San Diego's king of craft beer offers public tours of its Escondido, California, and Richmond, Virginia, production facilities. Pittsburgh Brewery Guide
Purchase the official guide at any brewery in town and begin your mission to try them all. Each brewery will stamp their designated page upon your visit, just like a passport. Also includes the history of each brewery, amenities, and room for notes.
The new version of the Pittsburgh Brewery Guide offers more ways to earn prizes. We are getting the new version of the guide out to breweries starting April 12. Check the below FAQ on where to find a guide this week.
Purchase the Guide See the prizes
Where can I purchase a Pittsburgh Brewery Guide?
The Pittsburgh Brewery Guide can be purchased at any Pittsburgh Brewers Guild member brewery. We do our very best to keep them in stock. If you are having difficulty obtaining a guide, please email [email protected]
How much does the guide cost?
The Pittsburgh Brewery Guide is $10.
How old do I need to be to participate?
Participants must be 21 years old to participate in the Pittsburgh Brewery Guide and receive stamps. However, many of our breweries are family friendly and welcome children of all ages.
How do I get my Pittsburgh Brewery Guide stamped?
To receive a stamp, simply show your guide to a bartender at any participating brewery. You receive one stamp per brewery.
How many breweries are featured in the third edition of the Pittsburgh Brewery Guide?
This version includes 44 breweries, including many that have opened in the two years since the previous version was released.
What prizes can I win?
For more information regarding prizes please see our Pittsburgh Brewery Guide prizes page.
Do I get to keep my guide once it’s complete?
Yes, the guide is yours to keep! Once you’ve collected all stamps and obtain your prize, we encourage you to keep your passport and showcase what a cultured beer drinker you are.
Does the Pittsburgh Brewery Guide expire?
The first, second and third edition of the passport does not expire. See your passport for prize eligibility. The first edition is eligible for the glass prize at 30 breweries visited. The second edition is eligible for the three prize levels. The third edition is eligible for four prize levels.
Stamps must be earned on each individual Guide, meaning you cannot earn a prize for 10 breweries visited if you have five stamps on a the second edition of the Guide and five stamps on the third edition of the Guide.
Am I eligible for the 40 breweries visited prize if I have the second edition of the Guide?
Unfortunately, no. Each version of the Guide has a distinct prize structure, so to earn a prize for visiting 40 breweries you must have the third edition of the Guide.
How are the participating breweries selected?
Each participating brewery is a member of the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild. In order to join the guild, each brewery pays financial dues and produces beer in Allegheny County. More breweries are expected to join the guild in the future, and we plan to add them to future editions of the guide.
What happens if my Pittsburgh Brewery Guide is lost or stolen?
While we certainly hope that doesn’t happen, there is unfortunately no way we could help due to a limited number of printed guides.
I forgot to bring my Pittsburgh Brewery Guide while visiting one of the participating breweries. Am I still able to get a stamp?
Yes. Keep the receipt from your purchase and go back to the brewery to get the stamp.
Who do I contact if I have questions about the Pittsburgh Brewery Guide?
You can email [email protected] with any questions.
We love hearing from craft beer enthusiasts, whether you’re a local or just visiting. Submit your information below and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Barry and Eric were excellent tour guides and did a great job of not only teaching us about the history of beer, but also made a point to learn about each person's favorite type of beer so it was including in the samplings. All the places we visited were great. I definitely plan on doing this again."

What is brews cruise.
Brews Cruise is a mobile craft beverage tour company providing educational tasting tours to local craft breweries, wineries, and distilleries.
Tours and activities are generally offered on a vehicle such as a van or a minibus, but some locations offer tours on foot, on bikes, on kayaks, and on powered boats.
Brews Cruise offers an exclusive tour experience for those seeking a fun way to learn how various types of craft alcohol are created and meet the fine folks who work hard to produce great-tasting products locally.
- As new companies open their doors, Brews Cruise tours help them to showcase their company and products! Many of our tour partners have been open only three years or less.
- There are nearly 9,000 craft breweries nationwide! Brews Cruise highlights several in each city we serve.
- But we are more than just beer! Many tours visit cider-makers, wineries, kombucha producers, hard seltzer creators, distilleries, and more
- Our mission is to help guests in each of our destinations enjoy an expertly guided experience to meet the local producers of craft alcohol at their site and enjoy their tasty crafts.
- Nearly all of our tours operate with a minimum of three stops, and tour tickets are all-inclusive. That means the alcohol samples are pre-paid!
- We specialize in corporate groups, private tours, wedding parties, and everything in between. Contact the individual locations to see what they can do to make your next group activity something truly special and memorable.

