S Club Recall ‘Delirious’ Hollywood Days and Tease U.S. Reunion Tour: ‘It’s a Tribute to Paul’

By Tim Chan

One of the most popular British pop groups of all time are coming back to America with a new reunion tour , new music and a newfound perspective on their more-than two decades of success.

S Club (formerly known as S Club 7 ) bring their “Good Times Tour” to North America this winter, kicking off February 16 in Toronto before making their way to Boston, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles (find tickets on Ticketmaster or sites like VividSeats.com ).

Now using the moniker “S Club,” following the sudden passing of original member Paul Cattermole in April and Hannah Spearritt’s departure from the group, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara and Rachel Stevens say their “Good Times Tour” is meant to pay tribute to the group’s enduring legion of fans, while also paying tribute to Cattermole’s memory.

Rolling Stone caught up with Barrett, Mcintosh, O’Meara and Stevens (Lee was unavailable on the day) to chat about reuniting for the new tour, favorite memories of filming their TV show in America, and why the “S Club Party” isn’t stopping anytime soon.

You all just finished the UK run of your “Good Times” reunion tour. What was it like being back together again?

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

Barrett: I think we appreciate it more — I know I definitely do. Because when you’re young, it’s all very manic and you’re in this sort of bubble and you don’t think about it too much. Whereas now, we can actually appreciate it — and each other — for how amazing this is.

Mcintosh: I’d say personally, this has been my most favorite tour out of all the tours we’ve done. Obviously we miss Paul and Hannah, but everything about this tour, from the visuals to the choreography to the styling is incredible.

S Club reunited in 2015 for the “Bring It All Back” tour. Whose idea was it to come back together this time around?

Mcintosh: I believe it was Simon Fuller, our manager. He emailed us around the end of 2020 and just said, ‘Hey guys, your 25th anniversary is approaching? How do you fancy doing a 25-year anniversary tour?’ And no one was in doubt. Everybody was just like, ‘Yes! Absolutely!’

Had you all kept in touch over the years?

S Club Opens Reunion Tour With Paul Cattermole Tribute: 'You'll Never Be Forgotten'

S club 7 celebrate paul cattermole on first new song in 20 years 'these are the days', s club 7’s paul cattermole died of cardiac arrhythmia and other heart issues: death certificate.

Stevens: It’s been really special coming back together. As you know, a lot of us have got kids now, and it’s been really lovely coming back and sort of getting to know each other again, but as grownups and in different stages of our lives.

You’re officially touring the U.S. for the first time, but you spent many years here filming your TV shows and doing promotional spots. What do you remember about being here?

Stevens: I mean, we probably spent more time in America than we did in the UK, starting off in Miami, and then filming two series in LA. We were up at the crack of dawn, we’d finish as the sun was going down, and we’d sometimes do night shoots too. I just remember how delirious we all were when it got so late and we’d just start laughing and having so much fun.

O’Meara: Me and Rachel did a lot of shopping.

Stevens: We did a lot of shopping. The shopping was good in L.A.

Mcintosh: Where did you guys do your shopping the most? I was in the Beverly Center quite a lot.

Stevens: I loved The Grove. The Grove was like my happy place.

Barrett: I remember we went to Gucci on Rodeo Drive, and we spent an absolute fortune. I was like, ‘Let’s just buy something really, really expensive and then don’t panic.’

What did you buy?

I got a pair of boots that were like, ridiculously expensive . I think they were like, two-grand back then or something.. whoops. But they looked great. I still have them by the way.

Bradley, I heard you love American food?

Mcintosh: I’m just a foodie in general. But I’m definitely hitting Roscoe’s [Chicken & Waffles], that’s for sure. I hope it’s still as good as it used to be. I was dating a girl back then, and she took me to Roscoe’s one day and it was mind blowing. What else did I like? Carl’s Jr. They had this sourdough burger with Swiss cheese and I loved that [laughs]. I’m scared to go back [to America]. I’ve lost all this weight and I’m scared I’m gonna come back a stone heavier.

All four of you have kids now. What do they think of seeing ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’ up on stage?

