Breakin’ Even presents Staycation

Summer means music festival season. But why travel to Coachella or Lollapalooza if the festival will come to you? That’s the idea behind Breakin’ Even’s Staycation, which will bring a handful of Mid-Atlantic rock and punk bands to Pie Shop over two nights. Baltimore’s Dosser, specialists in guitar-forward, loud-quiet-loud rock; Pittsburgh punk act Nightmarathons; sarcastic Philly DIYers Trash Boy; and Brooklyn pop-punk power trio Fat Heaven make up the out-of-town contingent, while D.C. will be repped by Flowerbomb — winners of this year’s Wammie for best rock band — plus emo-punks Dear Spring, self-described “power slackers” Venray, newcomers Little A, and Peak Bloom, which just released a debut EP. July 7 and 8 at 7 p.m. at Pie Shop, 1339 H St. NE. pieshopdc.com . $15-$25.

KeiyaA self-released her debut album, “Forever, Ya Girl,” on March 27, 2020, at a moment when the pandemic was causing great uncertainty, anxiety and fear around the world. While the timing was coincidental, the masterful album served, in some ways, as a balm for folks on the same frequency as the Chicago-born, Brooklyn-based artist. “Forever, Ya Girl” is a salutation that reveals a universe of sound: heat-warped synthesizers, skitter-shuffle beats and the richest instrument of all, KeiyaA’s voice. Amid occasional clips of crosstalk and conversations, the singer-songwriter-producer delivers lyrics that mine poetry from political liberation and personal experience, which, with her pen, sound like the same thing. July 12 at 8 p.m. at the Pocket, 1508 North Capitol St. NW. thepocketdc.com . $20-$23.

Tony Shhnow

Tony Shhnow is a leading proponent of plugg, a laid-back and lethargic subgenre of trap music, but no matter how blunted the beats, the Atlanta rapper is a self-confident motormouth with no shortage of boasts and bluster. Shhnow helped establish his name on songs by collaborators Father and TiaCorine that feature lyrics like, “She think she found love … you should find yo’ keys” and “I used to want love, now I want drugs.” For his latest project, “Love Streak,” he brandishes those bad-boyfriend bona fides over flipped samples of R&B jams by the likes of Solange, whose “I could’ve been in love by now / If it wasn’t for Tony” lyric finds new meaning in anti-love anthem “If It Wasn’t For Me.” July 12 at 8 p.m. at Songbyrd, 540 Penn St. NE. songbyrddc.com . $15-$25.

Erykah Badu

These days, the economic realities of the music business mean most artists release albums as a way to build buzz for tours. That’s not the case for Erykah Badu, the neo-soul pioneer whose last full-length album came out in 2010. Generations of fans still flock to see the enigmatic singer-songwriter, and her influence continues to be felt in music and beyond (she popularized the phrase “stay woke” in her 2008 song “Master Teacher,” years before it became a hashtag). And the love is mutual: “What happens between the audience and the artist is a very special thing,” Badu told Vibe. “I feel like myself the most when I’m there. So please expect to feel like yourself when you come be around me.” July 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Capital One Arena, 601 F St. NW. capitalonearena.com . $29.95-$325.

In other news, Badu’s song ‘Caint Use My Phone (Suite)’ was featured in episode five of Donald Glover’s horror thriller series  Swarm .

Last month, she also called out for those on the right-wing for racism in their criticism of the “woke” slogan .

When asked about the term being co-opted by the right wing, she responded: “I think they mean ‘Black.’ Yeah. That’s just another way to say ‘thug,’ or something else, right?”

The singer added: “It is what it is, it doesn’t belong to us anymore. And once something goes out into the world, it takes a life of its own. It has an energy of its own. I can tell you what ‘woke’ means. It means being aware, being in alignment with nature…”

The neo-soul singer’s most recent album was her 2015 mixtape ‘But You Caint Use My Phone’ .

Neo-soul singer/songwriter Erykah Badu (born February 26th, 1971) has become one of the most praised artists in R&B and soul, drawing comparisons with Billie Holiday with her vocal talents.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, US, Badu studied at a school of arts where she cultivated her musical abilities, growing up with a love for 70s soul and 80s hip hop. Her first break came whilst she was working as a teacher and part-time singer, when she opened for D'Angelo in 1994. Her performance caught the attention of D'Angelo's manager, Kedar Massenburg, who was so impressed that he signed her to his label, Kedar Entertainment, before then arranging for Badu to record a cover of Marvin Gaye and Tami Terrell's duet, "Precious Love."

