We can’t wait to hear that famous falsetto one more time.

Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons just announced their farewell run of shows they’re calling ‘The Last Encores Tour.’

And yes, the 89-year-old “Sopranos” bit player will drop into New York and New Jersey a handful of times on this final 2023-24 stretch.

First, he’ll swing into Morristown, NJ’s Mayo Performing Arts Center on Friday, Oct. 13.

After that, the Jersey Boys will hit Englewood, NJ’s Bergen Performing Arts Center on Oct. 15, Red Bank, NJ’s Count Basie Center on Nov. 29 and Westbury, NY’s NYCB Theatre on Nov. 30.

Then, in 2024, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are scheduled to headline at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on March 22 and Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Cafe Hotel on June 22.

“I am eternally grateful for the love and support of our fans throughout the decades,” Valli shared in a press release. “I always loved touring and can’t wait to see the fans.”

The musical “Jersey Boys” based on the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons ran on Broadway from Nov. 2005 to Jan. 2017 making it the longest running show in the August Wilson Theatre’s history.

On May 18, 2015 Dan Rather profiled the legend for his series, The Big Interview and he also participated in the AMC series, The Making of the Mob. In 2016, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons appeared on Broadway in a limited engagement October 21 through October 29 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Legendary singer Frankie Valli has announced a massive U.S. tour beginning later in 2023 along with his backing band The Four Seasons celebrating 60-plus years in music. His Last Encores Tour kicks off October 13th in Morristown and continues into 2024 making additional stops in Las Vegas, Thousand Oaks, Tempe, Uncasville, Tampa, New York, Baltimore, Atlantic City and Rosemont.

UPDATE: Tour dates have been extended through the rest of the year and into 2025 visiting cities like Atlanta, Rosemont, Detroit, Grand Prairie, Thousand Oaks, Tampa, Columbia and Knoxville.

Frankie is best known for hits like 'My Eyes Adored You' , 'Grease' and 'Slip Away' among many others. In his career, the vocalist has 29 Top 40 hits and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 with original Four Seasons members Tommy DeVito, Nick Massi and Bob Gaudio. Frankie Valli was born Francesco Stephen Castelluccio on the 3rd of May 1934 in Newark, New Jersey, USA. As the frontman of The Four Seasons, he became, and remains to this day, one of the most iconic pop stars of all time.

Born to a working class Italian family, Valli was inspired to become a singer by his mother taking him to see Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra, at the Paramount Theatre in New York City when he was a mere seven years old. After that he was hooked, supporting himself by working in his father’s barber shop all the while working on a singing career.

In 1951 Valli landed his first professional gig with The Variety Trio (that contained two members of the future Four Seasons), who offered him a guest spot during their concerts. However, a year later the Trio split, leading Valli to start playing as a sideman for various artists on the bass guitar.

One of the groups he played in was named the Four Lovers, and after some success with them, they were whittled down to the core quartet of Valli on lead vocals, backed by Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito. With that, pop history was made.

Come the end of the fifties and the start of the sixties, they were the biggest band in the world before The Beatles came along. With hits like “Sherry”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Walk Like A Man” all hitting number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Such was Valli’s stock as a singer that he was able to have solo success while The Four Seasons were still active, something that only Buddy Holly had achieved before him. In 1967 he released his signature song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and with that, he became as big a draw as the band was. The era of “Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons” had begun.

Over the years, he's kept that unmistakeable falsetto and the kind of charisma that brings any audience he faces to their feet.

Frankie Valli has released hit after hit and has delivered thousands of memorable performances. His influence can be heard from the Beach Boys to the Smiths (frontman Morrissey is known for performing covers of Valli's work). His legacy spans generations and his music has continued to remain relevant and relatable. Even in his 80s he still manages to sing in registers you would expect only to find in a Catholic schoolboy choir. At a Frankie Valli concert as expected attention is focused on his astounding vocal skills. However his backing band should not be overlooked. It is actually near impossible to do so given their size. He has multiple keyboardists, four backing singers dressed in exquisite matching suits, skilled saxophone players, guitarists and drummers. All of the musicians are immensely talented and provide the perfect backdrop for Valli to showcase his voice and exemplary stage presence.