A lot of fans grew up listening to S Club 7 as kids — what do your kids listen to these days?

O’Meara: My son actually really shocks me. He’s got really unusual musical tastes. He listens to really old-school singers.

Mcintosh: I can imagine that.

Barrett: He’s like you — an old soul.

O’Meara: Yeah, he’s an old soul. He’ll listen to jazz, he loves Amy Winehouse, he’ll be listening to Frank Sinatra, but then he really loves the rapper, Dave .

Your reunion tour sold out in the UK and tickets are moving quickly for the North American dates. Why do you think people are still connecting with S Club so much?

Stevens: There are so many incredible pop artists out there, but I think what did separate us from everyone was our music — it was so positive and all about lifting each other up. What was so special about meeting all of our fans this time around, is that they were kids and now they’re all grown up. And they tell us that we helped them through some really hard times in their lives; we were such a positive outlet. And I think we are all about kindness and love and fun and energy and positivity. And that’s quite rare.

O’Meara: That’s the thing — there aren’t a lot of bands that sort of do that anymore. Maybe like —

Barrett: I think maybe like Harry Styles and Taylor Swift? I think they are quite positive people. I also really wanted to get Taylor Swift tickets but because we literally were also touring, we didn’t get a chance.

Ahead of your North American dates, what can fans expect from the show and what do you hope they take away from it?

Barrett: It really takes you on a journey. We’ve got the fun and energy and sort of like a club concept, but then quite a bit of the show is for Paul as well. It’s a a tribute to Paul. So it’s a real journey. And it’s so special.

(In an email, Lee adds, “Paul was and will always be part of S Club – he was so funny, crazy, loving and a great friend- and that spirit pretty much sums up the vibe of the tour. It’s what S Club is all about.”)

Why Is Everybody Talking About the Hawk Tuah Girl?

Trump allies urge him not to be a ‘raging asshole’ at debate, shifty shellshock, frontman of crazy town, dead at 49, after a near-fatal crash, xavi is seizing this moment.

Mcintosh: It’s incredible that our fans were really young when we first came out. And now that they brought their kids along, I got a few comments and messages from people saying, ‘It was so nice to bring my daughter along or my son along, and now they’re big fans of your music.’ So you know, we’re reaching out to a new generation.

O’Meara: We’re excited. To have the opportunity to actually tour one of the biggest places in the world is incredible. I think every English band’s dream is to go and tour America. So the fact that we get to do it 25 years later, is quite unbelievable.

After 25 years, S Club is bringing it all back to the stage with their 'Good Times' tour

S Club on their "Good Times" tour.

There ain't no party like an S Club party — and U.S. fans are about to find out once again.

The year was 1999 and seven British singers — consisting of Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Steven, Hannah Spearritt and the late Paul Cattermole — were cruising in Miami, enjoying the beach life while performing choreographed moves and singing, “ Don’t stop, never give up/Hold your head high and reach the top/Let the world see what you have got, ” from their debut single “ Bring It All Back .”

If you were a ‘90s kid, S Club (then known as S Club 7) was the catchy and bubbly girl/guy group that not only filled the airwaves but your TV screen with their series “S Club 7 in Miami,” in which they played fictionalized versions of themselves.

“We’ve been going through a lot of old footage recently,” Lee, sitting next to Barrett, Lee, McIntosh, O’Meara and Stevens, tells TODAY.com via Zoom in England. “So that’s brought back loads of fond memories — some that have been forgotten, actually, in the back of my mind somewhere.”

S Club is embarking on the U.S. and Canada leg of their "Good Times" tour in November 2023.

The five singers are all in their pre-show attire, consisting of casual T-shirts and jeans, before they get glammed up in bright-colored leotards for the ladies and sequins for the guys.

"We've actually been wearing less clothes than we've ever worn, you know, but in a classy way. It's very glam," Barrett says, adding that Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez were their inspiration.

Lounging on velvet dark grey couches backstage ahead of their show, they will take the stage in just hours to perform their biggest hits to screaming fans. The nostalgia runs deep for the group and the early aughts.