Badu's debut album, "Baduizm," arrived in 1997, finding fans with her bass-heavy R&B and her emotive, delicate vocals. The album was produced by Massenburg and also featured members of the Roots on several tracks. Her first single, "On & On" topped the R&B charts, with the album also peaking at the top spot. The album also faired well in the mainstream pop charts, bolstered by high profile support slots with R&B stars as well as hip hop acts, including Wu Tang Clan.

She returned to the studio in 2000, recording her sophomore release, "Mama's Gun," which utilized the production talents of Badu herself, James Poyser, Bilal and Jay Dee, scoring a hit single with "Bag Lady." Badu followed "Mama's Gun" a year later with 2003's EP, "Worldwide Underground." Badu pushed her sound towards a heavier, more abstract neo-soul with 2008's "New Amerykah, Pt.!: 4th World War," which featured members of Sa-Ra and Georgia Anne Mulldrow. The album was a huge success, peaking at number two on the Billboard 200, with this stylistic move continuing with 2010's "New Amerykah, Pt. 2: Return of the Ankh," although being a more light-hearted affair. Following this release, Badu has featured on a number of recordings with various artists, including Bonobo, Tyler the Creator, and Flying Lotus.

Live reviews

On the last day of the year, I’ve generally stayed at home with candles lit and music on, while writing and reflecting on the upcoming year. My plans would have probably been the same for 2012, but one person changed all that. Erykah Badu. Upon discovering she was spending her New Year’s Eve in Oakland at the Fox Theatre, I did what any fanatic fan would do – I immediately sent word out that I was going and asked if anyone wanted to join. I feel as though she and I share a special bond. We do have a few things in common – we are both water signs (she’s a Pisces, I'm a Cancer); she also attended my alma mater, Grambling State University. I would love to say that I knew her while I was there. It would be nice if I had bumped into her a time or two on campus and knew she was going to be somebody (at Grambling, the motto is “The place where everybody is somebody,” so I guess all students are somebody). But, alas, we were not on campus together; I believe she left the year before I entered the University. But I do actually know someone who really knows her, so there’s something else we have in common. Enough of the digression. One thing I clearly remember from my Grambling days is listening to Baduizm for the first time in 1997. I was in my last semester, set to graduate and officially become a “grown” woman. Gone would be the safety net of college life; now I had student loans to repay, a car note to worry about, and a job to secure. So in my life walks this woman singing about her cipher moving like a rolling stone, picking her friends like she picks her fruit, and asking who gave anyone permission to rearrange her. And I recall thinking, she's absolutely right on point! Erykah’s lyrics and music were refreshingly different than most R&B of the 90s. While we had Mary J. Blige singing about Real Love over a hip-hop beat, Erykah sang about Next Lifetime and No Love. She was an inspirational change of pace, and I clung on to her every word. I am a lover of everything Badu. When Mama’s Gun was released in 2000, I just knew she wrote many of those songs about my life. From Didn’t Cha Know, to . . . & On to Kiss Me On My Neck, Erykah’s growth was apparent. So, back to her show on Dec. 31, 2012. It’s been 15 years since Baduzim’s debut and Erykah has subsequently released five more albums. Each has showcased an ever-changing Badu, but one thing has remained consistent – Erykah’s live performances. They are NEVER a disappointment. Strolling on stage while her band played a lazy and drawn out version of 20 Feet Tall (it came across as if they were still in sound check), she paused at the microphone, taking in all the audience love, before proclaiming, “My love, what did I do to make you fall so far from me?” At the end of the song (and come to think of it, she did this on every song), Erykah struck a warrior/goddess pose. The next three songs (The Healer/Hip Hop, Me and My People) are all from New Amerykah: Part One (4th World Order) – the one album whose meaning I’m still working on grasping. This provided me, however, the perfect opportunity to stop and do some video recording. Playing On & On and . . . & On back to back, Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop) followed with a surprise appearance by Oakland’s own Raphael Saadiq who, according to Erykah, provided the base line for the song. (Side note, I normally am up dancing to this song, but I sacrificed this time so I could record this performance for my readers. I’m glad I did.) As the clock neared midnight, the band began the first notes of Danger. About half way through the song, a count-down appeared on the screen behind the stage and we all stopped, screamed happy New Year, and went back to partying. During Back in the Day (Puff), Erykah exclaimed, “Now is the opportunity for you to smoke,” as if that hadn’t been already occurring. At some point, she took her shoes off and ended the night with Didn’t Cha Know, the first verse from Out My Mind, Just in Time (the one song I just had to hear) and Bag Lady, which I think was an appropriate song to finish with because in the new year, I definitely will be working on letting the bags go!

