Excellent tour with Janet
If you are looking for fun, history and gastronomic experience in one package, this tour is for you! Janet is an excellent tour guide, with wonderful personality, sense of humor and deep knowledge of history. The tour is a great mixture of historic facts and curious stories, tasting delicious food and coffee, walking around the North End and chatting with other group members (turned out to be wonderful people!) - a lot of fun! Don't eat before the tour - you will need plenty of room for delicious sandwiches from Salumeria, pizza from Parziale's, prosciutto and parmesan bread from Bricco Panetteria and famous cannoli and cappuccino from Caffe Vittoria. Thank you Janet for the wonderful experience
Thank you for the great review Alex! We love to combine food and history on our tours - it's really the best way to see a city. And we agree - Janet is an awesome guide.
My tour w/Guide Janet Donovan on November 27th was amazing! Her knowledge of locations, people, dates & timelines of historical events during the early days of colonization in Boston & events leading up to the Revolution was excellent!! Highly recommend this tour!!
Thank you for taking the time to write an incredible review Elaine! Janet - like all of our guides - loves to share her knowledge and passion for Boston with all of our guests. We're glad you enjoyed the tour.
This was a great tour. Full of history and food! I highly recommend this tour and the tour guide, Janet. This is the second tour I've done with Janet-and it was even better then the first! No big surprise here-this one included Italian food :). Janet is so welcoming and warm. She makes the tour informative and interesting, but fun too. It was a cold and windy day, and Janet was thoughtful enough to adjust so that we could eat most of our yummy bites inside or in sunny spots. I would actually do this tour again!! The tour started with delicious proscuitto parmesan bread (Bricco). Next stop a cannoli and cappuccino (or hot chocolate if you desire) at the oldest cafe in Boston (Cafe Vittoria). next is a fantastic Italian store (Salameria Italiana on Richmond street) with the best products! We had a good size portion of a delicious sandwhich here. Last was Parziales for a delicious square pizza slice. Warm, cheesy, made with love. At many of these places the family that owned the establishment would actually come and speak withy us!! I was sad for the tour to end. We ended in a great part of the city near the Bell in hand tavern. Do this tour-and do it with Janet!! Also-Janet brought hand sanitizer and offered it to us. This was so great especially since it was an eating tour!!
We love return customers! Thank you for taking the time to write this awesome review.
Janet is an exceptionally fun and entertaining. She tells stories - I wouldn't believe. The tour is at a nice pace (counting 4 food stops, where you get anything from pizza to coffee with cannoli). Whether you are a history buff or a regular tourist - it's absolutely worth it.
Thanks for the thoughtful review Boris! We love to combine food and history on tours. It's the best way to see a city.
Wow, what a great tour! I have been living in Boston for 28 years and this was my first tour. I have learned so much. Janet is a wonderful tour guide, she knows the history and tells it in such an engaging way. She also has so many fun stories about Boston. Don’t wait as long as I did, sign up today 😀
Thank you for the great review! Janet - like all of our guides - loves to share her passion and knowledge of Boston with all of our guests. We're glad you enjoyed the tour.
Mary R. took me through the North End, sampling local food along the way. Mary was very knowledgeable on the history of Boston-starting off in Christopher Columbus Park and the Long Wharf. We stopped at Bricco Panetteria where we snacked on some delicious Sfogliatella lemon and ricotta stuffed pastry-a first for me. Then we stopped by Salumeria Italian and picked up an Italiano sandwich and I purchased pancetta which was enjoyed later in the week. We then went to the first Italian Cafe in Boston for a Cannoli. We ate our sandwiches in the park square by the Paul Revere house and looked around the Old North Church. Lastly, we went to Parzialles for a slice of authentic Italian pizza-by then, I was pretty full so I took the slice back to the hotel. We also went to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market and learned about the Sons of Liberty and Sam Adams checking out the Old State House and the Boston Massacre site marker. We then went up to the Old South Meeting House, which housed the British troops' horses after the Boston Tea Party. Lastly we made our way over to Granary burial ground where I later found out my daughter-in-laws relatives are buried. (Now I can proudly say I'm related to a Boston Mayflower Franklin!) This was a really "small" group tour of 2 and therefore Mary could customize the tour as we went along-spending time and providing details of areas of the most interest to me. It was a really cold day, but we were dressed for the weather and experienced a wonderful day in Boston. Grateful for Mary and her interest in history education.
There are multiple burying grounds in Boston so we are really excite to learn that you were able to find distant relatives on our tour! Mary has an incredible level of enthusiasm and loves to share her knowledge and passion for Boston with everyone. We hope to see you on another tour soon.

