Dave Mason Announces 2023 Summer Tour

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer DAVE MASON kicks off his summer tour on Wednesday, May 17 in Davenport, IA and continues east with performances set in Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Hartford, New Brunswick and beyond. The twenty-two date current summer leg will end on June 28 in Boston, MA with the Steve Miller Band. This perpetual ongoing world tour is a testament to Mason’s six-decade enduring role as a Rock Icon as well as the unrelenting support of his music loving fans the world over. A self-described endangered species, Mason, who will celebrate his 77th birthday on May 10th, enjoyed a successful live tour run this winter and is thrilled to get back out on the road to see his friends and fans - “There is nothing quite like performing live. I love it!” exclaimed MASON.   Fast on the heels of this new tour leg launching, MASON, who has been working in his studio between tour dates, will be releasing new music including “Roaddogs” which has been a hit with audiences at his live concerts this year. The new release is cut with his current touring band, and features classic MASON guitar riffs over an infectious groove as he sings about his life on the road for 60 years as a working artist doing what he loves to do. MASON is one of the most enduring rockers still performing, and his shows are rock and roll history. "Roaddogs" looks back fondly but it's just the beginning of what MASON has in store for us in 2023 and beyond.

Joining MASON on this run is longtime band member Johnne Sambataro on guitar and vocals, and exciting new additions with Marty Fera on drums, welcoming back Tony Patler on keyboard and vocals, and Ray Cardwell on bass and vocals. This new lineup will perform Mason’s most loved and iconic songs as well as deep tracks and fans can always count on a few surprises.   Even when Dave Mason isn’t on tour, he’s still in creative mode. His upcoming memoir - Only You Know and I Know -is set for release in late 2023. In Mason’s classic style he tells his story in a refreshingly straightforward and authentic manner. Like his music, his memoir is genuine and warm. And he’s always in his studio, writing and recording. New music will also be released later next year.   Written when he was only 20 years old, Dave Mason is likely best known for “Feelin’ Alright?”, one of the most beloved and covered rock anthems since its release in 1968. The timeless song continues to be a powerful and enduring moment of rock and roll history, featured in dozens of films and TV commercials as well as interpretations by artists as diverse as Joe Cocker, Three Dog Night, Grand Funk Railroad, ELO, Coldplay, The 5th Dimension and so many more. A new version of this classic was re-recorded and released in July 2020 featuring Mason alongside Mick Fleetwood, Sammy Hagar, Michael McDonald and The Doobie Brothers: John McFee, Tom Johnston, John Cowan and Pat Simmons. Dave Mason Announces Endangered Species Tour 2023

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason has announced the dates for his upcoming Endangered Species Tour in 2023.

"At 76 years of age, I'm still loving performing live concerts. I feel grateful for that, and to tell you the truth it surprises the hell out of me. I've been doing it for over 60 years and the love is still there," Mason wrote on Instagram while revealing the tour dates.

He added, "Yep, I sing all those songs that first hit the airwaves in the 60's and 70's. And I'm still a strong believer in the magic of music. There aren't old songs or new songs, in my mind at least, just GOOD songs. Or not?."

"It's subjective of course. I'm a "rare bird", so to speak, sticking to the tour life and to music, and you're invited to join me in 2023!" Mason continued. "No fireworks, no flashing lights, no go-go dancers, no special effects. Just great songs and a promise of a heart filled performance."

The winter tour is scheduled to begin in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 19, and end with twin performances in Chicago, Illinois, on February 20 and 21.

Mason's memoir, titled "Only You Know and I Know," is set for release in May, 2023.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has announced a 22-date Endangered Species tour, which kicks off May 17 in Davenport, Iowa, and hits such cities as Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Hartford, Annapolis and more. 

“There is nothing quite like performing live. I love it!” Mason shares.

The tour also includes two nights with the  Steve Miller Band : June 24 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and the tour closer on June 28 in Boston, Massachusetts. 

And fans can expect a lot more from Mason this year. He’s set to release his memoir,  Only You Know and I Know , in late 2023, and will also be releasing new music later in the year.

Samara Joy Releases ‘You Stepped Out Of A Dream’ + Announces New Album ‘Portrait’

Bronx-born jazz singer Samara Joy , who won the best new artist Grammy in 2023, will release her third full studio album, Portrait, on October 11th via Verve Records. 

To give fans a sweet taste of what’s to come, Joy, 24, has released Portrait ’s lead single “You Stepped Out Of A Dream.”

Joy and her seven-piece band intro the song with a light bossa nova arrangement. The Grammy-winner swiftly comes in with crisp velvety vocals. The band and Joy provide a fresh, contemporary take on the vocal-jazz repertoire while honoring its rich history.

With music written by Nacio Herb Brown and lyrics by Gus Kahn, “You Stepped Out Of A Dream” has been recorded by an impressive array of iconic artists since the song was published in 1940. Samara Joy joins a list that includes Nat King Cole, Dave Brubeck, The Four Freshman, Art Garfunkel, Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Julie London, Johnny Mathis and many others with her new interpretation.

