The RED HOT SUMMER TOUR has announced more dates on its exciting 2023 run of shows featuring an iconic all-Australian line-up. Tickets have already been selling fast for the 2023 tour which features Paul Kelly, Bernard Fanning, Missy Higgins, Mark Seymour, Vika & Linda and Ian Moss & Troy Cassar-Daley. With some shows already sold-out, and additional dates added by popular demand, the 2023 RED HOT SUMMER TOUR is shaping up to be one of the most popular in the touring festival’s history. In addition to touring throughout Southern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, organisers are adding dates in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland, as well as other favourite locations.

Tour promoter Duane McDonald says the new run of shows in Perth, Hunter Valley, Jacobs Well, Darwin and Cairns will see the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR on the road until May 2023. “The response to this tour has been extraordinary,” he says. “We are so excited to be able to take this tour all around Australia and we can’t wait to get started.”

Paul Kelly has been writing songs, making records and touring for over forty years. Along the way he has released over 40 albums, including live concerts, compilations and soundtracks. He has collaborated with many other artists, notably writing Treaty with Yothu Yindi and co-producing Archie Roach’s landmark debut album Charcoal Lane . His awards, too numerous to mention, include 17 ARIAs and an Order of Australia. He has published several books, including collections of his lyrics, a memoir How To Make Gravy and an anthology of his favourite poems Love Is Strong As Death . Paul’s songs have a way of digging into the country in a way that few artists do – how it looks, feels, tastes, sounds. The joys and sorrows, achievements and follies. If you want to know something about Australia, how it feels to be Australian, you can find it in his songs. His live shows in recent years reveal a performer and band at the peak of their powers. They bring all the shades and colours. Passionate, dramatic, tender and emotional. For the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR run he will be playing a generous selection from his ever-green, ever-selling greatest hits record Songs From The South, as well as delving into a range of songs from his vast catalogue.

We’re really looking forward to these shows. The last two years have brought home how precious live music is. To us and to those who come. We need each other. We’re going to bring it, give our all and play each show as if it’s our last. Because you never know what’s around the corner. – Paul Kelly.

Bernard Fanning has accumulated one of the most celebrated songbooks on the Australian rock spectrum. The former Powderfinger frontman has collectively released 11 studio albums producing songs that have become ingrained in the Australian psyche. Tracks like  My Happiness ,  These Days ,  Sunsets ,  Burn Your Name ,  Wish You Well,   Songbird ,  Blue Toowong Skies  and  Belly Of The Beast  have become the moving soundtrack for a generation, with Bernard’s emotive and distinctive voice completely capturing our hearts. He has a trophy cabinet that holds seven number #1 albums, 23 ARIA Awards, and five APRA Awards to name a few… his songs have appeared in triple j’s Hottest 100 an incredible 23 times including three #1 spots for  These Days  (1999),  My Happiness  (2000) and  Wish You Well  (2005). It’s fair to say Bernard Fanning has firmly cemented his position as one of Australia’s finest singer-songwriters and lyricists. With over 20 years of touring, expect a rock show with swagger, entertaining banter, crowd interaction and a display of pure musical talent by a member of Australian rock royalty and his band who are the perfect accompaniment to his wide-ranging set list of heartfelt country – folk tinged charm and classic rock grooves.

I can’t wait to get back on the road to do some ‘proper’ touring after almost three years of dribs and drabs and disruption. A lot of the towns on this run I have NEVER played before in 30 years of touring, so I can’t wait to get out there and play stuff from right across my career. – Bernard Fanning.

Missy Higgins is one of our most beloved singer/songwriters and her acclaimed studio albums,  The Sound of White ,  On a Clear Night ,  The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle,   Oz  and  Solastalgia  have sold more than two million copies. Classic songs like Scar , The Special Two , Steer , Everyone’s Waiting and Futon Couch , plus her unforgettable live shows, have made Missy an authentic household name. She has won nine ARIA awards and multiple APRA Awards. Missy also received a Screen Music Award for Best Original Song composed for the Screen for Australian Film Don’t Tell .  Earlier in 2022, Missy released mini-album Total Control featuring songs inspired initially by the musical fragments she wrote for the powerful ABC TV Series of the same name. The songs pick up themes of exploitation and female empowerment that run through Total Control and which also dominated real world headlines last year as a string of abuse allegations emerged from Parliament House. The stories Missy shares through songwriting come to life on stage as enjoyed by the thousands of fans who attend her concerts.

It will be so good to get back on the road and play in so many incredible parts of the country. The past few years have shown us that we can’t take anything for granted and being able to tour again will be very special, it’s what I love to do most. I’m also really looking forward to sharing the stage with such incredible Aussie artists. – Missy Higgins.

