Ticketmaster

The UK leg of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour will kick off on 7 June 2024 in Edinburgh and wrap up on 20 August 2024 in London.

Ticket availability is extremely limited, and some ticket options will be unavailable.

Ticketholders can resell any or all of their tickets, including the lead booker ticket, via AXS or Ticketmaster.

Through the official resale facilities, ticket resale prices are capped to help combat the inflation of ticket prices and put a stop to ticket touting and bots.

Purchasing tickets via the official resale facilities also ensures that the ticket you are purchasing is genuine. As set out in the terms and conditions of sale, any tickets found to be purchased via resale on the non-official secondary market will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled. Therefore, we strongly advise that you sell and purchase your tickets via the official ticket agents.

The time has finally come for you to experience Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour as tickets will soon go on sale for UK fans. But first there are some important things you should know ahead of time to make sure the process is as smooth as possible, and to give you the best chance of getting your hands on those all-important tickets.

Firstly, you must register to get access to all ticket sales for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour

Ticket Sale Registration is being used to filter out buyers looking to resell tickets and prioritise genuine fans like you, ensuring that tickets go directly into the hands of those who truly want to attend the show.

It’s also important to note that Ticket Sale Registration does not guarantee access to the sale, or to tickets. We expect there will be more demand than there are tickets available, meaning only a limited number of fans will gain access to the sale. The system will then work on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are not initially selected, don’t worry! Fans not selected at first will be placed on a waitlist and may receive an invitation to join the sale if further tickets become available.

On 5 July, you will be contacted by the promoter, AEG Presents, confirming next steps.

The label pre-sale is ONLY open to fans who participated in the UK store Midnights pre-order offer between Monday 29 August 2022 and Thursday 27 October 2022. If you participated in the UK store Midnights pre-order offer you will be officially communicated with via the email supplied at checkout originally.

Taylor Swift in the UK: Eras Tour timings, setlist and everything you need to know

Are you ready for it? The UK leg of the Eras Tour kicks off this week

Chiara Wilkinson

Hot Swiftie summer is within touching distance. After over a year pouring over set lists and constantly refreshing our feeds to hear news about the star, Swifties of Britain will finally get to experience the Eras Tour live and in person. Her UK run of shows kicks off this week – yep, this week!

On her US leg, we saw the mega star perform through a torrential storm, dive head first into the stage, partake in a short-lived relationship with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy (that then inspired a whole new album), and bring her ex Taylor Lautner out to do a few backflips. We can only hope that the UK leg will be just as exciting and spectacular.

So make the friendship bracelets and pick your Era. Here’s everything we know about Taylor’s Eras tour in the UK.

When is Taylor Swift coming to the UK as part of her 2024 Eras tour?

She’ll be over in two rounds throughout June and August playing stadiums in Edinburgh , Liverpool ,  Cardiff  and London . The dates are as follows:

June 7 2024 –  Edinburgh, BT Murrayfield Stadium June 8 2024 – Edinburgh, BT Murrayfield Stadium June 9 2024 – Edinburgh, BT Murrayfield Stadium

June 13 2024 – Liverpool, Anfield Stadium June 14 2024 – Liverpool, Anfield Stadium June 15 2024 – Liverpool, Anfield Stadium

June 18 2024 – Cardiff, Principality Stadium

June 21 2024 – London, Wembley Stadium June 22 2024 – London, Wembley Stadium June 23 2024 – London, Wembley Stadium August 15 2024 – London, Wembley Stadium August 16 2024 – London, Wembley Stadium   August 17 2024 –  London, Wembley Stadium August 19, 2024 – London, Wembley Stadium August 20, 2024 – London, Wembley Stadium

How much were Taylor Swift tickets in the UK?

For the London and Edinburgh date presales, tickets ranged in price from around £59 (for partial or obstructed view tickets) to £110 for general admission standing. Front standing was priced at about £172, while seated tickets went up to  £194.

What about VIP?

Some people with acute Swift-itis spent up to £799 on hospitality packages . Those get you things like premium seats, arrival via the hospitality entrance, premium dining options and other cool-but-expensive things.

What’s going on with resale tickets?

With tickets as precious as these, it’s no wonder that they’re already being resold at extortionate prices. Despite a four ticket limit per buyer, resale sites Viagogo and Stubhub already have tickets being resold. Some are listed for as high as £6,000.

Needless to say, you should be especially careful when buying anything on resale and only buy from official resale websites.

Who will be supporting Taylor in the UK?

For her European leg, Taylor is being supported by the one and only Paramore. The pop-punk band's nine-song setlist includes ‘Hard Times’, ‘Misery Business’, ‘Still Into You’ and ‘Ain’t It Fun’.

Additionally, in London T-Swizzle will be supported  by Mette on June 21, Griff on June 22 and Benson Boone in June 23. You can  find out more about her Wembley shows here .

What’s the current setlist for her Eras Tour?

The show is made up of an epic 44-song setlist divided up according to the singer’s ten ‘eras’, which each refer to one of her albums. Thanks to the release of an entire double album in the midst of her world tour, it looks a little different to her North America, South America and Australia setlists.

  • Long Live (from Speak Now era)
  • the 1 (from folklore era)
  • the last great american dynasty (from folklore era)
  • ’tis the damn season (from evermore era)
  • tolerate it (from evermore era)

She also performs two different surprise acoustic songs each night and has invited other musicians to perform with her on stage including Phoebe Bridgers and The National’s Aaron Dessner.

What’s been said about the tour so far?

Taylor Swift kickstarted her tour at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium in March, where she debuted a mega three-hour set playing songs from across her career.

The production includes 16 dancers and many set and costume changes, as well as a moment where the singer appears to ‘dive’ into the stage.

At her show in Arlington, Texas, Swift teased the crowd saying: ‘One thing we said about the Eras Tour: you think you can just go online, you think you can just scroll and know the setlist?

‘Let it be said about the Eras Tour ,  we’re tricksy. That’s what we are [and] we enjoy a good, healthy setlist hijinks.'

Set list for the Eras Tour

Taylor recently kicked off the Europe leg of her Eras Tour, which of course includes the all important UK tour dates. She also made some big changes to the set list following the release of her album The Tortured Poets Department.

