In a few moments, you'll go into the elegant dining room where you'll enjoy a sumptuous dinner paired with the perfect wine . . .

Odyssey cruises give you this special luxury experience right in Boston Harbor.

Even if you have only a couple of hours to spare, you can enjoy the pleasure of a memorable dinner cruise complete with live music, dancing, and magical views of the city skyline and the Harbor Islands.

Why You'll Love an Odyssey Cruise

~ Sophie and Jean-Luc, visitors from France

View from observation deck of Odyssey cruise ship leaving Boston Harbor

Not only do you get an outstanding 2- or 3-hour Boston Harbor sightseeing tour, but you'll also enjoy an excellent dinner - all for about the same price you'd pay for a meal in a nice restaurant.

It's a sweet deal - you're basically getting the cruise for free.

Like her sister ship Spirit of Boston , Odyssey offers a variety of evening cruises, as well as brunch or lunch cruises on most days.

Because all dining areas are enclosed and climate-controlled, Odyssey (and Spirit of Boston ) operates year-round, summer and winter.

Around major holidays such as Valentine's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year, look for festive holiday cruises, as well as special occasion and theme cruises at other times of the year.

Odyssey's Boston Harbor Tour Route

Photo of View from Odyssey

Although Odyssey's exact route will vary based on the length of the tour as well as Harbor traffic conditions, you'll typically cruise along the Boston shoreline  past the North End, Charlestown, the South Boston Waterfront and Castle Island.

At this point, you'll begin to notice individual islands.  You'll typically pass by Georges Island and Little Brewster Island, home to Boston Light, one of the country's oldest lighthouses.

In my ten years planning this event, City Experiences was not only the most seamless on the planning side - but the quality of the event was off the charts! I have never gotten so much positive feedback from my team on a holiday party. The food was fantastic and the service was perfection. Cannot recommend booking with them highly enough! • Isabel089 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Comfortable, elegant and delicious cruise We were a family group of six and went on a Sunday afternoon with clear crisp autumn weather. We all really enjoyed our time. The spacious dining room was elegantly laid out with white tablecloths and attractive table settings; our server was friendly and efficient; the plentiful buffet offerings - which included both brunch and luncheon dishes - were delicious, as were the cocktails and mocktails. After our meal, we went to the outdoor decks and had wonderful views as we cruised around the harbor. It was an excellent treat, especially for two of our group who were visiting Boston from overseas. Yes, it was expensive - but for a special occasion with special people, it felt just right. Boat left on time, crew was attentive and friendly, food was nice, good drinks selection. We were lucky with good weather and spent the whole time on the upper deck outside. • HighSpeedLowDrag 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Not bad but know what you're getting. The "starting at" price is artificially low as those are oddball dates vs the dates you're actually looking at so pay attention to that. Popular nights are likely 2x as much $. Food was OK, but not commiserate to what you'd expect you're paying for. The desert was completely different than advertised, and the fruit offered tasted like it was starting to ferment. The cruise basically just goes back and forth in the harbor, so it's basically the same thing for a few hours. That's alright, just not what we were expecting. For $200/head, we expected more/better. The music was pretty loud, which is fine, but more of a club vibe vs intimate or able to carry on a conversation. Read more Written 5 August 2023
  • hlsl1019 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles overall good I booked a lunch cruise on the boston elite for my wedding reception. the cruise itself - the captain , the staff - was absolutely amazing! The restaurant manager kiana (i think that was her name) was truly a gift as well as the server and bartender. The day went off perfectly. As for the coordination before … it was not as great. I had to reach out a month in advance to pay the bill and go over the details on my own. I was told the event coordinator would reach out 8 weeks in advance. Upon reaching out i was scheduled to talk to an event coordinator and we went through everything and i felt great about it! Until my questions and the promised email attachments were not sent or answered for 2/2.5 weeks. The week of my wedding reception i still had not gotten an answer. I had to email the senior coordinator who did what he could to help and after multiple attempts my assigned coordinator finally reached out. She did everything i asked at the last possible moment. I also was under the impression an event coordinator would be there as well.. no one showed up. So if you’re planning on doing any type of party here - just make sure you’re working with someone who answers (: Read more Written 31 July 2023
  • Trail664786 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Way overpriced with lousy, cheap food. 2 stars for the Boston skyline. First of all, Trip Advisor needs to stop hijacking people when they are trying to go to Boston Signature Dinner Cruise website. Since I could not get to them without going through your website, I thought this must be how to make the reservation. I was wrong. Because it took so long to confirm, I located the number and called the company. They said I should have just called because I paid "a lot more" than it would have been through them. This trip cost us over $350.00 for 2 people. For that price, they should have been serving prime rib. Instead there was what I presume was supposed to be Mexican: corn, black beans, chicken thighs, pork, & under-cooked salmon (according to my husband since I hate seafood). It was atrocious, The music was directed at only one group celebrating a birthday, so everyone else went up top. That was the only part of the evening we enjoyed. This was our 5th Anniversary and I wanted something elegant and romantic. This was neither. Wish we had gone to Red Sox game for hot dogs and a beer. So if you want to know how to improve, don’t charge more than the company you are booking for. The rest is on them. No photo because we were so disappointed that we didn't take any and people kept asking if we had fun. Read more Written 30 July 2023

My wife and another couple are going tonight. I was gonna wear a suit. Is that over dressed?

