Formed in April 2009 after most of their current members left their careers in indie music to pursue a life of rock & roll, Monster Truck capture the true spirit of a rebellious genre that has disappeared from the mainstream in recent years. Two things separate Monster Truck from your usual four man band. 1) Member Brandon Bliss plays the organ, which works very well with the bass and is a kick-ass instrument and 2) All members of Monster Truck sing collectively, even drummer Steve Kiely. The group are probably most known for being a Juno Award winner and for their album 'Furiousity', which hit number 13 in the Canadian charts in 2013.

Playing at a studio called 'Sugar Beach' courtesy of 102.1 The Edge, Monster Truck played a couple of tracks for dedicated listeners, and they definitely didn't hold back. The song 'Sweet Mountain River' has an incredibly catchy riff that is played by organ, guitar and bass and gives the song a very full effect. Despite lead singer Jon Harvey appearance which reminds me of a shy science teacher, he totally wrecks the room with deep, roaring tone and his immense finger movement up and down the neck of the bass. Another tune they played was 'Old Train', another predictably lively number, where Jon and guitarist Jeremy Widerman got to show off with their solo skills on their respective instruments. I felt like Monster Truck did well and truly define old school rock and roll with just a few songs and I can't wait to hear more of their material.

Monster Truck had a 30 minute set as support to Black Stone Cherry last night. They were awesome starting with True Rocker from their new album and proceeded to play 3 other tracks from said album. Of course there was the MT classics like Don't Tell Me How To Live/Sweet Mountain River and others. Overall a superb show from a band who deserve a hell of a lot more attention than they get. My one problem it was to short you really need to see these guys in their own headline show. Keep up the great work serious stardom is coming for this band.

There guys are the real deal. 5th time seeing them and it's been a long time, if ever, have I seen fans so enthusiastic. I love the bands sound and hope they make it . I promote them wherever I go and am surprised at how many ( young and old) havent heard of them yet . New songs last night were eagerly embraced it was such a party last night. Only downfall,ocasionally the young kids got carried away in the mosh pit...but maybe that's me feeling a little old. Love the Truck! !

Love these guys. It was my 7th time seeing them . This time around i felt they didn't quite have their A game. My girlfriend had seen them 3 times and felt the same way and were wondering if they were getting a little road weary.

Anyway. ..still love em . I have a friend in Montreal who I've introduced them to and he's going to the show on March 1st. I'm likely going with a few friends again on April 5th in Oshawa

This was my third time seeing Monster Truck live. Last couple of times they were the support act so it was good to see them headlining.

The venue was quite small but it didn't stop everyone having a great time. The guys have a fab stage presence and really got the audience involved in singing along with them. Wouldn't hesitate to go and see them again!

Absolute killer of a show. Them two lads who opened were very impressive, and Monster Truck were even better on a full set, compared to the short set they dis last I saw them with megadeth. One of my best gigs of late for sure

Monster truck were absolutely awesome, proper rockers,they are definitely going to bacome a big name band. The support act The Picture Books were brilliant two guys with a lot of talent definitely worth buying there album.

Amazing show..if you truly want to rock out, this band bring back memories of the great 70's rock bands. I hope they don't wait another 2 years before returning to Toronto, will definitely go to next local show.

About Monster Truck Show

Monster Truck is a motorsports event involving striking and destructive monster truck vehicles. It is the longest-running monster truck series to date. What is it like to attend a Monster Truck event? Monster Truck is a high-octane affair filled with passion from fans and drivers. Fireworks, light shows, music, and more are all a part of the show as the towering trucks drive around the dirt. While seating depends on the venue , many Monster Truck events are indoors and put the fans as close to the action as possible, leaving only a few yards between the seats and the track. Before the main event, Monster Jam hosts a Pit Party where fans can meet with drivers, explore the track, and see the trucks up close. Overview & History

A monster truck is a specialized off-road vehicle with heavy-duty suspension, four-wheel steering, large-displacement V8 engines, and oversized tires constructed for competition and entertainment. Initially created by modifying stock pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs), monster trucks have evolved into purpose-built vehicles with tube-frame chassis and fiberglass bodies rather than metal. A competition monster truck is typically 12 feet (3.7 m) tall and has 66-inch (1.7 m) off-road tires.