Mark Seymour formed Hunters and Collectors in 1980 with a bunch of Uni friends. The band become famous for its rhythmic power and very quickly became touted as the ‘next big thing’. The album Human Frailty has proven to be one of the most important and enduring record of the 80s. With Human Frailty, Mark discovered love, loss, and pop melody – his solo records are directly connected to this era and bear the same stamp of raw honesty and emotional power. He continues to search for the emotional truth in a song. As well as 13 Hunters and Collectors albums, Mark has released eight further albums. Mark Seymour is one of our finest songwriters, capturing our stories of love, loss, human courage and achievement.

The Red Hot Summer has grown into one of the biggest tours on our national music calendar. It does what few other festivals can. It goes to where people live which is pretty much everywhere. Reaching people matters deeply to me so I really appreciate the opportunity to be part of this fabulous bill in 2023. – Mark Seymour .

Vika & Linda’s effortless harmonies and journey through rock, country, gospel, reggae, R&B, soul and blues, while always paying tribute to their rich Tongan heritage, has earned the respect and admiration of their greatest fans – the renowned Australian artists they’ve performed and recorded with, and whose work their voices have enhanced.  Paul Kelly says “Their voices combined sound salty-sweet and have that elusive twinned quality you only get when siblings sing together …  They make the air beat in sync.”   In September 2021, Vika & Linda released The Wait , their first original studio album since 2002. It debuted at #2 on the ARIA chart. The Wait has continued a triumphant period for Vika & Linda which saw them score their first number one album with their career anthology, ‘Akilotoa , and three months later a #2 debut for their gospel collection, Sunday (The Gospel According To Iso) .

Ian Moss  and  Troy Cassar-Daley , two powerhouse artists, joined forces in 2022 for one of the year’s most successful tours. A truly remarkable partnership, with simplicity proving to be a powerful vessel to tell a story and share a song, will continue into 2023 via the RED HOT SUMMER. Ian Moss , a founding member of one of Australia’s greatest bands, Cold Chisel, is respected globally as one of our most iconic musicians. A multi-award winner, Mossy, who delivers a unique sound – not only as a telling soloist on guitar but also with his silken voice ringing with clarity and resonating with pure soul – was described by Cold Chisel bandmate Don Walker as  “the most gifted musician I’ve ever seen.”  Enough said. Troy Cassar-Daley , a proud Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung man, comes from a long line of storytellers and is regarded as one of Australia’s finest songwriters. On his way to collect every accolade possible including ARIA’s, APRA’s, Golden Guitars (the most in the awards history), Deadlys, National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs) and more, he has written with Paul Kelly, penned the anthemic Shutting Down Our Town for Jimmy Barnes, and recently Briggs sampled Troy’s harrowing and impactful story of Shadows On the Hill . No matter what story Troy is telling via song you just need to listen.

The Red Hot Summer tour series brings the ultimate rock 'n roll line-up

one hot summer tour

Hot on the heels of the announcement of Series One of the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR, the festival promoters are excited to announce Series Two featuring the Ultimate Rock N Roll Line-Up. Kicking off in February 2019, Series Two of the coveted touring festival will see the return of the Queen of Rock Suzi Quatro, with special guests The Angels, Baby Animals, The Screaming Jets, Jon Stevens, Moving Pictures and Chocolate Starfish. The month-long run will visit South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and Queensland.

Promoter Duane McDonald says the decision to bring Suzi Quatro back to Australia for Series Two of the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR in 2019 was an easy one. “Suzi is the Queen of Rock and audiences have always loved when she is part of the tour,” he says. “We are thrilled to have her return to play these special venues. To have such a top icon on top of this incredible bill certainly makes this one of the hottest shows this summer. This really is the ultimate rock n roll line-up – we can’t wait to head out for these shows, they are going to go off!”

After sold-out tours in 2014 and again in 2018, Suzi Quatro is back by popular demand to headline this ultimate rock n roll line-up. There are few female performers who have a career as successful and versatile as Suzi Quatro. When it comes to summing up her decades of music, there is no better way than to quote Suzi directly – “I will retire when I go onstage, shake my ass and there is silence” . It’s no surprise then to find out that Suzi has never stopped working in one guise or another, whether it is playing her solo rock show to packed houses, hosting her own show on the BBC Radio 2, performing on the West End or penning hit songs. To date, this enigmatic performer has sold over 55 million records, in fact, for a seven-year period in the 1970s she was featured in the British charts for an incredible 101 weeks. Her hits include The Wild One, 48 Crash, Devil Gate Drive, She’s in Love with You and If You Can’t Give Me Love to name a few.

When it comes to great Aussie rock, it doesn’t come much better than The Angels . It’s been over four decades since brothers Rick and John Brewster co-founded the iconic band and have penned some of Australia’s most anthemic tracks. The Angels are widely reputed for their killer live shows. With hits like Long Line, Marseille, Be With You, After the Rain, Shadow Boxer and Mr Damage to name a few. Recently they have been celebrating the 40th anniversary of their seminal album Face To Face with a massive sold-out national tour. Audiences need to get ready to rock when The Angels take to the stage at the 2019 RED HOT SUMMER TOUR.