Bringing it all back to the stage and their fans

Twenty-five years since they debuted, the five members reunited to celebrate their anniversary milestone with their “S Club: The Good Times Tour.” They’re also honoring their late group member Cattermole, who died of heart-related issues in April at the age 46, less than two months after they  announced the reunion tour . Spearritt is not participating.

After releasing their debut album, “S Club,” in October 1999, their show continued to air on Fox Family (now Freeform) for four seasons until 2002. Four albums later, hit singles like “S Club Party,” “Natural” and “Never Had a Dream Come True,” which reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard Chart, along with various TV and film projects, they called it quits in 2003. S Club reunited in various capacities over the last two decades, but this was meant to be their full comeback.

“You never really know,” Steven says about reuniting. “We reunited in 2015, and then things bubbled up every now and again. But this being our 25th anniversary, we got an email from (group creator) Simon Fuller, and it’s all about timing, isn’t it? We’re all in that place where we were just really ready to come back ... There’s so much love, and that nostalgia for people I think is really important right now and it was the perfect time.”

A reunion tour was a year in the making — and filled with heartbreak

Planning for the 25th anniversary tour began in November 2022 while the official news was announced in February of this year. At the time, all seven original members were on board and only touring in Europe in October. They later announced dates in the U.S. and Canada, which have since been rescheduled for 2024.

On April 7, the group revealed Cattermole’s death in a statement shared on their social media. A month later, the five members shared tearful memories of their “brother” while announcing that Spearritt wasn’t going to be joining the tour. They also renamed it “The Good Times Tour” in tribute to Cattermole, who sang “Good Times” on their third album.

The group shares — and as fans have seen on their social media — that there’s a section of the show that’s dedicated to Cattermole.

“It’s old footage and things like that, which is really emotional and a lot of fans have found it very emotional at the same time,” Lee says. “It’s a celebration of him rather than, it’s not doom and gloom.”

"Paul has been such a massive part in this tour in every single way." Rachel Stevens

Stevens adds that Cattermole has been “such a massive part in this tour in every single way” and that he’s always on their mind.

O’Meara remembers getting “quite emotional” during the opening night of the tour on Oct. 12 in Manchester, England.

“Just before we actually walked out to that crowd, because I think that’s when it suddenly sort of hit all of us, like, ‘Wow, there’s a lot of people out there and they’re still screaming out for S Club,’” she says. “It can get quite overwhelming sometimes, I think we just feel so lucky.”

These are the days we’ll always remember

Aside from reminiscing on their early days and being back on stage, there's a new generation of S Clubers. The ladies are now mothers and are excited for their children to see them on stage.

"I'm really excited because this is gonna be the first time Roman is seeing me on stage with the band and on this scale," Barrett says of her 7-year-old son. "So he's really excited."

Stevens echoes the sentiments when it comes to her two daughters, Amelie, 12, and Minnie, 9. O'Meara is also mother to 15-year-old son Lenny. They brought out their kids to their Oct. 27 show in London.

Earlier this year, S Club released their first song in 20 years titled “These Are The Days” in honor of Cattermole. Pretty soon, fans will get even more new music.

“There will definitely be new music next year. We don’t know what it is yet, but that’s something we’ve all talk about,” Lee teases, with Barrett adding, “And we’ve always done TV stuff. So yeah, maybe a documentary, who knows.”

In the meantime, the singers are excited to come back to the U.S. “and connect with the American fans,” McIntosh says.

There will definitely be good times and maybe a few tears during the show.

It's been a year of reflection and taking care of one's mental and physical health, they say. But above all else, they've enjoyed spending the family they've created.

“As a group, I think we now are closer than we’ve ever been. Before, it was our job, it was our life, but after 20 years you realize we’re connected together forever for the rest of our lives,” Lee says.

“There’s only seven people in the world that know what it’s like to be in S Club 7 and we’re the guys. We always had that connection with each other and I think we sort of, now that we’re older, time has passed, we realized that we are this little family.”

S Club 7 then and now: what happened to the cheesy pop sensations before and after their big reunion?

From Casualty to a Polish chart-topper.

S Club 7, 1999

"Ghetto boys, make some noise! Hoochie mamas, show your nanas!"