Monster trucks developed in the late 1970s and became popular in the early 1980s as side acts at popular motocross, tractor-pulling, and mud-bogging events, where they were used in car-crushing demonstrations. Today, they are usually the main attraction, with motocross, mud bogging, ATV racing, or demolition derbies as supporting events.

Monster Truck Events

Monster truck shows typically have two main events: a race and a freestyle stunt driving competition. Races are conducted as a single-elimination tournament on short, symmetrical tracks, which may include obstacles such as junk cars or dirt mounds. The length and complexity of the track can vary with the size of the venue, with courses in indoor arenas typically being shorter with fewer obstacles.

In freestyle events, drivers perform stunts such as obstacle jumps, backflips, wheelies, and doughnuts. Judges assign points to each performance, and the driver with the most points is declared the winner. Historically, additional vehicles for the drivers to crush, such as motor homes and school buses, were placed on the track specifically for the freestyle event, however incidents of debris flying into the stands and causing serious injuries have influenced most event promoters to turn away from such obstacles.

Most freestyle courses now consist primarily of large mounds and ramps erected to allow trucks to perform large jumps and wheelies upon landing. As a safety measure, freestyle performances have a set time limit, and only one truck is allowed on the track at a time. Freestyle events are typically the final competition of a show, as damage to the trucks would prevent them from racing.  Wikipedia

Monster Truck are a Canadian rock band from Hamilton, Ontario. After the release of two EPs, their debut album Furiosity was released on Dine Alone Records on May 28, 2013 and distributed on Universal. The band's second studio album entitled Sittin' Heavy was released on Mascot Records on February 19, 2016. Members include lead singer and bassist Jon Harvey, guitarist Jeremy Widerman, keyboardist Brandon Bliss and drummer Steve Kiely. Monster Truck's 2011 EP The Brown EP found success for them in Canada. The single "Seven Seas Blues" charted in the top ten of the both the active rock airplay chart and the alternative rock airplay chart in the spring of 2012. The band won the 2013 Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year. They played the Download Festival in 2013 and supported Vista Chino on their European tour in October and November 2013. The band started recording the Sittin' Heavy album in January 2015 after touring with Alice in Chains, opening for them on their Canada/United States North American 2014 tour. Their track "Sweet Mountain River" was included in Ubisoft's music game Rocksmith 2014, "Seven Seas Blues" in EA Sports' NHL 13, and "Old Train" was used in an episode of Orphan Black, "Variable and Full of Perturbation". The first single from their second studio album was released on October 19, 2015, a track called "Don't Tell Me How to Live". A song, "The Enforcer", was also available only when pre-ordering the album. Their song "Righteous Smoke" is featured in EA Sports' NHL 17. The song "The Enforcer" was also used as the goal song for the Toronto Maple Leafs after every goal scored with a "Go Leafs Go" chant added to the song.

We survived another northwest winter (with snowpack  120 percent  above average!) and there’s no better way to celebrate this newfound sun than with a lineup of concerts and music festivals.

Because no two concerts are alike, we can’t give you one catch-all hub to buy tickets and ask questions. But we can do the next best thing — we’ll show you exactly what we know and where you can learn more. Use this guide to get an overview of each concert sponsored in your area.

Idaho Central Credit Union partners with music venues throughout Idaho and Eastern Washington to bring together communities and local businesses. Our role in each partnership varies. The venues themselves deserve the credit for making these shows a reality!

Summer Concerts in Treasure Valley

Idaho Central Arena (Boise)

We don’t know how they do it, but the Idaho Central Arena in Boise is both a jack of all trades and a master of, well, almost everything. Whether you’re in the mood for a Billboard Hot 100 artist, a dance performance, or even a flower show, you won’t be disappointed. The arena announces new acts all the time, so be sure to check their site often for an updated list. Idaho Central Credit Union has naming rights to the arena.

