Neon Mixtape TourRFL

Neon Mixtape Tour is the 9th world in Plants vs. Zombies 2: Reflourished . It contains 42 levels, including 10 expansion levels, 8 plants to unlock, and 18 zombies to encounter.

Neon Mixtape Tour takes place sometime in the 1980s, a decade in music history easily characterized by the heavy usage of electronic synthesizers. Many genres in this time also either became popular, were reaching peak popularity, or were experiencing a resurgence, examples of which include but are not limited to: synth-pop, post-punk, heavy metal, hip-hop, and R&B.

The main gimmick of the world are Jams . Certain zombies and grid items from this world will only activate their abilities when their prefered jam is playing (i.e. Punk Zombie will kick plants during punk jam). The jam playing can change throughout the level, and can be interrupted by Boombox Zombie .

World Description [ ]

Stock up on hairspray and rewind to the 1980s! With synthesized music and voraciously radical zombies, this heinous party will, like, totally tax you to the MAX!

*Prizes that are not money bags are unlocked only first time.

Brain Busters [ ]

Special delivery [ ].

Special Delivery is a Brain Buster featuring a conveyor belt, with said conveyor belt being the only way to recieve plants. No sun is needed in this Brain Buster, as plants given by the conveyor belt are free of charge. Certain levels may have a hard limit for a specific plant, and the frequency of each plant appearing can vary depending on the level.

It is played on Days 3 , 6 , 10 , 19 , 22 , 27 , 35 and 39 .

Locked and Loaded [ ]

Locked and Loaded is a Brain Buster here the player is forced to use the plants given in the level. They are only required to use the plants given to them in order to win the level. Even if certain plants given in the level have yet to be unlocked, the player still has the ability to use that plant within the level itself. This can serve as a demo for that plant if that ever manages to happen.

It is played on Days 9 , 14 , 31 , 34 and 38 .

Last Stand [ ]

Last Stand is a Brain Buster where the player is given an extreme amount of sun and a limited amount of Plant Food to use for the entire level. The player must set up a strong defense beforehand before advancing. Most free plants and all sun-producing plants are banned in these levels, and any more Plant Food is not handed out throughout the level, though certain levels may have at least one carrier of it in it.

It is played on Days 13 and 24 .

Save Our Seeds [ ]

Save Our Seeds is a Brain Buster where the player is tasked to protect a number of endangered plants throughout the entire level. Getting one of the endangered plants destroyed in any way (i.e. eaten, crushed, etc.), or activated in the case of plants such as Potato Mine or Lava Guava , will result in a loss for the player.

It is played on Days 6 , 15 , 26 , 37 and 15 .

Greatest Hits [ ]

Greatest Hits is Neon Mixtape Tour's Endless Zone. It is unlocked after beating Neon Mixtape Tour - Day 20 . The player can practice and hone their skills in surviving level after level of endless zombies. As the player progresses deeper into the Endless Zone, the metal jam may start to play for as early as the second wave, spawning Hair Metal Gargantuars alongside it.

Zombot Multi-stage Masher [ ]

The player must fight Dr. Zomboss in the Neon Mixtape Tour jamming on the Zombot Multi-stage Masher, and later on, its upgraded version. It can summon almost every zombie found in this world. Plants in these levels are only given to the player by a conveyor belt. The Zombot Multi-stage Masher itself can attack the player's plants in two ways. One is by dropping speakers onto the lawn, usually targeting plants. The other is by sending out sonic blasts from the speakers, tossing every plant and zombie away from the lawn.

It is fought at Days 32 and 42 .

Neon Mixtape Tour - Day 30

Neon Mixtape Tour - Day 30 is the thirtieth level of Neon Mixtape Tour in Plants vs. Zombies 2 . In order to win this level, the player will have to survive without having more than 15 plants at a time. After completing this level, the player receives a money bag .

