It was also a moment of nostalgia since these friends live far away without that old bonding. We arrived as one of our friends has already got our tickets. We opted for the rollercoaster ride, although it rose great fear and excitement in us. It was as majestic as it was fearful.

Once into it, we realized how beautiful the company was. We were thrilled with joy and enjoyed all the water rides with extreme fun. The summer heat no longer felt tormenting us as the mirth filled the air. After completing the rides we changed our dresses and quickly visited the dance p[platform. We enjoyed each other’s company and forgot the passage of time. Happiness, like bubbles, brewed up till we returned back and parted our ways.

Visiting a water park that day was not any show of our sophisticated taste. But it was god’s grace that all our long-lost friends got reunited. Those lost memories were once again relived and cherished as if it was anew. I still can feel the happiness of that day and will never forget this wonderful memory.

A Memorable Visit to the Nairobi National Park Essay

One of my childhood fascinations revolved around watching TV programs on wild animals and reading documented literature on these animals in their natural habitats. Lions, elephants, and giraffes were particularly fascinating to watch, though the perception then was that the animals were merely fiction since they seemed so large compared to the dogs and cats living amongst us in the neighborhood. But this perception suddenly changed when I visited the Nairobi National Park in Kenya, where I came alive to the fact that these animals are real and inherently beautiful.

My journey to the East African country was facilitated by a cultural exchange program shared between my former school and another institution in Kenya. Although I was exposed to very many new things during my three weeks stay in the country, the most memorable experience was a visit to the Nairobi National Park with my colleagues and mentors. The national park is an expansive and unique ecosystem spanning across 117 km 2 of open grass plains with scattered acacia bush and other breath-taking vegetation types.

The uniqueness of the park is grounded on its capacity to host major wildlife attractions and ease of accessibility from the capital city. The park is located only 7 km from the capital city of Kenya, hence tourists can easily land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and have the opportunity to visit the park the same day.

In terms of major wildlife attractions, the Nairobi national park easily passes as one of the best in the world due to the many varieties of animals and their interactions in broad daylight. In the five hours that I was in the park, I had the chance to view black rhinos, lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and other animal varieties in their natural surroundings as opposed to viewing them in a zoo. The game viewing was spectacular, particularly when it came to the hunting episodes involving lions and other herbivorous animals such as the wildebeests. I noticed that the lions hunted in a group of four or five and were often led by a female member of the group known as the lioness.

I also observed that, although these lions seemed huge and heavy, they were extremely fast in their hunting episodes and killed their prey through strangulation. Although female lions did most of the hunting, the largest share of the prey went to the male lions and cubs in what could be compared to contemporary home contexts whereby women settle down to eat after serving their men and children.

The tour guide informed us that they are many elephants and giraffes in the national park due to the Savanna environment and availability of many shrubs that act as a major source of food for the wildlife. True to the tour guide’s depiction, I viewed almost thirty elephants moving in a herd which was led by a huge male elephant. I came to learn that the elephants are considered as an endangered species due to poachers who kill them to extract their highly priced tusks and sell them in major European and Asian markets.

The tour guide also told us that, although giraffes have no known enemy, it was clear that human beings were increasingly killing them for their meat and skin. I could not understand why people could take part in killing such beautiful creatures for their trophies and meat.

Away from the enticing range of wild animals, I came to learn from the tour guide that the Nairobi national park holds corporate events such as bush dinners and team building excursions, special events such as weddings, and is also home to a favorite three-star restaurant where visitors can relax for sumptuous meals while overlooking the park. I had the occasion to witness one corporate event and interacted with a lot of people that were not part of our team.

One group that caught my attention consisted of ten men wearing traditional African regalia and dancing to the tunes of beautiful cultural songs. I was informed that these men were part of a larger cultural troupe that welcomed visitors into the park through song and dance. Although the men looked traditional, they demonstrated a fair understanding of the English language as they sang some of the songs in English. The people in the park were increasingly friendly and demonstrated a genuine concern about our comfort and safety while at the park. The singers, who I later learnt were from the “Maasai” community, kept us alive with their comforting songs and even welcomed us to dance with them.

To date, the visit at the Nairobi national park still remains my most memorable experience due to the many wildlife attractions and hospitable people. Not only did I come across my childhood fascinations in real-life context, but I also watched the animals hunt their prey in the expansive plains located just outside the capital city. It was the most fulfilling experience of my life, though I was sad that some unscrupulous individuals were killing the animals to benefit commercially through the sale of game trophies and meat. It is my conviction that developed countries should assist in curtailing the trade in animal trophies by criminalizing the business and providing the much needed funds to protect animals in their natural habitats.

