Coming down in a couple weeks. I had recent ankle surgery and will still be limited weight bearing. Il'm looking to avoid having to bring my own knee walker and doing research, The Hip Tourist rants them. Any experience with this company or know of any other company that rents them? Thanks!

I would not hesitate to use them for your rental!

Excellent! Thanks Steps

Reviews about The Hip Tourist

  • Mike P. January 26, 2023, 8:36 pm Needed some baskets for special guests. Kathy did a fantastic job, the guests loved them. She worked Christmas day to be sure they were done — complaints about communication — this is the Keys we are working our behinds off to get the job done, there just aren't enough of us here willing to work. Great Job Kathy!!!!! 0 0 Reply
  • T M. January 19, 2023, 1:07 am I'm so conflicted as I write this review. Trying to decide between a 2 and a 3 star review. Ultimately the gift I sent for my family's anniversary celebration in Key West was well-received and very unique — which is exactly what I was going for. HOWEVER, the communication with Kathy is challenging at best. She seems to be a one-woman show and takes on all tasks but ends up very scattered through the process and has some misses. I gave her my list of “wants” and “wishes” as a starting point f or the gift. She ended up running around and buying a bunch of the stuff — calling me then telling me she was too busy to talk and then she sends a picture of the package as a done deal. Again, very cool and unique. HOWEVER she never gave me an estimate of the cost!!!!! Granted she could produce all of her receipts but still — no estimate and I felt bad about making any changes since she'd already purchased everything. She refuses to provide an invoice — actually makes you feel like you're offending her by asking — but she expects you to provide your credit card number to her over the phone to pay for it. I did get a picture of all the receipts so I guess I shouldn't complain. Cool idea — and a great way to get a unique gift to someone staying in Key West. But whew! It's a crazy ride. … – show 0 0 Reply
  • Lisa N. December 29, 2022, 8:00 pm If you are going to spend a day walking in Key West, go here first. Rent a dog stroller or baby stroller to carry all your stuff. The store owner is so wonderful and will even deliver to you in Key West. Great service and rates. 0 0 Reply
  • Jennifer B. December 2, 2022, 3:43 am I would agree communication is a bit erratic but I felt like the owner did a really great job overall. We needed a jogging stroller and she delivered it and picked it up seamlessly. I think people need to be patient with a small business and understand that the owner is literally hopping all around delivering, picking up and trying to make all the tourists happy. I think there is a lack of organization but like the rest of the world I'm sure she's short staffed. I suggest you be patient and give grace. … – show 0 0 Reply
  • Stephen W. September 26, 2022, 7:15 pm Called Kathy two days ago and still haven’t got any response. Communication is erratic and inconsistent. We used Hip Tourist last year and we’re pleased with the prices but the service/communication is poor. It took her 3—4 weeks to charge my card for the rentals from our vacation last year. We had to break down and buy our own chairs this year and will have to donate them to the Salvation Army before we leave. Completely unprofessional. 0 0 Reply

