Rumoured Dates For The Rolling Stones Live 2023 Start To Surface
by Paul Cashmere on February 14, 2023
While it has been confirmed The Rolling Stones will release their first album of original material since 2005 in coming months, dates for a North American tour are also starting to surface.
Rolling Stones fansite iorr.org has been compiling expected dates for the 2023 tour. All dates at this stage are listed as “rumoured” and the site has also issued a disclaimer to not book travel until the dates are confirmed.
So far its looking like:
18 June, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada 30 June, Chicago, USA 8 July, Foxborough/Boston, USA 20 July, Cleveland, USA
UPDATE 16 Feb 2023: An announcement for a Stones 2023 tour has been delayed
While the dates may or may not be accurate, what the intel coming through is showing is that any 2023 activity will most likely centre on North America.
The Rolling Stones ‘Sixty’ 2022 tour was Europe only. It began in Spain on 1 June 2022 and ended in Germany on 3 August 2022.
The 2021 ‘No Filter’ tour was North America only. It started in Foxborough, Massachusetts where the 2023 tour is rumoured to be heading and ended in Florida on 23 November 2021.
The 2019 No Filter dates were all North America, starting in Chicago on June 21 2019 and ending in Florida on July 19 2019.
2018 dates were all in Europe, 2017 were Europe, 2016 where North America and South America, 2015 were only in North America and 2014 was a world tour that ended in New Zealand after dates in Australia, Europe and Asia. 2013 was North America, 2012 was Europe and they were the first dates since the A Bigger Bang tour that ended in 2007.
Between 2012 and 2022 The Rolling Stones have toured annually with the exception of the 2020 pandemic year.
Endurance is now the big question for The Stones. Mick Jagger will turn 80 on 26 July, a week after the rumoured Cleveland date. He had a heart valve replaced in 2019. Keith Richards will turn 80 in December. Ronnie Wood is 76 in June.
It is unlikely that any live activity will turn into a World Tour but considering a new album will be released before mid-year, the summer of 2023/2024 may see some activity back in Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2014.
After all, Mick’s mum Eva was born on Sydney. January is also cricket season in Australia and cricket is Mick’s favourite sport. A tour, a family visit and a spot of cricket may just be the way to celebrate turning 80.

About a month since they released their latest album, Hackney Diamonds , the Rolling Stones have announced they’ll take their new music on the road next year. Fans can now officially pick up tickets online for the 16-date trek, which kicks off in April 2024.
“If they were going to drag themselves (and us) through the process again, and after such a long gap, they also must have known they’d have to make it worth everyone’s while. Shockingly, they have,” David Browne wrote in Rolling Stone ‘s review of Hackney Diamonds , the band’s first full-length project since 2005.
“A collection of bangers (old-school division) that nobody in their right mind had a right to expect in 2023, Hackney Diamonds isn’t just another new Stones album, but a vibrant and cohesive record — the first Stones album in ages you’ll want to crank more than once before filing away.”

No group embodies classic rock like The Rolling Stones. Over its six-decade career, the legendary band has defined rock ‘n’ roll with fun, energetic music rooted in the blues. Though new music genres come and go, The Rolling Stones’ simple, punchy rock sound has appealed to every new generation.
However, the band didn’t become a phenom overnight. The Rolling Stones started to build its music career before its official debut in 1962. It all began with rhythm guitarist/vocalist and frontman Mick Jagger and lead guitarist Keith Richards. The pair met when they were young while attending primary school together. Eventually, they drifted apart and encountered each other again by chance 10 years later. Thanks to their mutual friend Dick Taylor, Jagger and Richards discovered their collective love of music.
Soon enough, the three joined several bands, shaping their creative talents and honing their instrumental skills. After sparking interest among many local fans and new listeners, the group gained new members like rhythm guitarist Brian Jones, keyboardist Ian Stewart, and drummer Charlie Watts.
When 1962 arrived, Bill Wyman took Dick Taylor’s spot as bassist. The group’s success grew throughout the UK, especially with the help of tracks like “I Wanna Be Your Man” written by The Beatles. Paul McCartney and John Lennon exclusively penned the popular song and let The Rolling Stones elevate its rising reputation. Before releasing its self-titled debut album in 1964, The Rolling Stones landed chart spots in both the UK and U.S. The band was well on its way to becoming a household name.
