Lady Gaga in Japan this September 2022: A Thrilling Experience

Lady Gaga is a big name in the music industry. She is also an actress and a songwriter. On April 14th, 2022,  Lady Gaga announced on her Twitter page that she had added Japan to the list of places she would be visiting for the Chromatica Ball Summer Stadium Tour. This means that Lady Gaga will finally return to Japan. The Chromatica ball is her headlining summer tour. This is a tour of her sixth studio album, Chromatica, and her third remix album, Dawn of Chromatica. Here are all the details.

Lady Gaga on tour in Japan

Lady Gaga will be in Japan for her next music tour, making it the first time she will be performing in Japan in eight years. She will perform on September 3rd and September 4th at the Belluna Dome (Seibu Dome) , a baseball stadium in Tokorozawa, Saitama, Japan. This is exciting as she will thrill the crowd with her Chromatica album, performing some of her hit songs to entertain the crowd.

Lady Gaga is known for her musical prowess, and this is no news. Recently, she sang the theme song, “Hold My Hand,” for Tom Cruise’s 2022 movie, “Top Gun: Maverick,” and the soundtrack was released on May 27th, 2022. She is not just a music icon, she’s a screen goddess.

She starred in the 2021 movie House of Gucci, where she played the lead character of Patrizia Reggiani. This movie generated a total of $156.8 million at the box office. House of Gucci generated $14.2m in three days and $21.8m in five days, a height the box office has not achieved by a drama movie after the success of “Little Women” in 2019.

Lady Gaga Enjoying Japan

Lady Gaga in Japan is not her first time as she so dearly loves Japan. In 2009, Lady Gaga visited Japan. In June 2009, she was seen trying out different Harajuku outfits, which Mezamashi TV recorded and subsequently used in the interview session they had with her. She wore a romper skirt by Angelic Pretty, a Japanese designer.

On June 9th, 2009, she performed her song “just dance” at the Music Japan, and a few days later, on June 12th, she also performed the same song on TV Asahi, Japan’s music station. Earlier, on June 8th of that same year, she did an “Ultra Premium Showcase” during her “Fame Ball Tour,” where she performed at the Shibuya-AX, a concert hall in Japan.

Again on August 7th and 8th, she continued her music tour in Osaka and Chiba. While in Osaka, she visited Frenz Frenzy Rainbow Haven Bar . Afterward, she visited Three Tides Tattoo Studio, where she got Rainer Maria Rilke’s quote on her arm. [IMAGE]

In 2010, There was another Lady Gaga in Japan appearance. She visited Japan for her “Monster Ball Tour,” where she performed at the Kobe World Kinen Hall and Yokohama hall. She visited the Ambush design store, where she purchased a ring by Ambush. She breezed into Dog store, a fashion boutique in Harajuku , Tokyo. She also visited a Hermès store in Tokyo.

Lady Gaga certainly has a thing for Japan. She keeps gracing the country with her presence. She has been actively supporting Japan, and she made a charity trip to Japan in 2011 after the March 11th earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear. She was involved in active fundraising for the victims of the earthquake. She sipped from a cup with “Prayers for Japan” in Japanese written on it, which was later put up for auction. She sold a bracelet that said, “Pray for Japan.” She donated more than 240,000 yen, including sales revenue and personal donations.

On March 11th, 2021, 10 years after the earthquake, she sent her tribute to Japan, saying, “(seeing Japanese) people’s straightforward kindness and mutual love. I have come to have respect for people in Japan. I am always praying for Japan and a better world.

I am looking forward to the day when I can return to Japan. ” She ended the message by saying “aishitemasu,” which means “I love you” in Japanese, and blowing a kiss.

During one of her stays in Japan, she appeared on a Japanese TV Asahi program, “Tetsuko no heya.” The host, Tetsuko Kuroyanagi , was surprised at her outfit: a heel of over 40cm and a hair rolled up to 50cm, totaling over 2 meters. She also surprised Tetsuko with her oval black dress that looked like Kuroyanagi’s hairstyle.

