Japanese metal band BABYMETAL have announced a co-headline tour with DETHKLOK, the on-screen heavy metal band and stars of Adult Swim’s “Metalocalypse,” and support from virtuoso guitarist Jason Richardson. BABYMETAL’s first time back to the US since before the pandemic, the 29-date Live Nation-produced BABYKLOK TOUR will kick off August 30th in Houston, TX, hitting Atlanta, Nashville, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, and many more (full dates below) before wrapping October 11th at Los Angeles’ YouTube Theater. The tour will support their recent, first-ever concept album, THE OTHER ONE.  

TICKETS:  Tickets will be available starting with a CITI presale (details below) beginning today at 12:00 PM ET. An artist presale will begin at 1:00 PM local time and include VIP package options for both artists. Last year BABYMETAL was “sealed” from the world after a successful 10-year journey. In April 2022, THE OTHER ONE restoration project began to recover the BABYMETAL we never knew existed within a virtual world called the METALVERSE. A total of 10 songs were discovered within THE OTHER ONE restoration project, with each song representing a unique theme based on 10 separate parallel worlds that they have discovered.  

On the heels of the tour announcement comes the news of the long-awaited return of Adult Swim’s favorite heavy metal adventure, “Metalocalypse.” In addition to DETHKLOK hitting the road, a full-length original film, written and directed by Brendon Small, “Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar ,” a companion soundtrack and “Dethalbum IV” will also arrive this year.

Stunning, amazing, breathtaking... I don't know which word to use to describe it the best. Such a great and professional performance from Babymetal, I just can't praise them enough. The feel you get from seeing them perform in person has a completely different vibe to it than just listening to them on Youtube. Everyone in crowd was going wild, everyone there shared the same love for the band and that made it even better!

This was my first time seeing Babymetal. Our Tucson, Arizona show was decent, and I was very excited to see the act. However, I felt a little underwhelmed when the show was over. I think my biggest complaint was the set length. The set list was only about an hour long. At the end, they just left the stage. No encore, no "we love you guys, Tucson is the best!", nothing. The crowd stayed around for a minute, wondering, "is this really it?" I kinda felt jipped. The saving grace for the event was the opening act. I'd never heard of Avatar before this show, and I didn't YouTube any of their music prior to the show. I thought they were a little silly at first, with the outfits and face paint and voice style and everything, but in the end, I enjoyed Avatar a lot. Sadly, more than the Babymetal act. Would I see Babymetal again? Yes, but I'd be going in with lowered expectations. Would I see Avatar again? Absolutely, and with deserved high expectations.

So the Babymetal concert was a fantastic show. The songs, the choreography, the lightshow, all were brilliant. I didn't even really mind the addition of two new dancers that much. The Kami Band was of course excellent.

However, missing one member of the original line-up (Yui) made the show feel distinctly un-Babymetal-like. The 'kawaii' that made the act so endearing in the first place is missing without the trio of girls. Not that they can't be allowed to grow up, but they're a team, and the interaction of the three of them is noticably missing.

Overall, very worth the trouble to see. Just...different from earlier Babymetal.

Earlier this month, BABYMETAL announced the addition of a new third member, Momoko Okazaki , who will go by the name of Momometal .

Okazaki had been a member of BABYMETAL 's trio of backup dancers (along with Kano Fujihira and Riho Sayashi ),known as " Avengers ", since 2019, following the departure of one of BABYMETAL 's original members, Yuimetal , in October 2018.

Momoko 's addition to BABYMETAL was announced during the band's show at the Pia Arena MM in Okazaki, Japan.

Momoko was once a member of SAKURA GAKUIN and participated in South Korean reality TV show "Girls Planet 999" as a contestant. However, the singer left the series after the show's first elimination round.

In 2018, BABYMETAL announced the departure of Yuimetal , who was formerly one of the members of the Japanese group's core trio. She exited the band, explaining in a statement that she would go on to pursue a solo career as Mizuno Yu .

BABYMETAL was formed in 2010. Their mission was to unify the world through heavy metal by creating a fusion of heavy metal and the Japanese pop genre. Their music contains a stunning mix of electronic pop, a pinch of alternative and industrial rock, and is leveled up by fast-driven heavy metal. Their live shows are ground-breaking and epic visual as well as sound performances. BABYMETAL continued to travel the path of metal with the international release of their three albums, telling the story of the mighty Fox God and his brave metal warriors.

