Gellu Srinivas Yadav appointed TSTDC chairman

HYDERABAD: Gellu Srinivas Yadav was on Tuesday appointed the new chairman of the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Limited by the State government for a period of two years.Srinivas Yadav would be taking over the position from Uppala Srinivas Gupta.Following Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s instructions, Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari issued the order to this effect.

A native of Himmatnagar village, Veenavanka mandal of Karimnagar district, Srinivas Yadav actively worked as the president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi student’s wing. His father Gellu Mallaiah was former MPTC of Kondapaka and his mother Lakshmi a former sarpanch of Himmatnagar. He completed his Masters in LLB from Osmania University.

Telangana Tourism Corporation to bring new packages in coordination with other States

Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation chairman Uppala Srinivas Gupta on Wednesday said it will bring tour-packages with flights, in coordination with other State governments.

Hyderabad : Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation chairman Uppala Srinivas Gupta on Wednesday said it will bring tour-packages with flights, in coordination with other State governments.

He held a review meeting at Telangana Tourism corporate office on tour packages, operations and enhancements with the transport operations team and marketing team.

The meeting discussed new tour packages in collaboration with other State government tourism bodies. The meeting focussed on aggressive marketing of packages and promotions of news ones.

Gupta stressed on the need to focus on Covid protocols at all TSTDC facilities and encouraging comfortable stay and safe travel for tourists. The TSTDC started operating tour packages across the State.

It plans to launch new packages exclusively for UNESCO site Ramappa temple, undivided Warangal district soon and also introduce flight packages to other State tourist destinations with tie-ups with governments.

The meeting was attended by GM (transport) T Ibrahim, manager Rajalingam, in-charge CRM Mallikarjuna Raju, Jyothi, Rachana and staff.

Telangana: TSRTC, TSTDC collaborate to strengthen tourism

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) on Friday called for strengthening tourism in the state.

The authorities sought input from stakeholders to strengthen their services for the tourists. The emphasis of the meeting was laid on leveraging the advantages of the vast fleet, strength and cutting edge infrastructure.

TSRTC officials said that they were well poised to play a key role in tourism promotion.  

Addressing the meeting, TSRTC Managing Director, VC Sajjanar said, “A stakeholder’s meet has been convened on Friday where a host of possibilities were brainstormed.” 

He further said, “Showcasing Telangana by providing a seamless travel experience to the national and international tourists by integrating with various service providers”.

TSTDC Chairman, Uppala Srinivasa Gupta said that a lot of synergies exist between both the corporations and offered to collaborate in unleashing tourism potentiality in the state. 

Gupta further added that people are willing to travel after the pandemic havoc, and tourism corporation is operating buses to gated communities where a sizeable number of passengers are available. 

He added that the Haritha Hotel chain will be beefed up and collaboration with TSRTC would see a win-win situation for both the corporations alongside improved tourism.

Tour operators, culture and heritage professionals, hoteliers and tourists guides participated in the brainstorming session and offered several valuable suggestions.

Hyderabad: Has the Congress government silently appointed chairpersons to 37 different corporations? The timing of the appointments and the reasons behind the State government not making any official announcement are heating up debates in political circles, including within the Congress.

The Election Commission of India had declared the Lok Sabha poll schedule on Saturday afternoon. The same evening, news broke about appointment of chairpersons for different corporations. However, till date, the government orders, if issued at all, are not uploaded in the Government Order Issue Register. This is even when the list of persons nominated as chairpersons was being shared extensively on social media platforms and among Congress leaders as well.

On Monday, Patel Ramesh Reddy, who as per the list was selected for Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation chairman’s post, met Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao at Ravindra Bharathi. Now, the buzz in political circles is whether the chairpersons can assume the offices as the election code is in vogue.

When the issue was raised with Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj at a press conference here on Monday, he replied: “I will have to check and get back to you.”
