Drake tour 2023: See the setlist for the 'It's All a Blur' tour

drake blur tour opener

Drake kicked off his It’s All a Blur tour with a dizzying amount of music.

The rapper-singer launched his 56-date tour in July at Chicago’s United Center and held true to his promise that the show would be “a celebration of the last decade.” For his first headline outing since 2018’s Aubrey & the Three Migos tour, Drake uncorked 48 song appearances while performing on a massive square stage.

During that show, he told the crowd, “I have an album coming out soon for y’all.”

Drake’s run with opener 21 Savage – who joined him for a few songs during the main set — is slated to crisscross the U.S. through Oct. 9 in Columbus, Ohio.

Drake performing at Madison Square Garden on July 25, 2023 for the It's All A Blur Tour

A live Drake show will always be enjoyable. Because of how much good music he has delivered throughout his career, fans walk away pleased that they can enjoy their favorite songs in an arena full of people who know every single lyric. And his usual emphasis on performing new music only elevates the experience.

Drake Slammed With Pedophile Jokes After Kids' Choice Award Nomination

For It’s All A Blur, he not only ends with “Legend,” the opener from his 2015 mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late , but also opens with “Look What You’ve Done,” the passionate ode to important people in his life from his 2011 album Take Care . At the Philadelphia stop on Monday (July 31), he ended the show with 2017 deep cut “Teenage Fever,” and revealed he would change his closing song moving forward throughout the tour. Presumably, these will come from early records in his catalog. This is all more telling than people may realize.

Obviously, there is nothing wrong with performing classics. People want to hear older tracks like “Say Something,” “ Headlines ,” “ Marvin’s Room ,” and “Know Yourself.” He also performed multiple hits he’s racked up since his last tour, like “ Laugh Now Cry Later ” and “Way 2 Sexy.” Still— 30 out of his 43-song setlist were tracks from before 2020, which isn’t his usual M.O.

His appearance at Dreamville Fest in April was in front of a larger crowd, but the setlist was almost identical to the one he did at The Apollo. What fans may not have realized on those two January nights and that slightly warmer April evening, was that he was foreshadowing what could come to fruition after this tour.

Drake hinted at wanting to retire at 35 years old on the Views track “Weston Road Flows” in 2016, but later confirmed on Rap Radar that it was more of a fun bar than an actual intention. He spoke about how much he loves making music and living the rapper lifestyle. He shared a similar sentiment during an August 2022 interview with Nicki Minaj on Queen Radio . Yet, just six months later during a conversation with Lil Yachty , he said, “I feel like I’m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit.”

It is important to note that, in that February conversation with Yachty, he did say that he wasn’t ready to retire at that moment. He still has an interest in making interesting projects. However, his tune did change in just six months—after his successful November 2022 collaboration album with 21 Savage , Her Loss and polarizing dance-inspired album Honestly, Nevermind . Drake hadn’t released music at such a consistent rate since his 2015-2018 barrage of If You’re Reading This , What A Time To Be Alive , Views , More Life , and Scorpion .

The Degrassi actor’s 2020 to 2023 output made many feel like he wasn’t slowing down anytime soon, but a deeper dive evokes the opposite feeling. While many naysayers may credit that to him “not having it” anymore or recognizing the game has passed him by, there was a sense of fulfillment that came with the words he said on stage at MSG.

He spent a portion of the show discussing being appreciative and grateful. He acknowledged the things people go through with their families, employers, finances, and aspects of their lives that they want to change before encouraging fans to greet one another and express love. “That’s the way we stay alive,” he said. “We can’t be cool and tough all the time. A thousand things can take you off this Earth, don’t let it be hate.” While this speech was salient, in hindsight, it feels like he was talking to himself.

Drake’s life appears luxurious, from the mansion to the plane to the expensive trips. However, working at the rate he has, it would be impossible to not be tired. There are also the challenges fans are aware of, and the things he keeps private. That moment at MSG now feels like he was looking in a mirror.

