Journey to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in a Hummer to Diamond Creek. A new adventure tour to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in the safety & comfort of a Hummer H2.

As part of the Grand Canyon Diamond Creek Tour, we will drive down the only road there is to the bottom of the Canyon, this road will take us to the shores of the mighty Colorado River.

This adventure has it all, we will take historic route “66″ into Peach Springs, Arizona home to the Hualapai people. Now for some light off-road fun in the Hummer as we descend to the bottom.

The scenery is spectacular, this is a true adventure tour we are out in the elements. Once we reach the Colorado River you can kick back put your feet in the river and just relax or for the more adventurous people you can do a nice hike and explore the inner beauty of the Grand Canyon, you might just find your own private waterfall.

A picnic lunch is included with refreshments, surrounded by the majestic views of the Grand Canyon and the soothing sounds of the Colorado River. We are at Diamond Creek for approximately 2 hours. There is a photo stop on route”66″ at the Hackberry General store.

Once at the bottom of the Grand Canyon this is a sandy & rocky environment with flowing water. For the guests that wish to hike, we recommend a change of shoes, water shoes, and sandals (if you don’t mind getting wet). You can even sit in the waterfall (we’d recommend a change of clothes for that though). Big Horn Tours will supply towels if needed. Late spring, summer, and early fall are best times to enjoy this part of Diamond Creek.

This tour is a true adventure, so Mother Nature will sometimes dictate what we can & can not do. Big Horn tours will not be held responsible for unforeseen weather and or road conditions that might alter the tour schedule or your tour guide deems to be a safety issue.

Michael Sinatra was the performer along with his lady counterpart Valita Leigh-Garcia, who we liked even better. Michael did not attempt to impersonate Frank, but did his own interpretation. the two had a tough job as the audience was very small that night which was likely disappointing, but they still provided energy and excitement and made it a special evening for us. I'm based in Santa Monica and when I visit Las Vegas it always seems the town has lost a little more elegance. This last trip I saw Frankly Frank starring a guy named Ryan Baker. It felt like old school Vegas was alive and classy again! My wife loves crooners and this show was fantastic. No frills, just talent and poise, with some laughs mixed in. L'Etape Las Vegas by Tour de France canceled due to high winds

UPDATE 5/4 |  The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Las Vegas Events announced Saturday that L’Etape Las Vegas by Tour de France, scheduled for Sunday, May 5, has been cancelled due to unsafe course conditions caused by high winds.

“We are extremely disappointed to announce the cancellation of L’Etape Las Vegas by Tour de France,” said LVE President Tim Keener. “We have been in consultation with local officials and followed the models presented by the National Weather Service as of 5 p.m. today. Due to the forecasted high winds above the allowable thresholds, we had no choice but to cancel the event for the safety of the riders, staff, volunteers and vendors.”

The riders, representing 30 states and 8 countries, will receive an automatic registration to the 2025 event.

ORIGINAL | The upcoming L’Etape Las Vegas by Tour De France bicycle race is almost and officials want to warn residents of some upcoming closures.

The race is slated to have three-course options for novice-level riders to advanced cycling enthusiasts, with distances set at 75, 45, and 25 miles.

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will administer the following road closures and plan restrictions on parts of SR-159 and SR-160 in west Las Vegas and Clark County on Sunday, May 5.

SR-159 (W Charleston Blvd./Red Rock Canyon Rd)

• SR-159 will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions from Desert Foothills Dr. in west Las Vegas to SR-160 from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
• Las Vegas Metro Police will escort local traffic to and from residences during the closure. 
• Drivers will not be able to access the Red Rock Scenic Loop or nearby hiking trails during that time.

SR-160 (Blue Diamond Rd./Pahrump Valley Hwy)

• The westbound lanes of SR-160 will be closed between the junction with SR-159 and mile marker 27 (near Sandy Valley Rd) from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
• Nevada State Police Highway Patrol will conduct a pilot car operation to maintain both directions of traffic flow using the eastbound travel lanes. 
• Drivers should expect major delays.

The Bureau of Land Management Red Rock/Sloan Field Office also announced the temporary closure of certain public lands under its administration on May 5, 2024, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The closure area includes the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area 13 Mile Scenic Loop Drive, which will be closed to all vehicles and personnel except law enforcement, emergency vehicles, event personnel, event participants, and Bureau of Land Management personnel. 

Access routes to the closed area will be signed to indicate a closure ahead. No vehicle stopping or parking in the closed area, except for designated parking areas, will be permitted. 

Organizers urged participants to remain within designated areas only, public spectators will not be allowed on the event route.

The following restrictions will be in effect for the duration of the closure. Unless otherwise authorized, the following activities within the closure area are prohibited:

• Public access to the Visitor Center within the closure area
• Public use of Visitor Center restrooms
• Public use of parking areas and restrooms within the closure area
• Parking any vehicle in violation of posted restrictions, or in such a manner as to obstruct or impede normal or emergency traffic movement or the parking of other vehicles, create a safety hazard, or endanger any person, property, or feature. Vehicles so parked are subject to citation, removal, and impoundment at the owner’s expense
• Operating a vehicle through, around, or beyond a restrictive sign, recognizable barricade, fence, or traffic control barrier or device
