My name is Rakan Al Zalabieh. For hundreds of years my ancestors have been traditional Bedouins living in Wadi Rum desert, which I now enjoy sharing with all those people who want to come and experience our culture, lifestyle, and all the beauty that Wadi Rum has to offer.

Rakan providers a wonderful experience. Both the Jeep tour with his cousin and the full day climbing with his brother were extraordinary. The climbing equipment is excellent and as a climbing instructor I can vouch that all the safety procedures are up to spec. Both the night in the camp and the night in a cave were wonderful, with very welcoming and friendly hosts, comfortable beds, and excellent food. Rakan is super fast in responding to emails and WhatsApp messages and flexible to accommodate whatever was needed. Extremely highly recommended!

Thank you so much Rakan, for those 3 days and 3 nights in the desert. We've had a wonderful time and we hope to come back soon ! Everything was perfect : we wanted to walk a lot and have as less time in a jeep as possible and Rakan did its best to take us to hike in many beautiful places. We enjoyed every moment ! The experience of sleeping outside in the caves was something incredible.

I would highly recommend Rakan and his team for experiencing Wadi Rum. Rakan was a very good and clear communicator leading up to our stay, and he and all of his team were also very friendly and welcoming on our arrival/throughout our experiences. We did 2hrs of rock climbing, which we were beginners at, and felt a little apprehensive about especially when we saw the rock face to climb - however our guide was very encouraging and helpful and has us feeling much more confident and comfortable in no time. We also did a half day jeep tour, which was stunning. I thought that maybe after 1 hour we would have seen a lot of the same rocks and sand and 3 more hours might be just more of the same, but there are so many different formations to see, lookout points, canyons to walk through, and we were even shown a Bedouin dam which still had rainwater in it. For us, the dinner was also a highlight as it was truly delicious and it was interesting to see the traditional techniques to make it. Rakan's camp also has a number of interesting books and games which were well used the night we were there. And of course, so many cups of tea! Overall we would not change a thing and had a brilliant time.

This was a great experience! Rakan was fantastic - we booked with him over WhatsApp a few months before our visit, and he was very helpful in arranging everything for our visit. We stayed at his camp for one night. The accommodations were basic and clean (which is what we wanted, a "fancy" experience is not what we were looking for), the shared bathrooms were excellent (clean and well-equipped!), and the dinner was the best meal of the trip. We did a sunset camel ride, rock climbing with Rakan's brother, and a jeep tour - all were amazing. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a more authentic experience!

I stayed in Rakan’s camp for one night which was full of unforgettable moments. Everyone was welcoming and kind. We had the opportunity to eat a traditional beduin dinner which is cooked under the sand, so delicious. After dinner we got together around the fire where we listened to beduin music under the stars. Rakan is a great host, he explained us how to take spectacular pictures of the night sky. My tent was spacious and clean, you will wake up on the set of Star Wars and numerous others movies filmed in Wadi Rum! I recommend this camp to everyone, from children to adults, who is looking for a special and different experience.

Camel Riding

YOU WILL GET TO FEEL LIKE A REAL BEDOUIN WHILE YOU RIDE ON A CAMEL ENJOYING ALL OF THE AMAZING VIEWS THAT WADI RUM DESERT HAS TO OFFER, THE SILENCE, THE NATURE.

Camel ride are something unforgettable. These splendid animals, perfectly adapted to the desert, will amaze you with their strength, agility and speed. This activity is suitable for everyone, including children, and will allow you to discover the desert in a very natural and pleasant way.

Adult rates:

Children’s rates: Same as adults if the child wishes to have his own camel Under 5 years of age, the child must be with an adult. For the last formula, a 4×4 will pick you up in the morning after breakfast to take you back to Wadi Rum village.

It can be difficult to spend a whole day on a camel – so we have the option of including camel rides from 30 minutes to 2 hours as part of our jeep and hiking tours..

Khaled had been a super guide during our 24h trip in the desert. He has been really flexible by adjusting the program to our whishes. The food he cooked was delicious and he also took great pictures of us so that we can keep great souvenirs of that memorable journey nThank you again Khaled !!