In December 2011, she visited the clothing store “TOGA XTC” managed by the clothing stores “Dog” and “TOGA” in Harajuku. It was made known that she would be at the fashion store, so many fans waited for her in advance. After shopping, she signed for her fans, talked with, and perked the clerks.

In 2012, she appeared at Tokyo Sky Tree, the world’s highest broadcasting tower, ahead of its opening on May 22nd. She was awarded a “commissioner’s prize” award for her contribution to reviving tourism in Japan after the earthquake.

Again, she showed up in Saitama for her The Born This Way Ball, her third concert tour. During her visit, she stayed at Disneyland Hotel in Tokyo. She stormed the New York Bar, a bar in Japan, and rendered an impromptu performance.

She also enjoyed the city on Japan once again and had a night out  at Roppongi and with her shoe designer Noritaka Tatehana who also doubles as her friend. Lady gaga stormed the exhibition “Noritaka Tatehana’s Aesthetics of Curse” held in Minami Aoyama by Noritaka Tatehana. She wore his shoes and they tooka picture to remember that day.

Lady Gaga in Japan: Japanophilia

It’s no news that Lady Gaga loves Japan. She has encouraged and promoted Japanese tourism and loves eating and shopping in Japan. Her constant visits to Japan and her unwavering support through the earthquake prove that Gaga is a Japanophilia, but that’s not all. She has a “love Tokyo” tattoo on her left shoulder.

What’s more? Her eye makeup for her 2011 MTV event was inspired by Japan’s manga culture. She enjoys shopping at Shibuya and Harajuku. She enjoyed eating sushi, tempura, and grilled fish from “Sushi Zanmai” in Roppongi during her stay. She also went to “Shabuzen” twice before leaving.

Gaga visited Japan for her Art pop Ball concert, which was the last time she visited Japan until her expected visit in 2022. Eight years later, she wants to grace Japan with her presence. This time around, for her Chromatica Ball Summer Stadium Tour.

The price of the ticket is as follows:

Lady Gaga and Bill Heresy

Lady Gaga in Japan this September 2022

Bill: I did take a break and go down to Yokohama Arena for Lady Gaga’s concert in Summer 2010. That was really a packed, colorful, fun spectacle. Lady Gaga is phenomenal. She’s got a great voice, can really dance, plays several instruments, and has endless energy and a wonderful warm stage presence. On top of all that, her fashion is original, off the wall, and really works for her. It’s easy to see how she’s earned international recognition and fame in such a short time.

Her concert was one of the very best I’ve seen in a long time. It’s too bad she couldn’t get to the New Lex, but we did have her entire band and dancers drop by a few times and party into the early mornings. They were all great people.

Patients at one time included Brad Pitt (just a cold), Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga, who’s rumored to have gotten a quick shot in the butt! (But you didn’t read it here!)

Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball World Tour: Full Setlist & First Images

Yaaaaaaaas, gaga.

Lady Gaga has finally kicked off the long-awaited Chromatica Ball tour to promote her latest studio album released in 2020. As expected, Gaga put together a big, high-budget production that absolutely lived up to her past iconic tours, stages, and live performances.

During this first concert in Dusseldorf, Germany, Gaga performed songs from most of her albums - from The Fame to the A Star Is Born soundtrack to Chromatica . At the moment, the Chromatica Ball has 20 scheduled shows taking place in North America, Europe, and Asia

As expected, Gaga came up with a unique concept for this new tour, dividing the setlist into five different acts as well as an encore. During each act, she put together songs that might have come from different projects but that absolutely go together thematically. Thankfully, she also brought out all of the high-charting hits and the OG songs that fans feel nostalgic about while making sure to include some of her newer releases.

Fans are responding extremely well to this all-stadium tour, which has grossed as much as $110 million in ticket sales according to Billboard . It had been a while since Gaga traveled the world with a tour following her Las Vegas residency, so expectations were quite high for her big comeback.

Awaiting Gaga, Asia sees more live music than ever

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- When Lady Gaga launches her hotly anticipated "Born This Way Ball" world tour Friday on what is expected to be an elaborate castle-like stage, fans in Asia will be the first to see it.