  • DANA B. June 14, 2022, 9:14 pm Kathy was so great! She was able to put together the perfect gift display for my boss and his wife. She had great ideas and I was glad I trusted her experience and professionalism. Great job! 0 0 Reply
  • Rose S. May 28, 2022, 1:24 am Although I did not rent from this company, the reason being was she was rude when I spoke with her, didn’t return my calls (several), told me to text my info then never responded, and when I tried to email her the mail box was full and my email couldn’t be delivered. She told me I wasn’t special (regarding returning my call when she said she would) and that she was a one-person enterprise. I think she needs to hire some help. I do not recommend using her services. Babyquip.com as seen on Shark Tank, got back to me within hours and was very courteous and pleasant. And their website was quick and easy. … – show 0 0 Reply
  • Toni H. March 9, 2022, 8:49 pm Should have read this reviews first, I can confidently confirm what everyone else said, the lady I just spoke to was rude, passive aggressive and told me all I needed to know, which is the simple fact I would never use them. First impressions are important and I hope they take these reviews seriously in the future if they want any business at all. 0 0 Reply
  • Chip G. February 11, 2022, 10:35 pm Are you kidding me? She is amazing! Look at that! She delivers beauty and happiness. She fills needs in the community. 0 0 Reply
  • Lucas B. February 8, 2022, 6:23 pm The owner's communication skills were terrible. It took me forever (over a month) to communicate with her what I needed. Even when I was finally able to do that, she did not show up to decorate our room until AFTER our check-in time. I had been telling her said date and time for weeks and she guaranteed the service she could provide. I had her decorate while we were at dinner and it looked good once she finally decorated. It then took multiple days to settle payment. I could not get them to send me an itemized bill or invoice. Instead, days later I get a call from her assistant and she read off the cost of everything and asked for a credit card over the phone. Out of eagerness to be rid of communications with this company, I agreed to the charge and gave them my information. The cost seemed WAY overpriced for what I ordered and for the poor quality of service that was provided. I would never reach out to this company again even if it were my only options. The other reviews confirm it was not just me — this is a common theme. … – show 0 0 Reply
  • Tiara February 7, 2022, 7:31 pm I called this company even after reading the negative reviews as I will be visiting key west for the first time and I wanted to decorate our room for my husband's birthday. After reviewing their website, I called. Before I could even fully explain what I wanted she immediately tried to refer me to someone else and told me how she is sooo busy and basically treated me as if my business wasn't important. Didn't explain what she could provide that would meet my needs as an alternative and let me ma ke the decision. Instead, she talked on and on. Went on to tell me about other vendors and how some won't even talk to you unless you are spending a certain amount of money. I guess perhaps she read my voice and decided how she would treat me. It's a real shame that people have been in business so long and still don't really know what customer service is. Totally bad representation of the “small town” as she referred to it. If my experience in Key West is anything like her, I am not looking forward to this trip. … – show 0 0 Reply
  • Amber S. December 4, 2021, 5:37 pm As mentioned by everyone else, don’t even waste your time. I read the reviews before hand and thought maybe it would work out anyway, and it did not. Cathy took my information, request, credit card info etc and never fulfilled the request. Incredibly disappointing as we were celebrating a 30th birthday. Would have rather been told “no I can’t do it I’m understaffed” so I could’ve found an alternative. 0 0 Reply
  • James W. November 29, 2021, 9:58 pm When I called the person who answered the phone was in the middle of helping a customer. I left my name, number and requested a call back. After a day passed I called back and the same thing happened. The person that answered the phone was in the middle of a conversation helping a customer. I left my name and number and requested a call back. A few more days went by so I called again and the same thing happened. The person was in the middle of helping a customer. This time I was assured a called back and was politely told that I should understand that mornings were their busy time of day. I was once again assured a call back once the person made it back to the store. I AM STILL WAITING!!! … – show 0 0 Reply

  • ebony r. October 20, 2021, 10:41 pm If I could give this woman no stars I would. She is the most rudest person I've ever spoken to. She doesn't allow you to speak. She continues to tell you how busy she is and trying to get to everyone which is her excuse for not returning emails and calls. I must have reached out to her several times this week and each time I had to go over what I wanted EVERY time. She promised to call me back once she got to her office but literally 4 hours has passed and I had to be the one to reach out to her . I told her how rude and unprofessional she was being and not one time did she apologize. I'm totally shocked she's still in business from her ride demeanor and how horrible she is with communication. I literally had to hand up on her because she was not interested in hearing my concerns. I'm so glad I didn't go with this so called business. She had the nerve to tell me “oh I understand how frustrating this is for me but it's even more frustrating for me because you're not the one in this chair doing it”. Like what!!! The owner said sure, but was in the middle of something and was to call me back when she got back to her desk. Never got a call back, so I called and left msg. Still no callback, so I called the next morning. 15 Things to Do in Santa Clara (CA)

Santa Clara is a city of nearly 125,000 residents that’s located in Santa Clara County, about 75 kilometers south of San Francisco .

The city was founded more than 200 years ago as a Spanish Mission. Now, it’s most well-known for its booming tech industry that’s commonly referred to around the world as Silicon Valley.

Though it’s common knowledge to most football fans, it’s a surprise to many to discover that the relatively small city is also the home of the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers.

Visitors to Santa Clara have abundant activity options at their fingertips without venturing outside city limits, so staying engaged and entertained shouldn’t be an issue.

1. Levi’s Stadium

Levi's Stadium

With a capacity of nearly 70,000, Levi’s Stadium on Marie P. DeBartolo Way in Santa Clara is one of the country’s premier professional football stadiums.

The 49ers play their home games here, and during the off-season, the stadium hosts a variety of annual events, including concerts featuring big names in the music industry.

Taking a family to a football game isn’t the least expensive activity option in the area, but for those who’ve never taken in a pro game, it’s an exhilarating experience that may be worth the cost.

