Tour Overview

tel aviv to caesarea tour

Tour the coastal cities of Israel as we drive north of Tel Aviv and make our first stop in Caesarea. Here we tour the remains of an ancient Roman port city and see the theater, hippodrome, and ruins of palaces, temples, and bathhouses. We travel further north along the coast to the port city of Haifa. Here we see the terraced Baha’i Gardens on Mt. Carmel and learn about the Baha’i faith. Continuing all the way to Israel’s border with Lebanon the tour takes you to the sea caves of Rosh HaNikra. Here we can enter the cave chambers and tunnels where waves crash against the rocks. We return south and the tour visits the Crusader city of Acre. Here we tour the Crusader fortress built in the 12th century, the Ottoman structures, and a former Turkish and British Mandate citadel prison.

Sites During the Tour

Highlights - caesarea, acre and rosh hanikra tour, availability, pickup places and prices, what to expect - caesarea, acre and rosh hanikra tour.

This tour to the incredible coastal cities of Caesarea, Rosh HaNikra, Haifa, and Acre starts as we travel north of Tel Aviv along the coastal road. We pass the beach resort cities of Herzilya and Natanya then arrive in Caesarea. Our Caesarea tour takes us through the remains of Caesarea Maritima, an ancient Roman city constructed by Herod, King of Judea in about 25-13 BC. The port city had a theater, hippodrome, temples, palaces, and other structures. Many have been excavated and preserved. The theater is still used today for performances by leading artists. Later Caesarea became a Byzantine capital. Then the Crusaders established a city here surrounded by massive fortified walls. Continuing on our tour we pass through Haifa, Israel’s third-largest city built on the slope of Mount Carmel facing the sea. The Haifa tour stops at the Baha’i Gardens where 19 terraces flow down Mt. Carmel. The terraces are planted with geometric precision and adorned with flowers, fountains, and statues. At the center of the garden is the Shrine of Bab. Your tour guide will tell you about the Baha’i, their beliefs, and the significance of the gardens. Next, the tour reaches the extreme northern border where Israel meets Lebanon and the sea crashes against the white cliffs of Rosh HaNikra. Over millennia nature has hollowed out a labyrinth of tunnels and caves in the rock. The reflection of the white rock onto the blue water creates a magical turquoise color. Once the caves were only accessible from the water but today tourists can take a cable car down to the caves. As the tour makes its way south on our return journey we stop in the Crusader City of Acre (Acco). Above ground, there is a lively Ottoman-era city with a busy market and fishing harbor. Beneath the surface is a complete Crusader city built in the 12th century. See fortified walls and a moat that even Napoleon was not able to overcome. Tour the Crusader remains the Turkish citadel and see sites used during the British Mandate. The tour leaves Acre and returns south along the coast.

Caesarea Haifa Rosh Hanikra & Akko Tour from Tel Aviv

Detailed itinerary: .

Caesarea Haifa Megiddo Acre Tour from Tel Aviv

Next we proceed to Haifa , third largest city in Israel and one of its prettiest; Haifa has a lot to offer visitors. It has the Israel’s largest port, a particularly active beach and is the home of the World Center of the Bahai Faith . The Bahai’s originated in the Bab sect which separated from Iran’s Shi’ite Islam in 1844.

Visit  The Bahai World Center , an expansive and well-designed complex on the slope of the Carmel , is famous for its magnificent gardens. It includes the exquisitely landscaped “ Hanging Gardens ” which run about a kilometer along the Louis Promenade until Ha-Gefen Street. At the center is the impressive, gold-domed Shrine of the Bab , the burial place of the Bab, the founder of the faith.