  • 1 Difficulty
  • 3.1.1 Procedure
  • 3.2 Strategy 3: One plant can have so much firepower without being so expensive nor being instant....
  • 5 Walkthrough
  • The combination of Arcade Zombies , Breakdancer Zombies , MC Zom-Bs , and Hair Metal Gargantuars makes this level very hard with the additional 15-plant limit.
  • Instants, like Cherry Bomb and Jalapeno work good in this level because they can destroy clusters of zombies and work well for the 15-plant limit.
  • Watch out for MC Zom-Bs and Arcade Zombies, as MC Zom-Bs appear early in this level and Arcade Zombies can summon additional 8-Bit Zombies which might force the players to plant more plants and reach the plant limit.

This strategy can make the player easily pass the level without the use of lawn mowers, Power Ups, or extra Plant food.

  • Bowling Bulb
  • Primal Potato Mine  (from Jurassic Marsh )
  • Cherry Bomb
  • Gold Bloom  (premium)
  • Chard Guard
  • At the start of the level, place Gold Bloom and three to four Sunflowers.
  • The rap jam will play right when the level starts, so use Bowling Bulb to defeat the MC Zom-Bs and the Breakdancer Zombies . If the Bowling Bulbs are not enough, try using Primal Potato Mine to get some of the early hordes of Bucketheads, Breakdancers, and MC Zom-B's out.
  • When the Punk Zombies start to arrive, you should have a full column of Bowling Bulbs in the back. If you do not and right now you do not have enough sun, try using Primal Potato Mine or Cherry Bomb to explode the up. Thyme Warp is also an alternative.
  • The Boombox Zombies will arrive at that point. Use a Primal Potato Mine to bash them, or if they already are playing their boombox, then Thyme Warp them back.
  • Use Cherry Bomb immediately when the Arcade Zombies start to arrive . This prevents you from dealing with the extra 8-Bit Zombies .
  • At the second flag, a Hair Metal Gargantuar will arrive on the middle row. At that point, put Plant Food on the Bowling Bulb in the middle. That should deal some damage to the Gargantuar. When he throws his Imppunk , use Chard Guard to knock the Imp back so the Imp does not affect your defenses. Use Primal Potato Mine to kill him after he throws his Imp.
  • Glitter Zombies will come between the second and third flag. Plant extra Bowling Bulbs if necessary to deal with them. Or, just use Cherry Bomb or Primal Potato Mine.
  • At the third and final flag, two Hair Metal Gargantuars will come on the first row and the second row. Use Plant Food on Bowling Bulb again, and right when they throw their Imps, Thyme Warp them back . While the Gargantuars and Imps are still getting warped back, place Primal Potato Mine. Then, the two Hair Metal Gargantuars will get exploded.
  • AND . . . . YOU WIN! How about that!

Magnifying Grass makes a great plant to use in other Neon Mixtape Tour Days, and this is no exception.

There is no need to use plant food here, and mower launch is not necessary if you get lucky.

Plants required: Sun-Shroom, Magnifying Grass, Thyme Warp, Cherry Bomb, stalling plants (e.g. stunion, stallia).

Plant 8 Sun-shrooms (If level 3+) or 9 if not in the first 2 columns. Plant Magnifying Grass in the third column. It is recommended to immediately destroy arcade machines and boombox zombies, but other zombies can wait until they get close. You can use thyme warp in the second and third flag and then use cherry bomb, preferable on clusters on zombies because using it on gargantuars will cause them to throw their imps.

Strategy 3: One plant can have so much firepower without being so expensive nor being instant....

Made by Dynamoog

Note: This strategy is used with plant food being used optionally nor using premium content. The point of this strategy is to use Magnifying Grass to take out the threatening zombies.

  • To start off: You need the following plants. Below plants listed are obtainable before this level due to the forced linear order you are now supposed to play at some point.

Twin Sunflower2.png

  • Start placing sun shrooms.
  • When Zombies come, place a Stallia/Iceberg Lettuce to stall them to make the wave last longer and get more sun, then placing 1/2/3 (Depends on how lucky you are) Magnifying Glass and try to kill them.
  • You should have atleast 5 sun shrooms and 1 twin sunflower, place more of them if you don't think you're in danger.
  • Remember to use cherry bomb wisely, mostly on arcades because they can be very annoying.
  • Use Thyme Warp if too many zombies are coming. Also this mostly happens when theres arcades on the board. So get some breathing time and get sun to try and take those out while Thyme Warp is delaying the zombies.
  • If a gargantuar comes, ALWAYS ALWAYS remember there are other zombies on the other rows, you might accidentally get your magnifying glass bitten if you focus on the gargantuar.
  • At that point, you should be winning now on the last wave. But not every strategy can gurantee a win, so play carefully.