Baby Animals burst onto the Australian scene in the 1990s with a solid rock force and a sassy lead singer. Suze DeMarchi proved that girls could rock just as hard as guys and the Baby Animals soon kicked some impressive rock butt with hits such as Rush You, Early Warning and One Word . The band scored themselves ARIA awards for best album and toured the globe. When they split in the mid-1990s they ended a special era of Australian music. The band’s recent reformation and inclusion again on the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR line-up is a rare chance for music fans to see their original rock at its best.

Aussie rock doesn’t get much more powerful than The Screaming Jets . After celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2014, they released a long-player of all new material in 2016 – Chrome – an album which showed the band were still rockin’ as hard as when they first crashed onto the scene in Newcastle back in 1989. In 2018 the band are gearing up for another album release – Gotcha Covered – which hits the shelves in July. With a swag of hits such as Better, Helping Hand, Sad Song, October Grey and Come On under their belt, The Screaming Jets are renowned for their pumpin’ live performances. They will certainly rock the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR in 2019.

For lovers of great music, a concert experience with Jon Stevens is up there with the very best. From his Noiseworks days – and hits such as Welcome To The World, No Lies, Touch and Hot Chilli Woman – to fronting The Dead Daisies and INXS, he has made an indelible impact with his amazing vocals. Jon also has an incredible solo catalogue, the most recent of which Starlight saw him do a run of sold-out dates last year. His live shows are dynamic, high energy and will keep audiences on their feet. Music fans are in for a treat as Jon takes RED HOT SUMMER TOUR audiences through his repertoire in 2019.

Moving Pictures are one of those bands whose songs are part of the Australian psyche. Their 1980s classic What About Me epitomised Australian music at the time. Their debut album Days of Innocence was a chart topper both in Australia and overseas. The group disbanded in the late 1980s but reformed again recently much to audiences delight! Their return to the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR line-up in 2019 is highly anticipated.

For music lovers looking for a special bit of concert showmanship, then look no further than Chocolate Starfish. Fronted by the enigmatic Adam Thompson, the band is known for their high energy live performances. With songs like Four Letter Word, Mountain and You’re So Vain , Chocolate Starfish powered onto the Australian music scene in the 1990s and quickly cemented themselves as an influential force. They produced two Top 10 albums and six Top 50 singles, and their inclusion on the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR again in 2019 is by popular demand.

The RED HOT SUMMER TOUR is one of the most popular touring festivals in Australia and after the sell-out run of the Suzi Quatro headlined tour in 2018, the 2019 Series Two event is certain to sell-out. These shows are what music memories are made of!

Tickets are on sale at 9am AEST on Thursday 12 th July 2018. Tickets are only available through authorised ticket outlets listed. 10 concert tours to see this summer

Hang out in the sunshine with a variety of live shows

The Foo Fighters perform a concert in Washington, D.C.

After months of iffy weather across much of the globe, summer is nearly here in North America. And, lucky for its residents, many standout artists are looking to take advantage of the sunshine with some live tours.

Alanis Morissette

One of Canada's most well-known musical exports is hitting the road again. Alanis Morissette will navigate venues across the United States during her "Triple Moon Tour," which will feature 33 dates running from June to August. Morissette will not go it alone, though, as she will be accompanied on stage by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts alongside singer Morgan Wade. Morissette released her tenth LP in 2022, but the "Triple Moon Tour" will mostly be in tribute to the 25th anniversary of her fourth studio album, "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie," which was released to critical acclaim in 1998.

While "Family Guy" may have once described him as "just some guy with a hat," singer Jason Mraz is the recipient of two Grammy Awards and remains one of the most popular guitarists and singers of the last decade. Beginning in June, Mraz will venture on his "Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride Summer 2024," with shows in more than 25 locations in the United States and Canada through August. The artist behind the hit single "I'm Yours" named his upcoming tour after his 2023 LP of the same name, his eighth studio album overall and his first in three years.

Chicago/Earth, Wind & Fire

Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire , two of the most popular bands of the 1970s, are combining for a mega-concert journey, the "Heart & Soul Tour," from July to September. Each leg of the tour will feature the "timeless music of Chicago and the iconic catalog of Earth, Wind & Fire," according to the band's website , and will "culminate in an encore performance with both bands on stage together." This timeless music will likely feature hits from both groups, including iconic soul soundtracks like "September" and "Shining Star" from Earth Wind & Fire, and rock ballads like "You're the Inspiration" from Chicago. Combined, both groups have won 11 Grammy Awards and sold more than 200 million albums.

Melissa Etheridge/Jewel

Singer Melissa Etheridge has won dozens of accolades and played thousands of venues over her decades-long career, and now she is getting ready to head back on the road. She is teaming with singer Jewel to launch the duo's summer 2024 tour . The tour covers the majority of the summer and runs from July to the beginning of October, with locations throughout the United States and Canada. Etheridge, perhaps best known for her 1993 single "Come to My Window," last released a studio album in 2021, but does not appear anywhere near the end of her journey.