Perhaps it was my fault for having high expectations... To kick off a month of festivities celebrating my wife's birth, I surprised her with tickets to Erykah Badu. She has seen her perform in the past in Memphis, but this was my first time and I had heard wonderful reviews... that she puts on an amazing show; commands the audience in a way only Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin did. Tonight was not the case. The opening act, Ro James, was meh. I congratulate him for pursuing his dream (if only everyone did that), but his show sucked for the most important reason. The sound was horrible. I have always feared this was the state of most hip hop concerts... That there is no way to get the live sound to imitate CD quality... Or the people working the sound are unknowledgeable, or the equipment is subpar... For whatever reason, the sound quality was horrible. On a positive note, he performed a song about asking consent when hooking up with a woman and I think that is a strong message that more men need to share with other men. So, overall, he gets a favorable review.

Erykah Badu was pretty amazing, but overall, the show was meh. I could have saved $165 (total cost for 2, $62 tickets and service fees). The Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi is a horrible venue. The drink and food lines were incredibly long, as if they were understaffed, though the restrooms were clean and never crowded.

Erykah's voice was good and sounded like she is taking care of herself, but she did get tired. Did a few old songs as well as some new ones. She came on a little late, which allowed us to stand in the longer than usual line for snack... only to begin right when we were close to the front. Her back up band was really good. They played one set. She did not really engage with us, the audience. A few songs after mentioning that she was tired, she finished and left the state.

Oh yeah, and did I mention that she was performing in Mississippi, but kept calling it Memphis. While Southaven is in the Memphis metropolitan statistical area, it is still Mississippi and so not Memphis!

In conclusion, I am glad I saw her perform. I am happier that I was able to spend a wonderful evening with my wife. Will I pay to see her perform again? Most likely not, though I love her music.

So she pulled a Lauren Hill Last night at the Brooklyn Bowl. My Girlfriend was really looking forward to see he for Post valentines day. We paid 17 Dollars for parking $ 100 dollars for drinks ..we stood in a huge line to get in and get our tickets on the ticket the show time is 8PM .. ( Figured she would be a litle bit after that no big deal ) standing room only were are all packed in like sardines.. no opening band.. 1 hour goes by , no Erykah 2 hours go by no Erykah, 2 hours and 45 go by no Erykah ...3 hours no body even came out to greet all these people who have paid good money and have been standing waiting for over 3 HOURS past show time.there were drinks being poured down from the upper balcony and started getting really ghetto in there.. People started booing and a bunch of people left to get refunds.. Brookyln Bowl was very helpful with the refunds but someone there should have been wise enough to apologize for the delay..fter we left she finally took the stage after 11: 30 PM played for about an hour.. By far the worst concert experience ever.. I really hope Brooklyn Bowl holds her responsible and takes out the refunded ticket cost out of her pay..I will never buy another ticket to see Miss Ba.. I really was looking forward to going to the brooklyn bowl tainted my first experience but I will go back because they did offer a refund ..I feel very sorry for that poor lady who was refunding all those tickets.

One of the most acclaimed R & B singers Erykah Badu has been touring extensively since her beginnings in the mid-90's. Her soulful sound has captivated fans around the world and her shows are almost always guaranteed to sell out so the opportunity to see her perform live feels even more special.

Often criticised for arriving onstage late, Erykah walks on to the atmospheric setting and the audience fall deadly silent as herself and each of her band are illuminated by singular spotlights. Standing for a moment to indulge in the sight before her, Badu smiles broadly before taking to a synth pad and beginning the fragmented '20 Feet Tall'. Her biggest international hit 'On & On' is dropped midset and given a jazz style makeover which sounds great with the freestyle instrumentals.

Erykah uses her own voice as an instrument as she performs vocal acrobatics cheered on by the crowd. Her own backing band keep the rhythm and pace whilst Badu freestyles making every concert feel original. A tender rendition of 'Next Life' and the ever popular 'Bag Lady' leave the audience satisfied.

I absolutely LOVEEEEEE Erykah Badu, but her timing is awful, the show began at 8 and she showed up at about 10, maybe 10:30 because there was a performing act that came on before and I lost track of time but that's just not okay to paying people expecting a show to be at least two hours and only amounted up to about one. However, her energy and presence is awesome, once she showed up I couldn't even be mad anymore I was just so happy to be experiencing her live and in color, she has such a colorful personality and truly knows how to engage her audience and that's great. I do realize she was there to promote her mixtape but I also think it was a bit too premature since it dropped so recently and no one really knew all the material or could sing along which I felt she could sense and went back to her old hits and then the crowd was really into it, I just wish I could get more out of the concert. There were definitely a few more songs I would have LOVED to hear, other than that she's an awesome performer.