Chief Keef Enters Legendary Status With ‘Almighty So 2’

By Jeff Ihaza

When Chief Keef released his mixtape Almighty So in 2013, Obama was still president and the then-18-year-old Chicago MC was something of a symbol for street violence, viral fame, and rap’s new cacophonous young generation. The tape, while far from a critical darling, solidified Keef, who’d risen to fame with his hit single “Don’t Like,” released when he was just 16, as a moment-defining talent. Fast forward more than a decade, two presidents, and a “vibe shift” later and Keef, now 29, has begun to age gracefully into an elder statesman of the genre. His latest, the long-awaited Almighty So 2, is a polished and refined distillation of the sound Keef brought into the mainstream and, especially at this moment, feels like a bold declaration of a changing of the guard.

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, dj akademiks sued for rape and defamation, j.k. rowling used to want to debate gender. now she just insults trans people, detroit newspaper mourns 'tortured existence' of eminem's slim shady in obituary, the number one song in the country is a diss track. is that a good thing.

The most striking element of Almighty So 2 , and Chief Keef’s career at this moment, is his emotional progression. Keef’s greatest skill, even as he came onto the scene at age 14, was his ability to translate exactly what he was feeling. At the time, that meant plenty of rage. Regret doesn’t linger in the background of Keef’s more grown-up bars, but you can hear the weight of experience — both good and bad. On “Believe,” Keef takes stock of his journey to this moment. With distance from his old life, he reflects candidly: “Smart as shit, most of the time had to be an evil kid,” he raps. There’s a strong case to be made for Keef as the most influential rapper of his generation. Throughout Almighty So 2 , we get both the bravado of Keef stepping into that role and the recognition of the toll of success.

Dialogue [ ]

( Crazy Dave and Penny appear) Crazy Dave: Say, Penny, do you think Intensive Carrots can be used to revive defeated plants? Penny: That's... that's exactly correct, User Dave. Penny: Sorry. It just confuses me when you pay attention. (Crazy Dave and Penny leave)

Difficulty [ ]

Let the Punk Zombies kick back the Spore-shrooms or else other zombies like MC Zom-B will kill the Spore-shrooms very easily. At the end, the Hair Metal Gargantuar is very harmless, as it always spawns in the center row. However, this doesn't mean it shouldn't be taken out. It can still easily plow through defenses, especially if multi-lane attacking plants are being used. However, if the player has a piece of Plant Food , they can use a straight-shooting plant such as Repeater to defeat it. The player should not let MC Zom-Bs get far if they kill the Punk Zombies at first. Another option is to let Breakdancer Zombies kick other zombies, then use Blover or Hurrikale to blow them away, instantly killing them. Arcade Zombies , themselves, are not a threat, since the player should be able to defeat them while their jam plays. However, the player should always be aware of their arcade machines, as the large density of 8-Bit Zombies can easily cause a game over.

Strategies [ ]

Strategy 1 [ ].

This strategy can beat the level without Plant Food, premium content, gemium plants, or losing any lawn mowers.

  • Sunflower or Sun-shroom
  • Magnet-shroom
  • Celery Stalker
  • Cherry Bomb

Fill up the first two columns with sun-producing plants. As the first Conehead Zombie appears, let it reach the third column, then stop it with a Stunion and kill it with a Celery Stalker. Let the Punk Zombies shove the endangered Spore-shrooms and be killed by them. If need be, though unlikely, dig up plants behind them if they are about to be kicked off out the lawn. After they are dead, a Buckethead Zombie will enter the center lane. Let him reach where the Conehead was killed and kill him with the same Stunion-Celery Stalker combo, however, do NOT remove his bucket with a Magnet-shroom. This will delay the coming zombie hordes as long as possible.