For example, in Paris, fans were surprised with the Midnight's track "Paris" and one of her new songs from the Tortured Poets Department, "Loml". So we could expect some surprises here in the UK too!

We've put together Taylor's set list from her in Paris on May 9 - but this could be subject to change when she comes to Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London.

Stage times and support acts

There may be different stage times and support acts for each venue, so it is always worth checking for which venue you will be attending. Paramore will be supporting Taylor Swift for all of the UK shows - they are known for anthems like Misery Business and Hard Times.

Paramore's line-up has changed over the years, and currently consists of vocalist Hayley Williams, lead guitarist Taylor York and drummer Zac Farro. Mette, Griff and Benson Boone will also be joining her for the London shows.

According to Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium website, these are the key timings for their three shows:

  • 3pm - Gates open for early entry ticketholders
  • 4pm - Gates open for everyone else
  • 6pm - Show starts
  • 7pm - Paramore
  • 8pm - Taylor Swift
  • 11pm - Curfew

Liverpool's Anfield Stadium website is also showing similar stage times on their website. The Wembley Stadium website says more details will be released closer to the event.

Seating plan for each stadium

The seating plans for each stadium show were released last year, back when tickets went on sale, to give fans an idea of what their view of the stage would be like. See below for a full list of the seating plans at London's Wembley Arena, Liverpool's Anfield Stadium, Edinburgh's BT Murrayfield Arena and Cardiff's Principality Stadium.

Edinburgh's BT Murrayfield Stadium

The address for this stadium is Roseburn St, Edinburgh EH12 5PJ. There will be huge interest here given this is where the UK leg of the tour kicks off.

Ticketmaster's seating plan for the BT Murrayfield Stadium Edinburgh

Liverpool's Anfield Stadium

The home of Liverpool FC, the address for this stadium is Anfield Rd, Anfield, Liverpool L4 0TH.

Anfield, Liverpool, Stadium seating plan for Taylor Swift shows

Cardiff Principality Stadium

A great venue right in the heart of the city centre so should be fairly easy to walk to from the main station. Amazing for rugby games, I am sure it will be equally so for Taylor.

The address is: Westgate St, Cardiff CF10 1NS

Seating plan for Cardiff's Principality Stadium

London's Wembley Stadium

This huge venue will be exceptional for this gig. Accessible by most modes of transport but be aware if you are travelling on Chiltern Trains just check as some trains won't be stopping at Wembley from the north so you will have to go into Marylebone first.

The address is: London HA9 0WS

This is the seating plan for Wembley

Bags policy for each stadium

Only small bags are permitted to all of the stadiums hosting Taylor Swift's UK concerts. However, the definition of small bag differs from each stadium! Here's the latest bags policies:

  • Edinburgh (June 7 to 9): No bags larger than A4 size (21cm x 30cm). Fans are advised to bring only essential items.
  • Liverpool (June 13 to 15): Only A5 size or smaller (17cm x 30cm) bags are allowed, or bags purchased from the stadium.
  • Cardiff (June 18): Small bags only, no larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm.
  • London (June 21 to 23 and August 15 to 20): No bags larger than A4 size (297mm x 210mm x 210mm), and each person can bring only one small bag.

How to find Taylor Swift resale tickets

Sites such as Viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans who can no longer attend the shows. At the time of writing, both sites have hundreds of Taylor Swift tickets across all 15 UK dates.

However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs. Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience.

Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk. With that said, Viagogo also commented: "Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee."

Viagogo's ticket guarantee assures buyers: "When you purchase tickets on Viagogo, Viagogo guarantees that you will receive the tickets you paid for in time for the event. In the rare instance that a problem arises and the original ticket seller does not provide you with the tickets listed for sale, Viagogo will, in its discretion, review comparably priced tickets and offer you replacement tickets at no additional cost, or Viagogo will issue you a refund for the cost of the tickets.

"'Comparably priced' replacement tickets are determined by Viagogo in its discretion. When you sell tickets on Viagogo, provided you provide the exact tickets listed for sale and the ticket buyer successfully gains entry to the event, Viagogo guarantees that you will be paid for your sale."

Swiftie Forever: The Cutest Taylor-Swift Inspired Necklaces Available on Amazon

The Eras Tour , Swift’s first tour in five years, was announced in November 2022. Presale tickets for the tour went on sale via Ticketmaster that month. Another batch of presale tickets for her 2024 tour stops in Vancouver and new tickets for Australia and Sweden went on sale late last year.

Swift partnered with Capital One on exclusive tickets available for Capital One cardholders. As can be expected, passes to see Swift live remain one of the hottest concert tickets on the market, so we’re breaking down what you need to know so you can secure a seat.

See below for information on how to get last-minute tickets to international stops on Swift’s Eras Tour. Check out the new list of tour dates here .

How Much Do Last-Minute Eras Tour Tickets Cost?

Resale tickets for The Eras Tour are currently available online for concerts in Sweden, Germany, Portugal, Spain and other locations.

How much are last-minute tickets? There’s more than one way to score Eras Tour tickets, but expect to spend at least a few hundred bucks on a ticket, depending on the seats and date of the show.

Swift performed in France from May 9 to 12, and Sweden from May 17-19 . Tickets are scarce and selling fast — especially in the last hour (more than 34,000 people were looking at tickets when we last checked). The Eras Tour will make its way to Spain, Sweden, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Poland, the U.K. and more countries before circling back to the U.S.

Tickets for the North American leg are currently available at StubHub , Vivid Seats and Seat Geek , although pricing ranges from around $1,000 and up, most of the tickets are around $1,200+ at StubHub . For fans who want to catch Swift’s opening night in Miami on October 18 , tickets prices are currently spiking to more than $1,600 .

Looking for the cheapest tickets ? Searching different sites will give you a better chance of landing tickets at a lower price point, but we did some of the digging for you.

At press time, tickets to the shows in Portugal start at around $300 , although most of the in-demand tickets are priced in the $300-$500 range at StubHub , which is around the same prices that you might find on sites such as Ticketsmarter . To score a discount, use code BB2024 and save $20 off purchases of $200 or more at Vivid Seats .

The Eras Tour is a celebration of all 10 of the studio albums Swift has released since 2006. The massively successful tour has raked in over $1 billion . But with the launch of a new album era, Swift has been incorporating Tortured Poets into the tour for a section dubbed, “Female Rage: The Musical.”