The kings and queens of '90s and '00s pop cheese, S Club 7, made a triumphant return with their sold-out Bring It All Back 2015 tour.

It was the reunion that fans waited well over a decade to happen, and the group looked like they had a blast being in each other's company again.

But since then, the seven singers have once again gone their separate ways. With that in mind, Digital Spy takes a look at what the S Clubbers did pre and post-reunion.

1. Rachel Stevens ("Wanna see Rachel do her thing?")

Rachel Stevens: Then and Now

The most recognisable member of the group and music-wise, the only member of S Club to have any real success following their split. Stevens was offered a six-figure solo record deal, and immediately impressed with her seriously good debut single 'Sweet Dreams My LA Ex'.

Away from the music, she's done a guest mentor stint on X Factor New Zealand, cameoed in Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo , had two children with husband Alex Bourne and was crowned FHM 's Sexiest Woman of all Time.

After the reunion

After coming off tour, Rachel continued spinning her big red chair on The Voice Ireland alongside Saturdays star Una Foden, former Westlife crooner Kian Egan and Bressie. She also was a guest on James Corden's Sky One panel show A League Of Their Own .

2. Paul Cattermole ("Paul's getting down on the floor")

Paul Cattermole of S Club 7: Then and Now

Cattermole was the first member of the band to leave back in 2002, deciding that he'd had enough of pop music and heading off with his own nu-metal group Skua.

They never troubled the charts, but fair play to Paul, the group are still plugging away and tweeting still. The only problem is that they have under 300 Twitter followers to Paul's 20,000-plus followers.

Despite being the first to leave S Club, he was also part of the first mini-reunion in 2008, when he teamed up with Jo and Bradley for pubs and clubs shows and dates as S Club 3 and S Club Party.

The trio's appearance on Aussie breakfast TV in 2012 went viral for its sheer awfulness. You can't unsee it.

But Paul redeemed himself with a rousing rendition of 'Reach' on his acoustic guitar during the Bring It All Back 2015 tour. Since the second S Club wave, the band's best dancer has turned his hand to DJ-ing, as well as a touring stint in The Rocky Horror Picture Show back in January 2016.

There was also a brief romantic reunion with one of his bandmates, but more on that in a minute...

3. Hannah Spearritt ("Hannah's screaming out for more")

Hannah Spearritt in 2000 and 2016

Hannah has had the most surprising post-S Club career, heading off into the world of acting.

She had plenty of misses ( Seed of Chucky , anyone?), but also big success with her role in ITV's primetime big-budget drama Primeval . Her role as Abby Maitland lasted five series, and won her a loyal selection of cult TV fans.

She split from her long-term partner and Primeval co-star Andrew-Lee Potts in 2013, and before their relationship, lest we forget, Hannah dated her former S Club bandmate Paul Cattermole.

After rekindling their friendship on the Bring It All Back tour, Paul and Hannah gave it another shot. Sadly it only lasted six months before they split for a second time. It was all very Ross and Rachel from Friends .

More recently, you can see Hannah on Albert Square in her guest stint as Kandice Taylor.

4. Jon Lee ("Jon's looking for romance")

Jon Lee of S Club 7: Then and now

Squeaky-clean Jon Lee has maintained his good guy image since the bad split, spending a large chunk of his time with theatre productions.

He played Marius in a West End production of Les Misérables in 2004 and also toured the UK with musical shows such as Jersey Boys , Love Shack and Teen Scream . He's also has TV and movie appearances in Casualty and Telstar .

He didn't quit music entirely, recording a debut solo album Fallen Angel in 2013. It didn't set the charts on fire.

Jon came out as gay in a Gay Times interview in 2010, revealing that he had told his family and closest friends "at a very young age".

The 33-year-old was by far the most polished dancer on the Bring It All Back tour last year, and the renewed interest in S Club 7 earned him a spot on Attitude's annual 100 hot men list. He placed above James Franco and Glee 's Darren Criss at No.90.

Oh and he also revealed that he often gets mistaken for a member of fellow '90s pop group Steps. Amazing.