The singer leads off her travels with sold-out shows from South Korea to Singapore in a striking upgrade of her Asia itinerary over a previous tour that included only Japan. Western pop stars are increasingly criss-crossing the upwardly mobile region in search of new markets while financial malaise continues to afflict parts of the West — and Asian fans are ecstatic.

"We're getting so many concerts nowadays, it's hard to decide which ones to go for!" said Mindy Chew, an information technology consultant in Malaysia who snapped up $120 seats to watch Lady Gaga's show in neighboring Singapore within 30 minutes after tickets went on sale.

"Some of these shows are like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I'm expecting lots of drama at Lady Gaga's show, lots of costume changes," said Chew, who has caught performances by Gwen Stefani and Michael Buble in recent years in Malaysia's biggest city, Kuala Lumpur.

The long list of acts who've penned Asia into their tour plans this year include chart-toppers like Katy Perry, LMFAO, Maroon 5, Nicki Minaj, Jason Mraz, Avril Lavigne and Foster The People.

Next to Lady Gaga, rock band Radiohead has amassed the most buzz for its planned shows in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea this July.

But fans also are looking forward to artists as varied as Elton John, Morrissey, Christina Perri, Lifehouse, Death Cab for Cutie, Avenged Sevenfold, Backstreet Boys, The Flaming Lips and Manic Street Preachers.

For unbeatable star power, this August's two-day Summer Sonic Festival in Japan alone is supposed to feature Rihanna, Green Day, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Pitbull, Calvin Harris and Gym Class Heroes.

Japan has long been a hub for gigs by Western headliners, but touring activity has been building up in the rest of Asia over the past two years, Alan Ridgeway, president of international markets for Live Nation, the worldwide promoter for Lady Gaga's shows, told The Associated Press.

The reasons boil down to supply and demand. Asia makes economic sense now because rising disposable income among fans here has driven up demand for live entertainment across the region, Ridgeway said.

"Even though Japan may be able to support three or four shows, this often wasn't enough to justify the expense of bringing a tour to Asia," Ridgeway said. "Now as we see increasing demand from other markets such as South Korea, China and Indonesia, it becomes possible to route a financially viable multi-date tour through the region."

Last year was Live Nation's most successful in China since it began operating there in 2005, with more than 70 shows by regional and Western artists within a 12-month span, Ridgeway said.

Persistent economic troubles in the West have also propped up Asia's importance. Ridgeway said the touring business in Europe remains healthy, but other promoters believe there's been enough of a downturn there to trigger concerns.

"Some artists have found that ongoing economic problems in the United States and Europe have meant they are experiencing decreased demand for concerts, so Asia is a new market they want to develop to make up for the shortfall," said Mindy Coppin, the Singapore-based managing director for IMG Artists' Asia-Pacific operations.

As countries become accustomed to international tours, the logistics become smoother. Singapore for example has made it easier for concert organizers to secure visas and permits and lowered taxes on artists' fees, Coppin said.

Culture clashes are among the remaining challenges.

In South Korea, conservative groups complained that Lady Gaga's lyrics and costumes were too sexually provocative and authorities barred fans under the age of 18 from attending her gig at Seoul's Olympic Stadium.

Lady Gaga will also perform in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taipei, Manila and Bangkok, but a senior official in Indonesia's top Islamic authority has reportedly urged fans in that country to shun Lady Gaga, saying her show is "intended to destroy the nation's morality."

Still, that hasn't stopped more than 30,000 "Little Monsters" — as Lady Gaga's fans call themselves — from purchasing tickets for her stop in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, including 25,000 in the first two hours of sales.

The controversies haven't dampened Lady Gaga's enthusiasm either. She flew into Seoul a week before her show and has immersed herself in rehearsals, tweeting her delight about receiving a "warm and exciting welcome" and whipping up fan anticipation for a stage that her publicity sketches depict as a medieval castle. Her only complaint so far: jet lag.

Elsewhere, Grammy-winning R&B star Erykah Badu ran afoul of Malaysian officials in February; after she arrived, the government banned her show on the eve of the performance, saying a photo of her body art offended Muslims. Badu nevertheless voiced hopes of returning for a concert someday, saying she has "faith in people's ability to evolve."