“I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time. I’ve been planning for ages and I finally get to tell you: I’m going back on tour,” Swift said on  GMA , announcing the news. “The tour is called the Eras tour and it’s a journey through all of the musical eras of my career.”

Taylor Swift Eras tour 2024: Hundreds of tickets still available as warning issued

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour will arrive in the UK in June and there are still plenty of tickets available if you know where to look

  • 16:49, 22 MAY 2024

How to get resale tickets for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

Taylor Swift is set to arrive in the UK in June, for her highly anticipated Era's tour. Swifties across the UK are brimming over with excitement to attend her spectacular shows in London, Cardiff, Liverpool Edinburgh and Dublin.

If you are a major Swiftie and haven't bagged a ticket to the Era's tour, don't fret, there are still hundreds of tickets available.

Ticketmaster has officially activated its resale feature, although ticket transfers won't be possible until nearer the concert dates. Once these tickets go live, they're expected to sell out quickly, so fans should keep a close eye on Ticketmaster for official resale tickets.

For those desperate to attend the concert, ticket resale websites could be another option. Viagogo is selling Eras Tour tickets for shows across Europe and the UK and some gigs still have hundreds of tickets marked as available in the resale, the ECHO reports.

At the time of writing, the cheapest tickets for Anfield Stadium in Liverpool were priced around £335 although the website states tickets recently sold for £283. Some ticket prices go as high as £1,700. Tickets in London will cost you £385 or spend a little more to get a clearer view for just £431 or you can still get your hands on tickets for her Cardiff show with resale prices starting from just over £300.

While Taylor Swift fans might be desperate to snag tickets to the pop icon's Eras Tour concerts, they should approach reseller sites like Viagogo with caution.

Taylor Swift

Viagogo's ticket guarantee states: "When You purchase tickets on Viagogo, viagogo guarantees that you will receive the tickets you paid for in time for the event. In the rare instance that a problem arises and the original ticket seller does not provide you with the tickets listed for sale, viagogo will, in its discretion, review comparably priced tickets and offer you replacement tickets at no additional cost, or Viagogo will issue you a refund for the cost of the tickets."

"'Comparably priced replacement tickets are determined by Viagogo in its discretion. When you sell tickets on Viagogo, provided you provide the exact tickets listed for sale and the ticket buyer successfully gains entry to the event, viagogo guarantees that you will be paid for your sale."

However, Taylor Swift's official ticketing partners, Ticketmaster and AXS, have issued a stern warning. Tickets bought from unauthorised resellers will be deemed invalid.

They stated: "The only way to obtain a valid ticket for Taylor Swift's shows is via the approved ticket agents. In the UK, the approved ticket agents are Ticketmaster, AXS or directly through the venue's website. In Ireland, the approved ticket agent is Ticketmaster. Any tickets found to be purchased via re-sale on the non-official secondary market will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale."

"Through official resale facilities , ticket resale prices are capped to help combat the inflation of ticket prices and put a stop to ticket touting. For more information on official resale facilities, fans should visit the website of their approved ticket agent. These resale facilities enable fans to sell their tickets with confidence and empower fans to purchase resale tickets with the assurance that the ticket they are purchasing is genuine."

Why are Swifties making friendship bracelets for the shows?

The cute tradition of swapping Swift-themed bracelets first began during the Eras Tour and was inspired by a lyric in Swift’s song from Midnights called 'You’re On Your Own Kid' which goes: “So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it.”

What are the crowd chants I need to learn?

Swifties often create their own chants to particular songs which add an interactive element to the show for the audience, and we've collected all the essential ones you need to know.

During the song 'Delicate' when Swift sings “We can’t make any promises, now can we, babe? But you can make me a drink," to which the fans then scream: "One, two, three, let's go b----!" and this first originated back in 2018.

While when Swift sings 'All Too Well (10-minute version)' before Swift sings “and that made me want to die" the fans scream "how did that make you feel?"

In the 1989 era of the show, when Swift sings the bridge in 'Bad Blood' the lyrics “Band-aids don’t fix bullet holes, you say sorry just for show, if you live like that, you live with ghosts," the crowd chants in response: "You forgive, you forget, but you never let it (pause) go!"

For the song 'Anti-Hero', fans shout Jack Antonoff’s part from the remix after Swift sings: "Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism like some kind of congressman?" to which the audience declares: "Taylor, you’ll be fine."

Eras outfit inspiration

For the Eras tour, fans typically turn up to shows wearing an outfit that represents one of Swift's album eras, and with 11 albums to choose from it can be a hard decision to pick one, but here's a summary description of the style for each era.

  • Debut - cowboy country aesthetic
  • Fearless - gold sparkles
  • Speak Now - purple and whimsical
  • Red - Red and classic style
  • 1989 - light blue and glitter
  • Reputation - blacks, reds, greens and snakes
  • Lover - pink, floral pastel colours
  • Folklore - greys, shiny mirrorball inspired
  • Evermore - burnt orange, autumn aesthetic
  • Midnights - midnight blue, starry sparkles
  • The Tortured Poets Department - black and white contrast

Will Travis Kelce be attending any UK and Ireland shows?

Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce has previously hinted that he will be joining her as she performs in the UK - and is looking forward to it.

“I think she's at Wembley eight times, which is mind-blowing that she can do that many shows at one stadium and fill that thing up,' he told Entertainment Tonight back in April. "I played at Wembley once and I don't even think we filled that thing all the way up."

“London's always an amazing city, Paris is a beautiful city, and she'll be all over Europe - there won't be a bad show, I can guarantee you that.”

When asked if he would be in attendance at any of the shows, the Kansas City Chiefs player said: "You know I gotta go support. You know it."

Are there any Swiftie conspiracy theories surrounding her UK and Ireland shows?

It wouldn't be a Taylor Swift guide without any mention of Swiftie conspiracy theories as fans try to predict the singer's next big move or announcement, so here's a number of theories that have been circulating online.