Mannequin Pussy

Philly's punk rock icons are returning to the stage with a new tour. Mannequin Pussy will be embarking on their "I Got Heaven Tour" throughout July and August; the group will begin with shows in the U.K. and Europe before heading home to the United States and Canada, where they will play a series of shows before crisscrossing back to Europe again. Mannequin Pussy's music is "built on big emotions and inside jokes," said The New York Times , and the group is touring to promote their most recent studio album and fourth LP, "I Got Heaven," which was released earlier this year.

Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl and his band the Foo Fighters will be traveling down a sonic highway when they embark on their "Everything or Nothing at All Tour" in July and August. The tour comes a year after the group released their 11th LP, "But Here We Are," dedicated to both Grohl's mother Virginia and deceased band member Taylor Hawkins . The Foo Fighters will be playing shows in Manchester, Glasgow, London and other cities in the United Kingdom before playing a series of concerts in the United States. Once in America, the group, which was born out of the iconic 1990s grunge band Nirvana, will play 14 shows in 11 different cities.

Undoubtedly one of the most unique bands on this list, the psychedelic rock group Phish has formed one of the most loyal followings in music over a 40-year career (Drew Carey "talked to God" after seeing them, the television host said on X ). Now, Phish will grace the stage again with their summer 2024 tour in the United States, which will run from July to the beginning of September and will coincide with the release of their 16th LP, "Evolve," set to drop on July 12. This will mark the group's first official studio album in four years, though they did release a 2022 album under a different name.

Green Day released their 14th studio album, "Saviors," earlier this year, and they are not wasting any time promoting it. The punk rock icons are venturing on a concert tour of the same name from July 19 to Sept. 28. The band will play their popular LPs "Dookie" and "American Idiot" in their entirety, and it is very much a global endeavor: Green Day will play venues in Spain, France, Germany, the U.K., Austria and more before crossing the pond to play shows across the United States and Canada. The band is keeping busy now, as they recently headlined a UN-backed climate concert in San Francisco.

Kings of Leon

Many of the biggest names touring this summer are rock bands, and Kings of Leon are no exception. The Nashville-based group will head out on a summer 2024 tour from August to mid-October, beginning in European destinations such as the U.K., Austria, Ireland and France before playing 27 cities in the United States and Canada. The tour will be supporting Kings of Leon's ninth studio album, "Can We Please Have Fun," which was released this past February. Notably, this is the band's first album to not be released via their original recording label, RCA.

You can usher in the end of the summer on a high note by seeing one of the most notable R&B singers of all time, as Usher is embarking on his "Past Present Future" tour beginning at the end of August. The singer is riding high after a notable performance in February at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, the city where Usher also held multiple residencies totaling 100 shows. Usher will tour cities throughout the United States on his concert venture and is planning on touring Europe throughout 2025. His ninth LP, "Coming Home," was released to coincide with his Super Bowl performance.

Megan Thee Stallion to go on Hot Girl Summer Tour with rapper GloRilla: How to get tickets

one hot summer tour

Megan Thee Stallion is hissing to a city near you on The Hot Girl Summer Tour.

The Houston native and "Hiss" hitmaker will embark on a 31-city worldwide tour, produced by Live Nation, that will feature Grammy-nominated "Yeah Glo!" rapper GloRilla . The first arena tour marks Megan Thee Stallion's first time as a headliner.

The summer tour comes amid a comeback year for Megan Thee Stallion. Her latest single "Hiss" debuted atop the No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last month. She previously sat on with her "Savage Remix" alongside Beyoncé and her Cardi B collaboration "WAP." She now owns the record for the biggest first week for a solo female rap song ever.

Megan Thee Stallion hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 with 'Hiss' amid Nicki Minaj feud

The first week of "Hiss" first week recorded 29.2 million first-week streams, 2.9 million radio airplay audience impressions and 104,000 downloads,  according to Billboard . This year, she inked a one-and-first-of-its-kind agreement with Warner Music Group where she will release music independently with assistance from WMG. The agreement allows Megan Thee Stallion to retain ownership over her masters and publishing.

The tour also follows an ongoing feud featuring lyrics from "Hiss," which takes aim at her hip-hop peers after a series of personal controversies and crises over the past few years. After the mild streaming success of their 2019 collaboration "Hot Girl Summer," the duo's professional relationship with Minaj crumbled in recent years.

Megan Thee Stallion's February single with "Hiss," a follow-up to reptilian track "Cobra, sent a message as she raps that people "don't be mad at Megan," but they're "mad at Megan's Law." Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, and her brother, Jelani Maraj, are both registered sex offenders.

Megan Thee Stallion and former record label 1501 Entertainment settle 3-year legal battle

Megan's Law is  a federal law  which requires registered sex offenders to provide personal information to local law enforcement agencies. It was named in memory of Megan Kanka,  a seven-year-old who was raped and murdered  by her neighbor who was a convicted sex offender in 1994.

