$uicideboy$ Announce “Grey Day Tour 2024” At Little Caesars Arena October 2

(DETROIT – April 3, 2024) – New Orleans duo $uicideboy$ have announced the schedule for their renowned annual “Grey Day Tour” in 2024. Rap cousins Ruby da Cherry and $crim will embark on a 41-date arena and amphitheater tour across North America including a performance at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. The opening acts for the tour include Denzel Curry, Pouya, HAARPER, Shakewell, and Ekkstacy.

This year for “Grey Day Tour 2024,” $uicideboy$ have partnered with PLUS1 for something very near and dear to the group: mental health. $1 per ticket will go towards helping those that need it the most. Ruby da Cherry and $crim are very excited about this partnership, and this is only the beginning of their plans to give back to those that have given them so much.

Since its inception in 2019, the “Grey Day Tour” has emerged as a standout and one of the “absolute coolest” summer tours, uniting rap and hardcore genres, while also serving as a launching pad for the first national tours for many critically acclaimed artists as well as showcasing artists from their independent label G59 Records. According to Billboard , the “Grey Day Tour” has propelled the $uicideboy$ into the Top 20 rankings of highest-grossing hip-hop touring acts of all time.

Coinciding with the tour announcement, the group has revealed the lead track “Us Vs Them” from their eagerly awaited next full-length album, titled New World Depression , set to release on June 14. On “Us Vs Them,” the $uicideboy$ delve into facing tough challenges and feeling disconnected from society. Ruby da Cherry and $crim deliver verses about coping with personal struggles and maintaining one’s identity in a challenging world. $uicideboy$ Announce Tour With Code Orange and Knocked Loose

$uicideboy$  are kingpins of the trap-metal and emo-rap world, but the New Orleans duo are avid heavy music fans who frequently tap hardcore bands like Turnstile and Trash Talk to open for their big amphitheater tours. This summer, the pair are heading out on a 40-date trek in support of their new album, Sing Me a Lullaby My Sweet Temptation , and they're bringing along an eclectic slew of openers ranging from alt-rap mainstays like JPEGMAFIA and Ski Mask the Slump God, to metallic hardcore titans  Code Orange  and  Knocked Loose .

Ski Mask, Maxo Kream and recent Limp Bizkit tourmate $not (the rapper, not the defunct 90s nu-metal band) will be playing every date of the tour that begins in August and wraps up in October, but select legs will also feature the two aforementioned hardcore bands as well as JPEGMAFIA.

One look at the underground rap duo known as Suicideboys (styled $UICIDEBOY$) and you won’t’ be surprised that they’re from New Orleans.

Just check out their whole vibe, from horror movie imagery to deep occult symbolism, and you can easily imagine this act emerging from the dark corners of the Big Easy’s old school voodoo traditions.

Looking at Suicideboys’ full catalog of hundreds of releases over a seven-year period, not to mention their side projects, guest appearances, alter egos, more collaborations and singles, is all it takes to understand the band’s incredible output.

When you ask fans what all the buzz is about, you’ll hear a lot of answers. The dark imagery and stark nature of their lyrics hits home with lots of people struggling with demons. The make-it-happen roots of Suicideboys’ story makes their art feel authentic and uncut compared to flashier pop acts.

Plus, there’s no denying that this pair are serious sonic explorers, and hip hop is far from the only influence on their relentlessly bass-heavy explorations of the depth of the soul. From heavy beats to ethereal atmospherics, these cousins weave soundscapes which captivate the imagination and inspire fans everywhere.

Starting out as family – Scrim (styled $crim) and Ruby da Cherry are cousins – the Suicideboys were always tight on a personal level. Their mutual love for music helped carry them through the development of their careers.

Having to work different jobs as they leveled up their DJing skills, both explored other genres on the way to their hip hop fame. Punk rock played a huge role in Ruby da Cherry’s musical evolution, while Scrim got into some serious singer/songwriter work even as he continued to practice DJing.

Once the pair got going together, they went big. Suicideboys started recording and self-releasing tracks back in 2014 with the EP Kill Yourself Part I: The $uicide $aga, debuting on SoundCloud and Bandcamp. This project blew up bigger than anybody could imagine, with at least nineteen sequel EP’s in the $uicide $aga series to date. But their big underground breakthrough was with 2015’s $outh $ide $uicide,” a collaboration with rapper Pouya.