Surprise song speculation

  • Fans are convinced Swift will play her songs 'London Boy' and 'So Long London' during one of her London shows.
  • Plus, they also think at one of her Liverpool shows she will sing 'Red (for The Reds)' and 'I Can See You' as Liverpool is where she filmed the music video for this song.
  • Sometimes special guests join Swift for the surprise song section and some fans think that Sir Paul McCartney will join Swift on stage at one of her Liverpool tour dates.
  • While others also think The National's (and Swift's collaborator) Aaron Dessner may be a musical guest as it's well known that he is a Liverpool FC fan.

Reputation (Taylor’s Version) announcement rumours

  • The first Liverpool show will mark the 100th day of the tour and Swifties believe Swift will celebrate the milestone with an announcement…
  • Though some also suggest that Swift might announce Reputation (Taylor's Version) at her only Cardiff show on June 18 - which also happens to be Scooter Braun's birthday who her old music was sold to and led her to re-record her back catalogue.

When can you buy resale tickets for Taylor Swift’s London Eras Tour dates?

era tour tickets uk

There is another chance to get tickets for the UK leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour with a resale being held on Tuesday.

Hundreds of thousands of seats at some of the country’s largest stadiums sold out in minutes when they went on sale on July 17 - including her six dates at Wembley Stadium.

Fans were subjected to a booking process that required a pre-registration code and also required a loophole that meant the buyer had to attend - which caught out some who had asked a relative to book for them.

However, unlucky fans will get another chance on Tuesday. Ticketmaster and AXS will be holding a resale from 4pm and all one needs to do is register with the sites in advance and then be prepared to wait in a lengthy queue.

Tickets are being sold by buyers who wish to sell their tickets. Potential sellers have been emailed by Ticketmaster and AXS with instructions and the ticket websites have confirmed that tickets are only able to be resold via official partners.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Eras tour and when you can buy resale tickets.

North American Swifties are traveling internationally for their best chance at seeing Taylor Swift’s 2024 “Eras Tour” as the singer makes her way through Europe.

Swift kicked off the European leg of her tour — after a two-month break and a new album release — on May 9 in Paris, France. The singer performed for four nights at the Paris La Défense Arena and continued her tour through Sweden, Portugal and Spain.

Taylor Swift's reign continues as she ramps up for the next leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter will kick off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.

Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift released her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, so the Swiftie hype will continue through the summer.

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. While Swift continues to extend the tour, including new US dates, tickets remain hard to come by.

Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options . You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Taylor Swift international tour dates

The Eras Tour international dates resumed on May 9 in Paris. The European tour will run until August 20 in London. UK prices are listed in pounds, and start times vary from city to city. Multiple shows have age restrictions for younger kids and specifics on seating and adult accompaniment. A few venues check that a ticketholder's ID matches the name on the tickets. US dates start in October and can be found under the following table.

Taylor Swift North American tour dates

The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows, Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.

How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour

Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services.

Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.

On StubHub, UK tour dates come with a note that ticket terms don't permit resale through unauthorized channels and might not be valid for entry. If this ends up being the case, StubHub notes that its FanProtect Guarantee will cover purchasers.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

Ticket prices vary by date and location. International resale tickets tend to be a bit cheaper than US resale tickets. It's worth noting that some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.

StubHub's cheapest European tickets ranged from $190 (Madrid, Spain, on May 29) to £954 (London, England on August 19). The latter is around $1,200 in USD. The lowest prices for most shows are around $200 to $1,000. On Vivid Seats , the cheapest tickets for these dates go for $278 and $963, respectively.

When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,447 (Vancouver, Canada, on December 7) to $2,520 (Indianapolis, Indiana on November 2). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,500 and $2,250. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,368 and $2,227, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

Who is opening for Taylor Swift's tour?

Taylor Swift has a variety of opening acts, from up-and-coming singers to established groups. Opening acts vary by date. For the European leg of the tour, Paramore will open for Swift. In the US and Canada, Gracie Abrams will be the opening act.

Will Taylor Swift add more dates to the Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift has already added additional stops to her tour due to popular demand, including her US tour dates this fall. She also added additional dates to some of her European city stops, including bonus performances in France and the United Kingdom, among other locations. It's unknown whether Swift will end up adding even more tour dates, but by the end of the upcoming US leg she will have been touring for almost two years, so fans shouldn't be surprised if she takes a break.

Will The Tortured Poets Department be a part of the Eras Tour?

It's good news for fans of "The Tortured Poets Department," Swift's new album that dropped on April 19, 2024. Swift is incorporating several of the new tracks into the Eras Tour, as evidenced by the first shows of her European leg. "The Tortured Poets Department" songs currently featured on tour include "But Daddy I Love Him," "So High School," "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Since the Eras Tour is already pretty long, this means that Swift is also cutting down a few songs from past Eras that previously made the tour setlist. The songs that were removed from the setlist include "The Archer," "Long Live," "The 1," "The Last Great American Dynasty," "'Tis the Damn Season," and "Tolerate It."

How to find Taylor Swift resale tickets and what you should know

Sites such as Viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans who can no longer attend the shows. At the time of writing, both sites have hundreds of Taylor Swift tickets across all 15 UK dates.

But they won't come cheap. On Viagogo , one ticket for the Cardiff date could set you back at least £285. While for one of the Liverpool dates, the cheapest single ticket we found was £282.

At Vivid Seats , for Taylor's first set of shows at Wembley Stadium in June, the cheapest single ticket we found was £499. In Edinburgh, it was £261.

Moreover, Ticketmaster and AXS , Taylor Swift's official retailers, have made it clear that tickets from unauthorised resellers won't cut it. They've stated: "The only way to obtain a valid ticket for Taylor Swift's shows is via the approved ticket agents. In the UK, the approved ticket agents are Ticketmaster , AXS or directly through the venue's website. In Ireland, the approved ticket agent is Ticketmaster . Any tickets found to be purchased via re-sale on the non-official secondary market will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale.

"Through official resale facilities, ticket resale prices are capped to help combat the inflation of ticket prices and put a stop to ticket touting. For more information on official resale facilities, fans should visit the website of their approved ticket agent. These resale facilities enable fans to sell their tickets with confidence and empower fans to purchase resale tickets with the assurance that the ticket they are purchasing is genuine."

Subway is following in the steps of some of its fast-food rivals with the introduction of self-service kiosks and its own dedicated app.

Customers will be able to place orders via digital screens sent to the kitchen instead of making their way along the chain of ingredients.