Bryan makes it awfully difficult to be in a solemn mood at one of his shows, in short — his penchant for rowdy showmanship ensures that. But there’s another reason to be in a good mood, watching him play: It’s from realizing afresh just how wildly successful he has become by throwing out any playbook that exists for how to get there. His radio play is nearly non-existent… deliberately so, probably, since last week he was sending out complaining tweets when he thought his record label was actively promoting “Pink Skies” to pop radio. (He apologized when it turned out he was mistaken.) He doesn’t do television appearances or interviews. He’s never even had a flashpoint viral moment. It’s just relatable songs, rousingly performed with the spirit of an Okie-fied Springsteen or Mellencamp. This genre-unspecific music is largely being received by a segment of the mainstream country audience that’s been ditching the party anthems of that other big heartland Bryan — Luke — for this one’s more poetic fare.

And he has fantastic taste in collaborators/opening acts. Sunday and Monday is was the War and Treaty invited to Crypto to recreate a duet from his last album, “Hey Driver,” with Sierra Ferrell set to assume the same spot Tuesday night. Even if you don’t love the songs, it’d be difficult to see anything other than sheer upside in how his massive success has gone down.

But there is a lot to love about the songs, too, and not just his ornery-populist methodology. At Crypto, a lot of the two-hour running time was devoted to taking songs that are deeply interior on record and turning them into barnburners, in subtle shifts that didn’t compromise the material’s integrity. His self-titled album from last summer marked a somewhat surprising turn toward quirky, lo-fi production values, but the five songs Bryan played from that album in concert didn’t sound much different from the six he performed from 2022’s more overtly commercial “American Heartbreak.” Starting the show with the ostensibly contemplative “Overtime,” Bryan managed to turn it into more of an obvious live blockbuster just by bellowing the title word instead of murmuring it, at the end of every stanza — the kind of small shift that can make a big difference in a performance. But when it came time to end the song, he toned it down again. Bryan isn’t afraid to wrap up a tune on a hushed note, even finishing songs with an unresolved-sounding a cappella coda now and again, in an arena show that is also duty-bound to deliver a fair amount of bluster.

These songs were equal parts country, Western (not to confuse, conflate or hyphenate those two), folk, rock, and the folk-rock hybrid formerly known as stomp-and-holler. Steel guitar and lap steel (albeit not on a lap, but played in a standing position) became increasingly utilized over the course of the set, but played with more of a rock feel than anything tying them to traditional Nashville. Bryan noted that his usual violin player was absent on paternity leave, which gave a chance for a guest fiddler, Hannah Cohen, to shine in the spotlight and happily disrupt the otherwise all-male lineup. Utility player Read Connelly gets the biggest recurring comic moment of the night, during the show’s inevitable climax, “Revival,” during which he falls to the stage floor and plays dead for a pregnant pause, only to snap back to life — revival , get it? — and, from a crouch, burn through the night’s first and last major banjo solo.

The show found Bryan in a similar position to where he was when he came through Crypto.com last year for a single-nighter: about to release an album, and not about to give away too much about it. Other than “Pink Skies,” the only number he performed to preview the next record was its apparent title song, “The Great American Bar Scene.” (As wtih “Oklahoma Smokeshow,” he changed the location in the title to “California,” so that the cutoff Lakers jersey he was wearing wasn’t the only sop to local culture.) That’s more than he played from a forthcoming album last year, when he didn’t preview any of the songs from “Zach Bryan” even though that album release was days away at the time. It’s unclear when “Great American Bar Scene” might be coming out: In a recent tweet, Bryan made it sound as if he might imminently, spontaneously release it, but on stage, he said only that the album is forthcoming “this year,” which leaves a lot of wiggle room. Whenever he does opt to drop it, it could be the album to finally dislodge Taylor Swift from the top spot; there probably aren’t enough variants in the world to keep Bryan from taking an appointed spot at No. 1. But with a shortage of live previews, fans will have to keep guessing whether the album will be as interior as the self-titled effort or as anthemic as “American Heartbreak.”

The presence of the husband-and-wife duo the War and Treaty as a galvanizing opening act of course bid well for a sure highlight in the headliner’s set: a revival of Bryan’s duet with Michael Trotter on “Hey Driver,” possibly the best song off last year’s self-titled album. Bryan apologized for all the “shitty” versions he and his band had done of the song on tour to date without the Trotters, before launching into a new vocal arrangement that, unlike the record, made room for Michael’s wife Tanya, and three-part harmony instead of two-. An additional, humble solution on Bryan’s part was just to hand over to Tanya some of the lead vocal lines he handled in the studio. The War and Treaty have been doing their own cover of the song out on tour (including two performances at Stagecoach), but getting to hear this blend of voices was a treat you’d wish could be handed down to all the audiences along Bryan’s tour routing this year, and not just a selected few.

