Also in Save

Save pronounced 'Saah - v-eh' sits on the border of Masvingo Province and Manicaland Province. Save River creates a physical border between the two provinces and lends its name to the local village and nearby valley. The Save Valley Conservatory is one of the largest private game reserves in Africa, sitting on 750000 acres of land. Interestingly the conservation area is made up of state-owned, communal and private properties that together make up the Save Wildlife Conservancy. The sheer expanse of the game park means the animals are not confined to areas, are not accustomed to humans and are completely wild. Whilst this makes them hard to observe, it makes guided tours all the more special as one does not know what they will see.

Mozambique Camps

Tandikwe Camp Tandikwe camp consists of five luxurious chalets, all with ablutions en-suite. It is situated within the Coutada 9 Concession. It has an open dining room under thatch providing stunning views of the Concession and the granite outcrops beyond. Visit Tandikwe Camp Gallery .

Buffalo Camp, Zambezi Delta The camp consists of wooden cabins with ablutions en-suite. The dining and sitting area overlook one of the perennial rivers and palm savanna beyond.  Visit our gallery for pictures of the camp. Pompue Fly Camp   Due to the large area and some clients preferring to “rough it” we do offer a “spike camp” option.  This camp is placed under shade trees along the Pompue River and consists of a safari tent.  Ablutions consist of a separate room with a flush toilet and bucket shower.  There is a fee to set this camp up for those wishing to use this facility.  For the adventurous folks.

Njiri Eco Camp Njiri Eco Camp is based in Coutada 9, a wildlife area located between Tete and Chimoio, in Mozambique. The camp is designed for anyone who wants to experience Mozambique’s wildlife and participate in its regeneration, great for the seasoned safarier who wants to do more than just sit in the game viewer. This is a self-catered tented camp, a great place to get away and get up close to nature. Enjoy watching the animals at the waterhole from our thatched dining area or on one of the guided game drives. Relax in the evening with a sun-downer drink round the camp fire. Each tent sleeps four people, it is en-suite and has stunning sunset views. The area has many plains game and we also have four of the Big 5. The camp consists of wooden cabins with ablutions en-suite. The dining and sitting area overlook one of the perennial rivers and palm savanna beyond.

MMAL, I sure you recognized the CZ in the report !! Yes getting them out near the lands can help with accuracy at times. I don't know if it matters in your CZ or not, it shot anything well when I had. I used the Hornady tool to determine length to the lands with Barnes and Northfork's and then seated them 15 thousands off if I remember, have to look at my notes to be sure. You can exceed the OAL and get near the lands in spacious CZ magazine very easily. The CPS solids where seated way out to accomplish this as well as the SS's. Both where crimped of course. I still have my leftover ammo from the safari for your gun if you want it send me a PM and I can also forward load data since you are now reloading.

enysse

Congrats on the great plains game hunt! That eland is a grand trophy!

Round 2!!, September 2018 Mokore Safaris Coutada 9 Mozambique Cape Buffalo, Sable, Nyala, and plains game, hopefully a big Kudu and maybe some of the Tiny 10, Red Duiker and Suni

FANTASTIC hunt and excellent report...congrats!! NOTHING like the success of your first cape buffalo hunt. Believe me, it doesn't go away...my favourite animal to hunt and I'm over the moon after every one. Did you manage to get that relic of a hunting vehicle started eventually??

postoak

Wow, the Save Valley highlands are a beautiful place. It definitely is a place I want to hunt someday.

kudukid

Great report neckdeep. A great safari. 2 bushpigs daylight is an impressive achievement. In particular I loved your eland and your waterbuck. Best of luck on your hunt in Moz this year!