As The Rolling Stones’ discography grew, so did the band’s popularity. Records like The Rolling Stones No. 2, 12 x 5, and The Rolling Stones, Now! laid a sturdy foundation for a future in music. However, the international smash “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” proved the band was here to stay. It sat comfortably on charts across the globe, including the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Ultimately, it cleared the way for The Rolling Stones’ next studio album, Out of Our Heads.
The Rolling Stones followed up every big hit with even more renewed vigor. It dominated the 60s thanks to numerous studio albums and certified chart-topping singles like “Paint It Black,” Ruby Tuesday,” and “Mother’s Little Helper.” Then, it took over the 70s and 80s with a signature image and sound. The Rolling Stones stayed relevant and influential in the ever-changing music climate. As the band evolved, bandmates rotated in and out, resulting in the induction of newer members such as bassist and guitarist Ronnie Wood.
As rock music changed, The Rolling Stones never lost its spark. Adaptation and evolution were crucial in helping the group keep up with the times. Over the years, it constantly reinvented itself without straying from its original roots: fast-paced, energetic rock ‘n’ roll. The Rolling Stones continued to take over every era, including the current music scene. Its most recent LP Tattoo You hit the stands in 2021 and reminded the world the group was still going strong.
Although it faced many challenges, the band has remained true to loyal listeners and provided stellar shows across the globe. Numerous sold-out tours, live TV performances, and more allow fans to witness Jagger’s eccentric yet boisterous on-stage persona. Backed up by his friends and talented bandmates, the group provides a polished experience for every dedicated concertgoer. The Rolling Stones still tours today, with no signs of stopping.
Live reviews
Sixteen hours after I left my house, and 50 years after forming as a band, The Rolling Stones took the gigantic stage at 9:30pm. The empty seats filled in quickly once Sheeran had taken his leave. At 50,000 strong, it was quite a site to see the crowd on their feet as the Stones kicked off their 3rd performance at Arrowhead Stadium (their first was ’75, their latest was in ’89) with “Start Me Up” from Tattoo You. The song is over 30 years old, but was nothing more than a baby when compared to most of the set list. “It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll” and “Tumbling Dice” set the precedent for a show that would include mostly material from before I was born. “Doom And Gloom” was the exception to the rule, but served to prove that even a mediocre song can be more than magnificent in the right hands. If I’m being honest, the main reason I was seeing The Rolling Stones was to check them off my list of legends. I had heard stories, but I couldn’t wrap my head around that fact that a bunch of 70-year-olds could still put on an epic show. Sure, the giant screens and incredible soundsystem and fireworks were to be expected, I even figured they would sound pretty good, but nothing prepared me for how animated they would be. Mick Jagger was a diva less than half his age as he strutted his shit up and down the catwalk. Wardrobe changes, grabbing phones from the crowd to take selfies, reminiscing about things that happened back in ’74…he was on point the entire night. - See more at: http://ilistensoyoudonthaveto.com/2015/07/01/the-rolling-stones-arrowhead-stadium-06-27-15/#sthash.hANemdD3.dpuf

"I know it's only Rock and Roll but I like it". The Rolling Stones "live in concert" is an experience not to be missed. From the moment, Mick, Keith and the rest of Stones hit the stage until the final note of the encore - any room - no matter what size - will be filled with an energy level that is unparalleled!
No two concerts are ever the same when it comes to the "Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the world". If you have not yet seen the Rolling Stones I encourage you to do so. I loved seeing the Rolling Stones when growing up in Toronto - at every possible venue in the Stones "home away from home".
Each tour would feature band rehearsals at places like the Toronto airport hanger or at a local Bayview North Toronto school. Many a Stones tour would kick off in Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens, CNE Stadium, Skydome and Air Canada Centre among others. Heck, when Keith Richards was busted in Toronto - he was sentenced to perform a charity concert for the CNIB in Oshawa.
I have most of the Rolling Stones catalogue of music and DVDs and have thoroughly enjoyed the groups who have played in an opening capacity with the Stones. They helped introduce us to Ike and Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, George Thorogood and the Destroyers and the White Stripes among others! You will never go wrong buying a Stones concert ticket. Make sure you do before it is too late.

Hi there. The Rolling Stones in Prague the best show ever. The concert was absolutely amazing, fantastic, super great. The performance of the Rolling stones is in the highest quality, they are the living legend,I love them for ever and wish to all of them the best off everything. Thank you for unforgettable experience. So this was about the show, but I would like to tell you my worst nightmare I also had just before the concert. I bought three tickets from Viagogo office and to my horror I find out that the tickets were not valid and they were not in database. I paid 23.000KC.So to get to the event I've had to buy another three tickets for standing. THERE WAS MORE fans off the Rolling stones with some experience. I don't what to do about the matter. So this was MY best experience and the worst. Yours Luda Horakova Krasicka 53 Prostejov Czech republic .
