About patent pending.

Patent Pending is an American rock band formed in Mount Sinai, New York, in 2001. Consisting of Joe Ragosta (vocals), Anthony Mingoia (drums), Robert Ragosta (guitar), and Corey DeVincenzo (bass), the band had self-released various EPs before releasing its debut album, Save Each Other, the Whales Are Doing Fine, in 2006 with original vocalist Michael Ragosta, and bassist Drew Buffardi on We Put Out Records. In 2009 Patent Pending released an EP, Attack of the Awesome!!!, with Joe Ragosta and Michael Ragosta switching on lead vocals, and Jay Beiner on bass guitar. Michael Ragosta left the band shortly after the EP's release, with lead vocal duties permanently replaced by Joe Ragosta. Joshua Dicker, long time collaborating songwriter with the band, would appear as a live guitarist consistently during Joe Ragosta's switch to lead singer. Former The Ataris guitarist Rob Felicetti joined the band in 2010 until leaving in 2021, having joined Bowling For Soup in 2019. Patent Pending released an EP, I'm Not Alone, in 2010, and the group's second album, Second Family, in 2011, and performed the single "Dance Til We Die" live at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, hosted at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The band released its third album, Brighter, in 2013. The band announced its signing with independent record label Rude Records for the release of Armageddon EP, due to release in August 2015.[citation needed] In November 2015 the band released their first LP of their Rude Records contract, Riot Hearts Rebellion. The band is notable for its upbeat demeanor, diverse song subjects, close relationship with its fans, and energetic live shows. Since the group's formation, Patent Pending has released three full-length albums, ten extended plays, and ten singles to date.

What a great night. Wish they had been on for longer. They have so many fantastic song they need a 2hour set if not more. Just love them and can't wait for them to come back.

Taking influence from everything from Pop Punk staples like Green day and Blink 182 to a few slightly more surprising names such as MC Hammer and The Beach Boys, Patent Pending have learnt from the best how to make a crowd happy. Always carrying an undiminished sense of fun and energy into their sets, crowds are entertained from the second the band start playing their own personal, upbeat brand of punk rock. Encouraging sing alongs and movement from their crowds, their gigs are a feel good experience that is all about entertainment.

It’s not all just show though, Patent Pending’s all-round good vibes would be nothing if they didn’t have the music to back it all up. Thankfully they deliver catchy tunes back-to-back all played with a tightness and razor-sharp musicianship of a band of professionals. The drums crash and the guitars scream all while vocalist Joe Ragosta leads the proceedings. Punk isn’t all about aggression and if you want to be entertained by a great band who still have that punk energy Patent Pending are for you.

Pop-punk outfit Patent Pending (aka the P-Unit) formed in Mount Sinai, New York (on Long Island), with the mantra "We mosh because we care" held close to their collective heart. The group comprised vocalist Michael Ragosta, guitarist Joe Ragosta, bassist Drew Buffardi, and drummer Anthony Mingoia, though each lovingly adopted "Pending" as his last name. They took their exuberant live show across the country for a few years, playing everywhere from coffeehouses and basements to side stages on the Warped Tour and Bamboozle to opening for the likes of Brand New and Taking Back Sunday. Along the way, Patent Pending self-released two albums in 2004, ...Is Your Biological Father and Don't Quit Your Day Job, in addition to putting out two DVDs, 2003's Drop and Give Me 20 and 2005's Bring It On. The quartet signed to We Put Out Records in early summer 2005 and hit the studio with producer Joe Pedulla (Thursday, We're All Broken) manning the controls. (The Ragosta brothers are cousins with Pedulla, who is also Thursday guitarist Steve Pedulla's brother.) The resulting full-length, Save Each Other, the Whales Are Doing Fine, hit stores in June 2006. The Attack of the Awesome!!! EP was released in 2009, followed by a second EP, I'm Not Alone, in 2010. The band's sophomore long-player, Second Family, dropped the following year, and spawned a hit with "Dance 'Til We Die." Brighter, the group's third full-length outing, arrived in 2013, followed by a U.K. tour with Bowling for Soup. Patent Pending moved to independent label Rude Records for their next two studio outings, the digital-only Armageddon EP and the full-length Riot Hearts Rebellion, both of which dropped in 2015. Two years later, they delivered the covers album Other People's Greatest Hits, featuring reworkings of songs by Spice Girls, the Killers, Rick Astley, and more. ~ Corey Apar