That EP put Suicideboys on the map, paving the way for more. Their next big collab, Radical $uicide, with EDM superstar producer Getter, climbed into the top 20 on the Billboard rap charts. In 2018, after already releasing dozens of albums worth of tracks, Suicideboys released their first official full-length album I Want to Die in New Orleans. With this one, they broke into the Billboard 200, peaking at number nine while still working under their own record label imprint, G*59.

In 2019, the cousins got serious on the road, embarking on their first nationwide tour. The Grey Day Tour included guests like Trash Talk and Pouya and only increased their following.

After taking a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, $uicideboy$ broke through in 2021 with a second full length album. Long Term Effects of Suffering was another big hit with their fans, peaking at number seven on the Billboard 200 charts and number two on the Top Rap Albums charts, and number one on the Indie charts. Also in 2021, the duo hit its first certified platinum single with “...And to Those I Love, Thanks for Sticking Around.” A second Grey Day Tour followed in 2021 with fellow artists from their G*59 label.

Now fully back up and running, $uicideboy$ resumed its relentless output. In 2022, they released their third full length record, Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation which debuted at the top of the Billboard Rap charts. This album had more hints of positivity than the band’s previous work, possibly signaling another evolution in the duo’s career.

In 2022, $uicideboy$ was one of the featured headliners at the Quebec City Summer Festival alongside heavyweights like Alanis Morissette, Maroon 5, and Luke Combs. High profile stints like this prove they’ve come a long way from the underground scene.

Live reviews

When $uicide Boy$ came to the Historic El Rey Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico, no one was ready for it unless they of course went to their last show at the Launchpad in Albuquerque, New Mexico "South Side Suicide". Show was so good people left and right were literally passing out and when it was over people were so satisfied and so worn out, they didn't ask for an encore. This was also a rare opportunity because whenever any good rap/hip hop artist come out here (excluding Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, ASAP Rocky, any other trash artist) they usually go to the Sunshine Theater (Albuquerque, New Mexico) or Launchpad (Albuquerque, New Mexico) and The Historic El Rey Theater is the largest indoor theater that ABQ has to offer and the owner is strict to only allow EDM type music to perform. The Historic El Rey Theater should allow more good rap/hip hop artist to perform there. $uicide Boy$ will always be good. Only thing to complain about them? The fact that we had to wait an hour and a half PAST opening time for them to start the show not including the extra thirty minutes for opener to start.

$uicideBoy$ killed it played every song i hoped to hear gave me the goosebumps. Shakewell was big don juan bossin out killed it as well. They really see the crowd i liked that noticing a fan who frequents the show some real shit. Dont hate on vip althogh no mosh we turnin up with woods and scripts and bottles man they made that place jump I know all the lyrics so turnt up hard, Too much for respect ruby, skrim, shakewell, and all the other homies like pouya and hype man “meth!” plus ghostemane

Them live was by far better than expected! Now all i gotta say is g59 until the grave.

The venue was easy to find with great facilities. The show itself I was very excited for and expecting held up. The speakers and lights created an awesome environment.

Some more detailed information could have been provided on webpages prior to concert rather than finding out on the day about who the pre acts would be. The information I read said that “DJ Meth” would start his performance at 8:30 and he didn’t start until 8:45 which was disappointing.

I haven't been to a lot of concerts (3 including $uicideboy$) and they hands down are my favorite. I saw them on tour with Ski Mask The Slump God and $not. Their love for their fans is indescribable and the whole vibe they had at the show was amazing. They played new songs, old songs, and even niche ones. I can't wait to see them live again. I 100% recommend any fan to see them live no matter how many songs you know.

$uicideboy$ always has the greatest shows, and this one was no exception. They are high energy and overall amazing. The vocals from the two are unmatched, and they are the BEST artists that I have ever heard. It was through one of their concerts that I became a die-hard fan, and continuing to go to their concerts is one of the greatest experiences one could ask for.

Best concert I've been to so far! Definitely going to see them again when they come back to Canada! The mosh pit was so insane that a bunch of seats got broken, the crowd was great always picked you up immediately if you fell down, and of course seeing Scrim, Ruby, and CrystalMeth was fucking amazing!!!

I had so much fun at the concert and the atmosphere was insane.

Being a huge fan of Suicideboys i had to get the tickets as soon as they released and they were so good live.

If they ever return to England I’ll certai be going to watch it!

Concert was awesome. People were already trying to mosh to the funk music playing in the background. Only thing is it took forever for the actual show to start... guess that’s what happens when the fan base is full of 16 year old hypebeasts. That said, it was worth it.