It doesn't matter where you sit at a Stones show, it's going to be memorable. This was my first time seeing them, much of my family have seen them multiple times. Heinz Field is an ok venue. Being so far back, the sound was just a smidge off but the atmosphere was still awesome. It rained heavily most of the day but by some great fortune, the clouds parted and the weather was perfect right before showtime. The blazed through hit after hit, with fireworks and lights and spectacle. The best thing, however, is how much Mick Jagger moves and his dancing and prancing. The dude is 72 and still has all the energy and charisma he had back in the day. It's insane. I defy anyone who can find a better showman and frontman than Mick Jagger. Keith, Ronnie, Charlie and the backing band were all incendiary. 10/10 would see them again.
It was a wonderful concert! My group and I had so much fun! Although we were not so close to the stage, thanks to the 3 gigantic screens it was possible to enjoy the concert fully. Mick Jagger has so much energy!!! They not only played most of their best songs, but invited Juanes ( one of the most famous Colombian singers to play guitarr and sing one song together with Mick. The public went crazy! At the end also invited the Javeriana Chorus (also Colombian) to sing with the group. Great!
They started the concert with Jumping Jack Flash and then played as second a song picked by the colombian public in the internet. I found that very good.
My group and I flew from Venezuela to Bogotá for the concert
The Rolling Stones rock!!!!!
LOVED IT!!!!
I've seen several live performance by the Stones on TV and while I have been amazed by their energy levels considering their ages, I also have thought at times that their performances were lacking a bit. Boy, was I wrong after seeing them live at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City! Mick Jagger melted my face off with his energy, cockiness (man, does he strut!) and powerful vocals. They were on-point for the entire show, and I thought it was cool that they brought opener Ed Sheeran onstage as well. As a 30-something male, The Rolling Stones have always been on my bucket list, and I'm glad I had a chance to see them in person. I would definitely recommend their show and would go see them again. Hopefully they keep on rocking another 10-15 years!
The doors opened at 4:45pm ( late by 45 mins). Support act ( Richard Ashcroft) didn’t come on till 7pm and played for 45 minutes and they were really good. Stones came on at 8:15pm and played till 10:30. Utterly amazing, Mick Jagger can put on a show! The rest of the guys do look really, really old. I felt for Charlie Watts he looked sore..
However, £5.20 for a can of Tennats lager ( 89p in Morrisons) come on Murrayfield, you made a mental load of money. I’ve never seen so many pissed people at a concert, but enjoying themselves.
Other reviews suggested they set was 22 songs, I counted 19 so don’t know if we were short changed because of the 1030 curfew. Great concert, T shirts £30 come on guys ...
I've seen the stone's 7 times.75 crashed gate 78 81..stpaul c.f. center.89 mnpls.metro dome. 94&97 Seattle kingdome...2006 questfield seattle. 2016 Las vegas tmobil..all one as good as the next..the last one made me cry most of the last hour i was up for 2 days. And the music the memories of friends no longer here and i just got a total rush and the music just took over. The most powerfull show. I was just so overwhelmed to still be seeing them. The one constant.. trouble times good times the stones were always in my head. Thanx mike mckay
The Rolling Stones concert was absolutely amazing. The singing, the music, the lighting, the fireworks and those large screens were great. They strutted their stuff through all the favourite numbers and some other great songs. Before you go, read the list of items not allowed inside the concert because you will lose them. Handbags larger than A5 size not allowed, including bumbags, cameras and camera bags, to name a few. All in All, everything went very smoothly, everyone loved it and we all had an amazing night, never to be forgotten.
The greatest rock n roll band in the world - No doubt about it. Mick, Keef, Charlie and Ronnie were sensational. From the opening Street Fighting Man to the encores of Gimme Shelter and Satisfaction they were as great as ever. Mick was the imperious frontman, Keith the axe wielding lunatic, Charlie the rock upon which the driving rhythms of Paint it Black are built, Ronnie the joker whose rhythm guitar convinces you the Stones play the devil’s music. Sensational just sensational. It was a privilege to be there.

Early Access to Rolling Stones U.S. Tour Tickets Now Available for AARP Members
Aarp is sponsoring stones tour ’24 hackney diamonds, and members have early access to tickets.