5. Tina Barrett ("Tina's doing her dance")

tina barrett of s club 7

Tina Barrett was keen to kick-start a solo career post S Club, but it seems that the closest she got was recording a cover of Rod Stewart's 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?' with Natasha Bedingfield and Atomic Kitten's Liz McClarnon (as part of the Girls of FHM ).

After keeping a low profile following the ear-bleeding Rod butchering (we don't blame her), Tina finally released her music video for solo track 'Fire' in September 2012.

Tina also appeared in the music video for Russell Grant's version of 'The Clapping Song' (we're still perturbed by this) and as the main performer in Navin Kundra's song 'Shudaayi'.

After "doing her dance" in arenas up and down the country, Tina bagged herself a panto role in Dick Whittington alongside Paul Danan. She's also been doing student night shows with Jo and Bradley, either as an S Club 2 or an S Club 3.

6. Jo O'Meara ("Jo, she's got the flow")

Jo O'Meara S Club 7: Then and Now

Arguably the strongest vocalist in the band, Jo O'Meara surprised many S Club fans by being pipped to the post by Rachel Stevens on releasing solo material first. O'Meara finally came back in September 2005 with debut single 'What Hurts the Most', reaching number 13 in the UK Singles Chart. This was followed shortly by album 'Relentless' – which, sadly for Jo, had poor sales.

In 2006, O'Meara took part in BBC reality show Just the Two of Us with the subsequently disgraced (and now subsequently redeemed ) soap star Chris Fountain, with a heartfelt rendition of 'Never Had a Dream Come True' (Chris Fountain is surprisingly good, he probably should have stuck to singing rather than rapping).

But Jo caused controversy when she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in January 2007, and along with Danielle Lloyd and the late Jade Goody, was accused of racist and bullying behaviour toward fellow contestant Shilpa Shetty. This resulted in a record number of complaints to Ofcom and substantial media coverage.

Before all seven finally reunited, Jo performed with fellow S Club members Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole at Butlins resorts and various universities. Then, in 2008, she welcomed a baby boy, called Lenny.

Most recently, Jo has been putting her energy into animal rights activism. This coincided with her auctioning off all of her personal S Club 7 memorabilia – signed of course – on eBay. A movie script for S Club's feature long effort Seeing Double went for £155.

7. Bradley McIntosh ("Wanna see Bradley do his thing?")

Bradley Mcintosh S Club 7: Then and Now

Following the S Club split, Bradley attempted to form another group called Upper Street in 2006 on MTV's Totally Boyband . Although a pop supergroup featuring disbanded members of 911, Steps, Another Level and New Kids on the Block sounds amazing to us, their first (and last) single 'The One' was a complete flop by comparison, scraping into the UK Top 40.

If that wasn't bad enough, he then took part later that year in a Celebrity Sport Relief boxing match against Jack Osbourne and lost.

While his own solo career didn't take off in the way he'd hoped, Bradley has also written and produced songs for the now-defunct JLS, Gak Jonze and ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena.

After S Club's tour in 2015, Bradley actually had a No.1 hit in Poland when his song for Bars and Melody hit the top spot.

He was also a guest judge on CBBC's Got What It Takes , after admitting that he would totally be up for appearing on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here ! Make it happen, ITV!

S Club 7 – Bring It All Back

s club bring it all back tour

Released: 7 th June 1999

Writers: Eliot Kennedy / Mike Percy / S Club 7 / Tim Lever

Peak position: #1

Chart run: 1-2-5-5-6-11-16-18-24-28-34-42-56-65-72

It may seem a somewhat bizarre notion, but S Club 7 were arguably – at least initially – not the most important aspect in the launch of S Club 7 . What Bring It All Back really marked was Simon Fuller’s return to chart prominence having been sacked by the Spice Girls two years earlier.

Much had changed in the pop industry during that time, and S Club 7 ’s launch in many ways was a hybrid of the key elements for success. The market for girl groups and boy bands was heavily saturated. But boy/girl groups…well, there was Steps . Elsewhere, the Fuller dynasty had already turned the Spice Girls into a box office phenomenon (commercially, if not critically). But movies are expensive to make; the positive reception to Cleopatra ’s Comin’ Atcha TV series earlier that year created a much more appealing alternative. Why spend money getting pop fans to come to you when instead you could go directly to their living rooms? Bring It All Back was thus much more than a debut single; it marked a full-on simultaneous multimedia takeover by Simon Fuller via S Club 7 .