Eccentric and outrageously theatrical pop songstress Lady Gaga (born Stefani Germanotta) has found international acclaim through her exuberant dance-pop anthems that have stormed the charts in several countries.

With the flamboyance of Madonna, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga has become a true pop diva of the post-millennial age, putting out countless hits and pushing the boundaries of fashion through her unique aesthetic.

Gaga initially found a love of performance through drama, pursuing musical theater in high school and at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Gaga initially signed with Def Jam in 2006, but the contract was short-lived. Nevertheless, after gaining positive attention with her act, Lady Gaga & The Starlight Revue, alongside burlesque star Lady Starlight, Gaga garnered the interest of Interscope Record and their subsidiary label Kon Live.

In 2008, her first album The Fame stormed to global success. Featuring the hit singles, "Just Dance," "LoveGame" and "Poker Face," Gaga initially found greater success in Europe, dominating club playlists. Gaga soon climbed to the top of the US charts and abroad, achieving several number one singles. With "Poker Face," she was awarded her first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.

In 2009, Gaga released The Fame Monster, an expanded reissue of her debut album. With new singles like "Bad Romance," "Alejandro," and "Telephone," a duet with Beyoncé, The Fame Monster continued to keep Gaga at the top of the charts.

In 2011, Gaga returned with new music, releasing her second album, Born This Way, featuring the top ten singles "Born This Way," "Judas," and "The Edge of Glory." Gaga promoted the album through extensive tours internationally, as well as appearing on an endless list of television programs.

Gaga followed up Born This Way in 2013 with Artpop, her third studio album, which topped international charts. Gaga's next move was an interesting change of direction: a collaborative album alongside legendary vocalist and personal friend Tony Bennett. The two released an album of jazz duets titled Cheek to Cheek in 2014.

By 2015, Lady Gaga would level up her career – and her longtime dreams – with a move into a whole new medium. Her debut as a leading lady came in her iconic performance as the vampiric hotelier of American Horror Story: Hotel. Easily carrying the fan-favorite TV show as the owner of a haunted hospitality spot in downtown Los Angeles, she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film. This out-the-gate thespian triumph would lead to much, much more.

Lady Gaga released her next album, Joanne, in 2016. The title track, an ode to her aunt, hit number one on the Billboard charts. A few months after Joanne’s October release, Gaga went on to headline the 2017 Super Bowl LI Halftime Show, famously performing with an array of drones in one of her most mesmerizing appearances to date. Two months after bringing the football world to its feet, Gaga headlined the Coachella festival, once again wowing the audience with her power and energy.

Never one to rest, 2018 would find Lady Gaga combine her prowess as a movie star and music superstar with her leading role in the remake of the classic 1937 Janet Gaynor movie A Star is Born. Not only did she deliver a rousing portrayal of a struggling songwriter, she also co-wrote each of the film’s songs with costar Bradley Cooper.

The soundtrack of A Star is Born reached number one on the Billboard charts. For her on-screen performance, Gaga earned Best Actress nominations from the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards and BAFTA Awards. On the music side, Gaga won Best Original Song from the Academy Award, Golden Globe Awards, and Critics' Choice Awards.

Mixing things up once again, Lady Gaga settled into a Las Vegas residency from 2018 to 2022. Here she played selections from the Great American Songbook as well as her own hits to sold-out-crowds performance after performance. Between performances, she still found time to record. She released her studio album Chromatica in 2020, which became her sixth number one record in a row.

At the tumultuous beginning of 2021, Lady Gaga performed on one of the most important stages of her career, belting out “The Star Spangled Banner” at President Joe Biden’s Inaugural Celebration. Later that year, she also released a second jazz collection with Tony Bennett called Love for Sale.

Gaga returned to acting, starring in the biopic House of Gucci in late 202. In early 2022, she the song “Hold My Hand” for the film Top Gun: Maverick. That same year also brought news of an upcoming starring role in the sequel to the Joaquin Phoenix supervillain film Joker, where she will star as the DC Comics’ villainess Harley Quinn, reprising the role made famous by Margot Robbie in the Suicide Squad series.