After bookending the speech with “God’s Plan” and “Child’s Play,” photos of Drake’s five-year-old son Adonis appeared on the titantrons during “ Wait For U .” While fatherhood appears awesome now, fans can’t ignore how we learned about his son: via a beef with Pusha T in 2018 where his family and friends got caught in the crossfire. Even one of the most braggadocious, impenetrable rappers in history has weak spots, and those became apparent in the heat of that feud. Drake has understandably been a target for a lot of his career, given his stature. He has played the villain, reverted to the nice guy, and now toes the line between both roles. That in itself sounds exhausting.

Drake brought out his mother on stage ?? pic.twitter.com/ZijYq5NfDD — Pop Hive (@thepophive) July 27, 2023

It’s also worth exploring another difference on the It’s All A Blur Tour: no surprise appearances by artists to perform during Drake’s sets. J. Cole joined him during the Montreal leg of the tour, but only because 21 Savage is not allowed to cross the border. Lil Yachty opened the MSG shows in the place of Skillibeng . Meek Mill walked out with him, much like several other rappers and celebrities have on this tour. However, Meek did not actually hit the stage. This tour has been all about Drake and his journey, which adds to the “final chapters” feeling.

While he ended the MSG show announcing that For All The Dogs will be “coming soon,” something in the air made the entire spectacle feel like this journey he and his fans have been on will be ending soon. Given his work ethic and how easily he can make a record that people enjoy, it is undeniable that he can continue on for any period of time. Still, there is something about the depth of his musings and the nostalgia-leaning setlist that makes it feel like people should prepare for their beloved Drake to take on a reduced schedule. That’s if he’ll even be an active presence in Hip-Hop at all after this album.

On “Fireworks,” the opener to his 2010 debut album Thank Me Later , Drake rapped: “My dreams are who I’m racing with/ But you can see I’m pacing it so that I’m always chasing it.” The It’s All A Blur tour feels like an acknowledgment that he is closer than ever to his finish line, and he is fully okay with it. The dream was realized—arguably, years ago. Now, he can gracefully exit and ride into the sunset on his own terms.

Drake performs onstage with a mic in hand.

Just hold on, we’re going on tour.

After teasing a U.S.and Canada jaunt back in December, Drake has finally officially announced his summer 2023 ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with 21 Savage.

The Toronto-based rapper will play arenas all over North America from June through September .

“Ah, man, I can’t wait to see the people, “ Drake said in his late 2022 podcast appearance talking about his upcoming nationwide trek.

“It’s different when you’re performing, you look out in the crowd, someone locks eyes with you and you can just tell it’s a moment.”

Prior to the tour, Drake is scheduled to headline alongside J. Cole, Usher and Burna Boy at Raleigh, NC’s Dreamville Festival from April 1-2.

Then, midway through the 29-show run, Champagne Papi’s tour stops in New York City for four huge concerts — first up, he’ll play Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on July 17 and July 18 ; the next week, he swings into NYC’s Madison Square Garden for back-to-back gigs on July 25 and July 26 .

‘It’s All A Blur’ will be the hitmaker’s first since his 2018 “Aubrey & The Three Migos Live!” Tour.

And if you need to score tickets today, our “Motto” is that we’re here to help make that happen .

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 17, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Drake 2023 tour schedule

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Drake opening acts

At all shows, Drake will be joined by his oft-collaborator 21 Savage.

The 30-year-old rapper is known for his singles “A Lot” and “Rich Flex” as well his verses on “Creepin'” and “Jimmy Cooks.”

Most recently, he put out the single “Peaches and Eggplants” with Young Nudy.

Drake set list

Although Drake hasn’t toured in five years, he did perform two nights at New York City’s Apollo Theater on Jan 21-22.

Each show was a true, all-out career retrospective — both nights, he played over 40 tracks including “One Dance,” “Passionfruit,” “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” “Started From The Bottom” and “Laugh Now, Cry Later” as well as a handful of surprising covers.

If you want to see what Drake played on both nights as well as what he’s played at every gig as far back as his first show in 2009, take a look at Set List FM .

Drake new music

Drake is nothing if not prolific.