Once the first Huge Wave hits, start planting Magnet-shrooms next to every Spore-shroom, Snapdragons in every free space ahead of the plants, and Celery Stalkers in front of the Snapdragons (optimally one full tile ahead of them). Magnet-shrooms can go behind or in front of the Spore-shrooms, however, if the Punk Zombies somehow did not succeed in pushing the Spore-shrooms far, they will need to go behind them. Snapdragons will double as offense and defense, and combined with free Spore-shrooms and Celery Stalkers ahead of them, and Magnet-shrooms behind them, the zombies will have difficulty advancing. The center lane should be clogged with surplus Magnet-shrooms and Snapdragons. Thyme Warp can be used to buy extra time in the early waves and foil the Arcade Zombies and 8-Bit Zombies .

During the later waves, a large force of Breakdancer Zombies and MC Zom-Bs will appear. Use a Cherry Bomb immediately to kill most of them; the survivors will not be able to get through all the chaos and plants in the way even if an MC Zom-B is kicked forward into the Snapdragons. For the final wave and Gargantuar, use a Thyme Warp to group all the zombies together, then kill the Gargantuar and everyone around him with a Stunion-Cherry Bomb-Celery Stalker combo and mop up the remaining zombies. If you use Plant Food with this strategy, the Snapdragons in the middle lanes will destroy most everything by themselves.

Strategy 2 [ ]

Sun-shroom2

This strategy focuses on holding back the zombies until you can use Spring Bean PF effect and Blover Combo. Keep in mind that using Blover to blow away zombies bounced by Spring Bean requires you to time it properly, otherwise, the zombies will just be pushed back.

Starting off, commence planting two rows of Sun-Shrooms in the last two columns. Pay no attention to the Conehead Zombie until he reaches the fourth column. When he does reach the fourth column, plant a Primal Wall-nut on the third column and proceed to kill him with Ghost Pepper. By now, the punk music should start playing and Punk Zombies should come. Ignore the Punk Zombies and let the Spore-shrooms kill them, so the Spore-shrooms could be kicked back to the fourth column. The Buckethead Zombie in the middle row can be simply be killed by Spring Bean and Blover.

Next is the most simplest yet most stressful part of it: keeping the zombies away from the Spore-shroom. But before doing anything else, plant Primal Peashooters behind the endangered Spore-shrooms and Primal Wall-Nuts in front of the spawned Spore-shroom. These should prevent zombies from killing the Spore-shrooms.

First part is the rap music. Make sure ALL the zombies come out on the lawn, then use Thyme Warp to send them to the back of the lawn. When you see the white outlines of the zombies, place the Blover on the lawn. The zombies get pushed by the Breakdancer Zombies and get blown away from the Blover. This should immediately start the pop music.

Pop music is also easy. Place Ghost Pepper on the lane with the Glitter Zombie holding the Plant Food . This will again, immediately start the next music, which is 8-bit.

This part is relatively hard, but possible. With the Plant Food you got from the Glitter Zombie, wait until five arcade cabinets and two Arcade Zombies are on the lawn, then put Plant Food on the Spring Bean and use Blover. This will again, start the next music.

Do the same thing as before: use Thyme Warp then kill the zombies with Blover while the rap music plays, starting the metal music. The Gargantuar will start coming in the middle lane, but prioritize the incoming zombies. Using Blover, you can hold back the horde, as Blover can blow away zombies pushed by Primal Peashooter's pea. Killing the Gargantuar comes last. To defeat it, place a Spring Bean under it and quickly place a Blover. This should kill it quickly. If you fail to defeat it, use the Primal Wall-Nut to stall it until Spring Bean is available and you can retry the trick.

Strategy 3 [ ]

  • Primal Sunflower (boosted)
  • Primal Peashooter (boosted)
  • Endurian (boosted)
  • When the level starts, plant a whole column of your boosted Primal Sunflowers.
  • Knock back any zombies that come with your boosted Primal Peashooters.
  • Place your boosted Endurians in front of the endangered Spore-shrooms .
  • Take down Arcade Zombies and the spawned 8-Bit Zombies down with Celery Stalker.
  • MC Zom-Bs are a threat and should be dealt with immediately with your boosted Primal Peashooter.
  • A Hair Metal Gargantuar might appear in the Final Flag. If you do not want to deal with him youself, just let the lawn mower do its job (unless there's no lawnmower because then you have to DIY).

Strategy 4 [ ]