Live reviews

If Lady Gaga and her fans were a couple, they would be that couple: that loved-up pair of paramours in your life always making uncomfortable public displays of affection and loudly declaring their love – and, on occasion, screaming out from the upper reaches of an arena that "oh my God, I love your bum!". That couple who dress the same – sometimes in meat, mostly in sequins – and can't tear their googly eyes off each other, and who you just want to tell to "get a room!" When they do just that, as they did in Allphones Arena this Saturday night for the Sydney leg of Gaga's ArtRave tour, it's a big messy mutual lovefest. Gaga (Stefani Germanotta) doesn't just dedicate a song to her 'little monsters', or tell them they are "one of the most authentic fanbases of the new millennium", she pauses mid-song during Dope – "I need you more than dope" – to repeat lines that underline just how important they are to their queen. She schools them in her love. The ArtRave set was suitably elaborate. And the costumes were as fabulous as you would hope for: Gaga changed on stage at one point into a multi-coloured fluoro Harajuku number; sang Paparazzi (gorgeously) as she was strangled by what appeared to be the spawn of a Dalmatian and a giant squid; and opened the night in a golden leotard with a blue orb protruding from her chest and golden wings spreading out from her back. The tiny woman inside the outfits was a revelation: that huge voice soaring above the mess of noise in big numbers like Bad Romance and Alejandro. She was especially strong when settled at her white piano – on Dope, tears dropped from her face as she gave her arena full of fans pretty much everything, and a pared-back Born This Way gave the song the heft that its pro-LGBTQI message deserves. Were moments like Do What U Want, when Gaga sat like a queen and the bum-complimenter behind us screamed out "You are such a b---h!" and we knew it was the nicest thing you could say at such a moment. And then there was the moment of the night, when Gaga sorted through the toys and tat thrown at her feet and plucked out a letter. It was from a kid that she had encouraged to come out of the closet, despite his concern about how his parents might react. "Through your music you've helped and set free many people," he wrote, now happily out, embraced by his parents, and thankful for Gaga's help. The arena cameras honed in on him, and so did Gaga, telling her people to make sure he was backstage later. Then she firmly repeated the order – make sure he's there. Great bum, great heart, very good show.

You're not supposed to do this kind of show at Wrigley Field. Gaga did. Moving platforms, hydralic staging, dancers, fire throwers, explosives. Gagag delivered a set that began at 8:30pm until just before the alloted 11pm must-end, and filled it to the brim. Lady Gaga held court over an audience that might not have gone to Wrigley before. We've been there for Tom Petty, the Dead, Elton John, Billy Joel, Paul MacCartney, James Taylor and Jackson Browne; Gaga just became THE biggest deal there.

Gaga is iconic...and lets you damn well know it. She donned a Cubs jersey, acknowledge her role as the firsr female act to headline Wrigley and with a slew of costume changes, blew the joint apart. Rarely does any act own the whole audience; she has that live "IT" power; all the hits, some of "Joanne" and enough banter and personalizing of every number to make it worthy of recording like the Grateful Dead: it's honed to that stage, that show, that moment. It's the living difference between recorded and live art.

Some costuming got twisted up and she kept singing, dancers unfeeling her, and when her contact mike was clearly dead, she kept playing her guitar intro as a dancer moved in with a mike without missing a beat: THAT, kids, is the sign of a pro. Stellar. Superb. A little schmaltzy with some very theatrical presentation, but if schmaltz is this good, love it to death. WE don't have a Judy Garland anymore; we don't have a young Streisand who could deliver the sounds, range and furious precision of a Gaga; just GO.

Opening act of her DJ was one hour of loud, often too-profane "meh." One person near us said, "there's othing more boring than watching a DJ." True, dat.