Guided tours are also regularly available, and the bars and restaurants around the stadium are fun to visit year-round.

2. Ulistac Natural Area

Ulistac Natural Area

Despite its large population and the overall hustle and bustle, the Bay Area features plenty of urban parks and natural areas that are convenient options for those interested in enjoying the great outdoors.

The Ulistac Natural Area is located on Lick Mill Road in Santa Clara. It is comprised of more than 40 acres that include a variety of distinct environments.

The natural area straddles the Guadalupe River and is home to an array of plants and animals that are well-suited to its riparian habitat.

A particularly popular attraction for bird watchers, it features a number of well-marked nature trails dotted with interpretive signs.

3. Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival

Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival

Californians take their art and wine seriously, and there’s no better way to combine the two than by visiting the Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival.

The event is held in the city’s Central Park and features nearly 200 vendors from across the country selling fine art and crafts, gourmet food, and a vast selection of California’s best wines.

Proceeds are donated to worthwhile causes that benefit residents in need. It all takes place in the early fall when the central California weather is perfect for outdoor activities.

Other highlights include live entertainment and lots of art-related activities for kids.

4. The de Saisset Museum

de Saisset Museum

Though he’s not exactly a household name for those who don’t typically travel in West Coast art circles, Ernest de Saisset was one of the Bay Area’s most prominent artists in the 19th century.

Saisset was a French immigrant who enrolled in Santa Clara University and studied painting as a young man.

The museum that now bears his name is located on the university’s campus. It includes a collection of more than 100 of his most impressive works.

It’s as much a historical attraction as it is an art one, and it also has other works from European and American artists dating back hundreds of years.

5. Intel Museum

Intel Museum

Intel is one of the titans of the tech world. Over the years, it has been responsible for some of the most significant technological leaps forward in computer hardware.

The Intel Museum is located on the campus of the company’s world headquarters in Santa Clara, and it’s regularly open to the public.

Even for those who don’t fall into the tech-savvy category, it’s a fascinating place that’s definitely worth an hour or two of time.

Though it may sound dry to technophobes, it’s packed with interactive exhibits for visitors of all ages, so it’s great for kids with short attention spans too.

6. Santa Clara Farmers’ Market

Farmers Market

There’s really no better way to rub elbows with locals, enjoy pleasant weather, and have access to tons of great products you won’t find elsewhere than by visiting a farmers’ market.

The Santa Clara Farmers’ Market is open year-round and features a little bit of everything – from seasonal produce and fresh baked goods to health and body products and prepared food items.

Held on Jackson Street near the downtown area, it’s common to find different items each time you go.

Spending a few bucks is a great way to support local farmers and entrepreneurs, and don’t be shy about asking them for suggestions for things to see and do while in town.

7. California’s Great America

California's Great America

There’s no shortage of theme parks in the Golden State, but there’s one clear choice for those visiting Santa Clara.

California’s Great America is located on Great America Parkway just outside of town. It features tons of rides, dining options, kid’s activities, and a water park that’s a huge draw during the hot summer months.

Though Great America can really draw a crowd during peak times when kids are enjoying their summer vacations, previous guests have noted that wait times for rides weren’t overly long.

Many families choose to spend an entire day on-site to avoid wasting valuable recreational time in the car.

8. Mission Santa Clara

Mission Santa Clara

Mission Santa Clara is one of the city’s premier historic sites, and it’s now conveniently located on the campus of Santa Clara University.

The mission was established by Franciscans in the 1770s to spread Christianity to the area’s Native American population.

Sadly, things didn’t go according to plan; due to several natural disasters, the mission was forced to move from its original site to where it is now.

Over the years, it was also run by the Jesuits. Though it’s no longer functioning in its original role, it now doubles as a museum and chapel that are open to visitors.

9. The Triton Museum of Art

Triton Museum of Art

Though guests tend to visit the Triton Museum of Art for the works in its collection, its stunning contemporary architecture usually makes a big impression as well.

The museum’s collection includes works from all over the country, but its emphasis is on pieces created by Bay Area artists using local people and scenery as inspiration.

The grounds also include a sprawling outdoor sculpture garden spread over nearly seven acres, and a home from the mid-1860s that’s among the most well-preserved examples of historic American architecture in the area.

The museum is located on Warburton Avenue, and most visitors spend a few hours on-site.

10. Santa Clara Players

The Santa Clara Players traces its roots all the way back to the early ‘60s, when a group of local performers began putting on small shows for the community.