Hi Andrew! Odyssey can be your opportunity to dress up! For men, collared shirts and dress pants are recommended. Dressy jeans are acceptable. I have seen many men in suits and they look fantastic! We do discourage Casual attire. Enjoy yoir cruise!

My wife and I took the Odyssey's Thanksgiving lunch cruise to do something different this holiday. Overall, it was a great trip and well worth it. For starters, I upgraded my experience and paid for priority boarding and a window seat. It would have been ideal for them to have a priority boarding section. Instead I walked to the front of the line and ask the staff member how I should board and he said to just wait there. It felt a bit weird making it look as if I was simply cutting in front of everyone else who had been waiting in the cold for a long time. But honestly, I didn't feel too bad because, heck, they could have paid for the privilege too! Once onboard, the yacht was nicely decorated and having the window seat was worth it for the views. They put tables a bit too closely together for my liking, but it didn't make a major negative to the overall experience: The crew were all very nice and the service was pretty good. The drinks were delicious, from the after hour coffee and whiskey beverages to their spin on the old fashioned (added kola sugar and rum for a Caribbean themed variation). The crab and shrimp dip I ordered was also fantastic and I wished they provided extra bread or perhaps some chips to go with all the leftover dip in the bowl. I got champagne too as a part of a romance package, and that too was very nice. As for the thanksgiving buffet? Meh. The stuffing was bad, the macaroni and cheese was okay, the turkey was fairly good albeit a tad dry, and the salmon was solid. And when you were finished with the mediocre-at-best meal, there was time to take in some line dancing with the live DJ. Overall I really enjoyed it and will take another cruise with them some day. I just will temper my expectations relative to the meal!

Went for a birthday celebration. We had a couple of young kids with food allergies. Had filled out forms and communicated 3 times before the dinner cruise with Odyssey and no one had a clue regarding food allergies after we boarded. When I talked to our server about it, his eyes just glazed over. Didn't even understand the difference of vegetarian vs vegan. Ended up just giving us plain food since nothing was planned ahead. For the ticket price of plated dinner, you would think they would try a bit harder. Enjoyed the dance floor. Clam chower was well done. Dessert was put out for grabs but no notice on that or when they cleared all the food. Overall I am very disappointed for such lack of service. If they can't properly accommodate for allergies then their suggestion should have been we can't accommodate and come at your own risk. Instead they pretended to care and accommodate but the harsh reality was that they didn't care but wanted to make a sale. I dont normally write reviews like this but was utterly disappointed.

I had an amazing time on this cruise! The dinner buffet was delicious with lots of options, I was pleasantly surprised by how much food there actually was. The boat ride itself was steady (not too much swooshing to trigger sea sickness) and the view was gorgeous. The staff and bartenders were so nice and fun, and I liked how they joked around. Next time I go I'm going to bring my bf for a cute date night!

Buffet

We did the Boston: Harbor Sunset Yacht Cruise and it was a lot of fun! City views were gorgeous and even though we couldn't see the sunset through the clouds it was still very enjoyable. It did seem like whoever was playing music may have been going through a break up though. Playing music like "All By Myself" and "Sad Eyes".

Went on an Odyssey cruise with a party of 6 people last night celebrating a special occasion . The waitress was nice and pleasant but the dinner service itself was mistimed . They brought out dinner rolls after the meal was done . The meal itself steak was average , nothing remarkable about the food . The views are nice and there are a lot of great picture moments . They ask for song recommendations for music and we provided some , but our cruise had two bachelorette parties and the music was 2-3 hours of loud Latin Rap music with little variety from the DJ . To top it off there was a woman who was clearly over served who was passed out and had to be wheeled out by staff in a wheelchair. I wouldn't recommend based on our cruise, if you're trying to celebrate a special occasion .

If I could give them a minus star or no start at all then I would do it. I have to mention that I have taken the Spirit Cruise, and the Odyssey before when the owner was different and that was a different level of service. The new owner has hired people from the street with no training at all. We took the Mother's Day cruise and my husband paid $650.00 usd and this was not cheap at all. If it were $20.00 per person well... you would let it pass but no. I think you can't charge a family that amount of money to get this: 1)DJ's - Please get new people. They are boring and they don't know how to select music. 2)Food - You cannot charge a family $650 usd to tell them that you ran out of items for dinner and there isn't beef, no desserts Who on earth told you guys that you put fish on top of corn? This is not a Mexican dish. You can't offer just dry fish over corn and and chicken with apricot marmalade on it. The desserts are also like .. brownies. are you kidding me ... the scout girls do better cookies. For the money I think that if you buy the cakes from chinatown they wold be unexpensive and it would be meeting the expectations. 3) Server. - My server was a woman with short hair and glasses, and she came with bread and she was looking at me with rolling eyes because I asked for 2 pieces of bread. OMG.... I think you need training.

