The ACIS team went above and beyond setting up and providing virtual guided tours for our school during the pandemic. The tours were both personalized and interactive. It was an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone trying to make study abroad possible without being able to travel. The best approach for school trips

ACIS was a Rock Star!

ACIS was a rock star for me when I took a softball team to play in Italy. As a History Teacher, we were at many historical sites, they did a great job with our accommodations, and hit a homerun with my students for dining and being part of the fantastic culture of Rome, Florence, and Naples. We were placed in good hands with our tour guide, Julia, and our bus drivers. I would definitely take another tour with ACIS. My contact at ACIS, Tom Heigham, was able to answer every question I had, and he kept me apprised of everything I needed to know for my players. We had the most fantastic trip to Greece

We had the most fantastic trip to Greece! Traveling in February to Athens, we met our tour manager and dove right into the itinerary. Our group consisted of 47 students and 5 chaperones. The ancient sites were breathtaking. All of our tour guides were knowledgeable and knew how to engage high school learners. Jeff, our tour manager, kept us moving but magically knew when it was time to take it a little easy. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the food was unforgettable!! Jessica, our state side ACIS contact was extremely helpful throughout the entire organization process. Her enthusiasm always keeps me going. I cannot think that any aspect of the trip could have been better! Even the February Greek weather was great! It was warm and we had snow capped mountains in the background of our pictures.

Convention to Budapest

I recently traveled on a teacher convention to Budapest Hungary. This was my 8th convention and probably the most amazing one ever. The trip was perfectly planned, the ACIS staff and the tour leader Peter Ede were exceptional! Everyone was so happy to be back traveling, and of course, Budapest is always fun and breathtaking!

Covid 19 experience

I am working with Jessica Ricci and the whole experience has been wonderful. Jessica and everyone at ACIS have been so understanding and helpful during this Covid 19 time. We were very sad we couldn’t travel, but they were able to move all of our trips, reimburse parents and answer all questions and concerns in a timely manner. We have our summer trip planned, and we are hoping to be able to travel since we miss it so much! Communication has also been great, fast and effective.

$175 to "reactivate my account", terrible customer support

This company wants to charge me $175 to "reactivate my account" so I have the "privilege" of signing up my student for a trip. By far the WORST customer support and clunkiest website I have EVER used. I would give them zero stars if I could

To explain what happened: We give travelers early registration discounts with the understanding that they will pay the deposit. If you do not pay the deposit after four attempts to warn you via email we do cancel your account and open space for someone else. If you contact us and there is still space, we will get you on, but if not, we will need to add you the wait list. If there is a special circumstance we will waive it, as we did for you. Trusting ACIS with my travel since 2010

I have used ACIS for 8 of my nine overseas trips. They have listened to my requests and accommodated me without fail, offered private tour buses for my groups (usually we have about 25 students per group), and we have always had top notch hotels and food offerings at each location we have toured. The tour managers have been super knowledgeable, offered hints and suggestions whenever time permitted adding something in, and have been uniformly FANTASTIC!

A confident teen!

My daughter (13 Yr old) just went to Paris and Madrid with her school. She had a fantastic time with her friends on this trip and learned so much about history and herself. This experience has changed her for the better. She came back more responsible, mature, and confident. Her confidence has shown most in how she has handled herself moving to a new school this year. When talking with her, she stated that a new school is easy since she was able to navigate successfully throughout foreign countries and different languages. ACIS made this possible through their thoughtful planning of excursions and activities and excellent logistical planning so that even unexpected events (strikes) were not an issue and did not detract from the overall experience. I will 100% be sending her again before she finishes high school.

Like no other

I have tried to travel with other Educational Travel Companies in the past and never have had success, I believe due to lack of hands on involvement and personal connection. From the minute I contacted ACIS, there has been tremendous support getting my trip put together, a group formed and assistance with any troubleshooting needed. Even at 4:00 am in the airport I had a number I could call and a real person answered to help. They are incredibly student centered, thoughtful and helpful.

I loved my Europe travel experience…

I loved my Europe travel experience with ACIS and highly recommend them! We took a middle school group to Italy for the first time and it was awesome! Our guide was so knowledgeable, organized and fun, the kids loved him! Our program manger was helpful, encouraging, and flexible when some changes had to be made. ACIS is an outstanding student travel company

ACIS is an outstanding student travel organization. Two years ago, I took a trip to France and Spain with art students and was really surprised at the quality and depth of the experience, as well as the fun factor and overall accommodations. Our district art teachers have used ACIS for nine years. One year a teacher decided to go with a different company to save a little money and the difference in trip quality was huge. She returned to ACIS the next year. ACIS hotels, food and travel experiences are very good to excellent. The guides and staff are excellent. An ACIS tour is non stop touring/adventure from early morning until late night. It's very organized and works like clockwork. Also, they are terrific about working with teachers to personalize a trip to meet particular needs.