We did the garden tour with Betsy on a beautiful afternoon. As our guide, Betsy shared a lot of interesting stories and historical facts with us throughout the two-hour tour. We are fortunate to have her and would definitely like to recommend her tour to our friends.
Hopper was knowledgeable, engaging and funny and we learned a lot about NOLA in a short period of time! And he recommended Cafe Amelie for lunch which was a perfect choice - charming and delicious!
We had a wonderful time on the Garden District tour! Our guide, Betsy, led us on a delightful two-hour walk, and shared lots of fascinating and historical details about the area's stunning homes. Betsy's informative and humorous style made the experience both educational and incredibly enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the beautiful garden district!!
I did both the garden tour and the French Quarter stroll (two separate, two hour tours) and was fortunate enough to have Karen as my guide on both tours. When I booked my first one, they also gave you a 20% discount off the second one. This company intentionally keeps their groups smaller (my tours, respectively, had 7 and 6 people) so you can ask questions, hear, and get to know the others, if you choose. Karen was knowledgeable, funny, just saucy and salty enough, and really pulled together two very informative, entertaining and totally satisfying tours. I would highly recommend and just wish I had more time here to pick up a couple of their other ones.

Karen was a great guide through the French Quarter. We enjoyed the history, humor, added knowledge & relaxed feeling of the tour. Thanks Karen!
New Orleans Garden District Tour by Two Chicks Walking Tours was the last tour I did during my short stay in New Orleans. [Price]: The 2-hour scheduled tour was appromxately $32 (fees included) per person. [Parking]: I was able to find free street parking (St Andrew Street) 3 blocks away from the meeting spot (PJs Coffee House on 2140 Magazine Street.) The area is fairly safe and I was able to park for 3 hours without any issues. [Logistics]: I got a call from our tour guide Karen 4 hours before the scheduled time because of possible rain in the afternoon and she wanted to see if our party can reschedule to next day. I ended up calling office number [(504) 975-4386] 90 minutes later because Karen couldn't pick up (she was doing a tour.) I told the staff to continue with the 2 PM tour as our party has a same-day departure flight at 6:45 PM and won't be in New Orleans next day. Karen sent out a reminder text 2 hours before the scheduled tour time. Expect uneven pavement so wear comfortable shoes. [Tour]: Our guide Karen was accommodative as I told her about our 6:45 PM flight and the game plan was putting a full stop of the tour at 3:30 PM so that our party can beat 4 PM New Orleans traffic & get to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on-time. Luckily Karen was able to speed up the whole tour due to a small group and was able to complete the entire tour in record time - 85 minutes! Below are few of highlights for the tour: * Car accident: Funny how the tour started with a bang and apparently there was a car accident near the meeting spot. Involved vehicles were still at the intersection after we completed the tour and I like how the guide said it looked like a fender-bender when one of the cars was partially T-boned & police was nowhere to be seen. * 1331 First Street: House owned by Sharonda Anderson, the mother of Pelicans star Zion Williamson. It was originally built in 1869 and is considered one of the city's purest examples of Italianate architecture. * 1315 First Street: The Joseph Carroll House. * 1420 First Street: The home where NFL football stars Eli & Peyton Manning grew up. * 2340 Prytania Street: Thomas Toby-Westfeldt House. * 2406 Prytania Street: The honorary French Consulate - still owns by France government. * 2504 Prytania Street: Women's Opera Guild House. * 1448 Fourth Street: Colonel Short's Villa. Apparently the house was recently sold to a business owner who sold tons of fried chickens (unconfirmed - maybe I misheard the story.) * The Rink Shopping Center: Our group had a quick 5-minute restroom break. * Lafayette Cemetery No. 1: It is one of the oldest city governed cemeteries in New Orleans and the cemetery is currently closed for public tour. * 2707 Coliseum Street: Benjamin Button House from the 2009's film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." * 2627 Coliseum Street: Actress Sandra Bullock's Garden District home. Apparently Google street view blurred out the house. * 2425 Coliseum Street: Actor John Goodman's Garden District home. Our party caught a glimpse of John Goodman's back and his dog as someone drove an Audi and dropped an item off. * 1410 Jackson Avenue: Our tour ended at Buckner Mansion and was featured on American Horror Story Season 3 (more commonly referred to as "Coven".) This is the mansion where Miss Robichaux's Academy was filmed. I really appreciate Karen for finishing the tour 30 minutes earlier than the originally scheduled 2-hour tour on a cold & rainy day and our party was able to get to the airport without a hitch with smooth traffic at 3:45 PM on a weekday. Overall it was a solid and informative architectural tour!

We had a great time with Christine in the Garden District. She provided a wealth of information on the history, architecture, culture, and plant life of the area. She was eager to answer our questions and make sure everyone was enjoying the tour. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn more about the area.
This tour was very informative and great fun. Betsy was very friendly and did her research. A bit of an architectural and historical tour all together. The morning tour was perfect for avoiding the heat.
Magnificent tour of the garden district with the most knowledgeable tour guide Christine!

Thanks for selecting our Garden District tour, as a small walking tour co. every reservation helps AND every review as well.
We loved our walking tour of the Garden District with Karen! She was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and houses. She connected the history of the area to other parts of the city we had seen and people/events we might know of. She was incredibly considerate of the stroller in our group making sure to point out tricky spots in the sidewalk and leading us to walk in smoother areas. It was a bit rainy on our tour but the tour was so enjoyable that we didn't mind getting wet.