Erykah Badu is a high energy performer. Her band was truly talented and her background singers took this performance to the next level! They all rocked it! Only good things to say about this woman's showmanship and professionalism. Show started on time and the vibes were amazing. The only downside of this excursion was the venue. I flew 500 miles to see this show and because of the security at the venue we missed the first 3 songs in the set and had to stand in the pouring rain for 2 hours before we could get inside. The Observatory North Park really needs to rethink their security procedures. It's not a well planned system at all. I considered leaving and asked about a refund, but was told this wasn't possible. All in all I'm glad I stayed for the show because it really lifted my spirits after the security fiasco, but I'll never see another show at this venue. Not for all of the money in the world.

DISAPPOINTING!!!

I live in Austin, TX, I took the day off, drove up 35, checked into my hotel, had a SUPERB dinner at Fleming’s in Plano, TX, drove down to The Bomb Factory, paid $20 to park in a lot at Malcolm X & Taylor, walked to the venue, got through security, got my ticket scanned at 7:50 PM CST.

Festival seating, no seats!!

Act # 1 (Techno DJ), Act # 2 (DC drummer), Dead Prez (3 songs)

I purchased a $30 T-shirt for my daughter

We tried to hold up until Ms. Badu made her stage appearance.

We left the venue at 11:10 PM CST

I Love Ms. Badu, but last night was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Have always and will always love Erykah’s contribution to music BUT... she takes her fans in Dallas for granted. Tickets stated doors open at 7pm show starts at 8pm. Opening act didn’t start until 9. She came out during his set to say hello, so she clearly was at the venue but she made her fans wait until after 12am to hear her perform. I don’t know of anyone worth waiting that long. There were people who left without seeing her. Disappointed Ms. Badu You may be the envy of the women and rule the men but I’ll just listen to the music from the comfort of my home in the future.

This was one of the best experiences I've had in my entire life! It was amazing. I'm a huge fan and she DID NOT disappoint.. She covered various albums and even went as far to join other melodies from other songs into the hooks of her songs. Her voice was so off the charts that I had to hold my chest cause I didn't think my heart could stay intact during her high notes. Haha, I will DEFINITELY be going to her concerts whenever she comes back to the area. Thanks SongKick for making your platform available to me.

The show was just ok for me. I couldn't get over the fact that she did not come on until 9:30 when the show was supposed to start at 8. This was my first time and last time attending a concert of hers. My time is valuable just like the artist and if any artist cannot respect their fans I would suggest the fans stop supporting their artist. My fiancee seen get years ago at the beginning of her career and she was on time. Money can really change a person. Sad.

When it comes to popular culture nowadays it is inevitable to notice that there have been many foreign influences that have shaped the current trends and what is deemed popular in the newer generations. Over the past few decades, we have seen many Eastern countries become more and more culturally and economically influential, which has led to an unsurprising new level of cultural exchange between Western and Eastern countries. One of the best examples when discussing the cultural relevance of the East in our modern culture is the popularity of Korean popular music. Often called K-pop, this genre of music has taken our culture by storm both online and in many social circles frequented by the younger generations. So, let’s look at K-pop and why now is the best time to get into it.

One of the things to understand when discussing the popularity of K-pop is that this is a phenomenon that has been around for a while. While now these acts are so big internationally that you’ve probably heard him on the radio or in movies without even knowing the reality is that there has been a pretty fervent support of these bands in the West even before their level of popularity. One of the big things that led to K-pop becoming so popular in the West is the Internet. There is no debating the fact that the Internet has made it so much easier for cultural exchanges to happen organically between users which has led many communities to regroup around their love for a certain thing that might not even be available in their own country. That much was very true for K-pop a mere 10 years ago.

Even if you are unfamiliar with K-pop you might be familiar with the concept and the power of advertisement behind The South Korean music industry. It’s hard to discuss K-pop without discussing are different certain aspects of Korean culture are compared to how we operate in the West. A lot of cultural phenomena in Korea are very different from what we would see grow in the United States for example. This is why for example we haven’t seen any other artist be able to replicate the success of Psy’s Gangnam Style ever since its release. There is of course a lot to be said about the way the Korean music industry operates but there’s no debating the results that they produce.

So why is now a better time than ever to become a K-pop fan? The answer might seem very simple and pretty easy, but the reality is of course that the Korean music industry sees a lot of appeal to making their music more widespread and available to Western audiences who crave access. What does this mean concretely? It means that the South Korean music industry is finally investing a lot of money into making their acts available for consumption in a way outside of South Korean or Eastern markets. This is why massive K-pop groups like BTS, Twice, 2NE1, and of course, BlackPink have started touring the US. If you spend any time online at all you might see plenty of younger people discussing gossip about those bands or upcoming albums since there is a very real enthusiasm around the whole culture.

