We stayed at Tawa Resort, run by Madhya Pradesh Tourism, in end-October. Located on the bank of the vast Tawa reservoir, this former inspection bungalow is a traveller's delight. The service, however, needs improvement. The manager is not as hands-on as in other properties of MPT. Sometimes the resort is rented out for weddings and the like, when other guests are impeded. The boat rides at sunset are truly memorable

Excellent property over-looking the vast expansive backwaters of river Denwa. Spacious rooms and good food. Cruise in the water body on "Jalpari" is an added bonus. Boat ride from the resort to Madhai was outstanding.

The place scenic beauty is good, but in the dam / water body hardly any water now. That is disappointing. Had lunch in the restaurant, good food quality. Quantity is also fine. The staff members are helpful.

We have stayed at MP Tourism Tawa resort on 8th and 9th March.we really enjoyed awasome hospitality and excellent simple homely food.it was a great surprise to us. On 9th March our marriage anniversary they have decorated one table for us and whole staff & Mr Vijay kumar greeted us with flower bouquet and presented a gift. I am really appreciating and thankful to Mr Vijaya kumar and his team as they have not left any stone unturned for our comfertable stay We do recommend every one to enjoy this great location and hospitality.

Relaxing and enjoyable stay

Being senior citizens we had planned for having a carefree and relaxing two day stay at madhya pradesh tourism - tawa dam resort. Upon reaching the site we were overwhelmed with the scenic beauty of the location, atop a hillock adjacent to the catchment area of the dam. There was clear blue waters as far as we could see. Bonus was there was a pier and boat rides available which we did the same evening. We had reserved the independent hut unit. The room was spacious and well maintained with all amenities as listed in the details. Since the resort is located in a slightly remote jungle type area, it is an ideal place for complete relaxation. All requirements like food, tea & snacks, linen, water etc are looked up by the MPT Tawa Resort, Tawa, making us totally free to enjoy the environment and relax. The food served was good and sufficient buffet layout. The staff was cordial and gave a personal touch. There was also newly added provision for outdoor work out equipments. Overall had a carefree, relaxing and enjoyable 2 days.

Excellent weekend gateway from bhopal

We were planning a short family trip to a nearby place and zeroed on the place madhai but to our disappointment, the bookings were full. As an alternative, we took a short trip to mp t tawa resort and it will be an understatement that it was a wonderful place. The drive is great from bhopal, surrounding of tawa resort is breathtaking. If you wish to go for a jungle safari, you can take a speed boat ride of half and hour ( more than 20 km) in tawa river to reach safari pickup point. Safari trip was great, although we could not sight he big cat but we saw may other animals and birds. Services and hospitality was also good in the resort and we had great fun in the swimming pool overlooking tawa river. It's a must recommended weekend gateway. Best time to visit is probably from october to february but we enjoyed our trip in jun e also.

We loved the stay at this beautiful resort - A very picturesque location with outstandingly beautiful rooms and beyond exceptional staff - The customer service and staff friendliness is unmatched and they deserve 5 stars for it. Mr. Suyog Ashley called a day before to ensure our arrival time and we enjoyed and relaxed every minute of our stay from the time we arrived at the time we checked out. I stayed for the weekend with family, the staff was courteous, the rooms were nice, and the food was tasty. Moreover, the pool was fit to swim. However, the dam-facing room was much better in terms of cleanliness as compared to the forest-facing one (we booked each of both types. Also, service speed could be increased a bit. That apart, the whole experience was worth it. P. S. - there is no network there, only bsnl works

Dinning area is too small and kind of feels stuffy. Not many people were there so social distancing was possible. The location is excellent. Wonderful views. A lot of area is under renovation though so a lot of construction materials lying around. Not child friendly as not outdoor sports activities available. It was a best stay of my life till now, the view was breathtaking and the sunrise was so heavenly, pool side view was good. The food was delicious little less variety in buffet but the taste was 😋 yummy it’s worth the mention Tea was wonderful. And the staff was so helpful and making your stay comfortable, cosy and hassle free. Also you can take bicycle of resort and rome around explore the stay.

Stay was good. Staff was courteous, food was also good. Room was nice. Had booked standard room which i found very small, so upgraded to bigger one. Room was clean and good, however property needs little maintenance. Walkway needs to be built for boat ride when lakes water level is down. Better time to visit is sometime after rainy season starts as water level in reservoir was low.

Madai Tiger Reserve and Tawa Dam

Tawa Reservoir is a reservoir on the Tawa River in central India. It is located in Itarsi of Narmadapuram District of Madhya Pradesh state, above Betul district. The reservoir was formed by the construction of the Tawa Dam, which began in 1958 and was completed in 1978. Satpura Tiger Reserve (STR) also known as Satpura National Park is located in the Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh in India. Its name is derived from the Satpura range. It covers an area of 524 km2 (202 sq mi). Satpura National Park, along with the adjoining Bori and Pachmarhi wildlife sanctuaries, provides 2,200 km2 (850 sq mi) of unique central Indian highland ecosystem. It was set up in 1981.

How to Reach:

The nearest airport is RajaBhoj Airport in the city of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (70 km) from Narmadapuram and (120 km) from Tawa which has daily flight service to Delhi and Mumbai. One can easily get taxi from Bhopal to Tawa.

The nearest railway stations is Narmadapuram to reach to Tawa. Tawa is 25 km from Narmadapuram railway station.

• How to Reach

Satpura Tiger Reserve can be reached by road from/via Bhopal (170kms), Jabalpur (250kms) cities. There are 03 entrances for Satpura Tiger reserve visit. First is close to Pachmarhi Hill station, Second and popular one is form Madhai Entrance gate which is about 100kms from Pachmarhi close to Sarangpur village. Madhai Entrance Gate is about 19 kms inside from Pipariya-Narmadapuram road. Diversion for Madhai is close to Sohagpur town. Third Entrance is for those who are staying in MP Tourism: Tawa Resort located on Tawa Dam. It is close from Narmadapuram town. In order to reach Satpura, we recommend large cars with good ground clearance feature as approaching roads is muddy, rough and often poses great problem during rainy seasons. At the same time, due to lack of sigh-boards, consult local villagers or resort manager to reach the resort comfortably. The third wildlife destination Churna forest is located on Narmadapuram- Itarasi-Bhaura-Betul road. The tourist can reach Churna, which is 50 km inside STR from Bhoura. Tourist have to travel 50km from Bhoura to reach Churna rest House.

There are two improtant airport for reaching STR. Nearest one is Bhopal airport(220kms) and second one is Jabalpur airport have direct Flight connectivity with Delhi and Mumbai. Even Nagpur can be used to reach Satpura.

By Railway:

Nearest railway station for satpura Tiger Reserve are:- Itarsi, Sohagpur, Pipariya and Narmadapuram.