Reflecting on the album, Joy stated:

“A well of inspiration that never runs dry because of the different streams that flow in, constantly pouring into the main source. That’s what comes to mind when I think of this project and the musicians who created it with me,” says Joy of the project. “Eight musicians, eight fresh perspectives and musical backgrounds – all joined together in a context designed for growth and exploration. Designed to put our pens and minds to work creating music inspired by many but still uniquely our own. Because of the incredible depth of musicianship and creativity infused into the sound of this band, I’m honored to be able to present Portrait, shaped after a year of development and revision on the road.”

Co-produced by Joy and veteran trumpeter/bandleader and multi-Grammy winner Brian Lynch, the 8-song album features her touring band, an octet featuring trumpeter Jason Charos, trombonist Donavan Austin, saxophonists David Mason and Kendric McCallister, pianist Connor Rohrer, bassist Felix Moseholm and drummer Evan Sherman.

White Nights

Although the phenomenon known as the "White Nights" is not unique to St. Petersburg, in no other northern city have they received such poetic and literary acclaim. In fact night becomes curiously indistinguishable from day, so much so that the authorities never need to turn the city's streetlights on!

Oasis fans react to “biblical” reunion tour news: “Never thought I’d see the day”

Liam and Noel Gallagher will finally reunite on stage next summer

Oasis fans have been expressing their excitement for the band’s 2025 UK and Ireland reunion tour – check out the posts below.

The Gallagher brothers will reunite after 16 years for a series of huge stadium shows next summer, following reports that their long-awaited comeback was finally on the cards .

Liam and Noel are due to share the stage at Manchester’s Heaton Park and London’s Wembley Stadium, and will also perform in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin. It will mark the formerly estranged pair’s first gigs together since 2009.

The dates are billed as Oasis’ only live shows in Europe in 2025, but a press release states that “plans are underway for ‘OASIS LIVE 25’ to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year”.

Today’s news was accompanied by a new photograph of Liam and Noel standing side-by-side, and a brief statement about them finally burying the hatchet: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

Tickets for ‘OASIS LIVE 25’ go on general sale at 9am BST this Saturday (August 31) and will be available here for UK shows , and  here for the Irish dates .

Following the massive announcement, Oasis fans have been responding on social media – as have figures from the music industry and beyond.

Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders shared an image of a Noel and Liam photograph in a book along with the message: “Good luck everyone!” Savages frontwoman Jehnny Beth – who collaborated with Noel on Gorillaz’ 2017 single ‘We Got The Power’ – wrote: “It’s foocking happening!!!”

A fan said “the world has healed” now that the Gallaghers have reconciled. Another person wrote: “Never thought I’d see the day. YOU AND I ARE GONNA LIVE FOREVER! ❤️.”

Former professional footballer and Oasis fan Peter Crouch posted: “I’m so in! 👊🏼.” Elsewhere, an X/Twitter user simply called the comeback “BIBLICAL”. Another wrote: “The biggest band in the world are back.”

Aside from the initial wave of excitement, fans have been anticipating how difficult it could be to secure tickets to Oasis’ 2025 tour. One said: “I am already stressed about getting tickets.”

A second person joked that they were “not sure my bank account will survive this”, while a third commented: “I just know the server isn’t ready.” Meanwhile, another said they “will be there no matter what”.

The band have not yet revealed who’ll complete the line-up alongside Liam and Noel, but this week saw newspaper reports claim that “no other original Oasis member is expected to join the reunion”  and that “the members of Noel Gallagher’s  High Flying Birds  will step in for the concerts”.

As it stands, the tour schedule leaves Oasis free to headline Glastonbury 2025 – which takes place the week before, from Wednesday June 25 to Sunday June 29.  Other acts rumoured to top the bill currently include Eminem ,  Rihanna ,  Sam Fender ,  Taylor Swift  and  Ed Sheeran .

Liam used his  Reading Festival 2024 headline set  on Sunday (August 25) to tease an announcement. The  social media accounts of Oasis and Noel soon shared the same teaser , telling fans that news would be coming at 8am today.

News of the highly-anticipated tour – reportedly set to make a colossal £400million – comes ahead of the band releasing a 30th anniversary reissue of their seminal 1994 debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ on Friday (August 30).

Liam has recently been playing the record in its entirety on a celebratory solo tour throughout this summer, including his bill-topping sets at Reading & Leeds last weekend.

At the southern edition of the twin site festival, the singer  dedicated ‘Half The World Away’ (a classic song sung by his brother) to “Noel fucking Gallagher” . He further stoked rumours of a reunion when he played the same track during his Leeds gig , and told the audience: “It is very interesting innit? It is a very interesting situation we’ve found ourselves in.”
