  • A copy of your CNIC
  • A copy of the first two pages of your passport
  • Two passport-sized photographs (White Background)

  • A valid return ticket to Dubai for your travel dates

Your passport must be valid for 6 months at the time of application. All visa fees are non-refundable.

Processing Time for a Tourist Visa to Dubai

While most visa applications for Dubai are processed within 4 to 5 days, it is recommended that you apply at least a week before your travel plans to avoid any unforeseen delays.

How and Where to Apply for a Visit Visa to Dubai

Dubai’s tourist visa application can only be processed by specific travel agents and airlines. Some of the airlines that can help you get a tourist visa to Dubai include:

  • Etihad Airways
  • Emirates Airline

As for travel agents, we recommend going with the ones that boast the best reputation.

Reaching Dubai from Pakistan

You can visit Dubai via three major airlines

Emirates, Etihad, and Fly Dubai are the three major carriers of the UAE, offering their services at different price points for you to travel to Dubai from Pakistan. From luxurious to bare-bones, these airlines cover every base, with Fly Dubai being the cheapest option. Between the other two, Emirates is headquartered in Dubai, while the neighbouring emirate of Abu Dhabi is home to Etihad. So, if you choose Etihad, you’ll need to plan for a ride to get to Dubai from Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Best Time to Visit Dubai

The United Arab Emirates has a desert climate where summer days are hot and humid, while winter nights are pretty cold. Accordingly, people prefer to visit the region in the colder months of the year, between November to February. Considering the influx of visitors during this time, Dubai hosts a grand shopping festival called Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and the Global Village during these months.

Cost of Flying from Pakistan to Dubai

Since December is the peak tourist season, you’ll need to buy tickets well in advance to enjoy cheaper fares while visiting Dubai. Otherwise, it can cost you anywhere between PKR 50,000 and PKR 1 lakh for a round-trip ticket. Prices do tend to go down in the latter half of January, moving even below the PKR 50,000 mark. This could be an incentive for you to delay your holidays for a month or so.

Currency of Dubai

Travel to Dubai from Pakistan with USD or GBP

Dubai uses Dirhams (AED) as its primary currency, although US Dollars (USD) and British Pounds (GBP) are acceptable at the airport until you can find a local currency exchange. As of November 2019:

AED 1 = PKR 42 approximately

Commuting within Dubai

You can easily reach places to visit in Dubai via the Dubai Metro

Dubai has an amazing public transport system in place. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) manages the Metro, Bus, and Water Bus, and you easily pay to ride all of these with the Nol Card. The most basic Nol cards are silver and gold in colour and work like e-purses. The silver one is the most easily available and is ideal for tourists. It costs AED 25, with AED 19 being the useable credit. Once you have a Nol card in hand, you can travel throughout the city using the Metro and its interconnecting RTA buses. The Nol card is easily rechargeable with additional credit at Metro stations and at some bus stations as well.

If you want to travel to an area that is not accessible by public transport, you can always take a taxi to your destination. Please note that a base rate of AED 12 is applicable for all taxi journeys within the city, while a base rate of AED 25 is added to your trip to and from the airport. Also, app-powered ride-hailing services are readily available throughout Dubai.

Processing Duration from Pakistan

The processing time for Dubai visas from Pakistan depends on various factors. Understanding the timeline helps in planning the trip effectively.

Expedited or Urgent Visa Options

For those in urgent need, Dubai offers expedited visa services. Knowing the process and requirements for an urgent visa application streamlines the procedure.

The visas across the various Emirates in the UAE essentially hold no differences. With a visa issued for any of the seven Emirates—Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Qaiwain, Fujairah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah—you gain unrestricted access to all entry points and free movement between Emirates. Regardless of the specific Emirate stated on your visa, it grants full access to explore the entire UAE.

However, entry into the UAE after obtaining the visa is subject to the discretion of UAE authorities at the airports. Despite holding a valid visa, entry can be denied due to various reasons, such as insufficient funds for the visit past instances of deportation, or overstaying during previous visits.

Before departing from a Pakistani airport for Dubai, ensure you have a copy of your Dubai visa readily available—either digitally on your phone or preferably as a well-printed hard copy. Dubai visit visas are typically provided as e-Visas, without physical stickers being applied to the passport.

Upon arrival in the UAE/Dubai on a tourist visa, there’s a new automated immigration process at airports. While initially directed towards automated counters equipped with iris scanners, in most cases, travelers are later guided to manual immigration counters staffed by human personnel to complete the immigration process.

pakistan dubai visit visa

The Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai have announced extended support and services for Pakistani nationals residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the country launches a visa amnesty scheme. The initiative, which began on September 1 and will continue until October 31, 2024, is aimed at helping residents with expired visas legalize their status or return to Pakistan without penalties.

The amnesty scheme, introduced by the UAE government, provides a crucial opportunity for undocumented residents, including tourists and absconders, to regularize their stay or exit the country without facing future travel bans. In response, Pakistani diplomatic missions have adjusted their operations to ensure maximum assistance for the Pakistani community in the UAE.

A statement issued by the Pakistani missions emphasized their commitment to supporting the UAE government's efforts, urging all eligible Pakistani nationals to take full advantage of the amnesty scheme.

Read more: UAE visa amnesty 2024 from Sept 1: All You Need to Know "The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai are extending all possible assistance to Pakistani nationals living in the UAE to ensure that they can benefit fully from the UAE government’s amnesty scheme," the statement read.

To accommodate the expected influx of applicants, the Pakistani missions will remain open on Saturdays until the end of October 2024. Services available include the renewal and issuance of National Identity Cards (NICs), passport processing, attestation services, and the issuance of out-passes or emergency travel documents for those without valid passports.

This move is particularly significant given the large Pakistani diaspora in the UAE. Pakistanis constitute the second-largest expatriate community in the Emirates, with approximately 1.7 million residents. The amnesty scheme is expected to provide much-needed relief to those facing difficulties due to expired visas, allowing them to either regularize their status or return to Pakistan without the burden of legal consequences.

The diplomatic missions reaffirmed their dedication to assisting the Pakistani community during this critical period. "The Embassy and Consulate General of Pakistan remain fully committed to supporting fellow Pakistani community members during this period," the statement concluded.