The premise of Miami 7 was to position S Club 7 as a struggling pop act in America. While one may initially have questioned whether the group needed to contain seven members, the show allowed Kim Fuller to create distinct personalities for Tina, Jon, Paul, Hannah, Bradley, Rachel and Jo in much the same vein as those earlier adopted by the Spice Girls . And it’s a testament to how well the project fared because nobody ever really questioned the mathematics behind S Club 7 , even when lead singers naturally emerged and became more prominent vocalists. Bring It All Back was installed as the theme tune to Miami 7 and it was only a matter of time before the track was released as a single in its own right.

While Bring It All Back is an undeniably catchy pop song, it’s also a mission statement. S Club 7 certainly weren’t exempt from the pop music tropes of love and heartbreak; but more so than any other act of the time, the commonly recurring topic within their music was empowerment and platonic peer camaraderie, which is what the song is about. The lyrics are a collection of moral affirmations that had probably been heard by most of the group’s target market at some point: “ If people try to put you down, just walk on by don’t turn around” and “Imagination is the key, ’cause you are your own destiny” . S Club 7’s launch might have been masterfully calculated, but launching a group with the ethos of acceptance and positivity is not a bad thing.

In terms of the vocals, the song is carved fairly consistently to give the four ladies a turn in the spotlight. Jo O’Meara and Rachel Stevens emerge early on as the more prominent vocalists, but Tina Barrett and Hannah Spearritt also land half a verse each (it’d be mid-2003 before they got a similar opportunity). As bubblegum pop songs go, Bring It All Back ticks all the boxes. The track zips along at a pace that ensures its ’90s teen audience – with increasingly short attention spans – are continually occupied with catchy “ Na na na” post-choruses, shifts in melody and amplified beats announcing the next element, such as the lead-in to the chorus: “ So don’t you stop trying” .

Bring It All Back’s finest moment though is reserved for the final minute when it drops – you guessed it – an incredible key-change. The lead-up is glorious, as a chorus plays out with minimal production and gradually builds back, before catapulting at the last minute into a completely different key, with ad-libs that tear a hole in the fabric of pop music. Jo O’Meara’s soaring ad-libs are the most technically impressive element, but it’s Rachel Stevens ’s “ Don’t STOP; don’t STOP” ad-libs that fully slayed back in the ’90s. The one downside to Bring It All Back’s euphoric climax is that it renders everything before it somewhat functional; it’s still a perfectly enjoyable pop song, but perhaps more so than any other song in the S Club 7 canon, it’s a means to a very satisfying end.

As if to further emphasise the synergistic approach adopted by Bring It All Back , the accompanying music video is part performance and part Miami 7 compilation. It works incredibly well, and kudos to whoever was tasked with the painstaking job of finding clips from the 13 episodes of the show that matched the energy and tempo of the video. It ties together very effectively. Spliced together with a group dance sequence, the Bring It All Back video captures S Club 7 ’s personality and neatly positioned them as an even sunnier, aspirational alternative to the existing pop acts of the time. It wasn’t a high concept or cost debut video, but in terms of impact, it had the desired effect, going into heavy rotation on the music channels and no doubt steering viewers who weren’t already hooked on Miami 7 to seek it out.

By the time Bring It All Back was released, there was no question it would be a hit; only by what margin. And what better way to firmly assert S Club 7 as a dominant pop force than with a chart battle that generated headlines? Going up against Madonna ’s Beautiful Stranger was a bold move, but it paid off. Bring It All Back shifted 190,000 copies (55,000 more than Madonna ) to debut at #1. The track was a massive success, selling 623,600 copies and ending 1999 as the 11 th biggest hit of the year. Since then, its total sales have further improved; the addition of streaming and downloads means Bring It All Back is now a million-seller (1.036 million copies) and S Club 7 ‘s third biggest single overall.