A book about the first ten years of BABYMETAL , "Bessatsu Kadokawa Souryoku Tokushuu" , was released in Japan in October 2020. It contains a long interview with Su-metal and Moametal as well as never-before-heard stories from band producer Kobametal from BABYMETAL 's decade-long history, photos taken from live shows, a discussion between Demon Kakka and Kobametal , and much more.

BABYMETAL 's latest concept album "The Other One" , was released on March 24.

On the heels of the tour announcement comes the news of the long-awaited return of "Metalocalypse" . In addition to DETHKLOK hitting the road, a full-length original film, written and directed by DETHKLOK 's Brendon Small , "Metalocalypse: Army Of The Doomstar" , a companion soundtrack and "Dethalbum IV" will also arrive this year.

Babymetal are heading to the US for a run of dates with Dethklok, billed as the Babyklock 2023 tour

Babymetal have announced a co-headline 2023 trek with Dethklok, aka the on-screen heavy metal band and stars of Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse.

The bands will head off across the US on the Babyklok tour starting from August 30 in Houston, Texas. They'll make stops in Atlanta, Nashville, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and many more cities before signing off on October 11 in Los Angeles.

The Babyklock tour will serve as the first time the kawaii metallers have performed in the US since before the pandemic, and will see them deliver songs from their recently-released new album The Other One .

Tickets will become available first via a presale through CITI (the official club card of the Babyklok tour) starting from today (April 11) at 12:00 PM ET. 

Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale that commences on April 14 at 10:00 AM local time. 

In October, Babymetal will take to the stage at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, alongside headliners Guns N' Roses, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold and Korn. The event is set to take place at Discovery Park from October 5 until October 8.

Earlier this month, Babymetal welcomed their third new member , Momometal, real name Momoko Okazaki.

The Japanese band announced their new addition on April 1 (AKA 'Fox Day'), during a show at the Pia Arena MM in Yokohama, Japan. Okazaki has served as one of Babymetal’s three backing dancers, known as the Avengers, since 2019.

Fans may also recognise Okazaki from Girls Planet 999 , a South Korean reality tv show which she appeared on in 2021, although was shortly booted off in the show’s first elimination round.

Liz works on keeping the Louder sites up to date with the latest news from the world of rock and metal. Babymetal Bring North American Co-Headline Tour With Dethklok To Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre September 17

(DETROIT – April 11, 2023) – Japanese metal band BABYMETAL have announced a co-headline tour with DETHKLOK, the on-screen heavy metal band and stars of Adult Swim’s “Metalocalypse,” and support from virtuoso guitarist Jason Richardson. BABYMETAL’s first time back to the US since before the pandemic, the 29-date Live Nation-produced BABYKLOK TOUR will visit Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre on Sunday, September 17 at 7 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 14 at 10 a.m. To purchase tickets in the Crest Ford pavilion, Ford Motor Company luxury seats and on the lawn, visit 313Presents.com , LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com . Tickets will be available starting with a CITI presale beginning today at 12 p.m. An artist presale will begin at 1 p.m. and include VIP package options for both artists. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale beginning Friday, April 14 at 10 a.m. More information is available at thebabykloktour.com . The tour kicks off August 30 in Houston, TX, hitting Atlanta, Nashville, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, and many more before wrapping October 11 at Los Angeles’ YouTube Theater. The tour will support their recent, first-ever concept album, THE OTHER ONE.

Last year BABYMETAL was “sealed” from the world after a successful 10-year journey. In April 2022, THE OTHER ONE restoration project began to recover the BABYMETAL we never knew existed within a virtual world called the METALVERSE. A total of 10 songs were discovered within THE OTHER ONE restoration project, with each song representing a unique theme based on 10 separate parallel worlds that they have discovered.

On the heels of the tour announcement comes the news of the long-awaited return of Adult Swim’s favorite heavy metal adventure, Metalocalypse. In addition to DETHKLOK hitting the road, a full-length original film, written and directed by Brendon Small, Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar, a companion soundtrack and Dethalbum IV will also arrive this year.

About babymetal.

Babymetal (stylized as BABYMETAL) is a Japanese metal idol band. Their line-up consists of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Yui Mizuno as "Yuimetal", and Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal". The concept of the group is a fusion of the heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. The three teenage girls and their band are managed by the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation played by the Kami Band. Babymetal released their eponymous debut album in February 2014. Their second album Metal Resistance was released worldwide on April 1, 2016 (2016-04-01).

The lottery opens up in less than 24 hours. There appears to be no THE OTHER ONE membership requirement, but that also means that SUPER MOSH’SH PIT tickets are not available.