Alison Maxwell,
The Rolling Stones North American tour, sponsored by AARP, will kick off April 28, 2024, in Houston. Tickets go on sale for the general public Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. local time. AARP members now have access to a presale.
The band will perform in 16 cities across the U.S. and Canada, and will feature classic hits as well as music from their new album, Hackney Diamonds . The Stones last toured the U.S. in 2021 with their “No Filter” tour.
Hackney Diamonds , which just nabbed a Best Rock Song Grammy nomination for the lead single “Angry,” is the iconic band’s first set of originals since 2005’s A Bigger Bang. The title is drawn from British slang for the shards of glass left after a scofflaw smashes a windshield or window. Writing for AARP, music critic Edna Gundersen called the album “off the hook.”
AARP Membership — $12 for your first year when you sign up for Automatic Renewal
“For those who doubted the Stones could match the greatness of past glories, ‘Hackney’ will come as a gratifying surprise. It crackles with the familiar grit, tattered pomp and dirty riffs that built their brand,” Gundersen wrote.
On the album, core members Mick Jagger , 80, and guitarists Keith Richards, 79, and Ronnie Wood, 76, are joined by Matt Clifford on keyboards, Darryl Jones, 61, on bass, and new drummer Steve Jordan, 66, handpicked by the late Charlie Watts as his replacement. Watts, who died in 2021 of cancer, and original bassist Bill Wyman, 86, who left the band in 1993, appear on tracks recorded in 2019.

Rolling Stones fans in Cleveland will apparently have to wait awhile to get their satisfaction.
Last week, the trusted Rolling Stones Fan Club fan site It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll ( iorr.org ) reported rumors of a summer North American tour that would include a July 20 stop at FirstEnergy Stadium. Over the weekend, however, the site changed its tunes, reporting that, “The announcement of the Rolling Stones tour this summer has been canceled. The tour was including twelve shows in the USA and two shows in Canada. There might be a rescheduling for the fall.”
The Rolling Stones’ camp has not commented about touring plans for 2023, although guitarist Keith Richards, in a social media message last month, said that “there’s some new music on its way and hopefully we’ll get to see you.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame troupe has reportedly been working on a new album -- the first since the Grammy Award-winning covers album “Blue & Lonesome” in 2016 and the first of original material since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005 -- in New York and the Bahamas with producers Don Was and Andrew Watt.
The Stones were to bring its No Filter Tour to FirstEnergy on June 19, 2020, but that was postponed by the pandemic and ultimately canceled. The group hasn’t played in Cleveland since 2002, when its Licks Tour played at Gund Arena (now Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse).
The group did play in 2015 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. The band has performed 11 times in Cleveland, starting in June of 1964 at Public Auditorium and including the World Series of Rock in 1975 at the old Cleveland Stadium.
The Stones ranked No. 7 on Forbes magazine’s new list of 2022′s highest-paid entertainers with $98 million.-- have not played in Ohio since drummer Charlie Watts passed away in 2021 at the age of 80.
In addition to their own new music, the Stones will be the subject of an all-star “Stone Cold Country” tribute album due out March 17.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Dec. 1 via ticketmaster.com.

'I'm going to bust a gut and do it': Dolly Parton dug deep to become a 'Rockstar'
The Stones – Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood – are basking in a bit of a studio revival with “Hackney Diamonds,” their first new album since 2005 .
The album debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, making them the first act with a top 10 album each decade since the 1960s.
The single, “Angry,” is nominated for best rock song at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 4. (The band has three career wins .)
“Hackney Diamonds” is also the Stones’ first album since drummer Charlie Watts died in 2021.
The band premiered songs from the album at an intimate, invitation-only show of a few hundred people at the Racket NYC club in October, running through a handful of visceral new tracks and leaning into classics including “Shattered” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” with youthful vigor. Lady Gaga, who sings on the album track “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” joined Jagger for a thunderous duet.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — It looks like the third time is the charm as the 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festival prepares, again, for The Rolling Stones to perform.
The festival, which spans two weekends, opened Thursday with dozens of acts playing daily on 14 stages spread throughout the historic Fair Grounds race course. The Stones play next Thursday, May 2, tickets for which have long been sold out.
In 2019, festival organizers thought they had landed the legendary rock band, but the appearance was canceled because lead singer Mick Jagger had heart surgery. They tried again in 2021, but a surge in COVID-19 cases ultimately forced the fest to cancel.