Idaho Botanical Garden – Outlaw Field (Boise)

If you’re looking to experience a unique concert venue, Outlaw Field is the one for you. Before it took its place as one of Western Idaho’s most popular venues, Outlaw Field operated as a prison yard  for over 100 years . Now it’s part of the Idaho Botanical Garden, a nonprofit situated next to the Greenbelt River in the heart of downtown Boise. As the presenting stage sponsor, we’re excited to announce big names like The Avett Brothers, Modest Mouse, and Kelsea Ballerini. Concerts run all summer long but be warned — tickets sell out fast. Roadhouse at The Mill (Emmett)

Roadhouse at The Mill is more than just a concert venue. Proudly local owned and operated, Roadhouse is the ultimate destination for country music lovers in Idaho. Though it may be in an old Boise Cascade laminate plant, don’t let the factory façade fool you. Boasting a 2,300 sq ft dance floor and a massive, elevated stage, Roadhouse expertly combines urbanity with a classic country vibe to give you an unforgettable concert experience. Ford Idaho Center (Nampa)

The Ford Idaho Center doesn’t mess around. With 25+ artists already confirmed, this arena has a little something for everyone. Country, rock, alternative, you name it. Since 1997, the center has housed countless memories for locals and visitors alike — and given 2023’s all-star lineup, it doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. Boise Music Festival (Garden City)

Every year, concert goers flock to the Boise Music Fest, a 12-hour event complete with nationally acclaimed artists, carnival rides, and more. As one of the Treasure Valley’s biggest annual music events, it’s known for its one-of-a-kind shows and genre-diverse lineups. June 24 is coming quickly, though, so be sure to get tickets ASAP. Summer Concerts in Eastern Idaho

Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre (Pocatello)

Surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and set next to a 6.5-acre lake, this world-class amphitheater is the ideal spot for any outdoor concert. Bannock County has an extensive lineup prepared for Southeast Idahoans that begins early spring and lasts until late fall. Tickets for the first few concerts, including Jon Pardi and Riley Green, are on sale now! Idaho Central Credit Union is a sponsor of the venue and several concerts.

Eastern Idaho State Fair (Blackfoot)

The Eastern Idaho State Fair is bringing back old-fashioned fun, and trust us, it’s not something you want to miss. Dating back to 1902 (almost 125 years!), this week-long event brings together nearly a quarter-million visitors annually, and just a glance at the scheduled entertainment will show you why. Catch ICCU-sponsored livestock competitions, award-winning fair food, demolition derbies, and incredible performances from artists like Walker Hayes — all from September 1 to 9, 2023. In-depth schedules for each fair day will be released on the State Fair’s website in the early summer.

Summer Concerts in North Idaho and Eastern Washington

Idaho Central Credit Union Amphitheater at Riverstone Park (Coeur d’Alene)

The Riverstone Summer Concert Series is the perfect way to revel in both beautiful views and good music. Catch a concert at 6 PM every Thursday in July and August. Artists will be announced as the dates get closer. Idaho Central Credit Union has naming rights to the amphitheater.

North Idaho State Fair (Coeur d’Alene)

Musicians, watermelon eating contests, monster truck rallies — the North Idaho Fair has it all. Join us, a co-presenting sponsor, on August 18–27 to celebrate Idaho’s agriculture and community. Stick around on August 21–23 for the annual Party in the Dirt Concert, featuring artists like Carly Pearce and Chase Rice. Tickets for each concert day are on sale now.

Spokane County Interstate Fair (Spokane)

The Spokane County Interstate Fair takes fun to the next level with creative agricultural themes like “Lettuce Turnip the Jam” and “Pirates of the Carrots and Beans.” Experience a carnival, rodeo, and the best of Spokane’s agricultural history from September 8 to 17, 2023 — and be sure to see an ICCU-sponsored concert while you’re at it! 2023 Summer Country Showdown (Moscow)

Get ready for two days of music, food, and fun in the ICCU Arena at the University of Idaho. The arena itself is brand-spanking-new; built in 2021, it boasts  67,000 square feet , seating for over 1,000, and a premium club area. On August 25 and 26, you’ll get the chance to see hit country artists and independent artists who were born and raised in North Idaho. Check their website regularly — a full lineup will be announced soon! Idaho Central Credit Union has naming rights to the arena and is a sponsor of the festival.