Now nearly seven decades later, they’re still going strong. Their annual performances run the gamut from dramatic theater and mystery to satire and humor.

The players are part of a community theater group staffed by talented volunteers dedicated to providing high-quality, family-friendly entertainment at a reasonable cost.

They’re located on Don Avenue in Santa Clara and offer lots of volunteer opportunities for budding actors and stagehands.

11. Central Park

Santa Clara Central Park

Featuring lots of wide-open spaces and massive swimming and community rec centers, Santa Clara’s Central Park is a go-to destination for activity minded visitors looking to make the most of their limited vacation time without traveling to more distant attractions.

The park is centrally located on Keily Boulevard, has ample parking, and features lots of outdoor amenities and recreational activity options.

From tennis and basketball to softball, lawn bowling, and a big playground, there’s really no excuse for getting bored while on-site. For those looking to spend a relaxing afternoon, there are a lake, built-in BBQs, and public restrooms.

Originally, it reached seven stories in height; however, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake did some damage. The house now stands at four stories.

During a total of the home’s 38 years of construction, Sarah’s belief that the house was haunted by those who had been killed by a Winchester rifle led her to have her house built without the direction of an architect.

As such, there are numerous peculiarities in the construction such as stairways and doors leading nowhere.

Two slayings rocked Atlanta's hip-hop scene a decade ago. Only one has been solved.

Onyx Nightclub in Atlanta.

Two killings connected to Atlanta’s club scene shook the city’s hip-hop community a decade ago. One was solved. But the fatal shooting of one of Atlanta’s most influential DJs was not, and his death continues to haunt friends and infuriate relatives.

William Fernando Barnes — who went by DJ Nando — was known for helping launch the careers of local rap stars. But the last time Yolanda Beasley saw her younger brother, he was in tears in the backyard of the rural Virginia home where they grew up.

Barnes believed someone was after him, Beasley recalled him saying at the Christmas Eve 2013 gathering at their mother’s home, and he needed to “get away from them.”

When she pressed Barnes on what he meant, he responded, “They don’t mean me no good,” she recalled.

For more on the slaying of the wife of an Atlanta DJ, tune in to "Sound and Fury" on "Dateline" at 9 ET/8 CT tonight.

Three weeks after that ominous exchange, early on Jan. 14, Barnes, 38, was gunned down in his driveway in a quiet Atlanta suburb. Roughly 10 months later, on the morning of Nov. 23, the wife of another DJ who worked at the same venue as Barnes — Club Onyx — was fatally shot in a manner the detective who investigated the case described as an “execution.”

The killings stunned the city’s club scene — and Barnes’ death marked the end of an era for Atlanta hip-hop, as one music writer put it . But the fatal shooting of Tiffany Jackson Pugh was solved: Weeks after her death, her husband, Andre Pugh — known as DJ Awesome — was charged with murder after authorities said he asked a close friend to carry out the killing.

The pair denied the allegations but were convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Yet no suspects have been publicly identified in Barnes’ killing.

“Everybody remembers January 14th,” Nick Love, a DJ who worked with Barnes, told “Dateline.” “And we still don’t have any concrete answers. It’s crazy.”

“I want my brother’s killer to be caught,” Beasley told NBC News. “My mother needs closure. Our family needs peace. We need justice.”

Capt. John Ivey of the Clayton County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division did not respond to a detailed list of questions about Barnes’ killing, but he told “Dateline” that he was assigning a detective to review the case. Detectives who investigated the killing in 2014 did not respond to requests for comment, nor did a department spokesperson.

‘King among kings’

Beasley, 63, recalled her brother as a typical country kid who grew up in a small town north of Richmond, Virginia, and spent his time fishing, playing ball and riding bikes with friends. He was also a gifted tinkerer: He once built a go-kart out of a broken-down lawn mower.

Barnes didn’t get into music until he’d moved to Atlanta in his early 20s and began working at an auto detailing shop. There, he saw people selling mix CDs from the trunks of their cars or backpacks, Beasley said, and became intrigued with the club scene.

Eventually, she said, he began buying secondhand equipment, teaching himself to DJ and selling his own CDs from a rented house in the Atlanta suburbs.

“He learned everything — every skill — by listening and watching others,” said Beasley, who also lived in Atlanta at the time.

William Fernando Barnes, also known as DJ Nando.