Hearing songs like "Sherry" and "Big Girls Don't Cry" are enough to paralyze one with the feeling of nostalgia and ecstasy. For a moment you feel as though you have entered in a time-warp back to the early 60s. And how can you not help yourself from dancing like a maniac to the ever rising energy of "Who Loves You?" Valli's live repertoire is also sprinkled with well selected covers, ranging from The Temptations' "My Girl," The Rascals' "Groovin'," and Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin." One can understand after seeing a Frankie Valli concert why he is heralded by so many musicians and has secured for himself a place in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

Whether you like his voice or not, there is absolutely no denying the absolute talent of Frankie Valli. At the height of his performing with his band The Four Seasons, they produced some of the most iconic songs that any one at any age could recognize and sing along with. While I may have been much too young to truly appreciate my parents’ taking me to see Frankie Valli, having been in the presence of true brilliance, I still have a perfect recollection of the night.

It was just after the release of the newest “Hope and Glory” album, and they had been doing some touring for promotion of the album. For most people it was a family affair, as a lot of kids like me were brought with their parents too. There was a performance that opened up for them, that I don’t remember the name of, but they kept with the style of performance similar to that of The Four Seasons. When it came time for the actual performance, the band was met with a lot of love from the audience. Despite being at a young age, us young kids sung along with the rest of the audience to every single song. Valli, having used his vocal chords so much, wasn’t quite able to hit his iconic falsetto, as we all knew him for, but made the proper adjustment keys changes. They played all the best and made the entire show one of the best that I could have shared with my family.

Yesterday was my first time seeing Frankie Valli live,it was an awesome experience. I enjoyed hearing Frankie sing in person. The best part was actually seeing Frankie face to face, I went there with my denim jacket with his picture on it and when Frankie came out I asked him if he could autograph my jacket and he did. How awesome is that, His autograph is gold to me. Unforgettable night. Seeing Frankie next month again, can't wait to see and hear my idol again. I will always carry this moment and treasure it as well. Frankie is awsome and honest. He sure loves his fans. And I will always be a loyal fan

Frankie is outstanding. He got quite emotional when we chanted WE LOVE YOU Frankie with a tear in his eyes. I have so much admiration for him. "What a Guy!! I'm in awe of him. Like all his fans. I adore him. The guy rose from poverty. What an amazing achievement and such an example to the younger generation. I thank him with all my heart for giving of himself. Off stage he is his own man aside from his talents and abilities. And I expect he will continue to be such a guy. If he wasn't we would never have known him. I am Eternally grateful for him.

It was two hours long and Frankie's voice is as strong as ever...he sang his old songs which we all know and love and he was funny and very entertaining. He included some new releases also. VERY enjoyable evening. I just wish our seats were closer so we could see his face! He is truly amazing for being 80 years old!

We had a wonderful time at the concert, it's was great seeing and reliving all the songs from yesteryear. Frankie Valli's voice was amazing, it's like he has preserved his youth. The Four seasons were great as well. Their voices was pleasing to the ears and they had the crowd singing along to every song. It was the greatest two hours that my wife and I had.

Fabulous evening at the Lunt Fontaine Theater. As has always been, Frankie was superlative and his backup singers were energetic, enthusiastic and excellent performers. Robby Robinson, of course, did an outstanding job in his direction. We are all grateful for Frankie Valli's talent and wishes to continue performing.

Frankie Valli was awesome. Sounded just like he did when I saw him 20 years ago. The Four Season back-up singers were double awesome. The crowd was going crazy, especially when he hit those high notes. We were up by the stage and my daughter shook hands with one of the singers and Frankie. I rate the show excellent +!

One of the most enjoyable concerts my husband and I have been to. Lots of different age groups, not just us old folks. He is still amazing! After seeing “ Jersey Boys,” made this concert experience even better.

Frankie valli, 90, leaves fans concerned as he struggles to lip-sync at concert — but rep says he’s ‘just fine’.