The self-service kiosks will be in all UK stores before the end of the year,  The Grocer  reports.

The sandwich shop chain is also launching a new app which will enable online orders - and offer customers points towards its "Subway Rewards" loyalty scheme, it said.

The points can eventually be converted into "Subway Cash" to spend on menu items.

Dan Holm, digital leader at Subway, said: "As we think about Subway's future, we're doubling down on our global digital commitment to streamline and simplify the guest experience from start to finish."

By Emily Mee , news reporter

We've all been there. You have a bad day and you need a little pick-me-up - so you head straight to your favourite website to buy something new.

That hit of dopamine you get when buying something is what many businesses rely on - and no one seems to understand it better than fast fashion brands.

But not only is this hurting our wallets, it's also harming the planet.

In the final part of our psychology of shopping series, we spoke to fair fashion campaigner Venetia La Manna ( @venetialamanna ) - who advocates for a more sustainable approach to clothing - about the little tricks fast fashion companies use to get people to spend, spend, spend...

Always in a rush

Many of the techniques fashion companies use involve ensuring people feel rushed to make purchasing decisions.

Ms La Manna says websites and social media pages are set up to make them look "very immediate" so we "always feel like we have to buy something before it's gone" - meaning you're not able to sit with a purchase and think about whether you need it.

Fast fashion companies also keep an eye on trends and push out products as soon as possible to make sure people are "buying very, very quickly without necessarily much thought".

And the sense of urgency is not just limited to online stores.

Ms La Manna says physical clothes shops will make sure their floors are slippery "so you can almost whizz around with more ease".

Often they will also have loud music to encourage "shopping in a frenzy".

Knowing what you want

Fashion sites use "highly advanced" search engine optimisation to find out what kind of products their customers are searching for and push these items to them, Ms La Manna says.

They also work with popular online influencers and get them to post affiliate links - meaning if you want to look like your favourite influencer or celebrity, you can buy what they're wearing "in just a few clicks".

Ultimately, they are making things "very easy to buy" and often have shopfronts on popular social media sites like Instagram and TikTok.

Plus, there is the issue of affordability.

Many are driving their prices down so low that "it makes you feel like 'hey, why not' when it's cheaper than a sandwich or a coffee", Ms La Manna says.

Come inside and buy more

Physical shops use other techniques to entice customers to buy.

For example, Ms La Manna says the heat changes when you go into the shop so you're "invited into a warmer environment".

Shops are also set out in a specific way, often placing cheaper items near checkouts and easy outfit formulas near each other.

The dopamine hit

With lots going on in the world, we may be more susceptible to falling into the spending trap than ever.

"The world is really heavy and people are struggling. Buying fast fashion or buying stuff gives us a momentary hit of dopamine, and of course we need that - when we're suffering, when we're feeling low, [shopping] is an easy one to reach for," Ms La Manna says.

Despite practising "slow fashion" - trying to buy less and more consciously - for years, Ms La Manna says she still has moments where she feels that buying something would make her feel better.

But she says it's possible to get much-needed dopamine hits from elsewhere - including by being active in your community, or by taking your time to find something you really, really want (ideally secondhand!).

Why does it matter?

Aside from being bad for your wallet, Ms La Manna says overconsumption is also bad for the planet and for the garment workers making your clothes.

She says many big fashion companies don't pay their garment workers a fair living wage - with many unable to provide food for their families, living in poverty and lacking paid time off.

The overproduction of clothing is also harming communities in the global south who are left to deal with vast piles of unwanted items, she says.

The majority of clothes taken to charity shops or recycling bins don't end up being resold - instead they are shipped off largely to places in the global south, where communities are "left to deal with a problem that's not theirs".

For more information on slow fashion, Ms La Manna suggests checking out The Or Foundation, Remake and the Clean Clothes Campaign.

P Diddy has sold off his stake in the media company he founded more than a decade ago.

The rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, released his shares of Revolt with the company saying the have been fully redeemed and retired.

Revolt has not disclosed how much Combs was paid for his stake in the hip-hop news and entertainment company, which he founded in 2013.

It also announced a new ownership structure that will give its employees an equity stake in the company.

The move comes after several lawsuits were filed against Combs , accusing him of sexual assault and rape.

In November, he was sued by R&B singer Cassie, who said he subjected her to a years-long abusive relationship that included beatings and rape.

Combs settled the lawsuit with Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, a few days after it was filed.

Three in five secondary school teachers and nearly 80% of primary school teachers are spending their own money on supporting students, according to new research.

A report by the National Foundation for Educational Research, based on a survey of 1,282 teachers and senior leaders, found a quarter of teachers had already spent £100 of their own cash on their pupils or school this academic year.

Some 79% of primary school teachers and 62% of secondary school educators reported spending their own money at some point.

And nearly one in five primary and 17% of secondary teachers said they were spending money on meeting pastoral needs such as providing food or clothes.

Jude Hillary, the NFER's co-head of UK policy and practice, said the report "clearly highlights the high level of need among young people".

She said teachers were "going above and beyond to meet pupils' pastoral needs using their personal funds" and the "unrecognised" support was coming at a time when staff themselves are facing their own cost pressures.

Tesco has started re-stocking its packs of a dozen eggs online, after lengthy supply issues forced them to stop selling them.

The supermarket had already re-started selling them in stores, but online shoppers had to buy two packs of six eggs if they wanted 12, costing them very slightly more.

The shortages began in the autumn of 2022 as farmers left the industry or pulled back on production due to rising costs.

An outbreak of bird flu last year also impacted the sector.

Customers of Loveholidays have had their travel plans thrown into chaos after the parent company of two of its partners unexpectedly went bust.

In a post on Facebook, the holiday firm said FTI Group, which owns YouTravel and Meeting Point, had filed for insolvency.

As a result, the accommodation and transfer arrangements of some travellers have been affected.

A "small number" of hotels have already started contacting Loveholiday travellers, asking them to pay for their rooms again.

In the comments of the post, one person said they had been "threatened to be removed by police" for refusing to pay again.

"We are supposed to go home Thursday evening and worried our transfers and flights might be affected because we are refusing to pay again," Scott Love wrote.

"Shambles this and has ruined our holiday for me, my partner and three children."

Several other people commented, asking the provider to tell them if their trip had been impacted.