Bryan and his band made their way backstage through a path cut through the audience, then returned through the same open tunnel, bringing in tow some of the backstage VIPs — Tate McRae, Casey Affleck and various local sports figures among them — for the traditional jump-around “all-night revival” finale to his show. It’s a churchy way to go out, but after a lot of down-and-out sketches dressed up as rabble-rousers throughout the preceding two hours, it didn’t hurt to finally revert to some pure, star-studded Pentecostalism at quitting time.

The Red Hot Summer Tour announces one final show for 2022 on its Unfinished Business run

Red Hot Summer Tour

First Red Hot Summer Tour at the iconic Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley – Saturday 1 st October 2022

Hunters & collectors james reyne, the living end, the angels, baby animals, killing heidi & chocolate starfish, tickets go on sale from 10am thursday 30 th june.

The RED HOT SUMMER TOUR is heading to the iconic Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley for the first time, with the addition of one final show on the Unfinished Business run by popular demand. The tour features an exciting line-up headlined by ARIA Hall of Fame inductees Hunters & Collectors, with special guests James Reyne, The Living End, The Angels, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Chocolate Starfish. Since the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR kicked off in February, events have been selling out around the nation and it’s no surprise why. The 2022 line-up was a special nod back to highly anticipated celebration of the 10 th anniversary tour in 2020.

Organisers are excited for the opportunity to bring the Unfinished Business run to Rochford Wines. “This is the first time we have taken the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR to the iconic Rochford Wines,” says promoter Duane McDonald. “It is fitting that we are wrapping up the 2022 tour with this announcement. It has been a spectacular run of shows. Thank you to everyone who has come out and shared in the music. We look forward to finishing off the 2022 RED HOT SUMMER TOUR in October.”

Returning to the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR stage in 2022 , Hunters & Collectors performances are a rare thing indeed and a huge coup for music fans. The legendary band disbanded over two decades ago and have only performed again a handful of times since – notably at The Sound Relief Concert in 2009 and a brief run five years ago. Banding together again specifically for the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR is apt, considering that Hunters & Collectors voracious live performances are so well suited in a festival environment. With smash hit songs such as When The River Runs Dry, Say Goodbye, Do You See What I See, True Tears Of Joy, Holy Grail and the anthemic Throw Your Arms Around Me , Hunters & Collectors have sold over one million albums spawning 19 hit singles.

James Reyne has been treading the boards in the rock halls of Australian music for decades. From his time fronting the legendary Australian Crawl through to his successful solo career, James’ music is part of Australian history. As a prolific songwriter and strong vocalist, it’s no surprise that James has won accolade after accolade for his contribution to music. When Australian Crawl split in the mid-1980s, James embarked on a successful solo career. James Reyne stands alone within an elite cluster of exclusive Australian performers.

The Living End are considered Australian rock royalty, and for good reason. Their blistering live performances have seen them perform far and wide, and their reputation precedes them, they rock from the first note to the last. When The Living End first smashed onto the scene in 1997 with their double-A single Prisoner of Society and Second Solution , they embraced a new Australian sound and fans and critics sat up and listened. Since then, they have released seven studio albums, two of which have debuted at #1 on the ARIA Chart – four of those are Platinum and two are Gold. They have been nominated for an incredible 27 ARIA Awards.

Audiences have always loved seeing The Angels on the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR and 2022 promises to really rock!

The band’s recent reformation and inclusion again on the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR line-up is an opportunity for music fans to see their original rock at its best.

Killing Heidi celebrated an auspicious anniversary in 2020, two decades since the release of their rock-pop debut Reflector . The smash hit singles – including Weir and Mascara – embedded the album in Australian music history, took out four ARIA awards and reached four times platinum status. It also catapulted Killing Heidi and its teen musicians – Ella and Jesse Hooper – into international superstar status. The Hooper siblings were revered for their songwriting prowess and their subsequent albums earned them critical acclaim.

Chocolate Starfish are the epitome of a concert party! Fronted by the enigmatic Adam Thompson, the band is known for their high energy live performances. With songs like Four Letter Word, Mountain and You’re So Vain , Chocolate Starfish powered onto the Australian music scene in the 1990s and quickly secured themselves a space as an influential force. They produced two Top 10 albums and six Top 50 singles.

Don’t miss this special final RED HOT SUMMER TOUR show at Rochford Wines. Tickets will sell out.

Tickets go on sale at 10am Thursday 30 th June 2022 via Ticketmaster.

The Rockpit

LIVE REVIEW: Red Hot Summer Tour – Series One in the Swan Valley, WA

Sandalford winery, wa - saturday 11th november 2023.

14 November 2023 The Rockpit

one hot summer tour

The November, Red Hot Summer Tour 2023/4 Perth spectacular was sure to be a memorable day with an exceptional lineup of artists. It seems the team at RHS know what the people want because the punters were there en masse. Merry music lovers entered the Sandalford Winery in droves ready for a jam-packed day of entertainment.