One of the things that makes K-pop so appealing is that there is very much a desire to replicate the phenomenon of boy bands that the US added in the 1990s which add a very specific type of popularity. K-pop also has this image of glamour that is very reminiscent of Korea’s most famous and infamous district, Gangnam. Gangnam is one of the largest and probably most expensive districts in Seoul which houses a lot of high-end apartments, Bars, and nightclubs as well as fancy eateries like Gangnam Ten Cafe. There is something almost movie-like in the way Gangnam and K-pop culture are portrayed. While the reality of K-pop might not be as glamorous for certain bands and certain things that have been discussed in the South Korean news the reality is that the image remains like it does for the Hollywood industry.

If you’re a bit older you might be wondering what the appeal is the reality is of course that Korean popular music is much more oriented towards younger people especially younger women. Even if you don’t understand the phenomenon you need to understand that cultural exchanges between the West and the East are nothing new. One of the best examples of this is seeing the popularity of many Japanese animated shows in the mainstream over the past few years. Shows like Delicious in Dungeon and Chainsaw Man show that whether it be music or animation or anything people have a desire to discover new things from other cultures and have a taste for international entertainment.

At one point or another, we have all experienced exhaustion. Exhaustion is unfortunately just a part of life, especially if you have a busy schedule. Exhaustion is not a nice feeling, especially if you are unable to escape the duties that cause the exhaustion.

Exhaustion can have a negative impact on all parts of your life. It can make doing even the most basic tasks difficult and it can take its toll mentally. It is impossible to think straight when your brain isn’t operating at its full capacity, which is why exhaustion can be so dangerous to your everyday life.

As well as taking its toll mentally, exhaustion can actually begin to manifest itself physically if it is experienced for some time. You may not even realize that you are experiencing exhaustion, but your body will tell you if you are.

Your body immediately shows signs of exhaustion, even after just one night of poor sleep, and these signs are not entirely attractive. Exhaustion is not something you can just fix, but you can take care of the signs that your body produces. Here is how to fight signs of exhaustion.

One of the biggest signs that you are experiencing exhaustion is eye bags. After even one night of poor sleep, you will wake up the next day and have dark circles under your eyes. A lack of sleep can lead to puffiness under the eyes and dark circles, which can make you look run down and tired.

If you want to permanently get rid of your eye bags and dark circles, the best thing that you can do is get yourself on a consistent sleep schedule. You should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night and if you are not, you will notice that your dark circles will only continue to get worse.

If you are unable to get enough sleep due to a busy schedule or other reasons, then you may be looking for a quick cosmetic fix.

You can actually use products to cover up the look of dark circles, such as a color corrector and concealer. These can be applied on days where you don’t want your dark circles to be visible, but they are not a long-term solution for your issues.

If you want a more long-term solution for fighting your eyebags, a common remedy that a lot of people use is hyaluronic acid. You will notice less severe tränensäcke nach hyaluronsäure treatment and it is something that can be added to your daily routine. It is recommended that you use it before bed and after you have washed your face in the morning.

Something that you may not know is that exhaustion can also lead to the development of wrinkles. When you are exhausted, dehydration becomes a big issue and as you likely know, dehydration can cause the development of wrinkles.

Exhaustion can impact the elasticity of your skin, which means that your skin will not be able to bounce back easily, leading to wrinkles.

A great way that you can combat this is by making sure that you are drinking as much water as you can. Other drinks can actually dehydrate your skin and so it is best to avoid fizzy drinks and alcohol when you are trying to repair your skin.

You should also have an extensive moisturizing routine in place for your teens. As you start to get older, your skin loses a lot of the elasticity that it may have had, which is only made worse by a poor sleep schedule and exhaustion.

You should make sure that you have a quality moisturizer, as well as other products. You should try and use a retinol oil whenever you can, as this will keep your skin hydrated, which can reverse the appearance of exhaustion.

If Problems Persist

If you change your lifestyle, but still notice that you are experiencing signs of exhaustion, you may need to seek further medical treatment. There could be an underlying reason for the changes in your body, which may not be fixable with simple cosmetic treatments. You may need medication such as sleeping pills to deal with your exhaustion.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that education is the most important part of a child’s development. From the moment they are born they are learning about the world. Of course, it isn’t until they start to grow that they can actually understand and comprehend the things they are learning. And it is at this point that they usually will enter into a schooling system.

But there is one huge problem facing the current education systems. And it is one that has become compounded over hundreds of years. And that is the idea that education is all about facts and knowledge. But this is a dangerous assertion. In our quest to ensure our children are getting the best education possible, we have pushed aside the importance of nurturing their emotional intelligence. But what is emotional intelligence? And why is it so important to teach our children about it?

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence is the ability for someone to understand, not only their own emotions, but the emotions of others as well. Now this might seem quite obvious, but it is important to realize that there is a huge difference between knowing what an emotion is and understanding it. Especially for a child.