Pop music had a significant new act, and Simon Fuller was firmly back where he belonged. More importantly, there’s a sense that – for better or for worse – this time he was firmly in control and had a long-term plan to stay there.

Korn Ferry Tour's Memorial Health Championship returns this week. All you need to know

Last year, Paul Barjon held off Jackson Suber to win the Korn Ferry Tour's Memorial Health Championship , presented by LRS, at Panther Creek Country Club by a stroke in an exciting — albeit, weather-delayed — finish.

It was Barjon's first win on the Korn Ferry Tour in three years. That win helped catapult the French native onto the PGA Tour this season.

Who will be the next player to win Springfield and possibly earn a PGA Tour card? That question will be answered at the conclusion of the final round on Sunday. But there are enough questions that can be answered ahead of time.

Tickets to the event

Free tickets are available at https://www.memorialhealthchampionship.com , courtesy of Visit Springfield . Those tickets are good for one of the tournament's four days, starting on Thursday. Those tickets also provide spectators access to the terrace on the clubhouse patio and the bleachers on the 18th green.

A different alternative for fans who have a competitive itch themselves might be the VIP gaming lounge. For $150 per person, per day, tickets to the private gaming lounge between the Nos. 9 and 18 greens include a lunch buffet and alcohol.

Schedule of events

On Wednesday, the LRS Pro-Am will take place. The course is closed to the public.

On Thursday and Friday, there are two sessions. The first tee times, on either the No. 1 or No. 10 hole, will be from 6:45 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. The afternoon tee times will go from 11:55 a.m. until 1:55 p.m.

Tee times for Saturday and Sunday begin at 7:10 a.m. from the No. 1 tee. The champion will be crowned immediately following Sunday's final round.

Park and ride

Fans need to park at Landmark Ford , at 2401 Prairie Crossing Dr., in Springfield. Air-conditioned shuttle busses will drop fans off at Panther Creek and give fans a ride back to their vehicles after the event. Parking is free. The shuttles begin providing transportation at 6 a.m. The final shuttle leaves Panther Creek an hour after play ends each day.

Weather forecast

According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln , as of Tuesday, fans can expect to enjoy sun and an 84-degree high temperature on Thursday. On Friday, the high increases to 88 with a 40% chance of thunderstorms with 60% chance of storms overnight. On Saturday, temperatures could reach nearly 90 degrees with a 50% chance of storms. Sunday could cool down to a high of 82 with mostly sunny conditions.

On-site purchases

All concession stands will accept cash or card. However, there will be no ATM on the golf course grounds. No outside food or drink will be allowed.

What not to bring

The PGA Tour has a bag policy. Clear gallon bags, clear bags smaller than 12"x6"x12" and other, non-see through bags smaller than 6"x6"x6". For more information, go to the spectator information page on the tournament website .

The U.S. Naval Institute’s news service reported, citing an anonymous official, that the Eisenhower would be returning to Norfolk after combat the Navy says is its most intense since World War II.

Two U.S. officials, later speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss ship movements, confirmed the Eisenhower had been ordered home and already had reached the Mediterranean Sea. It wasn’t immediately clear when the ship would return.

The report said an aircraft carrier operating in the Pacific would be taking the Eisenhower’s place.

The closest American aircraft carrier known to be operating in Asia is the USS Theodore Roosevelt. The Roosevelt anchored Saturday in Busan, South Korea, amid Seoul’s ongoing tensions with North Korea.

Flight-tracking data analyzed by the AP showed a Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopter associated with the Eisenhower flying above the Mediterranean Sea just off the coast of Port Said, Egypt, on Saturday.

The Eisenhower, which departed Naval Station Norfolk in October, repeatedly had been targeted by false attack claims by the Houthis during its time in the Red Sea. Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, a Houthi military spokesman, claimed another attack Saturday on the carrier — but again provided no evidence to support it.

Meanwhile, an attack by Yemen’s Houthi rebels targeted a commercial ship traveling through the Gulf of Aden but apparently caused no damage, authorities said Saturday, in the latest strike on the shipping lane by the group.