I completely misjudged the length of time it would take to drive from my home to my spot on the lawn.  Traffic was at a standstill and parking was a challenge, obviously an indication of a mighty good line up and that people were keen to get there early. There was a one hour wait to move a few kilometres and sadly by the time I arrived, I completely missed Sam & Sam while Mahalia Barnes and the Soulmates set was nearly finished. Word on the street was Mahalia was amazing. A few sound issues, but she soldiered on and continued to perform while technical difficulties were ironed out. From the carpark, she was on point. I’m really disappointed I missed her.

one hot summer tour

Kasey Chambers was welcomed on stage under a clear blue sky. Settling into a song list of well-loved hits, Chambers opened with Barricades and Brickwalls . Instantly, the crowd was abuzz, singing along and raising the energy at the front of stage. Pretty Enough was song two, prompting some great crowd participation. Chambers’ commented how wonderful it was to see a big, burly, bearded man singing along with great gusto! She also noted how much she’s grown since she wrote this song. Now rather than asking if she’s not pretty enough, she doesn’t actually give a fuck. We all cheered, hooray!

one hot summer tour

Country folk story telling music followed with a tonne of soul. A Chamberfied version of Eminem’s Lose Yourself was a standout. Arguably, Chambers’ most beloved song, The Captain , saw her bring her two sons on stage to perform. A beautiful moment for Chambers and her fans. A very talented family to be sure! Chambers finished with We’re All Gonna Die Some Day , a perfect way to set up a foot tappin’ procession to the bar.

one hot summer tour

Ever-attractive, Pete Murray picked up the baton, entering the stage with his guitar and band opening with Always a Winner . Pete’s trademark laid back style was the perfect accompaniment for a 29-degree Perth day with a few coldies, camp chairs and nibbles. Bail Me Out and Opportunity followed, while punters sang and danced at front of stage. A tight, well received set from the get-go, Pete continued to warm up the crowd, like only he can. Smooth tones, great music and endless sunshine.

one hot summer tour

By this stage, the RHST was living up to its name with some red hot burnt faces, backs and necks. For a lot of the audience, the only shade they had seen all day was from the intermittent shadowing from a descending airbus overhead. The Perth flight path happens to be over Sandalford Winery! Pete finished with Tonic and Better Days . The latter most likely an appropriate song for punters at the end of the night. Mr Murray was a delight for all. Also, has anybody seen Pete on the cover of Men’s Health? You should google it.

one hot summer tour

Props to RHST for their event model, allowing fans to enter and exit front of stage with a huge area for dancing and getting up close to their favourite artists. None of this pay to be upfront business. It’s a huge draw card for many people and makes for amazing energy front of stage. Tremendous value at $140 per ticket with hours of next level entertainment. Sink into a cosy camp chair or lose yourself dancing in the pit. I love it.

Obvious crowd favourites, The Living End, exploded onto the stage like an atom bomb. Hold onto your wide-brimmed hats and wine glasses people! Opening with I Can’t Give You What I Haven’t Got, the perfect paced song before thrusting the crowd into Second Solution taking it from one hundred to one thousand in one second. Much jumping, singing, dancing and general happiness ensued.

one hot summer tour

Punters lapped up the trio’s all or nothing, power packed, hard-hitting set with absolutely no breathing space. Stand out songs Pictures In The Mirror, West End Riot and of course, the grand finale, Prisoner of Society .

one hot summer tour

It wouldn’t be a true Living End gig without stage antics, including Cheney playing his guitar with a stubbie (then drinking complete stubbie), double bass acrobatics and much finger pointing. Catchy songs, grit and pure energy on stage. The guys were all feeling the heat, performing in the hottest part of the day and Cheney did comment if he was to die on stage, he’d be happy with that. He’d get buried next to Bon Scott in Fremantle and we could all visit him on Australia Day!

one hot summer tour

It’s true, these guys just keep getting better. There were technical issues with Cheney’s sound which he gallantly pushed through as best he could but ask anyone who witnessed this set and they’ll tell you they didn’t care. The band was on fire. Watching the punters return to their seats from the pit was a joy.  Energised, laughing arm in arm, huge smiles – it is exactly what live music is all about!

one hot summer tour

With the crowd warmed up to its fullest, WA boys, Birds of Tokyo hit the stage while the sun was nestling behind the trees. Punters could sense the band were genuinely excited to be playing their iconic music in their hometown. BOT big stadium sound boomed across the lawn opening with Smith Street and Plans .   Anchor and Two of Us followed, with front man, Ian Kenny’s voice in fine form.

one hot summer tour

Punters relished in the cooler temperatures as daylight faded and we enjoyed the stage lighting to it’s fullest. Kenny proudly announced they’d be debuting their new single, Lion , live for the first time to a home crowd, and it didn’t disappoint. Fans and punters alike, truly appreciated the sentiment as BOT delivered their newest baby for us all to see and take in.