This is the second time I have been to see Lady Gaga she is such an inspirational Artist, I went to see her perform live in Birmingham at the NIA this year,(2014) Not only is her performance top quality but her showmanship is for me the best in the business. Lady Gaga put in a lot of effort into every aspect of her live performances, she designed the set and stage layout to maximise the ordinance participation. It was a even balance of her vast catalogue of work from Just dance right through to Artpop. The minute the curtain fell I felt a tingling sensation down my spine, This was something I had been looking forward to for some time for buying the ticket on line to the show its self. You maybe sitting there woundeering why I called her an inspirational artist? This is for two reasons the first is the artist bit Lady Gaga describes her self as an artist the inspirational bit is the fact that she has not only produced one of the most inspiring songs of all time Born this way but on the night of the show a young fan threw a note on stage, now Gaga could have simply given that note to someone and read it after the show, but she didn't, after reading part of the note to her self she realised how important she had been to helping the fan get through a difficult time for them and so not only did she read the note out loud but had the fan come on stage to help her sing one of her songs, yes, you guessed it Born this way and if one person can change, inspire and improve the life of others through her music then that someone is lady Gaga and that is why I get such a thrill seeing her live.

It isn’t a lie when someone walks over to you and tells you that Gaga is amazing live, honestly it was such a good show! She provided us little monsters with a mix of older hits from previous albums (The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way & Artpop) such as Applause, Alejandro, Bloody Mary (that was a real crowd pleaser!) and of course you can’t forget about Just Dance, Paparazzi, Poker Face and Bad Romance!

As well as having a great variety on her setlist, she also ensured that the choreography was level with the setlist, giving us the most energetic and fun dance routines in which made us all want to dance too! P.S. her dance crew are just so talented, let’s just appreciate that for a few minutes!

And to round this review up, her stage layout was made with little monsters in mind, Gaga made sure that she could get around the whole arena to be near all her fans, which shows just how loving she is towards us! (If you don’t know what the stage layout is like, here’s a short description:

“The full layout consisted of a very dynamic and kinetic main stage, three flying bridge platforms which double as projection displays, two satellite stages and an LED integrated b-stage.” - TAIT (the builders of the stage/s)

Although we expect big from Gaga, I don’t think anyone expected this BIG! She really blew us away, and all the time and effort that has gone into this your has truely been worth it, with the majority of her concerts selling out! (Cannot give specifics as her Tour has not finished yet).

I attended Lady Gaga's concert in Birmingham on the 15th of October, I was a holder of a VIP Artpop Zone meet and greet ticket. The experience during the concert was amazing, she sang in front of us most of the time, unfortunately backstage I was expecting a little bit more, yes she was with us more than an hour talking, but we were a large group of 20 people and there were 2 particular people at ours who acted as if no one else had paid for it. They should have just gone around the room and asked everyone individually for a question. On several times I tried to draw the conversation back to our side of the room, as they seemed to have created the whole meet centred around a particular area. Gaga is too polite, but I could tell she wanted someone else to speak because she kept looking at other people and saying 'has anyone else got any questions?. All in all, my experience was great but I was expecting more backstage, I had a VERY RUSHED picture taken and then BYE. Perhaps is not Gaga's fault but it is annoying that her team had rushed things. I love this woman with every fiber of my being, and I paid four months' rent for this. I have mixed feelings. Not having a minute to talk to Gaga in private for the amount of money we paid put me a little down as well. When the photo was sent to my e-mail I felt a little bit better though. I did it because it was my dream to meet her, but I've learned my lesson and will not spend the amount of money I did again. It's is for sure one of the my best experiences ever!

I had one of the most amazing experiences going to a Lady Gaga show a while back. It was a bit like going to a Broadway show, a Circus, a dance club and a crazy Rave! The combination of all of these different occasions was something I had never felt at a concert before. Seeing 'Mother Monster' live was more of an experience than just a musical concert.

I believe the Little Monsters (that's what she calls her fans) are such a unique crowd, with people from all walks of life, all ages, and all lifestyles. It was a people-watching extravaganza!! And then the show itself, my goodness, so many things happening, so many stage props, so many dancers, and oh how amazing the dancing was. Mesmerizing and picturesque. And then on top of all that throw in the insane costumes and the stage props, along with a light show that complimented every aspect. Truly a piece of art in a way. As I say, it just seems so much more than just a concert experience, it feels like a combination of so many things.