Loveholidays said it was "working hard" to honour its customers bookings and "minimise disruption" to any holiday.

It also said it was "absolutely committed" to covering costs and was working with affected customers, and the hotels involved, to make sure that happens.

Those who are on holiday and need support have been advised to contact the holiday support team by calling the number on their booking documents.

Chef Tom Brown has announced he is closing his high-end Hackney restaurant Cornerstone due to high costs of the tasting menu format and changing diner preferences.

The seafood-focused restaurant first opened in 2018 and earned a Michelin star in 2021.

In a statement, Brown said Cornerstone had been his "proudest moment" and his "home for the last six years", and added that his focus would now be on his nearby Pearly Queen site.

An email seen by This Is Money said the service - which texts customers mini bank statements and alerts them to their balance dropping below a certain amount - will be stopped on 10 August.

First Direct told the outlet that customers could get "more detailed and up-to-date information" by logging onto its app or online banking.

McDonald's has lost the EU trademark for "Big Mac" when it comes to chicken sandwiches after a long-running dispute with an Irish restaurant chain.

The European Court of Justice upheld a complaint from Galway-based Supermac's against the US fast food giant.

The trademark for the words "Big Mac" was initially registered with the EU International Property Office (EUIPO) in respect of meat, fish and chicken sandwiches as well as a range of restaurant services by McDonald's in 1996.

Generally, the rights of a holder to an EU trademark are revoked if it has not been put to genuine use within a continuous period of five years.

Supermac's argued McDonald's had insufficiently used the contested trademark in relation to "chicken sandwiches".

McDonald's and the EUIPO put forward examples of advertisements and display boards relating to "Grand Big Mac Chickens".

However, the court found the evidence was not sufficient to prove McDonald's had used the contested trademark enough in relation to poultry products.

Supermac's complaint was upheld and McDonald's protection of the phrase for such purposes was overturned.

Rishi Sunak's claim in last night's debate that Labour will raise everyone's taxes by £2,000 comes from a "dossier" published by the Tories last month, which purported to calculate their tax and spending plans.

The headline "finding" was that over the course of the next four years, Labour had roughly £59bn of spending plans but only £20bn of revenue-raising plans.

That leaves a £39bn hole. Divide that by the number of households in the country (18.4m) and you get a figure of just over £2,000.

Now, there are all sorts of objections to the way the Conservatives have carried out this exercise.

For one thing, they deployed a weapon Labour don't have: because they're the party of government, they were able to ask Treasury civil servants to cost some Labour policies.

Today there has been a backlash - including from the Treasury's permanent secretary himself - about the way the Tories have portrayed these sums.

The £2,000 figure isn't really a Treasury calculation or an "independent" one, as Mr Sunak called it last night. It's a Conservative figure - but it was put together in part with figures commissioned from civil servants.

Labour also says many of the policies in that Tory dossier won't cost half as much as the Conservatives claim.

Regardless, while £2,000 sounds like a big number, it's actually a cumulative total from four years. A far more representative figure to take from the dossier is £500 - the annual figure.

And while that's not to be sniffed at (if you believe it - which you probably shouldn't) it's far, far smaller than the tax rises we've all experienced under this Conservative government since 2019.

They amount, all told, to an average of around £3,000 a year per household or, if we grit our teeth and tot it up as the Tories did in their dossier, over £13,000 over the course of the parliament.

Which rather dwarfs that £2,000 figure.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour: Cheapest tickets for re-sale just days before UK leg kicks off

Tickets for the 15-date run of shows have been in high demand since they went on sale last year. Contains affiliate links.

The UK leg of Taylor Swift's highly anticipated Eras Tour is just a few days away, with fans eagerly preparing to dance to some of the pop superstar's biggest hits. The global tour spans five continents and over 130 dates, having kicked off in the US back in March last year, with millions of 'Swifties' scrambling for tickets.

While most of the tickets for the 15 UK Eras tour dates were quickly snapped up when they went on sale last year, there are still re-sale tickets available at various venues across the country. Since our last check a few days ago, the price of standing tickets - which allow die-hard fans to get as close to the stage as possible - has naturally risen and is likely to continue to do so before the UK leg of the tour begins in Edinburgh on Friday (June 7).

Websites like Viagogo and Vivid Seats offer fans the chance to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, music lovers should be aware that many event organisers state tickets shouldn't be resold after the initial purchase and may not be valid for entry if acquired through this means.

Anyone who has got their hands on tickets via resale sites is advised to double-check the terms and conditions - such as those listed on Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure they can enjoy their gig in peace. The reality is that tickets could be deemed void if it's discovered they were bought second-hand. In essence, fans are making a purchase at their own risk, reports Bristol Live .

Having said this, online ticket marketplace Viagogo has given their stance: "Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the freedom to buy and sell tickets to their favourite live events, safely and securely, backed by a guarantee."

As of now, the most affordable seats available on Viagogo are in Scotland, with Edinburgh gigs going for £277 at the time of reporting. Comparable seats are being offered by Vivid Seats at the same location, starting at £290.

Complete rundown of Taylor Swift's UK tour dates

Taylor is playing a total of 15 dates in the UK in June and August, kicking things off with three shows in Edinburgh before stopping off in Liverpool and Cardiff, and finishing with eight dates at London's Wembley Stadium. Here's the full list:

  • Friday, June 7 – Edinburgh, BT Murrayfield Stadium
  • Saturday, June 8 – Edinburgh, BT Murrayfield Stadium
  • Sunday, June 9 – Edinburgh, BT Murrayfield Stadium
  • Thursday, June 13 – Liverpool, Anfield Stadium
  • Friday, June 14 – Liverpool, Anfield Stadium
  • Saturday, June 15 – Liverpool, Anfield Stadium
  • Tuesday, June 18 – Cardiff, Principality Stadium
  • Friday, June 21 – London, Wembley Stadium
  • Saturday, June 22 – London, Wembley Stadium
  • Sunday, June 23 – London, Wembley Stadium
  • Thursday, August 15 – London, Wembley Stadium
  • Friday, August 16 – London, Wembley Stadium
  • Saturday, August 17 – London, Wembley Stadium
  • Monday, August 19 - London, Wembley Stadium
  • Tuesday, August 20 - London, Wembley Stadium

Re-sale tickets for all these concerts are currently obtainable ranging from a cost of around £266 rising up to a staggering £9,270, contingent on the specifics such as date, location and how keen you are in securing a ticket.