For example, a child could very easily know what anger is. If their parent has shouted at them after they did something naughty. But they most likely won’t understand why that parent is angry. Instead they will associate their parents’ reaction with the physical thing they did. And this is where the issues start. But we will touch on this more later.

Why It Is Important

If you examine a traditional school curriculum you will see a lot of subjects that, while important, aren’t necessarily useful for every child. It is very important that children learn the basics of science. But continuing to learn chemistry into their teenage years won’t be useful for a child who is more inclined towards acting or writing. And, in the same way, studying geography won’t be super useful for a student who is leaning more towards a more mathematical career.

But  emotional intelligence is always important . Because, unlike a lot of subjects, it is something humans have to use every second of their life. Even if they are most introverted, it is vitally important that they can understand and process their own emotions.

Emotional Intelligence is the basis by which humans interact with one another. It is the foundation for everything from basic manners to the entire field of psychology. Yet our school systems virtually ignore it. And the damage it is causing is already very noticeable.

Mental Health Issues

As a society we have gained a better understanding of mental health than ever before. And, sadly, we are also seeing the highest rate of mental health issues in people than ever before. Some of this can be attributed to the state of the world. But we believe that most of it can be traced back to the severe lack of emotional intelligence of people.

Earlier we made the point about how a child would associate anger with a certain action, rather than fully understanding the emotion. And this is the foundation of a lot of mental health issues. Without proper emotional education, people will grow up associating their emotions with exclusively outside stimuli. But it isn’t as simple as that.

The emotions we feel can be based on a huge number of factors. And some of these factors we might not even be aware of without giving ourselves time to process our feelings. And this is how a lot of mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, are formed. A person might assume they are upset because they got shouted at by a customer at work, which is upsetting to be sure. But it could be that they are actually upset because of an unresolved issue in their past.

Teaching Emotional Intelligence

Teaching emotional intelligence is something that should start the moment a child is born. It is both a passive and active education. It is passive in the way that children will learn emotional intelligence from observing your behavior. The mantra ‘Treat others how you want to be treated’ is a prime example of this idea.

Active emotional education is a very vast field. There are many different ways to go about it. The most effective ways are using various techniques such as avoiding negative reactions, using positive reinforcement, encouraging a child to meditate and finding ways to express their emotions. This last one is especially important as not everyone expresses their emotions in the same way. What works for one person won’t work for another.

For example, one child might express their emotions with their words, while another might only be able to express their emotions through art. Allowing a child to experiment with different methods of emotional expression will prepare them for adult life. Have them explore different mediums such as poetry, dance, beautiful love quotes, drawing, journaling, working out. Eventually they will find a method that clicks with them.

The most important thing to instill in children is an understanding of how empathy works. Most people naturally feel empathy, but not everyone understands it. So it can be confusing to children when they are suddenly sad because someone else is. If they don’t learn to comprehend empathy, it can become quite debilitating for them in later life.

In 2012 the world was introduced to the Hunger Games movie. Based on a series of extremely popular books, it saw people taken from their numbered districts and placed inside a massive arena. They were then forced to engage in the last man standing deathmatch. A brutal premise that is often attributed to the Hunger Games. But the first instance of this trope was actually from the 2003 manga, Battle Royale.

You may notice this manga has the same name as the gaming genre based upon the same principle. And for good reason. All those games have their history firmly rooted in that manga. Today, the battle royale genre is one of the most popular gaming genres out there. So we are going to take a look at some of the most popular Battle Royale games on the market and try to decide which one is best.

Fortnite is easily the most popular and well-known battle royale game on the market. It has been at the center of numerous controversies and scandals surrounding their own legal battles with companies such as Apple, and the issue of rampant child addiction to the game.

But all of that aside it remains very fun and easy to access the game. The battle royale formula is shaken up a bit by the inclusion of the ability to build structures as you play. This allows for greater tactical decisions and lots of creative freedom as well. The game also allows players to make their own game modes and even have their own skin submissions sold in store.

The game remains popular with its crossover events, recently crossing over with the marvel comics and now The Mandalorian as well. It seems Fortnite is not going to slow down anytime soon, and we are more than happy with that.

PUBG is often seen as the main competitor of Fortnite or is used to be. The two games were night and day. While their basic premise was the same, their styles and tones were different. PUBG takes a much more realistic and gritty approach to the genre. No building or cartoon characters. Just real guns, environments, and tools. And the community has plenty of working pubg cheats and aimbots from veterancheats to give you an edge against the more professional players.

This appeals much more to the audience that enjoys traditional shooters such as CoD and Battlefield. But in recent years PUBG has started to dwindle. Mainly due to the fact its creator, PlayerUnknown, has been involved in numerous PR issues and scandals for his horrible behavior. We wouldn’t be surprised if the game fades into obscurity very soon.