Barnes’ talent landed him a gig DJing at one of Atlanta’s strip clubs. These were the venues where aspiring rappers trying to get their music heard had long sought the attention of the DJ — the gatekeeper who could make or break a career.

By 2008, said Love, who managed a crew that Barnes belonged to, Barnes had become a “king among kings” — a DJ known for his gift of gab, his booming, customized sound system and his ability to draw massive crowds flush with cash.

“He made everybody feel like stars,” rapper Jeezy told “Dateline.” “He made these guys that’s coming out of these hoods and these ghettos and coming out of these dire situations — he made them believe in themselves.”

Barnes was also known for his integrity. Though artists paid DJs to play their music, Love recalled, Barnes demanded excellence.

“Everybody knew that even if you had $20, $50, $100, whatever the case may be, Nando would look at your music, pop it in his headphones, and if it wasn’t poppin’, he hand you your money back,” Love said.

While trying to establish himself in the early 2000s, Jeezy said he set his sights on getting Barnes to play his music. Initially, Jeezy recalled, Barnes’ reviews of his material were brutally honest: “He used to call me, like, ‘This is whack, this is terrible, figure it out.’”

Eventually, Jeezy said, he did, in a collaboration with DJ Drama — “Trap or Die,” released nearly two decades ago — that Barnes played in its entirety at another strip club, Magic City. The mixtape transformed Jeezy’s life, catapulting him from the streets to a career that took him far beyond Atlanta.

“He literally, single-handedly saved my life,” Jeezy said. “He put me in a position to do something that I loved to do, and to make a living out of it.”

A death captured on video

Beasley’s phone rang before dawn on Jan. 14. 2014. It was her brother’s girlfriend, who was with a detective who delivered gut-wrenching news: Barnes had been fatally shot in front of his home in Morrow, roughly 15 miles south of Atlanta.

Beasley, who had moved back to Virginia four years before, immediately drove to Georgia. In those first days, she said, her time was spent dealing with the grim logistics of death — identifying her brother’s body, helping make funeral arrangements, sorting out his affairs.

It wasn’t until a few weeks later, she said, that she provided police with details of the Christmas Eve conversation. When she’d pressed Barnes for names of the people who he said he needed to get away from, he’d provided them, and she said she shared them with investigators.

Ivey, of the Clayton County Police Department, did not respond to requests for comment.

Later, Beasley said, investigators asked her to review video of the shooting. The clips had been pulled from her brother’s security system, she said, and investigators wanted to know if she recognized the gunman.

Beasley agreed to watch the video as long as it was shut off before the shooter pulled the trigger, she said. The cameras captured a man casually walking down the middle of the street toward Barnes’ home at the end of a cul-de-sac, she said.

“He does not hesitate looking around, like, I need to see where I can go,” she recalled. “This guy is walking straight to Fernando’s house.”

Beasley said she didn’t recognize the gunman, who had a hood pulled over his head. When he got to Barnes’ home, she said, he walked down the driveway and positioned himself behind bushes.

It was raining, she said, and the gunman remained hidden for a few hours.

Barnes arrived home around 3 or 4 a.m., she said, parked and took some equipment inside. Authorities told her what happened next, she said: When her brother came back outside, the man emerged from the bushes and ran up behind him.

Beasley didn’t recall if the video had audio and the man could be heard saying anything before he put a gun to Barnes’ head and pulled the trigger.

Afterward, Beasley recalled the investigators saying, the gunman walked away.

Losing ‘a good one’

The impact of Barnes’ death rippled across Atlanta, but it hit the club scene especially hard, Love said. Barnes wasn’t tied up in street business, he said, so people assumed his death was somehow connected to his work. Perhaps he hadn’t played someone’s music and they’d held a grudge, Love said. Or maybe Barnes had made a joke about someone who wasn’t in a joking mood, he said.

“We know so many people in this city that are tied up in one thing or another — involved with dangerous people, involved in dangerous businesses,” he said. “Nando wasn’t one of ‘em. So for the city as a whole, it’s like, ‘Oh, y’all took a good one away from us.’”

Tiffany Pugh.

Then, on Nov. 23, Tiffany Jackson Pugh was fatally shot in East Point, just south of Atlanta. She was in bed and had been shot once in the chest and once in the head at close range, according to Allyn Glover, the now-retired East Point police detective who investigated the killing.

Her husband, Andre Pugh, worked with Barnes at Club Onyx and performed as DJ Awesome. Pugh dialed 911 at 6 a.m. and reported that he found his wife’s body after a home security company notified him of a possible break-in.