A park can be big or small. It can have different things because they are made for a different purpose. Some parks have many swings for children. Swings like a merry-go-round, see-saw, slides are placed where all children can enjoy together. Some parks are for adults and they have fitness equipment, walking path and benches for old people.

People go to the park for many reasons. Children go to a park in the evening to play with friends. Some teachers and parents also take them to the park for a picnic. Many people go there in the morning or in the evening for a walk to enjoy the greenery and breathe fresh air. Some go in groups to do exercise and yoga together. Some people go there to do activities like reading, painting or cycling.

Parks play a very important role in society. They help people to stay healthy and fit. walking on grass and staying around a lot of trees is very healthy. It also reduces stress and makes people happy. People meet their friends and spend quality time. Parks are a safe place for children where there are no vehicles and they can play there safely. Parks also make our society look beautiful and green. Trees are planted here and it is also good for the environment.

Today people remove the parks to make buildings and houses. Children play on the road and they are unsafe. Trees are not planted around and this affects our environment badly. We must all have one park in an area and keep it clean and green.

A Process Decision Software Map

A Process Decision Software Map is a tool for constructing a contingency plan. PDPC assists in recognizing future obstacles that one can face when trying to accomplish clear goals (American Society for Quality, 2006). After identifying the potential challenges in actualizing a plan, it helps one to come up with possible solutions to the problems (American Society for Quality, 2006).

Planning a Visit to a Game Park

Application of a PDPC in planning a visit to a game park outside our country helped us to know the challenges and came up with solutions to facilitate feasibility of our plan as summarized below.

Research and Budgeting

After constructing a PDPC diagram, we found that doing research on the game park to visit is an important thing. We need to develop a budget for the visit so that we know the cost of the tour. After the research and developing the budget, we need to make some fundamental decisions about the tour. For us to accomplish our mission, we should decide on the game park to visit, set a date and know how we will get to the game park. Since we will be going far from our country, it is important that we get accommodation in the country.

Potential Challenges

Challenges that we might experience are; absence of some people, or we do not agree on one game park, getting a vehicle, some people may not like the place, the park might be booked by other people or may be closed, and maybe some of us will not be available.

Actions to Take

To actualize our visit, we must discuss early enough about the place and the date to visit. It is necessary to book a flight early enough to secure our flights. We need to contact a car hire firm early and book a vehicle. We should also arrange with the game park management to confirm that it will be open on our set date. It is important that we look for the day that everyone will be available. We also need to know where we will spend the night since will not come back on the same day.

Countermeasures

All the stated countermeasures are viable because we have enough time to discuss the visit and we have the contacts of some game parks in other countries and, therefore, we will communicate with them before the visiting day. We will also contact car hire firms before that date.

One park that I visited and liked was Central Park in New York City. I visited Central Park during the summer, on a warm and sunny day.

I liked Central Park for a few reasons. First, the park is huge and has a lot of different areas to explore, including lawns, gardens, fountains, and even a lake. There is always something new to see or do, and it is a great place to spend a few hours or even an entire day.

Second, Central Park is also a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Despite being located in the heart of Manhattan, the park feels peaceful and serene, and it is a great place to take a break from the noise and chaos of the city.

Finally, I also liked Central Park because of its rich history and cultural significance. The park has been featured in many movies and TV shows, and it is an iconic and well-known place that attracts visitors from all over the world. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Central Park and would definitely recommend it to others.

Children enjoy nature. They love the fresh air and chirping of the birds.

But they only realise the value of nature when it is explained to them by their parents or teachers.

9. How can we encourage children to go to parks?

We can encourage children to go to parks by taking them there and by enjoying those parks with them.

10. Are there many parks in your city?

Yes, there are. Every area has a park of its own. In some areas, the people of the neighbourhood contribute to maintain them.

In some areas, these have been adopted by some business houses.

11. What’s the difference between public gardens and private gardens?

Public gardens are maintained by government.

They are open to public. People can go there. Mostly they are free, but some may have a nominal fee.

Private gardens are owned by private individuals or companies. It is on their discretion whether to restrict their entry or keep it open.

Netflix Nextworld released in Roblox, includes minigames from Netflix movies and shows

The Nextworld includes various attractions from Netflix's movies and shows

Roblox players are about to get a lot more out of the game, as Netflix has partnered with the developer to create a digital theme park. Netflix Nextworld is a new world inside Roblox that will let players visit iconic locations from various Netflix properties, including Stranger Things, One Piece, and Rebel Moon.