Frankie Valli ’s fans are expressing concern for the 90-year-old’s health after he appeared weak and struggled to lip-sync at a recent concert, but a rep for Valli exclusively tells The Post he’s “just fine.”

A video of the legendary singer’s difficult-to-watch performance has already been viewed more than 4.1 million times.

Taken at Valli’s August 3 gig at the Mountain Winery in the San Jose suburb of Saratoga, the video shows the singer looking frail as he fights to climb a short flight of stairs to the stage and grips a handrail as he does.  

Valli gets a warm welcome from the crowd, whom he pauses to acknowledge before finally making it to the stage.

As his set gets underway, the crooner appears to be lip-syncing to his 1978 hit “Grease,” which was also the movie’s opening credits track, but seems to struggle to mouth the words.

As the music continues, the “Can’t Keep My Eyes Off Of You” singer snaps his fingers slowly, holding a mic somewhat unsteadily while flanked by backup vocalists.

However, a rep for Valli told The Post on Tuesday: “Frankie is doing just fine and super happy to still be performing. The audiences are filling venues and listening to some great music.”

“Frankie is doing what he loves to do at 90,” the rep added. “We should all be so lucky.”

The video, which kicked everything off, was posted by Instagram user @cecchinitrucking on August 3. 

“Great show!!!! Frankie shows his age but at 90 years old he still can draw a crowd and rock the house,” they wrote. “Was definitely a #millivanilli lip sync concert but what would you expect from a 90 year old guy!!!!”

The video was subsequently posted on X and TikTok by others, kicking off a wave of concern.

“Who is doing this to Frankie Valli?” one person wrote on X . “This is hard to watch.”

Many others echoed the sentiment. “This video of a 90-year-old Frankie Valli struggling to even lip-synch to his old music is hard to watch,” another posted . “Let the man retire.”

“Frankie Valli is such a king,” a fan wrote . “We need to protect him for as long as we can. His dedication after all these years is incredible.”

Valli has faced allegations of lip-syncing for several years. 

Valli and the Four Seasons are on a farewell tour titled “The Last Encore,” which is slated to continue until April 2025. 

Valli announced the farewell tour in October 2023, saying in a press release that he is “eternally grateful for the love and support” he has received from fans “throughout the decades.”

“I always loved touring and can’t wait to see the fans,” he added.

Frankie Valli has canceled two shows due to COVID-19 days after defending his ability to perform.

“Hi everyone,” Valli, 90, said in a statement posted to Instagram Sunday. “Unfortunately I’ve got COVID like so many other folks these days. I’m tired but doing ok. Of course I won’t be able to perform tonight in Atlanta and had to miss last night in Greensboro. Sorry to all the folks who bought tickets to the shows....stay tuned....my guys will get them rescheduled as soon as possible.”

2024 North to Shore arts festival brings stars to Asbury Park, Newark, Atlantic City

The 2024 edition of the North to Shore festival will have Hart — and a whole lot more.

Shows by Kevin Hart, Frankie Valli, Stephen Colbert, Matchbox Twenty, Gary Clark Jr., the B-52s, Gabriel Iglesias, Bleachers, Jeezy, Scarface, Barenaked Ladies, Prince Royce and Wisin, Lake Street Dive and more in Asbury Park, Newark and Atlantic City will highlight the Jersey-centric festival.

Dates are June 10 to 16 in Asbury Park; June 17 to 23 in Atlantic City; and June 24 to 30 in Newark. Original Four Seasons member Valli, 89, brings his "Last Encore" tour to the Hard Rock in Atlantic City on June 22. Comedian Hart brings his "Brand New Material" tour to the Prudential Center in Newark on June 30. Ticket pre-sale begins Saturday, March 9.

“Our inaugural North to Shore Festival was the beginning of a proud, new annual tradition that brings some of the biggest stars to New Jersey to bolster our tourism industry and boost demand for our local businesses,” said Gov. Phil Murphy in a statement released prior to the festival lineup announcement Thursday, March 6, at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. “I’m thrilled to announce this year’s lineup features a number of world-renowned acts who will hit the stages in Newark, Asbury Park and Atlantic City this June. This year’s festival will be even bigger and better than ever before, and we look forward to welcoming those from near and far to experience our unique state this summer.”

