Tour Incity
- View history
The Tour Incity is a skyscraper office in Lyon, France. The building was completed in 2015 in the business district of La Part-Dieu, at the intersection of the Cours Lafayette (main entrance) and Garibaldi Street to replace the obsolete UAP tower. The tower is the tallest building in Greater Lyon.
- The Tallest Buildings in France
The Eiffel Tower is probably the first structure that comes to mind whenever France is mentioned. However, France is home to other large structures, some of them ranking among the tallest buildings in the European Union . Among the top 20 tallest buildings in France, 18 are located in Paris with the other two being in Lyon and Marseille . The buildings located in Paris are concentrated in the La Défense business district. La Défense hosts 72 steel and glass buildings, 19 of which are skyscrapers.
The Tour First is the tallest building in France second only to the Eiffel Tower. It is located in La Défense, Paris. This building was constructed for UAP insurance by Bouygues in 1974, and at that time it was only 522 ft tall. When UAP was purchased by AXA in 1996 the building was renamed Tour AXA. Between 2007 and 2011, large-scale renovations started on the tower. The building received a complete facelift that changed its exterior appearance and added to its height. The final product was a renovated tower of 738ft at roof height. When its spire is included, Tour First has a total height of 758ft and has a floor space of 933,310 sq ft. Together with the Italian Unicredit Tour in Milan, Tour First is the 9th tallest building in the European Union.
Tour Montparnasse
Tour Montparnasse stands at 689 feet tall. It is the tallest building in the Montparnasse area of Paris and the second tallest in the country. Until 2011, Tour Montparnasse was the tallest building in France, but following the renovations on Tour First, it fell back to second place. It is the 18th tallest building in the European Union. This tower was designed by architects Louis Hoym de Marien, Eugène Beaudouin and Urbain Cassan. The building’s façade is expected to receive a redesign by Nouvelle AOM after this company won a competition in September 2017 for the remodeling.
Tour Incity
The Tour Incity is the tallest building in the Greater Lyon area and ranks third-tallest in the country. The building was completed in 2015 in the La Part-Dieu business district. The Incity is also the 24th tallest building in the European Union, a position it shares with three other buildings in Germany and Spain that also stand at 656 feet tall.
Tour Majunga
Tour Majunga stands at 633 feet tall including its spire, ranking it as the fourth-tallest skyscraper in France. The Majunga is located in La Défense business district. This building also ranks 29th among the tallest buildings in the European Union. World-renowned architect Jean-Paul Viguier designed the building.
Other Tall Buildings
Tour Total, Tour Gan, and Tour T1 rank fifth, sixth and seventh respectively in the list of the tallest buildings in France. They are all located in the La Défense area of Paris. Tour Area and Tour Granite close the list of buildings with more than 600ft of height in France. There are approved constructions that are set to displace Tour First from its position at the top of the list. The Hermitage Plaza I and Hermitage Plaza II are expected to be completed in 2021 and will take the first rank with a height of 1,060ft. They will also be located in La Défense.

A new landmark on the Lyon skyline, the Incity tower is now the tallest high-rise in the city. The Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes and management offices of the TER and SNCF have been located there since March 2016.
Built on the old site of the UAP tower, the Incity tower is the first HQE (French high environmental quality standard) city centre skyscraper in France. 200 metres high, it is now the tallest building in Lyon, ahead of the Part-Dieu tower and the Oxygène tower, and the 3rd tallest in France, behind the First tower in Paris La Défense and the Montparnasse tower, also in Paris. It is topped by a 50 metre mast. This new landmark on the Lyon skyline has become one of the symbols of the reinvention of La Part-Dieu and offers a magnificent view of the city of Lyon.

An iconic landmark on the Lyon skyline, the Incity tower is the tallest high-rise in the city and the third tallest in France.
Designed by architecture firms Valode & Pistre and AIA, the Incity tower is the first city centre skyscraper in France to receive HQE® ( Haute Qualité Environnementale ) certification (recognition of a project’s high environmental quality).
The tower is a symbol of energy efficiency, where the penetration of natural light and the comfort of the workspaces are at the heart of the interior layout. As for its design, the building displays a sleek, elegant silhouette adorned with a sophisticated, aesthetically pleasing glass double skin façade. It is topped by a 50-metre mast and has become one of the symbols of the reinvention of La Part-Dieu business district, offering a magnificent view of the city.
Guardian SunGuard® High Durable (HD) Silver 70 coated solar control glass was selected for the double skin façade. This highly durable coating provides a high light transmission of 70% combined with a solar factor of 72% and provides a beautiful, almost diamond-like appearance.

Go beneath the streets on this tour of the spectacular, mind-bending Moscow Metro! Be awed by architecture and spot the Propaganda , then hear soviet stories from a local in the know. Finish it all up above ground, looking up to Stalins skyscrapers, and get the inside scoop on whats gone on behind those walls.
Know More about this tour
We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

This tour exceeded our expectations. Nikolai (Nick), our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, thorough, and has a great personality. He didn't take shortcuts and really covered everything that was on the agenda in great detail. Moscow Metro 2019
Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !
. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:
From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.
At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.
According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.
The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.
Coffee Ring
The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.
Zodiac Metro
According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.
Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.
Paleontological finds
Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!
