The West Coast Explorer - Rabbie's Small Group Tours

Two ladies sit on a grass verge on the coast looking across at cliffs in the distance

The West Coast Explorer Tour is a compact three day tour introducing some of Ireland’s highlights and tucked away treasures. Passengers visit some of the country’s many wonders, such as the Cliffs of Moher and Galway City.

Venture to some of Ireland's famous beauty spots over the three days including the Burren, a region of environmental and archaeological interest. Visit the Cliffs of Moher which soar 214 metres above the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The accompanying guide will supply visitors with all the background information they need.

After enjoying the sights of Galway Bay, explore Galway City with its variety of food and traditional pubs. Travel on to Kylemore Abbey, a neo gothic building steeped in history, and Connemara National Park. Take in the vistas and witness abundant wildlife within the park, from the towering peaks of the Twelve Bens to the panoramic Sky Road. On the return journey to Dublin, visit Clonmacnoise, a 1,500 year old abbey associated with Ireland’s golden age of learning. Finally, stop in Kilbeggan Distillery, reputed to be the oldest licensed distillery on Earth, it offers something for both history buffs and beverage connoisseurs.

Rabbie's West Coast Explorer - 3 day tour Review  (13 - 15 SEP 2019) (and Rabbie's Boyne Valley (16 Sep2019) For starters we were visiting Ireland for the first time and normally we do not do tours.  This being said since we were a blank sheet of paper of what makes Ireland special we opted to do the Rabbis West Coast explorer tour.  We were more that smitten with the experience.  Our tour guide Shamus was a unending resource of inspiring Irish narrative on not only the sites we were taking in, but on all things engaging about the Irish culture and well Ireland itself.  We discovered the most spectacular sites from Fiords, to Ruins and landscape vistas that took your breath away.  Not only did we enjoy the The Burren, The Cliffs of Moher - evenings in Galway City, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park,  Clonmacnoise - and a Distillery tour, Shamus through in many other places that were never listed on the tour guide! All this was done with such ease and laid back style by our amazing tour guide and never rushing us to "...be back on the bus by..." edicts!  If you like me have a wonderment about history, ruins, spirituality great food choices or just plain every day life, this is the tour for you!    You can't beat the priced and will not ever regret it! We will be back to Ireland because of Rabbies and when we get back to Scotland will check them out there as well.

We've done a few tours with Rabbie's and have never been disappointed! Most recently we did the 5 day Northern Ireland tour with Dave Brown. We couldn't have had a better guide and the itenary included everything I wanted to see. The small group tour was a plus too. Our other experiences 3 years ago were a tour to the Lake District from London and other tours based out of London

If I could possibly give Rabbie's an infinite number of stars, I would! If you are reading this and considering a trip with a bus tour, I'm telling you, look no further. And in the event that England were to take back control of Ireland, it should be for one reason alone: the knighting of our guide, Sir Patrick Foley... My wife and I had recently taken the five-day Escape to the West tour leaving from Dublin as part of our honeymoon. We had never been on any type of guided, multi-day bus tour, and I had no idea what to expect, as well as a personal desire to not have our honeymoon be on what could be deemed a 'forced march.' It was anything but, and every single aspect of the tour was made as accommodating, and as worry-free as could potentially be. Patrick represented the company with esteem and grace, a man that the Blarney Stone itself should get up and kiss to raise its own eloquence, with a heart that would make the Skellig Islands jealous. The tour itself was set up to near perfection, with plenty of stops for drinks, food, bathroom breaks, and of course, beautiful, unforgettable Irish sights...all with an absolute astounding amount of information and history from Patrick. But of all the sights seen and things done, I think the one thing I didn't expect or know I needed to take back to the states was what Patrick brought to the proverbial pub table...an Irish spirit that made me remember I needed to go home and take more pride in the places and people around me, have a larger sense of community, a bigger presence around my family, laugh more often and laugh at myself, and sing without care (his voice is much better than he lets on, and I have video to prove it). Thank you Rabbies, I have no doubt all of your tours are as wonderful, and I intend to do it again. And thank you to Patrick, who I intend to make my own part of the world better for.

Our five-day tour of Ireland's Southwest was the highlight of our trip to Ireland and Scotland. Our guide and driver, Liam was excellent and incredibly knowledgable about everything Ireland. He also did an outstanding job responding to everyone's requests and making sure the needs of the entire group were taken into account at each decision point. Southwest Ireland was gorgeous and we particularly appreciated Liam introducing us to some of the local people. A great, truly memorable experience.

I had a great time in Ireland with many thanks to my tour guide Patrick. Since I am almost 70 years old, I have trouble walking. He made sure that I did not trip or fall and his concern was genuine. He was humorous and had a fine singing voice. There was never a dull moment. There were 4 of us sisters, varying in age from 65 to 74. We all agreed that Patrick was the most sincere and helpful person we had ever met. He gave us plenty of restroom breaks, was punctual, and always parked closest to our destination. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the landmarks. Everything he did catered to the comfort of his riders. He was a safe driver too. We will recommend him to all our friends. Our vacation would not be complete without him. He definitely deserves a raise.