First responders found the couple’s 2-year-old son in bed with her, though he was unharmed, Glover said.

During an interview with Glover, Pugh told the investigator that he may have been the intended target, and his wife happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, video of the interview shows.

“We didn’t know if we had a serial murderer on our hands or an aspiring rapper that is trying to make a name for themselves and they’re mad because Nando and Pugh didn’t play their music,” Glover said. “That was one of the avenues we had to visit.”

But authorities found evidence that sent them on a different path in Jackson Pugh’s killing. Cellphone data showed that a close friend of Pugh's was near the couple’s home around the time of the murder, as was Pugh.

'We desperately need justice'

Text messages between Pugh and his wife showed a troubled relationship, Fulton County Deputy District Attorney Pat Dutcher told “Dateline.” He’d had relationships with other women and she had threatened to leave, Dutcher said, yet he was struggling financially and often depended on her to pay his bills.

Pugh and his friend, Adrian Harley, were arrested that December and accused of carrying out a murder-for-hire — an event that prompted a flood of calls to Barnes’ family from people who wondered if the pair may have been linked to his killing. (Neither Pugh nor Harley have been accused of a crime in connection with Barnes’ death.)

“My mother and I are asking if an arrest is made that She or I be the first to know,” Beasley wrote in an email after the December arrests to a detective investigating her brother’s case. “We have been through so much there has been no peace and we desperately need justice  and closure.”

In a written response to Beasley, the detective indicated that Pugh wanted to talk and the department was sending someone to interview him. In the email, which Beasley provided to NBC News, he also said the FBI was assisting.

“I will keep you informed on any updates,” the detective wrote. “I will make sure we contact you and your mom first on an arrest.”

Seven days later, Beasley asked for an update, according to an email she provided to NBC News. She said she never heard back — and hasn’t heard anything from the department in the decade since.

It isn’t clear if the police interview with Pugh ever happened. The detective with whom Beasley corresponded did not respond to a request for comment. Pugh’s trial and appellate lawyers would not comment. A lawyer for Harley told “Dateline” that he saw no evidence of his client’s involvement in Barnes’ killing.

A spokesperson for the FBI’s Atlanta field office said it didn’t appear that the agency was ever involved in the investigation.

Glover said he hopes investigators in Clayton County will take another look at Barnes’ case. He wondered if they had reviewed cellphone data in the area at the time of the killing, and he recalled that while both Barnes and Pugh were DJs at Club Onyx, Barnes occupied a busier, more lucrative night, Friday. And in the hours after Barnes’ killing, Pugh asked for the DJ’s time slot, Glover recalled learning from the club’s management.

Sabrena Swinger, who supervised Onyx’s dancers, told “Dateline” that she recalled hearing Pugh make the request. Afterward, Swinger said, Pugh DJ’d one Friday night, but the club hired someone else to replace Barnes going forward.

Andre’s lawyers would not comment on the request and Ivey did not respond to requests for comment.

Is San Jose Safe for Tourists?

When compared to San Francisco and Oakland, San Jose is significantly safer in terms of violent and property crime.  However, visitors should remember that they are still in a major urban area.  Tourists may occasionally fall victim to petty crimes such as pickpockets. Be sure to constantly be aware of your surroundings and conceal any valuables, especially in a parked vehicle.

If you do arrive from San Francisco or Oakland, you can take BART and connect to the Altamont Corridor Express (ACE). Additionally, you can rent a car and drive from anywhere in the  Bay Area .

3. Disney World (Orlando, Florida)

While some travel across the country to visit Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the theme park is often considered a tourist trap, and a very expensive one at that. But if you're firmly opposed to a Disney trip, you might want to reconsider.

"Plenty of people all over the world gripe and groan about how Disney is a tourist trap," Taylor Beal , Europe travel blogger  and content creator behind Traverse With Taylor, tells Best Life . "They say it's overrated, over-priced, and packed full with people—so much so that it makes it unenjoyable. But the reality is that Disney World really is one of the most magical places on Earth."

According to Beal, this Floridian attraction gives you the opportunity to escape into a world "where life is a celebration and most things are simple."

"Everywhere you turn, there are characters, parades, rides, delicious food, and a million other things to see," she shares. "For the best visit, consider a time during a festival like Epcot's Food and Wine Festival. You can avoid major crowds by staying away from holidays or weekends."