Continue to Akko to see the impressive underground Crusader Halls , which were built by the Hospitallers Knights .They contain a complex of six halls, a recently excavated large hall, a dining room, a dungeon and remnants of an ancient Gothic church. Walk through the Old City of Acre to see the Oriental Market and the Acre Port. Acre – a city declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Continue to Rosh Hanikra . As you walk through the artificial tunnels and view caverns carved out by the pounding waves of the Mediterranean, you’ll enjoy the myriad shades of the water and the dramatic play of light and shadow it casts. The strange sounds the waves make as they rush in and out of the caves make it easy to believe the old legend that a pair of star-crossed lovers used to meet here, and the voice of the would-be bride can still be heard. • blancahavila 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Horrible experience with Viator Horrible tour to Valle de Guadalupe We bought a tour to Valle de Guadalupe, from a supposed “Tour company.” They sent us 4 people plus the driver in a 4 persons sedan car, my daughter had to go in the middle for 6 hours. The driver was talking on the phone back and forth, when I told him that I thought it was dangerous for us to do it, he said that he had a lot of experience driving 8 wheelers, so he didn't stop. I don't think it's allowed to take tourists this way. So unprofessional, didn't know anything about the area, he just transported us to the destination in the most uncomfortable and dangerous way. At the last point, the vineyard where they gave us a cheese board, he sat at our table and loudly talked on her cell phone, taking away the only pleasant experience of the entire day. What he did share with us, was all the dangerous places in the area. Although the driver tried, this company is not a professional tour company. We brought a bigger and safer truck, if we had known how bad it would be, we would have left on our own. Read more Written January 1, 2024

This tour was badly organized .First we waited outside the hotel for an hour before we were picked up .No one knew where to go .We thought we were finally starting the trip .But we were taken to this hilly top where we waited another hour in a dingy cafe . The tour was rushed as it was getting late .For lunch everyone is taken to this awful resturant with chaos ,substandard food and fighting crowds . Before going into the resturant you have to go thru a shop and they push coupons to you to buy super expensive products . Guide did not have much knowledge or rather one sided knowledge .We were rushed thru Masada which was the main attraction .I asked him a couple of questions breaking his monologue. He did not like it and was very rude . Do not take this tour .If you do bring your own food . It was a waste of money . Read more Written December 23, 2023

The Golan Heights is of great strategic importance, it has a commanding view of the northern Galilee. Apart from its military value, the Golan is a fertile agricultural region. • sheri0915 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles This is a wonderful tour and I pray that Israel be able to offer this again in the near future. Note: We went on this tour on 10/5, 36 hours before the Hamas attack. We really enjoyed the drive from Jerusalem and the stops that we made. Masada was a very interesting sight to behold. My only suggestion is to cut the time spent in Masada by about 30 minutes so you can spend that extra time at the Dead Sea. We got less than 30 minutes there, which was not enough. We floated in the sea for about five minutes and then had to get out and shower off to leave. Read more Written October 26, 2023

The bus was not at the pick up hotel right when it was supposed to be, maybe 10 minutes late, which made us nervous, but they eventually arrived. Dan was a fun and knowledgable guide. The place where you go to the Dead Sea is a sort of private/public beach - a lot of stairs down to the sea, not the cleanest place I've gone into the Dead Sea from, but it was fine. • Tim S 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Good tour with a knowledgeable guide I it is impossible to spend as much time in a site as you would like to when you only have a couple of days to hit the highlights. Dan Porges did an excellent job of knowing this and using every available minute tobring to life the Old and New Testaments accounts of these areas. The coach was comfort able, the agenda was well planned out and adhered to. My only complaint was the number of shops that always seemed present. However, I never felt pressured to purchase anything. BeinHarim were top class throughout. They got us back safely and then, as we had booked direct through them, processed full refunds for us for both this tour and the one we had booked two days later to Jerusalem from Ashdod. Traverse Through the Carmel Mountains

A short drive north of Caesarea takes us to Atlit Detainee Camp  where in British mandate times Jewish immigrants were detained by the British authorities. Near the camp, the impressive remains of the  Atlit Crusaders Fortress attests well to Crusaders’ architecture and power. Continue the scenic route up the Carmel mountains, passing by the Carmel Prehistoric Caves , a testominy to human evolution. Driving along the Carmel’s mountain ridge you will reach Druze a village and learn about this fascinating minority, and enjoy a local lunch.