One of the best if not the best Concert I've ever been to. Basically 2 hours of constant moshpits and the best songs in their discography all in a Sold Out Show. Ruby and Scrim looked like they had a lot of fun and interacted with the crowd in a lot of ways

First concert I ever been too.... but I don’t think anyone could ever beat it. It was the most amazing experience and They were amazing live, I will deffinetly see them again. I love the suicideboys and what they did for little peep was heart warming.

'It should have been stopped': Genesee Co. sheriff slams Trump over Jan. 6 in Biden TV ad

Washington — A new TV ad for the Biden campaign features Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson faulting former President Donald Trump for not stepping in to prevent his supporters from attacking police officers during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

"It should’ve been stopped. That’s neglect of duty. As a sheriff, it’s awful to watch police officers getting attacked. That’s not supporting this badge and this uniform," Swanson says in the ad, gesturing to his black-collared dress uniform.

"I have no desire to work with somebody who divides. That’s not what America is. But I’ll work with anyone who unites. That’s why I’m with President Joe Biden."

The 30-second spot launched Wednesday, the day before the highly anticipated first debate between Trump and President Joe Biden in Atlanta Thursday night at 9 p.m. on CNN. The ad is running on TV markets in eight battleground states as part of a $50 million buy by the campaign for the month of June.

In Michigan, it is running statewide on broadcast, cable and digital platforms, the Biden campaign said.

A representative of Trump's campaign in Michigan highlighted polling suggesting that Trump is leading Biden in the battleground state and noting that over 100,000 Michigan Democrats voted "uncommitted" in the February presidential primary instead of for Biden.

“The only president neglecting their duty is Joe Biden who is hiding away at Camp David while illegal criminals and terrorists with ISIS ties invade our border and kill innocent Americans," said Karoline Leavitt, a Trump campaign spokeswoman. "And there is no greater neglect than when Biden left hundreds of Americans behind and 13 brave US Service Members dead in Afghanistan.” 

The former Republican president has made the Capitol attack a centerpiece of his campaign , praising the rioters and lamenting the treatment of "January 6th hostages" and suggesting he'd pardon them his first day back in office.

The ad opens with a video clip from an officer's body-worn camera as he's being attacked by a rioter outside the Capitol, as audio from Trump's Jan. 6 speech plays in a voiceover: "Fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not gonna have a country anymore."

The ad also includes clips of other officers being overrun on the steps of the Capitol, bicycle racks thrown at them and an officer in a riot-gear helmet shouting for help as he's squeezed between doors to a Capitol tunnel entrance, where of rioters and the police battled for hours on Jan. 6 .

The violent attack on Jan. 6 was prompted by former Trump's unproven claims that the 2020 election was stolen. That day, hundreds of Trump supporters broke into the Capitol building, ransacked offices and battled police in an effort to disrupt the certification of Biden's victory by lawmakers.

The insurrection did not stop that day until Trump posted a video telling his supporters, “Go home. We love you. You’re very special.” Special Counsel Jack Smith has indicted Trump for trying to overturn the 2020 election.

More than 140 police officers reported injuries from the attack, including an officer expected to lose his eye, another who was stabbed with a metal fence stake, and one who suffered a heart attack after being attacked multiple times with a stun gun, according to a report by the Senate Homeland Security Committee. Seven people ultimately died, including some by apparently natural causes, and two officers who died by suicide days after the siege.

More than 1,450 individuals have been charged in nearly 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the Capitol building, including more than 500 charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, a felony, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.

Swanson, a Democrat, said in an interview he remembers listening to Trump's speech earlier in the day on Jan. 6 and then watching in horror a short time later as the police holding the security lines around the Capitol building were overrun, comparing it to people overrunning a stadium field.

"I was listening to the speech, and it was like everyone anticipated something bad was going to happen," he recalled. 

"When it tipped over, I was watching people climb the walls and break windows. Like, I took my boys in eighth grade to tour the Capitol. … At that point when it tipped over, there was no do-overs. There was no take-backs. I was crushed. I cannot believe this is happening. I think that day will unfortunately live on as a scar on our nation."

Swanson suggested it won't be the last ad from the Biden campaign featuring footage of him.

A team followed Swanson around for three days in May and asked him in part about his decision in May 2020 to remove his riot gear and walk with Flint demonstrators who were protesting after the death of George Floyd, he said.

Swanson has suggested he's interested in running for governor in 2026. He's up for reelection this year after serving as Genesee County's sheriff for the last five years.