The ship I was on was the Odyssey Dirty plates! Went for a lunch cruise event with my school and the thing that ruined it was the dirty plates. I picked up a plate for the buffet and it was dirty, when I picked up a plate for desert it was dirty. The dj was mid. The remixes they were playing got rid of the drops a lot. It was bummer. The Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were good and so were the brownies. The views of Boston were cool too.

A friend and I bought a sunset cruise ticket via Goldstar and it was absolutely STUNNING. 11/10 would recommend. I love sunsets, Boston, the seaport/water in general, good photo opportunities, great weather and a summer night is perfect for this. I recommend going when it's not crazy hot out like 90 degrees haha but being near the water is lovely b/c you can feel the breeze and it's slightly cooler. The sunset part is stunning, you get the best views from the cruise and a lot of photo opportunities. My friend and I were so excited for this haha we got tons of great photos out. FYI there is an open bar on board (cash only) if you're interested.

Thanksgiving on the Boston Odyssey. Had a wonderful time. Great way to spend the holiday. Buffet was wonderful with plenty of options and found the food quite tasty. Loved the dessert area and free warm apple cider. Service was great. Hint, no need to pay for upgrades. Boarded quickly (2nd) and got assigned window seat for no extra $$. Beautiful day and would definitely do it again.

Photo of Matthew M.

Do not waste your time or money on this shitshow. Their website says that Wednesday tours on Odyssey are three hours with an extended menu. We paid extra for the beef option on a three hour tour. We get there, and it's two hours, and a me u so condensed, I can't eat anything on it. Then they tell me they have steak. Later, after I already paid an upcharge, they charge me extra again for the steak. Add to this that twice while clearing the table, food was taken away while I was still eating it, and consequently got dumped in my lap. No one apologized or made it right. This place sucks, the food is subpar, and the service is horrendous. Simple don't go. You'll have more fun at a bar than you will to float up the harbor, turn around and come back. I will tell everyone to avoid this shit like it's the plague. Seriously, refunding me ALL of my money wouldn't even start to make things right.

Odyssey Boston Cruise

If you're thinking of trying something different for that special occasion, then it's a good idea to look into a Boston Harbor Odyssey cruise. Whether it's a big event for your company, your anniversary, birthday, or any kind of celebration that calls for something out of the ordinary, then a fancy dinner on a three hour cruise might suit you.

With a capacity of 150 people, the Odyssey has multiple decks—an indoor lower deck for dancing and dining, a middle deck with a small dining room, a half-open deck with a covered bar, and an upper deck which is fully open with benches, tables, and chairs. The upper deck is usually the highlight of a cruise, as one gets to enjoy the scenic view of the Boston skyline which is especially magnificent at sundown. For entertainment, there is a live band usually playing jazz on one of the decks, and a DJ playing ordinary, but romantic songs normally heard at weddings. Depending on your package, you can get either multiple course meals or a buffet style set up. The ship is also available for huge events where you can book the entire ship for your group. This is a great option for corporate or other organizational celebrations.

According to online reviews, the cruise typically meets one's expectations of what a high-end harbor journey would be like—fancy meals, formally dressed people, a romantic atmosphere, and luxurious ambience. However, there are some exceptions with the Odyssey. Mostly, it’s good to come into the cruise well-informed and not to one's expectations too high.

Firstly, while the dining rooms are fancy and the food is set up on your plate luxuriously, the food has generally not been rated 5-stars. If you came out to have an exquisite dining experience, this is not the venue to go to. The food has been rated hit-or-miss, with some dishes being really great and others feeling like the result of a culinary freshman's failed attempt at a contest piece. Still, the overall dining experience is great, given the cruise setting and the ambience. Secondly, the attire—while the website states to come in a formal attire, such as a jacket for men and a cocktail dress for women, the crew officials are not strict about this. This means people wearing shorts and a baseball cap may be near you or dining with you in the same room. This sort of downgrades the overall "luxury cruise" experience that is being sold as part of the package. Another minor thing worth mentioning is the passage of the cruise underneath the path of airplanes getting reading to land at Logan Airport—loud, momentary, aircraft engines on the open deck that can sometimes ruin a great romantic moment.

The service has been described as great—the members of the wait staff are very helpful and efficient, with about one available for every three guests. The staff has a way of making sure that your every need is covered, without being there with you too much to invade your privacy. They are very knowledgeable of the different attractions that the cruise passes by. One online review stated that the cruise has "2.5-star food, with a 5-star view and service."

The cruise passes through the Historic Boston Harbor, from Castle Island to George’s Island , then east to the Boston Light on Little Brewster Island, and back north to Charlestown Naval Yard before returning to Rowe's Wharf . The route gives the passengers an unrivaled scenic view of the South Station Tower, John Hancock Tower , Federal Reserve Bank Building, Prudential Tower , One Boston Place and many more.

All in all, the Odyssey cruise is a great experience if you have the budget for it. Expect to enjoy the company of your loved ones in a pleasantly unusual experience—being out in the sea, seeing Boston from a different perspective, with romantic music, great service, and average food.