Sites such as viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double-check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.

As per ChronicleLive , official ticket outlets - Ticketmaster and AXS , have put out a statement cautioning that any tickets procured from unauthorised sellers will indeed be declared invalid. They commented: "The only way to obtain a valid ticket for Taylor Swift's shows is via the approved ticket agents.

‘Cruel Summer’ for Swifties? How Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour could fuel a ticket scam in the UK

Swifties in the UK are getting ready for the upcoming Eras tour in June.

However, it appears like Brits are in for a Cruel Summer , as banking lobby group UK Finance has warned that the rush to buy tickets for Taylor Swift’s much-awaited concert may increase purchasing scams in the country.

As per the report, the Olympic Games and Swift’s Eras tour are contending for the year’s biggest ticketing scams.

Here’s how.

Ticketing scams ahead of Taylor Swift’s concert

The alert is issued in response to the industry group’s findings that romance fraud and purchase scams in the country are reaching new highs.

Purchase scams involve paying in advance for items or services — like designer clothes or concert tickets — that the victim never receives. Such scams typically target people via social media fake advertisements or auction websites.

Purchase scams are often linked to big events in the calendar, according to Ben Donaldson, managing director of economic crime at UK Finance, thus Taylor Swift is “going to be a risk this year.”

“We see a cycle of scams changing throughout the year… the Olympics and Taylor Swift are probably the two biggest ones for this year,” he told The Guardian .

Notably, a report released by Lloyds Bank in April disclosed that Swifties had lost a grand total of £1 million due to fraudulent ticket purchases in advance of her next UK tour.

Each victim lost £332 on average, while in other cases they lost more than £1,000, as per Economic Times .

More than 600 patrons of the bank came forward to disclose financial losses, reported CNN .

The bank said at the time that victims were losing £133 on average as a result of all concert ticket scams.

“Tickets for big events such as the Olympics, Euro 2024, Glastonbury or Taylor Swift sell out quickly and people often look online for better offers to avoid missing out. Criminals use this as an opportunity to try and trick you into purchasing tickets that are either fraudulent or don’t exist,” BBC News quoted UK Finance’s Andy Donald as warning.

Billions stolen last year

UK Finance report revealed criminals stole a whopping £1.2 billion through payment fraud and scams last year.

The huge tally was nonetheless down by four per cent in 2022, according to the group’s annual report on fraud.

This small drop in cases was attributed to tighter bank security controls and greater public awareness of the tricks deployed by fraudsters.

“It is really positive that financial losses are down… but the amounts that are being stolen are still absolutely staggering,” The Guardian cited Donaldson.

Approximately 60 per cent of the total £1.2 billion was unauthorised transactions on payment cards and online banking. Such fraud almost invariably results in the victims getting their money back, as per the UK outlet which cited the report.

The remaining £460 million is fraudulent authorised push payment (APP) transactions. Here, a person gets duped into sending money to an impostor.

Approximately two-thirds of the 232,429 APP fraud cases that occurred last year were purchase scams, which saw a 12 per cent increase in cases.

There were 156,516 purchase scam cases, a 34 per cent increase from the previous year. The fraudsters stole £86 million in total.

In terms of both numbers, this was the largest since UK Finance began monitoring APP fraud scams in 2020.

In 2023, victims of APP fraud received a total of £287 million back, which equates to 62 per cent of the total loss. This represents an increase from 59 per cent in 2022.

Other scams that are common

The other most common fraud was romance fraud, where scammers tricked people into believing they were in a relationship.

In terms of losses and cases, such scams were up by 17 per cent to £37 million and 14 per cent, respectively.

“The money stolen funds serious organised crime and victims often suffer emotional damage as fraud is a pernicious and manipulative crime,” Donaldson told BBC .

Card identity theft cases also rose in 2023, with losses up by 53 per cent to £79 million.

In such scams, criminals who are unable to persuade victims into making authorised payments, use their personal information that is stolen to either take over accounts or apply for new credit cards.

The upcoming new rules

According to BBC , to counter the fraud problem, the UK is all set to implement new rules on 7 October this year.

Meaning, the country’s service providers will have to reimburse customers who fell prey to payment scams.

However, there will be some exceptions to this rule.

According to UK Finance, the new regulations address the urgency of the fight against fraud.

“With reimbursement rules set to change, we risk even more money getting into criminal hands, unless the technology and telecommunications sectors take (proper) action to stop the fraud that proliferates on their platforms and networks,” BBC quoted Donaldson as saying.

Currently, there are several banks who have signed up for a voluntary reimbursement code.

Matt Hepburn, TSB’s fraud spokesperson, told The Guardian that it was high time that social media platforms, “stepped up with measures to urgently half the fraud epidemic they currently enable," as more than three-quarters of fraud cases start online.

Taylor Swift bill in Minnesota

For people buying tickets online for concerts, sporting events and other live events in Minnesota, so-called Taylor Swift bill was signed into law by Governor Tim Walz on 7 May.

The law, prompted by the frustration a legislator felt at not being able to buy tickets to Swift’s 2023 concert in Minneapolis, will require ticket sellers to disclose all fees upfront and prohibit resellers from selling more than one copy of a ticket, among other measures.

The law will apply to tickets purchased in Minnesota or other states for concerts or other live events held in Minnesota.

Walz signed House File 1989 — a reference to Swift’s birth year and an album with that title — at First Avenue, a popular concert venue in downtown Minneapolis.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that we would be at a bill signing for House File 1989 at First Avenue,” Democratic Rep. Kelly Moller, chief author of the bill, said.

Moller was among thousands of people who became stuck in ticket sales company Ticketmaster’s system after it crashed in 2022 amid the huge demand for Swift concert tickets and attacks from bots, which tried to buy tickets for resale at inflated prices. The situation led to congressional hearings but no federal legislation.

Supporters of Minnesota’s new law say the state joins Maryland as among the few states to pass protections for ticket buyers into law.

The law takes effect 1 January 2025 and applies to tickets sold on or after that date.

Where is Coronation Street filmed and can you visit the famous set?