In 2022, he released two albums, “Honestly, Nevermind” and “Her Loss.”

Before that, the Toronto native and former “Degrassi” star dropped the 21-song “Certified Lover Boy” in 2021.

This year, he collaborated with Popcaan on the sure to be club favorite single “We Caa Done.”

Drake's tour opener features hologram of younger self and near miss with fan's phone throw

Drake's it's all a blur tour debuted in chicago with an electrifying performance, including a hologram of his younger self, and a fan threw a phone at him.

Drake's highly-anticipated It's All a Blur Tour, featuring 21 Savage as the opening act, made a memorable debut at United Center in Chicago on Thursday.

The rap superstar delivered an electrifying performance, complete with over 40 songs, a hologram of his younger self, and an unexpected incident involving a fan's thrown phone.

Launching the tour with a bang, Drake treated the audience to a jam-packed setlist encompassing hits like "Marvins Room," "Headlines," "The Motto," "Started from the Bottom," "Sicko Mode," "Way 2 Sexy," "God's Plan," "Nice for What," "One Dance," "Sticky," and many more.

The 36-year-old artist kicked off the show by performing "Look What You've Done," a track from his album Take Care that hadn't been performed live since 2012.

During the performance, Drake sat on a couch alongside a hologram version of his younger self, creating a visually captivating moment as the hologram bobbed its head to the beat.

A striking interaction occurred when the hologram appeared to hand Drake a book, which he physically grabbed and opened, which left fans with awe-struck.

Following the Canadian Rapper's set, 21 Savage took the stage for a solo performance, captivating the crowd with 12 of his own songs.

Later, Drake joined him for a five-track rendition of their collaborative 2022 album “Her Loss before” concluding the show with "Legend" from his 2015 mixtape “If You're Reading This It's Too Late.”

Amidst the excitement, an unexpected incident occurred when a fan threw their cell phone at Drake while he was singing a cover of Ginuwine's "So Anxious." Videos captured by attendees show the rapper attempting to catch the phone but missing, resulting in it falling to the ground.

Drake appeared unharmed by the incident.

This incident comes in the wake of similar incidents involving artists such as Bebe Rexha, Kelsea Ballerini, and Pink, who have all encountered objects thrown at them during performances.

Rexha, who was hit in the face by a phone, suffered injuries requiring stitches. The individual responsible for the act was arrested and is currently facing charges. ALSO READ| Bebe Rexha suffers head injury after fan hurls phone at her during NYC concert, viral video captures the incident

Drake Brings Out J. Cole for ‘It’s All a Blur’ Tour in Montreal

By Charisma Madarang

Charisma Madarang

During Drake ‘s It’s All a Blur tour stop at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, J. Cole joined him onstage in place of 21 Savage on Friday.

The Off-Season rapper was seen walking through the crowd, in the same fashion Drake opened his tour last week in Chicago, while wearing a shirt that read, “The game has changed, you have been warned.”

While 21 Savage, who  made his entrance Chicago’s United Center to Fantasia’s “When I See U,” is set to appear at all of the U.S. dates of the tour, he is not scheduled during stops in Canada.

In April, it was announced that Cole would be set to become a minority owner in the Charlotte Hornets after NBA legend  Michael Jordan  announced that he was selling the franchise he’s owned for the past 13 years. The rapper is part of a group of minority owners, a cohort that also includes fellow North Carolina music hero: Country star Eric Church.

Though Drake’s It’s All A Blur tour officially ended on April 5, 2024, fans may be curious to know whether—and when—they’ll be able to catch the artist on the road again this year. Especially given his near-constant appearance in headlines in recent weeks, the “First Person Shooter” rapper may surprise us with a new album and concert dates very soon. Here’s everything we know about how to get Drake tickets in 2024, whenever they do go on sale: To start, we recommend bookmarking or subscribing for updates on TicketMaster , StubHub and SeatGeek so you’re alerted as soon as dates go live.

Though Drake hasn't officially announced another tour, we're sharing everything we know about how to ... [+] get Drake tickets in 2024, whenever they happen to go on sale.