Soul of Southern Italy Tour March 2022

I have completed two international trips with ACIS. One to Greece in March 2019 and one to Italy in March 2022, which was originally scheduled for March 2021. Understandably, we were nervous to be traveling again, but ACIS took such good care of us! They made everyone (teachers, students, and parents) feel safe and secure. Everyone was fully vaccinated, and we were able to do everything we wanted to do and go everywhere we wanted to go. The hotels were high-quality and the food was delicious. Our tour manager could not have been any more helpful, informative, or caring. We were a large group of 35, and he really helped streamline everything for us. ACIS was in constant contact to make sure everything was going well, and I wouldn't have trusted any other company in these uncertain times.

Japan’s Global Conference

As always, this was an amazing Global Conference. ACIS provided great structure and organization with excellent and knowledgeable local guides as well as a great ACIS support team. They managed to fit lots of experiences into a relatively short time. All accommodations were centrally located and comfortable allowing us to navigate easily in our free time. Even though everything we saw was amazing, considering this was an adult trip, a little more down town would have been nice. The schedule was extremely tight and not much time to relax and enjoy our surroundings was given. Thanks ACIS for providing this incredible opportunity!

ACIS is miles above the rest :)

I have been teaching for 31 years and traveling with ACIS for 17. I did try other travel companies but none can even come close to ACIS. From start to finish, they are there to listen and support you. Preplanning is at YOUR leisure and they are prepared to customize trips and make suggestions based on what your participants want. I cannot say enough about the Tour Managers- professional, helpful, knowledgeable, kind and masters of managing. I have been to 8 countries with them and ignited travel fever in 176 participants. Some of them have returned as chaperones after graduating! ACIS treats their teachers well. They keep their programs fresh, cultural and are expanding more and more into sustainable tourism, service learning and leadership tours. I give ACIS an A+.

My Trip to Greece with Chantilly HS

What an amazing experience! Anna went over and beyond the call of duty, she has to be my most favorite tour guide so far, extremely well spoken, very knowledgeable, sweet etc etc... Our driver Nestor was the best, had some music for us to relax and enjoy the ride. Good old Nina, amazing tour guide, very friendly. ACIS you rocked this trip

ACIS continues to shine

I have been traveling with ACIS for years, and their reaction to traveling during the pandemic underlines the reason why. They have been extremely communicative, there was never a question of what the policies were, and what the deadlines were. In fact, they were extremely generous in their refund policies. In a time where they could have easily stuck to their written policies, they went above and beyond and led the industry in terms of balancing business and fairness. I continue to choose to travel with them because of these reasons and look forward to our Italia 2020 trip in 2022!

Can't reach anyone at all. Terrible customer service, and our child has not even departed yet! the (apparently very inexperienced) "customer support specialists" can't even manage to sign their NAMES nor answer basic questions via email. OH WAIT, you can waste an hour of your busy workday calling and listening to an annoying voice yap and yap with idiotic answers to NO QUESTIONS AT ALL, or you can ChAt WiTh OuR SuPpOrT SpEcIaLiStS DOH.

I don't recommend this Tour company. I purchased the 100% Refund policy and had to cancel my daughter's trip within the timeframe given. When I cancelled, I was told it will be "within 45 days to receive my refund". I was ok with that. But it ended up being a refund that was piecemealed. A portion to my checking account. A check sent in my daughter's name?? And then beyond the 45 days I still was outstanding $1,900. I kept getting emails with push back and excuses that didn't align with what was on their website. If you run into problems, contact the Attorney General's Office of Massachusetts and open a complaint. (AG's office told me they had multiple complaints filed against them; they were ultimately resolved). They stepped in and helped me retrieve my money. Good Luck!

I went to Spain with this agency and it was a horrific experience. I do not recommend this travel agency to anyone, it's a waste of money. Our tour manager, Almudena, was incredibly disappointing, unfriendly, and undeniably inflexible. The itinerary's are packed and "free time" to explore the city on your own are incredibly limited and non-existent. If your looking to explore a country, and have a great experience, this is not the agency for you. Our group was additionally abandoned by the agency following the airline cancelling our flight home. Customer service is also incredibly difficult to get ahold of; I complained in June and didn't hear back until August. I also felt my complaint was completely brushed off. Overall, I do not recommend this agency at all.

