The Doremi Castle Aqua Park will include a pathway of water features with sprays, fountains, water pistols and an automatic drenching bucket. But the highlight will be the Vertigo water slide, which launches from the 18th deck and offers a 394-foot-long ride, including one 30-foot translucent portion that extends over the side of the ship, giving riders a direct, but fleeting, look down to the water. Launched in 2010, Norwegian Epic was the first cruise ship in the industry to feature studio accommodations for solo travelers. Norwegian Cruise Line offers this category on nine of the 19 ships in its fleet, including the newest ship, Norwegian Viva. These cabins, at an average size of 100 square feet, are designed and priced with the solo traveler in mind. They have no single supplements – and studio rooms on board Norwegian Bliss even boast virtual windows.

Guests of the studios get access to the private Studio Lounge. In this exclusive space, you can socialize with other solo travelers and enjoy complimentary refreshments. There are also singles meetups throughout the voyage and plenty of fun-filled onboard activities to mingle with like-minded cruisers. Solo travelers can check out all the fun for singles on Norwegian Viva this winter on a cruise to the Caribbean , or in spring 2024 as the ship sets sail for the Mediterranean .

MSC Cruises offers interior and balcony solo cabins for single cruisers on its Meraviglia-class ships: the MSC Meraviglia, Bellissima, Grandiosa, Virtuosa and the newest vessel in the fleet, MSC Euribia. The second-newest ship, MSC World Europa, has 28 cabins – 10 Studio Interior and 18 Studio Ocean View staterooms – designed specifically for solo travelers. MSC World America, set to debut in 2025, will also feature the solo studio staterooms.

During voyages with MSC Cruises , single cruisers are invited to a complimentary, hosted cocktail party to mix and mingle with other solo travelers. Three of Holland America Line's newest ships each offer 12 solo cabins to accommodate single travelers: the Pinnacle-class Nieuw Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Konigsdam. These ocean view staterooms range in size from 127 to 172 square feet and feature the same amenities as the double occupancy cabins but with a double bed. The cruise line's Single Staterooms are priced for one person. If a guest chooses to book a different stateroom, single supplements for double occupancy cabins are as much as 100% over the standard fare, depending on the voyage and the cabin category.

Long committed to solo travelers, the line offers many activities where guests can meet other singles such as wine tastings, cocktail mixers, exercise classes, daily quizzes, sports challenges and more. If you're a solo traveler and a member of AARP, Holland America is now the exclusive cruise benefit provider to AARP's members. Solo cruisers will have access to an AARP member-only onboard credit that ranges from $50 to $200, depending on the itinerary and stateroom category.

Two single occupancy staterooms are available on four of AmaWaterways' river cruise ships: AmaDolce, AmaDante, AmaLyra and AmaCello. These accommodations do not have single supplement fees. I will be cruising MSC for the 3rd time next year (first time in Yacht Club) and got my 5% but would like to check out some of their cruises that give 10% or 15% discount also. Thanks for any advise.

Go to voyager club section of website.  Those extra discount cruises are listed there.

I believe it's actually a civil servant discount.  I am a teacher and received 10% off my last MSC cruise. 

Civil service gets additional 10% on balcony and above, 5% of inside and ocean view.  That is in addition to the Voyagers club 5%.

I only know of it being offered to North American customers, I haven't seen it on the UK site.

Having been a UK Firefighter for 30 years the only discount I have ever receieved was from my car Insurance companies due to holding an advanced driver qualification. Holiday and cruise companies forget it.

I have the civil service discount for US bookings I but have never used it on a sailing so far.  For eight sailings now I've always been able to find a better deal without it.

We got the 10% civil service discount and then our TA gave us another 8+% discount.  I felt that was a good deal.  We'll see in January since it is our first cruise on MSC!

Are you aware of bluelightcard.co.uk for employees of all emergency services? I am NHS, and have used it often for good discounts, not cruises as yet TBF for the same reason as Ate expressed!

I asked my TA to see if we could get the government employee discount on a cruise that is a week past final payment.  Answer = YES!  But only the 10% – had to give up the 5% VC discount.  Still, $300 coming back to my credit card.  And the TA didn't reduce their rebate either.  Sweet deal.

To clarify, since I've been through this a few times...

The Voyager discount for past passengers is a minimum of 5%. Some promo cruises are 5 + 10% and some are 5 + 15%. You can find these in the Voyager Club section of the website. And the math can be quirky. If it's a "5 + 15" cruise, that doesn't mean 20% off. It means 5% off, and then the remaining 15% comes off the balance (or to say another way, an additional 15% off 95% of the original cruise fare).

If you want the 10% military discount, as stated above you forfeit the Voyager Club benefits. If booking the cruise online or through a TA, you proceed as normal and call in after with your booking number for the 10% to be applied at which time they will remove any automatic Voyager discount that was initially applied.

The UK? Well... 😂  you possibly get 25% if you have five kids before you are 21, claim max benefit and are part of a drink/drug rehab scheme (30% if you have both)