How to get beyoncé tickets in 2024, where to buy tickets for drake’s tour in 2024.

While we can’t say for sure when a new tour will be announced, we can speculate about where to buy Drake tickets when the time comes. As mentioned above, some ticket retailers let you sign up for email updates, so you’ll be among the first to know when Drake tickets go on sale. They’ll probably sell out immediately on first-party sites, so in case you miss those, we’ve also included some ticket resellers to check as a backup.

  • Drake’s site on TicketMaster will definitely carry the artist’s concert tickets when they’re announced and on sale, so be sure to bookmark the page or set a custom alert so you can stay in the loop.
  • Visit Drake’s SeatGeek hub and sign up for on-sale and ticket pricing alerts for the performer’s yet-to-be-announced tour dates.

  • Keep an eye on TicketNetwork’s Drake hub for options once a tour is announced; TicketNetwork is both a primary and secondary retailer, so you may be able to snag tickets as soon as they go live or buy them as resales.

When Do Drake Tickets Go On Sale?

While there’s no concrete news about the dates or locations for the next Drake tour, there are already some rumors swirling about whether and when it may be announced. Drake has barely been out of the headlines since his last album, For All The Dogs , dropped last October, and especially so in the last six weeks since the It’s All A Blur tour ended. Drake’s beef with Kendrick Lamar went from “0 to 100” and has kept him busy and in the news.

Though we’ll spare you the saga on the feud in its entirety— a lot has happened between October of last year and now—we’ve been keeping up to look for clues on what might come next. On May 12, Drake took to Instagram and posted a story many are interpreting to mean that he’s stepping back from feuding with Lamar. On top of an illustration depicting one sworded soldier standing in front of an army that vastly outnumbers him, Drake added the text: “Good times. Summer vibes up next.”

We’re not qualified to determine who won this epic beef, but we’re relieved it’s over and hope that Drake can get some sleep. It’s entirely possible that “summer vibes” might be referencing a new album release and a tour to follow—and because Drake has been seen on stage with other acts like Nicki Minaj in recent weeks, he may very well be gearing back up for performances of his own.

Drake 2024 Tour Dates

Drake’s It’s All A Blur tour in North America started on July 5, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois and ended on April 5, 2024 in Newark, New Jersey. As soon as we learn of any new tour dates, we’ll update this article with everything you need to know about how to get Drake tickets for his next tour.

How Much Are Drake Tickets?

Prices for tickets to Drake’s It’s All A Blur tour varied by city, venue and proximity to the stage. The cheapest original standard tickets sold for about $100, in general, although they didn’t last long. The pricier original tickets sold for around $500, and of course when they hit the reseller sites they could cost much more than that. Some ticket brokers reported offering great deals for some Drake tickets, though, with prices as low as $69.

How Do You Unlock Drake Tickets?

If a future Drake tour is similar to the last one, you may be able to unlock presale tickets. For example, Cash App card holders may be able to use their card to buy tickets by typing in the first nine digits on your Cash App card.

There may also be other presale opportunities available to holders of other credit cards, or codes released through social media, fan clubs or blogs. As soon as we’re aware of any presale dates, we’ll share what we know.

It’s been a month since Drake’s latest Kendrick Lamar diss, “The Heart Part 6,” but is his next musical move really a cover of “Hey There Delilah”?

Late on Monday, the internet exploded with a version of the Plain White T’s moody 2005 hit sung in Caribbean patois in what sounds like Drake ‘s voice (but these days, who knows?). The cover, titled “Wah Gwan Delilah” and filled with Toronto references and slang, was uploaded by SoundCloud user Snowd4y and claims to feature Drake.

But teases to keep his fans guessing are a cornerstone of Drake’s brand — it was not immediately clear to fans or experts whether “Heart on My Sleeve,” the 2023 song purportedly featuring him and the Weeknd that turned out to feature AI-generated vocals , was actually the two of them, and both artists kept mum until Universal Music, the company to which they are both signed, issued a takedown order.