My trip was canceled due to the pandemic 2 years ago. They refunded some of my money, not all of it, then gave me a voucher with $1,000 credit. This year I tried to redeem the voucher. They never pick up the phone. Only once have they actually picked up so that I could talk to a live person. I began exchanging emails with a representative. They wouldn't let me choose my own tour, I had to pick a fixed date tour. The one I chose turned out to be full and the only option left is the most expensive one. They said I'm already late for registration and that I have to pay in full ASAP. I tried to call them and they won't pick up, and I know they're not closed yet!

The clunkiest website and the absolute worst customer support I have EVER experienced. The sign up process is painful and they wanted to charge me $175 to "reactivate my account"..... yup, read that again.... they wanted to charge me $175 so I could simply sign up for a trip because I "waited too long" between creating the account and putting down a deposit. Unbelievable.

ACIS refused to refund the deposit for our tour when Covid hit. They offered a travel vouchers for later use. We contacted them to confirm the expiration date of the voucher and was told a different date that what was printed on our vouchers (we misplaced our vouchers with a lot of things going on). We told us it was Dec 2022, but when we later found our vouchers, late this year, the actual expiration date is Dec 2023. It was too late to do anything, We contacted them with the email trail of their rep giving us the wrong date, but they refused to accept our request of extending for 12 months so we can plan. They don't even accept the fact that their representative made the mistake. I understand that it was printed on the vouchers, But not to even considered the entire situation does not show that they are good people to work with. There is no person to talk to, just a chat line and they just disconnected me on the chat line when I discuss the issue. They keep our $2000 for what exacly the service provided, when everyone refunded our airfare, hotels due to covid?

Poor communication and customer service. Acis was charging my credit card as American Council and not sending receipts. They then failed to communicate when my account went negative and attempted to charge double. Customer service did the bare minimum to resolve the issue. Let's hope the trip goes better.

This time last year I was returning from a trip to France with my daughter's HS. Ah...the memories! About 20 years ago I went to France with my mom's French class with another tour company, not quite this caliber. ACIS, our guide, bus drivers, and it helps to have a good teacher that is leading the trip. After reading some negative reviews I feel that someone didn't share the proper information or someone didn't read the details. Our trip was about $4000 for 11 days in France - Paris, Loire Valley, St Malo, Rouen, and back to Paris. The level of hotels were wonderful, only one without AC, but I enjoyed the window open with a breeze. Showers were nice and great breakfasts. Limited elevators at one, but only two flights of stairs. After all the walking we did, a couple flights of stairs isn't a problem. The guide, Sonya, was magnifique! We followed a schedule everyday and we saw as much as possible. She had heard me mention Fragonard and ended up finding some time to stop by. WOW! By my fitbit measure, we walked about 12,000 steps each day. Bus drivers were fabulous with getting our luggage off and on the bus, getting us through crazy busy streets and super friendly. If you are going for relaxation...this is not it. This is a GO GO GO way to travel, but we saw so much. Would I do it again? You bet! We have a wonderful French teacher to lead them again. My #2 daughter and husband are going June 2019. I can't wait to hear about their trip.

I am about to take my 21st trip with ACIS. I am loyal to them because they have always delivered a quality experience. The very FEW times that something has gone awry, they have overcompensated to make things right. I have never had a problem getting in touch with a real person in an emergency, via their 24-hour emergency line. Once the President himself even answered! Excellent hotels, above average food, experienced and fun your managers...I can't say enough good things about ACIS. There are cheaper options out there, but they are just that. CHEAP. So go ahead, trust your educational travel experience to a company that will take good care of you no matter what!

We had to cancel our sons trip, at the appropriate cutoff date, due to COVID-19. Today has been exactly 2 months before any refund began in no less than 10 transactions at odd amounts, not even the amounts we paid at ANY time. Not only are they still short $1,189 from even showing up they are not honoring the insurance revision of everything refunded with the exception of $50. No one will return your call or communicate with you but they have specific deadlines when you have to pay them. I would not recommend anyone I know or don't know for that matter to do business with this company! We had the ultimate plan and should have been refunded all but $50 yet they are keeping $370 for whatever reason they have yet to explain! I was made to choose a rating star otherwise it would not post but in reality I would give them NO STAR rating!

If you have a few more days to spare, venture into the dreamy Russian countryside in Suzdal or Sergiev Posad. Suzdal is a small town with a population of about ten thousand people, situated on less than 15 square kilometres. This tiny area is home to 53 historic cathedrals, five monasteries and a kremlin. Church domes are visible like mushrooms from anywhere and everywhere in the town like in a fairy tale. No wonder Suzdal is called the ‘Town Museum”.  It is definitely worth visiting!