one hot summer tour

Stand out moment of the night for BOT was undoubtedly Lanterns , as the rolling lawns were lit up by the lights from mobile phones of the crowd, swaying in the evening breeze. A magical moment for everybody, united in song. Beautiful vibrations all around. BOT were the perfect addition to an already amazing lineup.

one hot summer tour

We were all rewarded with a 30-minute break before the master himself, Jimmy Barnes hit the stage. If you were hoping to be down the front for this performance you would have had to skip the restroom visit. You did not want to lose position in the pit! Another case of everybody already knowing what they were in for. Always standing room only for Jimmy. He knows how to work the stage and we love him for it.

one hot summer tour

Jimmy had posted on his socials before visiting WA, he was working on a set list with a few songs thrown in, that he hadn’t played in a while. It’s always great to hear the songs you know and die-hard fans always remember if they’ve heard a particular song live or not. Hopefully Jimmy’s set list ticked a few boxes for those of you who’ve seen him many times! It’s great that Jimmy appreciates it too.

one hot summer tour

Onstage with his beloved Jane and his family see’s Barnes at his best. Opening with Flesh and Blood followed up by I’d Die to Be With You Tonight and Wheels in Motion . Punters singing along with every word. Jimmy Barnes under the stars belting out his greatest hits. How lucky we all were to witness it.

one hot summer tour

Without noting the entire set list, my stand outs Lay Down Your Guns, Ride The Night Away, Love is Enough and Driving Wheels . The ultimate being everybody’s anthem of choice, Flame Trees. Oh Perth, you were in fine voice on this beautiful evening. Tingles as we all sang with such heart!

one hot summer tour

A phenomenal day and evening of live music. No better way to spend a sunny Saturday at Sandalford Winery. If someone could beam me out of the carpark and home in a second at the end of the night it would be even better.

Celebrating and enjoying live music in beautiful surrounds with friends and family is a real privilege certainly not lost on the people who attended. Thank you RHST team and extended teams, contractors and artists for creating and delivering an exceptional day of music. We truly appreciate your dedication, commitment and delivery. Cheers and see you next year!

Method Man Claims He’ll ‘Never’ Perform at Summer Jam Again Due to ‘Generation Gap’

The Wu-Tang rapper wasn't satisfied with the crowd's response while performing at this year's edition of the Hot 97 festival.

Method Man is calling out the crowd at this year's edition of Hot 97's Summer Jam .

On Sunday, Hot 97 took to Instagram to share highlights from this year's festival, including a clip of Method Man and Redman performing their 1999 collaborative single "Da Rockwilder" over the weekend.

Method Man hopped in the comments section to critique the crowd due to a "generation gap," which he claims is now "just too wide for me." He finished his statement by claiming he'll "never" perform at Summer Jam again.

Instagram post from methodmanofficial stating the event crowd wasn't for him, thanking New York, tri-state, Pete, and Ebro, and mentioning a too-wide generation gap

"Not our crowd at all," he wrote. "Thanks again, New York and the whole tri-state (that showed up to the event) plus Pete and Ebro. I got love for you guys. But never again.. at this point the generation gap is just too wide for me. #nevercomingback."

View this photo on Instagram

Some Instagram users came to Method Man's defense, with one person ripping Summer Jam for being "for one hit wonders not legends."

“I wish the rest of our generation [would] show up at this show,” the user wrote. “@hot97 Summer Jam is for one hit wonders not LEGENDS cause unfortunately this young generation don’t care about our generation. Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, etc…These kids don’t know Hip-Hop! Busta gets on stage and does that same damn Chris Brown verse over and over cause that’s all they know."

Others weighed in on social media to discuss the Summer Jam lineup and how its status as a premier hip-hop event has changed.

It's going to be difficult to explain to the next generation just how big Hot 97's Summer Jam was at one point. It didn't matter how old you were. It was a big deal. — Ryan Shepard (@RyanMShepard) June 3, 2024
Hot97 be ashamed of yourselves. Hip Hop icon Method Man is never coming back because as a result of watering down the bill & not gatekeeping Hip Hop standards you let anyone perform to keep up with social media trends. Congratulations YOU 🫵🏽played yourselves! #Hot97 #SummerJam pic.twitter.com/G7NtI1TsQq — Chris (@RealDealChris) June 3, 2024
Look at the decline in star power on the Summer Jam lineup We’re losing recipes 😢 pic.twitter.com/xMg161Zj38 — Agonaldinho🇩🇲 (@Agonaldinho) June 3, 2024
As much as I grew up on “Summer Jam”and appreciate what it did for the culture … It doesn’t have the same affect no more… — Ran (@Spanish_Ran) June 3, 2024

The 2024 edition of Hot 97's Summer Jam, which took place at the UBS Arena on Long Island, was highlighted by performances from Gunna, Sexyy Red, and Doja Cat, as well as newcomers like Cash Cobain, Davido, Kyle Richh, Tata, and Jenn Carter.