The Houthi attack comes after the sinking this week of the ship Tutor, which marked what appears to be a new escalation by the Iranian-backed Houthis in their campaign of strikes on ships in the vital maritime corridor over the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip.

The captain of the commercial ship targeted late Friday saw “explosions in the vicinity of the vessel,” the British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center said. A later briefing by the U.S.-overseen Joint Maritime Information Center said the vessel initially reported two explosions off its port side and a third one later.

“The vessel was not hit and sustained no damage,” the center said. “The vessel and crew are reported to be safe and are proceeding to their next port of call.”

The Houthis, who have held Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, since 2014, claimed the attack Saturday night. Saree identified the vessel targeted as the bulk carrier Transworld Navigator.

The Houthis have launched more than 60 attacks targeting specific vessels and fired off other missiles and drones in their campaign that has killed a total of four sailors. They have seized one vessel and sunk two since November. A U.S.-led airstrike campaign has targeted the Houthis since January, with a series of strikes May 30 killing at least 16 people and wounding 42 others, the rebels say.

In March, the Belize-flagged Rubymar carrying fertilizer became the first to sink in the Red Sea after taking on water for days following a rebel attack.

The Houthis have maintained that their attacks target ships linked to Israel, the United States or Britain. However, many of the ships attacked have little or no connection to the Israel-Hamas war.

Having grown into a leadership role within the squad, Ben Chilwell believes that if Chelsea can continue to show the same consistency that served us well at the end of the season then we can soon bring silverware back to Stamford Bridge.

Ben Chilwell was one of several Chelsea players who had his 2023/24 campaign disrupted by injury, limiting his opportunities to make an impact on the pitch and making it difficult for the Blues to find a consistent line-up over the course of the season.

At times that was reflected in the team’s performances, as despite some impressive results, we struggled to show our full potential on a regular basis. There were clear signs of improvement in the closing stages of our campaign, though, as five Premier League wins in a row led to us securing European football for next season.

- Click here to become a Chelsea member !

It is those performances that Chilwell is focusing on, knowing if we can show the same form from the start of next season, the quality at our disposal will make the Blues genuine contenders for silverware.

‘It was kind of the question mark the whole season, us having that consistency as a team,’ he said. ‘I think that, especially in the last month, it looked like it had turned a corner, which is massive because we know inside the changing room that on our day we can beat anyone.

‘The squad we've got is world class, we just needed that consistency. If we can try and get that, the sky's the limit with this group. It's normal. This is a new team that has been put together, with a lot of players that hadn’t played in this league before.

‘Of course we need to win matches, but realistically it was maybe going to be a bit of an inconsistent season, just due to those circumstances. It looks like, consistency-wise, we started to turn a corner and I think that is a massive confidence boost for us, going into next season.’

‘Next season I want to win trophies with Chelsea. I'm fortunate enough to be one of the players here that's won trophies here before and I want the other players to be able to experience that as well. That's the next step that this group needs to take.’

Those previous triumphs arrived when Chilwell was part of the squad which won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in quick succession. He was one of just four players from that side who were also part of the team last season, which is now down to three following the departure of Thiago Silva.

As such, the left-back feels a responsibility to use that experience to help the younger members of the current squad, with many playing in English football for the first time, and it is a role he his beginning to enjoy, even if he admits it was initially unfamiliar to him.

‘My role here has evolved a lot,’ Ben explains. ‘When I joined I was 23 years old and probably one of the younger players in the squad. So I went onto the pitch with a bit more freedom, because I had the older, experienced players around me who were guiding me.

‘But now I'm the one welcoming new lads and that has been good for me personally and it’s good to grow that way as a footballer with the leadership side of things. Last season especially I tried to guide the younger players on and off the pitch, talking more in meetings, at half-time, before games, after games.

‘I’m just being more of a vocal character and trying to guide our ship a bit more. It’s definitely been something that has helped me grow as an individual and as a player, 100 per cent.’

Chilwell’s experience and leadership will be important when preparations begin for the 2024/25 campaign during a pre-season tour of the USA, when he will hope to help lay the foundations for a trophy-winning season for Chelsea.