A vastly different take on the genre. Fall Guys blew up at the start of 2020. Taking inspiration from shows such as Ultimate Ninja challenge and Total Wipeout, the game is presented as a TV show where the Bean shaped people must compete for crowns. Only one can be the victor in the end.

The game is wholesome fun. No shooting or killing, just a series of randomized mini-games that sees more and more players eliminated each round. This game has broadened the market for battle royale games and shown companies what can be done with the genre with a little creative thinking and flair for design. The game is now into its third season and we cant wait to see what it does next.

CoD: Warzone

As we said before, PUBG was the place CoD players went when they wanted to play a Battle Royale mode. But COD: Warzone is the final nail in the coffin of PUBG. Now CoD players have their own Battle Royale mode that is, by all accounts, fantastic.

The game features some truly breath-taking environments with lots of places to hide and explore. Paired with CoD’s signature gun-play and loadout systems, people can take their  favorite loadout  into battle and test their mettle against one-hundred other players.

It is difficult to pick a definitive winner. If we went off player-based and community engagement, then Fortnite would win simply based on the fact that its player base is boosted by the younger crowd. But if we looked at player satisfaction we would argue that CoD: Warzone is the current champion of the Battle Royale Genre.

Since its release in 2011, Minecraft has become a cultural phenomenon, known for its creative gameplay, expansive virtual worlds, and thriving community. One aspect of the game that often goes unnoticed but plays a pivotal role in the overall experience is its music.

Minecraft’s music, composed by C418 (Daniel Rosenfeld), is an integral part of the game’s atmosphere and has a profound impact on players. The music sets the tone and creates a sense of immersion as players explore, build, and interact within the game’s blocky landscapes. In this discussion, we will delve deeper into the significance of Minecraft’s music and how it inspires both players and musicians alike.

Exploring Minecraft’s Soundtrack

Minecraft’s original soundtrack is a collection of ambient, minimalist compositions that perfectly complement the game’s tranquil and open-ended gameplay. The music is characterized by gentle melodies, soothing tones, and atmospheric sounds, creating a calming and immersive experience for players. It seamlessly blends into the gameplay, enhancing the sense of exploration and adventure.

Among the iconic tracks from the game is “Sweden,” a serene piano piece that has become synonymous with Minecraft. This track is often associated with the game’s peaceful environments and is beloved by players for its nostalgic and evocative qualities. Other notable tracks include “Minecraft” (the main theme), “Subwoofer Lullaby,” and “Wet Hands,” each adding their own unique touch to the game’s musical landscape.

Music as an Integral Part of the Gameplay Experience

Minecraft’s music goes beyond being a mere background soundtrack – it actively contributes to the overall atmosphere and mood of the game. As players navigate through different biomes, caves, and structures, the music changes dynamically, adapting to the surroundings and heightening the emotional impact of the gameplay.

For instance, in the Nether, Minecraft’s hellish dimension, the music becomes more intense and ominous, reflecting the dangerous environment. Conversely, in the peaceful Overworld, the music takes on a more serene and uplifting tone, reinforcing the sense of tranquility and wonder that players experience while exploring.

Numerous players have shared their testimonials about the emotional impact of Minecraft’s music. They describe how the music enhances their gameplay experience, evoking feelings of nostalgia, awe, and even melancholy. The subtle melodies and ambient sounds often resonate with players on a deeper level, creating a connection between the virtual world and their emotions.

Minecraft’s Influence on Musicians

Minecraft’s music has not only captivated players but has also inspired musicians outside of the game. Its unique blend of ambient, melodic compositions has sparked creativity and given rise to a vibrant community of artists who create remixes, covers, and original compositions influenced by the game.

Platforms like YouTube and Soundcloud are teeming with Minecraft-inspired music, showcasing the diverse interpretations and talents of these musicians. Some artists take the original tracks and put their own spin on them, giving them a fresh perspective, while others composed entirely new pieces that capture the essence of Minecraft’s world. This phenomenon speaks to the game’s ability to transcend its medium and inspire creativity across different artistic domains.

Minecraft’s influence in the wider music community is recognized and celebrated. Musicians and composers have acknowledged the game’s impact on their work, citing it as a source of inspiration for their own compositions. Minecraft’s music has become an influential cultural reference, showcasing the power of video game soundtracks to transcend the boundaries of gaming and resonate with a broader audience.

Connecting Players through Music

Music in Minecraft not only enhances the individual player’s experience but also fosters a sense of community and collaboration among players. Minecraft’s multiplayer aspect allows players to join together in creating and sharing music within the game itself.