The only time I have felt close to this, was way back at a Madonna concert when she was really in her prime and she was putting on performances of this level. It felt so good to see a performer attempting to entertain again, and entertain in a fantastic way. People may say what they want about Lady Gaga, and she does a lot of things to attract those thoughts, but putting all that aside, she is one hell of a performer and a show that I will gladly attend over and over!

I am speechless. As a die hard Gaga fan, I was completely excited for the concert- especially when I was queing. I qued for around 10 hours and it was honestly worth it. The music was expectedly all live- Gaga performed a lot of ARTPOP songs such as Venus,Swine, and Mary Jane Holland as well as her well known hits. Her vocals were flawless- she even expressed her love by adding a Whitney Houston "I will always love you" ending to one of her songs. That alone was amazing. The show itself was insane- there was constant confetti and strobe lights pulsating the arena; let us not forget the amazing dancers fleeting the stage too. Gaga also took moments between songs to preach about equality, her feelings and general speeches of empowerment. A noticable element of the show was when she picked up and read a young boy's letter of his struggled- she then got him and his boyfriend on stage to dedicate born this way to them. They sat either side of her on the piano, it was heartwarming. Personally, I think if people ignorant to Gaga's importance and talent were to attend artRAVE they woulf instantly be turned- it was that great. It was unforgettable and probably will never be topped.

Well, to start, unless you just want to visit and hang out with other fans, I suggest you don't arrive early. You probably won't even make it through the line by 7:30 at the scheduled start time of show. But don't worry, the show won't start until 9:15pm (an hour and 45 minutes late) and there is no opening act. If you read the latest reports, this is what Gaga has been doing at her shows (it's all planned). Just when we were getting fed up waiting, Lady Gaga hit the stage. Her concert was amazing. It was colorful and exciting with the use of many high tech effects. The women has got talent! She brings with her a dozen energetic backup dancers. Her voice, her voice ......unbelievable! If you happen to have to have a seat rather far from the stage, no worry. She makes every seat in the house a good one as she drops small bridges from pods high in near the ceiling and connects the stage to designated raised circles on the floor all the way back to a smaller stage at the opposite end of the venue. She and her dancers move about with each song and manage to personally engage each fan in their seats with an up close entertainment opportunity. Worth the wait!

Awesome show from start to finish. We saw her Enigma show in Las Vegas. Great set design and graphics. She performed her ass off as well as her backups. The Park Theater had great seat layout and perfect sound. My ears were not ringing afterwards.

A little more then midway in show Lady Gaga slows it down a bit to do “Million Reasons” and opened up a letter thrown on stage to read. It was from a younger woman from Chile who has been a strong fan from the start and feels her life saved by listening to and admiring Lady Gaga. She worked extra for over a year to afford getting to Vegas to see her and waited to get in front row.

She was invited on stage to sit with Lady Gaga while performing the song and was told she’d be reimbursed for her costs getting there. Totally awesome and tested up many in the crowd. Lady Gaga also tested up crowd again at the end and about how much she survives off her fans and the love all around and then sang her newer song “Shallow”.

If you can go, I highly recommend!!

She stated her residency is extended to 2 years so far!

Songray’s profile image

from the time the huge clock started the 10 min countdown that would end with the playing of 'diamond heart' through to the 'million reasons' finale which saw Lady Gaga disappear into the floor leaving only her hat on the piano seat well over 2 hrs later the crowd was in in an uproar .

I've witnessed literally hundreds of artists overthe years and this show is inside my top 10 all time .

The vocals , the stage(s) the light show everything was top notch .

She started strong with diamond heart, A-yo and poker face which really got the crowd up on their feet waving their hands in the air and the most touching moment would have to be when she explained exactly who joanne was and their unique connection and then she finished by whipping the crowd into a frenzy with bad romance, the cure and million reasons .

I had made a10 hr drive to see her only to find out the show was cancelled earlier this yr, I decided to make the trrip again for the re-scheduled show and I'm so glad I did !