We Asked 10 Brewers: What Makes a Killer Brewery Tour?
words: Emily Saladino
Published: September 4, 2018
If you take the time and pay a fee to tour a brewery , chances are you’re pretty into beer. We asked 10 brewers across the country how breweries can show their appreciation for visiting devotees.
From insider access to samples aplenty, here is everything that separates a good brewery tour from a great one.
“A knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic tour guide. You can give people an unforgettable tour of an outhouse factory if you make it relatable and do it with energy and passion.”— Victor Novak, Brewmaster, Golden Road Brewing
“The guide!”— Emily Byrne, Brewer, Schlafly
“Knowledgeable people make a big difference — but fun, engaging, insightful, and passionate people take it to the next level. Being able to get as close to the brewery is great. Drinking from tanks, meeting brewers, fun facts, and feeling the brewery as you walk through it are great. It should be a little special because a brewery should appreciate the dedicated people who are now making breweries part of their lives on a bigger level. Historically, breweries were important parts of every community they were in and we are certainly seeing that again as breweries become meeting places and social anchors. So those who want to take it up a notch and get the deep dive that a good tour offers should come away feeling like it was worth it to the point where they feel even more connected to the beers and brewery they admire. They will tell their friends about it, and probably the world using some sort of social media or review site. So don’t screw it up.” — Jared Jankoski, Brewmaster, Goose Island Beer Co.
“It’s all about the guides: engaging, passionate, and knowledgeable. The tour guide should be in the brewery enough to know that the halls were designed wide enough for full pallets of pumpkin puree to move through and other insider details that you only get at the brewery. All access and an in-process beer sample are great, when permitted.” — Josh Waldman, Head Brewer, Elysian Brewing
“A great brewery tour is made when the staff is enthusiastic about showing off all the cool things they have and teaching you about the process. For me, it’s less about the process and more about the cool toys each brewery has and how they might do things a little different than we do… Obviously, a super-cool layout and high-end brewing equipment pique my interest, but someone who loves giving tours and is happy to show off what they do is the best part.” — Josh French, Production Brewmaster, Devils Backbone Brewing Company
“There are three keys to a great tour. First, a knowledgeable tour guide who knows the history of the brewery, knows about beer, and respects the industry by conveying their message without bad-mouthing other brewers. Second, an opportunity to get up close to the actual equipment, not just seeing it on a video screen or behind a glass window. Third, an opportunity to sample some of their beers along the way.” — Dan Jansen, Brewmaster and Director of Operations, Blue Point Brewing
“Making people feel like an insider is an important element to the perfect brewery tour. Being a brewmaster, I get to see behind the scenes, and I think the average brewery visitor wants that same feeling: That’s why they are on the tour. A kickass tour will include a knowledgeable guide who will let you get into the action, while observing safety. And of course you want people to taste what they are learning about, so samples are needed. I like the tours where there are pit stops dedicated to tasting a couple beers along the way… Finally, always set expectations, especially as it relates to tour duration. A good tour can vary in length, going anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours, but you need to let folks know what they are getting into before kicking off the tour because expectations are everything. And if you lean towards a longer tour, it’s important to break it up with tastings along the way.”— Eric Warner, Brewmaster, Karbach Brewing
“Hands down, it’s the guide. I’m willing to overlook the ‘worts’ and all (ha!) if I’m not only being informed, but entertained. Enthusiasm and knowledge trump all. But free beer is always a plus.” — Andy Ingram, Co-Founder and Head Brewer, Four Peaks Brewing
“A great tour starts out with excitement, from the guests and the tour guides. I’m a big fan of interactive tours. It’s a great way to show off a brewery’s inside knowledge, and showcase what really makes them stand out.” — Andrew Burman, Co-Founder, Other Half
“A great brewery tour consists of three main elements: tour guide, ambiance, and beer. The tour guide needs to love what they do, as well as be approachable and easy-going. Scripted tours are too stuffy and come off as disingenuous… The layout of the brewery is a huge factor. It does not have to be high tech by any means, just interesting and unique. There should be multiple stops throughout the tour for the group to gather and learn about the brewing process. It’s important to have an area that you’d want to hang out and crack a few fresh beers after the tour, too.” — Jimmy Seifrit, Brewmaster, 10 Barrel Brewing
“A great brewery tour is always in the details for me. I’m constantly on the lookout for those little Easter eggs hidden in each brewery I visit that make me want to ask a question. Whether it’s the classic rubber chicken or a velvet painting of Tom Selleck, à la Burial Beer Co., if it looks like it doesn’t belong, chances are the brewers had a good time putting it there.” — Jen Currier, Lead Blender, Wicked Weed Brewing

For hundreds of years, Windsor was famous for the quality and consistency of its beers but all that came to a stop in 1931 with the closure of the of last brewery. In 2010 we brought craft brewing back to the heart of Windsor and our beers have won over 70 international, national, regional and local awards. Craft beer is a truly global movement, and we’ve created collaborative brews with other independent breweries all round the world. Here in Windsor, we work with many local businesses and charities and in 2018 we were awarded a royal warrant to supply beer to Queen Elizabeth II.
Ever wondered how the beer is made? Want to know the stories behind our beers? Want to taste a range of different beers? If so, then our brewery tours are for you.
They are fun, friendly, and informative, rating 5* on TripAdvisor and 4.9* on Google. We host our brewery tours at 12:30 & 15:00 every Saturday.
Your brewery guide will tell you about the history of brewing in the town and how Windsor & Eton grew from an idea to brewing one and a half million pints a year.
You will sample raw ingredients as well as finished beers and be shown round the brew house to see and smell the beer at every stage of the brewing process.

Map & Directions
Road directions.
**By Car**: If you are driving, you can use a GPS or map to navigate to the brewery's address: 1-4 Vansittart Estate, Windsor SL4 1SE. There is limited parking available, so it's advisable to check for nearby parking options in advance.
Public Transport Directions
By Train from London. Two options: 1. Paddington to Slough and then change onto the link train that takes you to Windsor Central station. Leave the platform at stairs (opposite end to the ticket office ie turning left as you get off the train) leading down to the bus park. Walk away from town with the train viaduct on your LHS until you reach the end of the car park (ie after the bus park) – go under the viaduct on your left and the brewery is at the far end of the building immediately ahead of you with the entrance at the front Windsor and Eton Brewery.
2. Waterloo to Windsor and Eton Riverside station. Leave the station turning right down the hill and follow the riverside path upstream (left), crossing up and over Eton Bridge (but staying on the Windsor side) and continuing to follow the path along the side of the river all the way till you see the Hawker Hurricane statue (full scale ‘flying’ model plane). Turning left go under the railway viaduct and the brewery is at the building immediately ahead of you with the entrance at the front Windsor and Eton Brewery.
