • Face coverings are mandatory for the entire event, both indoors and outdoors. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering, please ensure you wear the ‘I am exempt from wearing a face covering’ badge so we understand your situation.
  • Guest numbers have been reduced for each day.
  • Please remember to keep at least 1m apart from others and adhere to the one-way systems.
  • There will be Covid Champions around to help with social distancing, but it must be your responsibility to act sensibly during and post the fireworks display.
  • Anyone not following the guidelines will be asked to leave the Park without a refund.
  • There will not be a stage or bonfire this year, as to avoid a congregation around a focal point.
  • Please be aware that following the firework display, guests will want to enter back into the Theme Park to make use of the rides. It is important people do not crowd these areas and listen to instructions from our Covid Champions.
  • If the Government guidance changes and we have to cancel the event, we will contact guests with bookings to discuss refunds.
  • Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell, with any of the symptoms of Covid-19. Please get in touch and we can discuss offering you an e-Gift Voucher reimbursement to use at another time.
  • We recommend using hand sanitiser and hand wash stations regularly, which are situated throughout the walk-through areas of the Park.
  • Free Return Tickets or Codes are not valid for this event.
  • Annual Passes are not valid for Admission to this event, but a 25% discount is available for ride wristbands, when purchasing these on-site and showing your Pass at the Wristband Office.
  • Timings are approximate and subject to change.
  • Adventure Theme Park rides charged extra. Height restrictions apply.
  • Theme Park ride wristbands can be purchased separately on-site during your visit.

The Safari Drive-through will be CLOSED throughout the event weekend.

Bonfire Night

Amazing and total worth every penny. Amazing fireworks, amazing food, amazing atmosphere. The only thing I have to say is the rides are a little old now and could do with a few new ones coming in but all looked amazing at night with the lights.

Made our annual trek here for bonfire night along with the Mrs one of my sons and his partner along with my grandson and stepson local radio station were doing the music along with the show and what a show one of the best displays around, attendance was very good and you can see why.

We booked to see Santa at 930 on Sunday 3rd December. Taking a 6 year old, 3 year old and 11 month baby, the whole experience was fabulous. The staff were all in character and trying extra hard to go above and beyond - particularly the crazy elf girl in the craft centre who was brilliant! As we were early there were no queues, we had a lovely sleigh ride to the North Pole and then our visit with Santa who was charming and put everyone at ease. The kids got to choose their own pressie from Santa’s workshop which they really enjoyed and the complimentary photos were great. Then we visited Mrs Claus (Santa is definitely punching above his weight ;-) ) and had delicious cookies and mince pies with hot chocolate. We had booked the 1030 bus safari, our guide (from Blackpool) was great, very knowledgable and friendly. There weren’t loads of animals about but that’s the time of year I guess. We still enjoyed it. Then we had a couple of hours round the rest of the safari park, including the new boj Park which was fabulous! The craft centre is also a lovely touch to let the kids do colouring and sticking write a letter to Santa. The whole day as brilliant and well worth the money. Would definitely recommend.

We have just visited the safari park. The safari was good as always and the new Boj playground is an excellent new addition enjoyed by my daughters. We were booked onto the Santa safari between 15:00-15:30, we arrived at 15;00 and after waiting 30 mins we made it into what we thought was Santa, nope it was a Santa sleigh ride which was good for the kids but as we were the first in the queue we sat at the front, after the ride, the people behind us got off first so we ended up behind two sets of families that were originally behind us. Having been on this we thought Santa was thru the doors, nope it was more queuing. Once we got to Santa after an hour of queuing he was very good, maybe in peek times they need more Santa rooms. We enjoyed looking round the park which was very Christmassy and the staff were very helpful. We would go again but would keep in mind the time it took to get to Santa with 2 young children.

We visited today for the Santa booking..... Wow very impressed with the thought and attention to detail that has gone in to the Santa experience! We booked to see Santa early to try and avoid the queues and it worked out really well. Santa was done first and then we could do as we pleased the rest of our day. Our time slot was 9.00am - 9.30am. The walk though to see Santa was brilliant and looked very festive and magical. While waiting to see Santa the elves really interacted with the children and kept them entertained. 5 stars for the Santa as well, he was really good with the kids. After seeing Santa the children got to pick their own toys, there was some really good toys. Our little boy was amazed as he had just told Santa that he wanted a Power Ranger soft toy for Christmas off him and when he walked out to pick his toy, there was a pile of huge Power Ranger soft toys! Couldn't of planned it better! We also got, included in the ticket price two free photos with Santa. We then went off to Mrs Claus's kitchen, again included in the ticket price, the adults got a hot chocolate or mulled wine and a gorgeous Mince Pie. The children both had a choice squash or hot chocolate and a giant cookie. We thoroughly enjoyed the dinosaur walk through, we have two little dinosaur fans and they thought it was amazing. We did have to stock up a new couple of dinosaurs from the gift shop! We also got a free return ticket each or you could go to the information desk and exchange this for two free children's reading books per ticket. We did this as knew we would be unable to return by the use by date. My only disappointment was that due to checking dietary needs for the animals on safari there was no feeding allowed at all, which we were all really looking forward to. However everything else, the enthusiasm of the staff and the thought that has gone into the little details made up for this and I'd still give our day out tops points. Days out are expensive as it is, then when you add all extras on such as refreshments, photos, gift shops etc you can end up spending another £50- £100 plus again, with all the thought that has gone into the Santa package there wasn't need for this if you didn't want to, making it a great affordable day out for all the family to enjoy. Well done WMSP!

Just had our vow renewal party at this venue. The whole experience from start to finish was perfect. The staff couldn’t do enough to help. The house is a stunning location with the cellarz offering a completely different venue of subdued lighting and Moroccan feel. Wonderful night in great setting

A big attraction is Hopfest on Fire in Bewdley which will feature live music, street food and kids activities together with a bonfire and fireworks displays.

Look out for smaller events planned for sports and social clubs around the region too, many of which are offering funfairs and food and drink stalls for families .

Whilst it is possible to turn up at the gate for some Bonfire Night displays, it is often best to book in advance to avoid disappointment. We will keep updating this guide with more events as they are announced in the run up to November 5. Tell us where you will be going in the comments below.