Players have built elaborate structures, known as “note block songs,” using Minecraft’s in-game musical blocks. These structures produce sounds that, when arranged in a sequence, can recreate popular songs or original compositions. This unique feature has led to the creation of countless musical collaborations within the Minecraft community, with players coming together to perform and share their creations.

The act of creating and sharing music in Minecraft fosters a sense of camaraderie and collaboration. It brings players together, regardless of their geographic location or musical background, and allows them to connect through a shared love for music and the game. These musical experiences serve as a testament to the game’s ability to cultivate a vibrant and supportive community.

Finding the Best Minecraft Music Server

If you’re searching for the perfect Minecraft music server, there are numerous options available that cater to your musical gaming experience. The best Minecraft servers available offer a unique blend of gameplay and music, allowing players to immerse themselves in a world of melodies while enjoying the popular sandbox game. Whether you’re looking for a specific genre or a server that features live DJ sets, there is something for everyone.

Minecraft’s music is a fundamental component of the game’s immersive and enchanting experience. Its calming and atmospheric qualities inspire players and musicians alike, creating a lasting impact in both the gaming and music communities. Minecraft’s soundtrack not only enhances the gameplay experience but also serves as a catalyst for creativity, collaboration, and emotional connection among players.

Popular Ways That Entrepreneurs Fund Their Business Ventures

Popular Ways That Entrepreneurs Fund Their Business Ventures

  • March 28, 2024

If you are someone that has never really been involved in business, you have probably looked on from the sidelines and asked yourself, how exactly do they fund these ventures? After all, entrepreneurs are people like you and me and it seems weird that they would have this endless fund of money that they can invest into their new ideas and projects.

However, entrepreneurs are not just like you and me. They are resourceful, motivated, and dedicated to the projects that they wish to pursue. They also do not have an endless source of money, whenever they want to work on a new project, they simply raise the funds to be able to do so.

This way leaves you confused, as they always manage to find the money for their projects somehow. Something that you may be surprised to know is that there are actually a few methods that are commonly used by entrepreneurs to raise the capital for their business ventures and here are just some of them.

Friends and Family

Arguably one of the most popular ways that entrepreneurs raise money for their projects is by  reaching out  to friends and families. Though some of us are not lucky enough to have family and friends with expendable income, some of you will be in a position where asking people for financial support is an option.

There are a number of positives when it comes to reaching out to family and friends for financial support. First of all, they will not add interest like the banks. When you use a bank loan, it is not uncommon for you to have to pay back a high amount of interest, which can make paying back the loan much harder.

When you have a loan with family, it is likely that they won’t put a time limit on when you pay them back. Opening any business is hard and within your first few months, you are expected to make losses before you make any profit. When you have a bank loan, you are usually expected to start paying it back within the next month. If you have no money saved up, then paying the loan back so fast can be a bit of a problem and it will give you a lot of anxiety.

With your family and friends, it is likely that they will not expect you to pay them back until you are on your feet. You have to remember that your family and friends only want what is best for you and they won’t put any pressure on you to pay the money back.

Entrepreneurs tend to go for this option if they are able to because it allows them to focus on securing the success of their business before they have to pay anything back.

Sell Assets

As I said above, entrepreneurs are incredibly resourceful. When they have their mindset on completing a project that they are passionate about, they are willing to make some sacrifices to get to where they need to be.

Something that a lot of people will do to make money is to sell their assets. If you are someone that owns a house or a car, you have some serious assets that you can make a brilliant profit from. Your house likely cost you a few hundred thousand and your car cost you a few thousand.

If you need a bit of money to top off your funds, then I would recommend that you sell your car straight away. Selling your car is a fast and simple process and you will be able to sell your car in a number of different ways. For example, you could advertise it on social media or trade it in for cash as a local dealership.

If you have no cash at all to put into your business, then you should definitely sell your house. You can expect to make a lot of profit from selling your house and until your business becomes a success you can rent a smaller place. If you are looking for a company that will help you sell your house fast, I would recommend that you take a look at sellmyhousefast.com as they will help you sell your home incredibly fast without having to worry about going through the lengthy real estate process.

If you are worried about losing your home, you have to remember that you have to make sacrifices in order to be a success and if you really believe in your business then it will all be worthwhile.

If you are unable to reach out to your family for help, something else that you can do is reach out to your bank account for a loan.

Entrepreneurs cannot simply go to the bank and ask them to give them a loan. First of all, it is important for them to create a business plan. With this business plan, they will be able to make an estimate of any costs that they may have and what profits they expect to make.

Before a bank can give you the money that you ask for, they have to make sure that you will pay it back. Not only will they want to ensure that you can pay it back, but they will want to check where you plan on investing the money that you have borrowed from them so that they know it is going to the right place.