Now, says festival producer Quint Davis, “It’s gonna be special.”
This will be the first time the Stones play Jazz Fest.
Opening day acts include rock bands Widespread Panic and The Beach Boys, reggae artist Stephen Marley and jazz vocalist John Boutte.
“The talent is great, the weather is projected to be good and people’s expectations are going to be met,” Davis said.
Blue skies, sunshine and temperatures in the 80s were forecast for opening day Thursday. Long lines of people were seen patiently waiting to buy big cups of iced tea, lemonade and coffee. Umbrellas, big hats and sunglasses were the accessories of the day.
Similar weather was expected for the rest of the first weekend, which runs through Sunday and showcases performances by Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Jon Batiste, country megastar Chris Stapleton, R&B singer Fantasia, rock band Heart, Cajun fiddler Amanda Shaw and The Cute Guys, jazz pianist Patrice Rushen, and blues and folk artist Ruthie Foster.
Walter Agnew of Round Lake, New York, said attending the festival had been on his bucket list since he retired from working at a chemical plant in 2020.
“COVID canceled my trip then but I finally made it here for the 2022 festival — and I came last year. This will be my third in a row,” he said.
Agnew said he’s looking forward to Stapleton’s performance on Saturday and Heart’s on Sunday — and of course The Rolling Stones next week but “you really can’t go wrong by any of the acts.”
“I’m just amazed at how they’re able to put all this entertainment together in one spot,” he said. “Of course it’s going to be good.”
Leona Reed, a Los Angeles resident, was with friends attending her first jazz festival.
“Everybody’s friendly,” she said. “I like the fact that there’s art and the artists are there.” She continued, “I love the fact that they honor each type of music and you know, that’s what’s going to bring us all together as a people.”
Ginger Schell, a New Orleans local, is a regular Jazz Fest attendee. Asked why she continues to return, Schell said laughing, “It’s everything. It’s the music. It’s the food. It’s the music!”
She said she and her family won’t be able to see next week’s performance by The Stones, noting the tickets were out of her budget.
“But we generally don’t come for any one act in particular,” she said. “We just park our gear in a spot in front of the festival stage and wander throughout the grounds and look forward to being surprised.”
Anticipation for the Stones’ performance is palpable, Davis said.
“All I’m hearing is ‘How can I get a ticket?’” he said of fans trying to see the marquee performance. “Unfortunately for some, that day sold out in like a day-and-a-half after tickets went on sale. I think people have just waited so long for this.”
The Rolling Stones in October released “ Hackney Diamonds ,” their first album of original material since 2005 and their first without drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021. Though he hasn’t seen a set list, Davis said fans can expect to hear a mix of greatest hits and new releases. No special guests are expected to perform with the Rolling Stones, but Davis said “never say never.”
“Just expect euphoria,” he said laughing. “I think maybe we’re going to need some ambulances on site because people are going to spontaneously combust from the excitement. And, they’re playing in a daylight event. They’re gonna be able to make eye contact with the audience. That’s going to create a really special bond.”
Acts on the festival’s 14 stages usually play simultaneously beginning when gates open at 11 a.m. and continuing until the music ends at 7 p.m. But the other stages will shut down next week when the Stones take the stage.
“We didn’t want to have 13 empty stages and no people in front of them when the Stones start singing favorites like '(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ and ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash,’” Davis said. “Everyone who bought a ticket for that day primarily bought one to see The Stones.”
Davis said tickets for the festival’s other days remain available and can be purchased online through their website.
Much of Jazz Fest celebrates the Indigenous music and culture of New Orleans and Louisiana but the music encompasses nearly every style imaginable: blues, R&B, gospel, Cajun, Zydeco, Afro-Caribbean, folk, Latin, rock, rap, contemporary and traditional jazz, country, bluegrass and everything in between.
Colombia’s rhythms, from music to dance and food, also will be highlighted this year as part of the festival’s cultural exchange. Close to 200 Colombian artists are scheduled to participate, including headliners Bomba Estéreo on Saturday, ChocQuibTown’s lead singer Goyo in a guest appearance with local band ÌFÉ on Sunday, and salsa legends Grupo Niche closing the celebration on May 5.
And don’t forget the food. During the festival, food available on site includes crawfish bread, pecan catfish meuniere and catfish almondine, cochon de lait and turducken po-boys, boudin, crawfish étouffée, jambalaya, crawfish Monica and shrimp and grits.