Coronation Street sign in the middle of the street

Coronation Street is the longest running television soap opera in the world – having aired over 11,200 episodes across the last 63 years, and serving up plenty of high drama during that time!

The ITV soap focusses on the lives and loves of the residents of Weatherfield, who mostly live on the eponymous Coronation Street and the surrounding area.

Over the years we’ve seen everything from train to tram crashes, explosions, murders, kidnappings, car crashes, robberies and shootings… the list is endless. One thing Corrie is best known for is its ability to seamlessly weave comedy through its tragedy.

It should be no surprise to learn that there are plenty of fans out there who’d love the opportunity to visit Weatherfield for themselves, or perhaps even stop off for a pint in the Rovers.

The question is – just where is the show filmed, where is it set, and can the public visit?

Where is Coronation Street filmed?

Coronation Street set aerial view

For the last 10 years, Coronation Street has been filmed at the show’s purpose-built production base in Trafford Park, Greater Manchester.

The 7.7 acre site is composed of six studios, where the show’s interior scenes are filmed, an ever-growing ‘backlot’ exterior set, and two production hubs which are for office use, dressing rooms, a mail room, props store, costume and makeup storage – and most importantly, the staff canteen!

There’s also a dedicated visitor experience (more on that later).

Coronation Street's Rovers Return set in 1968

Before 54,000 cobbles were laid down at the new site, which is nearby to the MediaCity development, home of BBC and ITV in the North, the show was filmed for 53 years at the former Granada Studios in the Castlefield district of Manchester City Centre.

Corrie outgrew Granada’s facilities quite quickly. For the first eight years on air, the entirety of it was filmed inside of their second smallest studio, including all exterior scenes.

The houses were merely wooden façades, which were later erected outside in a yard in 1968. If you’ve ever visited Manchester before, you’ll know that the weather isn’t great – and they had to rebuild the houses in brick.

At this point, the viaduct (now home to the famous Bistro) was authentic, albeit unused. By 1982, they rebuilt the set again on a much grander scale, this time including Rosamund Street.

Where is Coronation Street based?

Sunset over Coronation Street

In 1995, Coronation Street creator Tony Warren said that the infamous street is ‘four miles in any one direction from Manchester .’

When planning the show before it hit our screens, he and designer Denis Parkin visited the Ordsall area of Salford and based the set design on the long-demolished Archie Street.

In more recent years, we’ve seen real life Salford locations replaced with fictional counterparts – for example, Salford Quays became Weatherfield Quays.

Weatherfield has its own council, hospital and police force, yet Salford City Council bins adorn its set, and even the bus stop maps show it as part of the wider city.

A recent post on X/Twitter from a Corrie tour guide show the fictional tram stop, on Victoria Street, as being near to the main campus of Salford University.

Is the Granada Studios Tour still operative?

https://www.instagram.com/p/C3iP_5AoXen/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

In February, Peter Ash, who plays Paul Foreman, shared a sweet throwback pic of him visiting the Street with family in the late 80s .

Due to the popularity of their programmes, Granada Television launched their very own studios tour in 1988, which allowed fans to walk the hallowed cobbles. There was a variety of other attractions on site, including a New York themed street, a recreation of Downing Street and a 3D cinema.

It was an epic day out, with the star attraction being able to sup a pint of Newton and Ridley best bitter in a licensed replica of the Rovers Return. Using a chroma-key (green screen) back drop, you could also film your very own scene with Betty Turpin (Betty Driver) and Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs).

By 1999, following a disastrous installation of Skytrak, the world’s first flying roller coaster that very quickly was put out of operation, and amid falling visitor numbers, it was decided to close the GST.

This allowed ITV to expand the Coronation Street set again to include Victoria Street, and for the next fifteen years it was impossible to snap a selfie outside of The Kabin or pose in front of the factory.

However, with the soap relocating in 2014, it was decided to throw open the doors for one last hurrah before the studios were redeveloped.

Bill Tarmey and Liz Dawn as Jack and Vera opening up the Granada Studios Tour

Guests who visited prior to closure in December 2015 could tour dressing rooms, see famous props and costumes from across the years and walk around a studio, which featured a number of interior sets.

One of these was of course, the pub, and once again superfans could pretend to pull a pint before walking out onto the backlot set and exploring it to their heart’s content.

Can I visit the current Coronation Street studios?

Roy's Rolls set at the Coronation Street Experience

You’re in luck – yes! As I mentioned earlier, a dedicated visitor experience has been built on site at the current studios, and is open to guests 7 days a week.

Be warned though, there are 3 separate experiences which vary in price, and in what you can see on the day. It’s also a completely different experience to the Granada Studios Tour, so if you popped by in the 90s or 10 years ago, you might want to check it out again.

Not only that, but last year the experience grew to include a cinema and exhibition.

Coronation Street Experience ticket differences

  • £7.50 weekday experience: This includes access to the cinema and exhibition floor, where you can pose behind the bar of the Rovers Return and see costumes and props. There is also a gift shop and café on site.
  • £35 to £38 weekend tour and experience: All of the above is included in this ticket, but you also get a guided tour of the show’s exterior backlot set, which isn’t open to visitors during the week.
  • £55 weekend star tour and experience: If you fancy splashing the cash, you can do all of the above, plus meet a member of cast at the end of your tour for a selfie and an autograph.

If you plan on having a nosey at the set on a weekday, you’ll find that access to the backlot is off limits due to filming commitments. However, you can still watch a highlights reel of classic moments, plus marvel at old props and costumes from years gone by.

There’s also replicas of the Rovers Return, Roy’s Rolls and No. 9 Coronation Street, home to the Dobbs family.

Whilst no real beer will come out of the taps as you pretend to pull a pint, as the former duty manager of the experience, I can confirm that this is an avenue that operators Continuum Attractions have planned to explore for quite some time – so keep an eye out.

You’ll still get plenty of time for your pictures and to nosey through letterboxes though and some extra minutes on Coronation Street itself.

It should also be noted that the tours do not include access to the six interior studios, but some of the external buildings, such as Prima Doner, are actually used for filming and are open for visitors.

The final option, if you fancy adding a bit of showbiz sparkle to your weekends, are the star tours. You’ll get the full works for £55, plus a short meet and greet at the end with one of the cast members, who will pose for a photo and sign an autograph.