If Lady Gaga is playing anywhere near you , get tix !! You will not be disappointed !

Lady Gaga’s Chromatica Ball Brings the Spectacle to Dodger Stadium but Really Soars With Solo Segment: Concert Review

Freddie Freeman was hitting homers down in San Diego, so it was up to visiting superstar Lady Gaga to keep the on-base percentage exceptionally high Saturday night at Dodger Stadium, site of one of the last stops on her “Chromatica Ball” outing. Surprises were few, this many weeks into a mega-tour whose production values were already known among the legions of Little Monsters who’d long since put curious paws to Googling Gaga’s setlists and setpieces.

Popular on Variety

Once those three introductory hits were out of the way and Gaga regained full control of her life and limbs for the next hour and 45 minutes, title cards periodically appeared on screen, establishing “Act I” through “Act V” and subsequent finales and denouements. Unlike her long-running “Enigma” show in Las Vegas, this tour has none of those scripted, philosophical monologues, so it’s not easy to suss whether there’s a real narrative arc at play in her mind or whether the ”act” business just provides cover for costume changes. There was undeniably an element of the momentum going into stall mode every time Gaga disappeared from sight for four or five minutes. But, as costuming spectacle goes, you’d be hard-pressed to argue it wasn’t worth the lull when the singer would suddenly reappeared in a bodysuit made out of what looked like innards-revealing, torso-hugging plexiglas, or better still, all masked up as a lovely, if intimidating, purple mantis.

She and her dozen or so dancers worked hard for the money for the first two-thirds of the show, working up enough monsoonal moisture to breathe sweaty life into “Chromatica” album tracks that might’ve slipped a fan’s mind, like the very pandemic-premonitory-feeling “911.” The set warmed up, eventually, after being established in the show’s beginnings with a monochromatic feel Gaga herself has said was inspired by architectual brutalism. (Gaga could sound a little Germanic herself in the early going as she repeatedly commanded the audience to “get your fucking hands in the air,” with a commandeering scowl and harsh make-up that was its own kind of brutal.)

But then, past the halfway point, the crowd of 52,000 saw that platform at second base pay off with an extended solo segment that gave the audience the unmitigated, uninterrupted Gaga that would form a solid basis for a fine one-woman stadium show, should she ever want to attempt that ballsy a gambit. Sitting at a piano that had been formulated to appear as something growing organically out of gnarly forest limbs and trunks, the queen of poker faces smiled for the first time all evening (not counting a sinister giggle earlier) and turned Dodger Stadium into an enchanted pop forest with a clinching series of solo ballads and, yes, motivational speeches.

For some of us, no show Gaga ever does will outdo her “Jazz and Piano” residency in Vegas, where she was more parts Rosemary Clooney than Grace Jones. But, of course, you’re not getting the full Gaga if you’re getting her in Irving Berlin mode. And in this show, the affected but still affecting intimacy of the solo segment made for a dynamic setup to a final stretch back on the main stage that made her dance-teria mode seem like her best mode after all.

Coming after a quieter, more thoughtful segment, “Stupid Love,” an up-tempo track that seemed kind of underwhelming when it was introduced as “Chromatica’s” first single two and a half years ago, suddenly weirdly felt like a visceral kick in the pants. And “Rain on Me,” too, finally felt as cathartic as Gaga meant it to. (After the crowd had just narrowly dodged an unseasonable L.A. precipitation bullet, it’s a good thing being an actual rainmaker is not among Gaga’s talents.)

The most interesting superstars are the ones that walk fine lines, and Gaga certainly continues to do that. After “Joanne,” and especially after the world discovered — via “A Star Is Born” — that she’s conventionally pretty, she could have further played the authenticity card for all it’s worth. But in the spirit of those “Keep Austin weird” bumper stickers Texans used to brandish, Gaga has determined to keep herself weird — or just weird enough to provide necessarily ballast to her more earnest inclinations. It’s clear, by the end of a show, that she just wants to give the disenfranchised world a hug. But with costuming that include jagged shoulder cones, it’s not clear how that’s going to happen without blood involved.