Last year's festival drew 250,000 fans and generated $7.6 million in ticket sales for events in more than 100 venues in the three cities, according to organizers. Still, most events were free. The 2024 edition is supported by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.

“Last year’s inaugural North to Shore Festival proved to be a tremendous success for New Jersey’s communities, cities and economy,” said NJEDA Chief Executive Officer Tim Sullivan. “As part of Gov. Murphy’s vision to make New Jersey the best place to live, work and raise a family, this three-week festival celebrates and showcases the strength of our state’s talent and diversity in innovation and arts.”

North to Shore shows at the Stone Pony Summer Stage include Gary Clark Jr. on June 12; Band of Horses on June 13; Lake Street Drive on June 14; and Bleachers annual Shadow of the City on June 15. The Asbury Underground art and music crawl returns downtown on June 15. A Clarence Clemons Celebration with Jarod Clemons (Clarence's son) takes place June 16 at the Wonder Bar.

“It is an especially proud moment for us as the iconic Stone Pony is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024,” said Asbury Park Mayor John Moor, who was at the Pony on Thursday. “North to Shore is tapping the expected and unexpected venues in town, and will be presenting a wide variety of acts and activations. We are honored to kick off this year’s festival and look forward to seeing everyone in Asbury Park in June.”

In Atlantic City, Prince Royce and Winsin play the Jim Whelen Boardwalk Hall on June 21. The Love Hard Tour with Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, Jaheim, K. Michele is June 22 at Boardwalk Hall. The B-52s and the Weeklings play the Ocean Casino on June 22.

The big shows at Newark's Prudential Center include Matchbox 20 with Andy Grammer on June 27; Gabriel Iglesias on June 28; American jazz singer Samara Joy on June 23; and Colbert on June 29. Jeezy and Scarface play Newark Symphony Hall on June 28.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. and Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka were also at the Pony on Thursday.

Producing partners include the Montclair Film Festival and Newark International Film Festival; TechUnited:NJ, which will host the Propelify Innovation Festival that showcases tech leaders, emerging startups, and cutting edge technology; and Stockton University, which will manage a series of E-Game competitions and soccer programming in Atlantic City.

Other festival events include virtual discussions on maternal health, the arts as a catalyst to health, and food insecurity. A portion of ticket sales to select events will support Growing Healthy Pantries, a partnership between Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the FoodBank of South Jersey, Fulfill, Mercer Street Friends, Norwescap, and Feeding America — all of which address food security statewide.

The 2023 North to Shore included performances by Demi Lovato, Halsey, Santana, Colbert, Alanis Morissette, Demi Lovato, the Smithereens, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and Eric B and Rakim.

Frankie Valli Responds After Fans Voice Concerns About Singer’s Health During Performance

Ninety-year-old music legend Franki Valli left fans concerned after he appeared visibly frail and struggling to perform during an August 3rd performance near San Jose, CA, prompting a response from his team.

Valli’s performance at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga was marred by what many said was a worrisome display from the Four Seasons frontman . A clip posted to X (formerly Twitter) shows a dazed-looking Valli standing just off-stage as the crowd applauds his expected entrance. Valli stands gripping a handrail and looking towards the ground until the band begins playing his 1978 hit “Grease,” at which point he quickly enters and finds his mark on stage.

Immediately, Valli struggles to lip sync convincingly. At one point, his lips don’t appear to be moving as he again looks to his feet. One heavily edited version of the viral clip concludes with footage of a separate Valli concert from “months ago,” in which he once again struggles to lip sync.

Despite his unsteady appearance, Valli’s reps issued a statement to The New York Post assuring fans the musician is “just fine.”

“Frankie is doing just fine and super happy to still be performing,” the statement reads. “The audiences are filling venues and listening to some great music. Frankie is doing what he loves to do at 90. We should all be so lucky.”

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are currently on their farewell tour, dubbed The Last Encore, which was announced last October. The Last Encore is expected to wrap up in April 2025. When the tour was announced, Valli noted in a statement that he “always loved touring and can’t wait to see the fans” back out on the road.