Variety has reached out to Drake’s representative for comment or confirmation. Whether it’s actually him or not, he doesn’t seem to mind us speculating.

‘American Idol’ alum Mandisa’s cause of death revealed: complications of obesity

Mandisa, the Grammy-winning Christian music singer and former “American Idol” contestant, died in April from complications of class III obesity, according to an autopsy report.

Documents obtained by People listed the singer’s manner of death as natural and noted that the 47-year-old was found dead in her Tennessee home on April 18. The singer “was last known alive approximately three weeks” before her death, the report said.

A representative for Mandisa, born Mandisa Lynn Hundley, confirmed the singer’s death to The Times on April 19. “At this time, we do not know the cause of death or any further details,” the representative said at the time.

Mandisa, ‘American Idol’ star and Grammy-winning Christian music singer, dies at 47

Grammy-winning Christian music singer Mandisa died Thursday at age 47, The Times confirmed. She was known for songs including ‘Overcomer’ and ‘Bleed the Same.’

April 19, 2024

Mandisa’s autopsy report confirms her father John Hundley‘s belief that his daughter “did not [harm herself],” which he expressed to Fox News Digital in May . He told the outlet that detectives “looked for signs that she may have harmed herself, and there were no signs to indicate that she did anything” of that nature. During a celebration of Mandisa’s life in late April, Hundley said he believed his daughter “fell down in her bedroom.”

Days after news of the “Overcomer” singer’s death broke, Tennessee police confirmed to The Times that there were no signs of foul play.

Cleveland Clinic defines class III obesity as a “chronic condition” in which a person has a body mass index of 40 or higher, or a BMI of 35 or higher while experiencing obesity-related health conditions. “Class III obesity can contribute to several serious health conditions, such as Type 2 diabetes and heart disease,” the clinic says.

Mandisa’s father gives eulogy: Singer’s death showed ‘no signs’ of self-harm

The gospel singer and ‘American Idol’ alumna, who won a Grammy for her album “Overcomer: The Greatest Hits,” was found dead in her Tennessee home on April 18. She was 47.

Mandisa was a five-time Grammy nominee who earned her first award for her 2014 album, “Overcomer.” While her legacy includes songs “Good Morning” and “You Keep Hope Alive,” she was most widely known for showcasing her talents on Season 5 of “American Idol” in 2006.

The long-running singing competition remembered Mandisa in an Instagram statement and with a musical tribute by former contestants Melinda Doolittle, Colton Dixon and Danny Gokey in an “Idol” episode that aired in late April. The singers, all dressed in white, delivered a cover of Mary Mary’s “Shackles (Praise You),” which Mandisa performed during her time on the series.

“I think she came in praising, I think she left praising,” Dixon said after the performance. “We’re gonna miss her, but our loss is heaven’s gain.”

Times staff writer Eva Hartman contributed to this report.

Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson kicked off another leg of her Together Again Tour, and she’s spiced up her intricate dance routine with Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” being mixed into her “Nasty” breakdown.

The first concert of the 35-show trek launched in Palm Springs, Calif., on Tuesday night (June 4) at the Acrisure Arena, where Nelly is serving as the tour’s opener.

Trending on Billboard

“Who’s that in that nasty car? Nasty boys/ Who’s that eatin’ that nasty fruit? Nasty boys/ Who’s jammin’ to my nasty groove? Nasty boys,” she sings over Mustard’s West Coast production.

Fans had plenty to say about Janet’s “Not Like Us” stirring the pot on X. “It’s gon be a long year for Aubrey. HBCU season still coming,” one person wrote.

Another chimed in , “Kendrick introduced a whole new generation to Janet. Of course she gon ride for him!”

K. Dot and Jackson have yet to collaborate. However, Lamar did sample the iconic singer’s “Any Time, Any Place” on “Poetic Justice.” The Good Kid, M.A.A.D City classic reached No. 26 on the Hot 100 in 2013.

A month after it’s release, “Not Like Us” is still a staple in hip-hop and permeating different areas of pop-culture. Earlier this week, a Houston meteorologist incorporated lyrics from the Drake diss into his weather report.