Nextworld will launch in early access on May 9 in Roblox. Netflix has released a trailer giving us a glimpse of what the digital wonderland will look like, which you can watch below:

It's not just about easter eggs and in-game items, as Nextworld will also include fully playable games inspired by its properties. Here are some of the games Roblox players will enjoy in Nextworld:

One Piece: East Blue Brawls
Rebel Moon: Outskirts Battles
Is It Cake?
Cobra Kai Miyagi-Do Balancing Board

Mascots from Netflix's owned IP, such as Dustin from Stranger Things and Luffy from One Piece, will guide players around the digital park. Players will also be able to go on different quests, though it hasn't been revealed what rewards those will unlock.

The TUDUM theater in Nextworld will let players host watch parties

After finding those rewards, players can decorate their private space, also known as the Fan Pod. Roblox also plans to introduce user-generated content to personalize your pods, where various digital avatars can party up. These include items like a Demogorgon Plushie Head and a One Piece Flag.

Of course, no Netflix-themed partnership would be complete without including watch parties, and that's where the Tudum theater comes in. Players will be able to host the same from their Streamship, which acts as a home base in Nextworld. Exclusive premieres for upcoming Netflix shows like Jurassic World: Chaos Theory will also be held in the Tudum Theater, which takes place on May 17, 2024. Netflix joins other brands like Nascar in partnering with Roblox, which now has over 70 million users worldwide .

The Netflix Nextworld will launch in early access on May 9 on PC, Mac and all consoles that support Roblox.

I-95 closures in Philly today for vice president’s visit will affect Phillies fans

The rolling closures are due to a visit by Vice President Kamala Harris, who is speaking at an event in Montco.

There will be rolling closures on a large swath of I-95 in Philadelphia Wednesday due to a visit by Vice President Kamala Harris.

A large swatch of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia will close Wednesday before and after the Phillies take the field.

Thankfully, these latest shutdowns are only temporary.

The I-95 closures, which will stretch from Academy Road in Northeast Philly all the way to Essington Avenue in Southwest Philly, are due to Vice President Kamala Harris visiting the region Wednesday . She’s scheduled to speak in Elkins Park at 2:30 p.m., where she’ll be joined by Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph.

It is Harris’ third trip to Pennsylvania this year and the 13th since she was sworn in as vice president in January 2021. President Joe Biden, also not a stranger to Philadelphia, was last in town on April 18 ahead of the commonwealth’s primary elections.

But Harris’ visit comes as Phillies fans will be traveling to and departing from Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays, with the first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. So if you’re driving to the game, be prepared for some extra traffic as the rolling closures allow Harris to make her way to and from Montco.

Harris is not expected to stop at Citizens Bank Park and check out the red-hot Phillies , who have the best record in baseball (26-11) and are off to their best start since 1995.

Here’s a rundown of today’s I-95 closures:

About 1 p.m.: I-95 northbound from Academy Road to Essington Avenue will close temporarily.

About 4 p.m.: I-95 southbound from Academy Road to Essington Avenue will close temporarily.

Twitch streamer Kai Cenat won’t be prosecuted for NYC park giveaway chaos

A popular Twitch streamer and YouTube personality who was charged with inciting a riot last year after a New York City giveaway turned into chaos will not be prosecuted, the prosecutor’s office said.

Kai Cenat and two others have already paid more than $57,000 and Cenat publicly apologized after the event in Union Square Park went disastrously wrong on Aug. 4, a spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.

The event was not permitted or sanctioned by the city. Cenat, a video game streamer, made promises that he’d give away video game consoles, PCs, gaming chairs and keyboards, among other highly sought-after items.

Hundreds attended. Police said bottles, rocks and fireworks were thrown, aerial video showed people standing on cars, and the NYPD said three officers were injured after police were attacked and in the crush of people.

“The total restitution of $57,099 covers the landscaping damage and additional staff hours needed for clean-up,” the Manhattan DA’s office said. “All of the restitution payments have already been made.”

Cenat, now 22, himself paid $55,000 to the Union Square Partnership under the deal, the district attorney’s office said.

He posted an apology on social media Tuesday in which he admitted he created “an unintentional dangerous situation due to the way I promoted and advertised it.”

“I am from NY and would never want to see the city turned upside down due to unwanted, irresponsible, and dangerous behavior,” Cenat wrote.

“I wanted to do something cool and fun for people and did not think it was going to turn into something that caused harm to the city, and I should have thought more about the post before I announced it,” he wrote.

The NYPD arrested Cenat on charges of riot, inciting to riot and unlawful assembly.

"The case will be officially dismissed after the apology is on social media for a full 24 hours," the spokesperson for the district attorney's office said.
