Both Arkia and Israir are a nightmare to navigate in English

For some reason both airlines have issues with booking designated seat or extra luggage when booking on their "english" versions I can't remember off hand if Arkia still gives the option when booking but I know as i did it the other week ISRAIR you can book extras after you book by using booking code and surname to check the booking BUT you need to use the hebrew version of the site for adding luggage unless they fixed this issue now ( using google translate if you don't speak Hebrew helps here)

I get your are upset but you chose Hebrew and they hung up on you when you spoke English. It could be because the woman did NOT speak English!

Slamming Israel . - yes extreme technically advanced BUT website contents are the choice of the company. If there is no English, it has to do with choice, not technology.

Finally there are buses to Eilat. When do you arrive in ISRAEL and when do you want to go to Eilat?

Eelu more than happy to talk you through how to book tickets in english on either site, although its not usually the booking thats the issue its the adding on seats or luggage that is the problem on both sites.

If it helps at all neither site works well at all if you auto translate into english or im guessing swedish

My Arkia flight has no information and canceled for all night. My worst travel experience in Tel Aviv 26/08/2022.

I feel so validated! I spent hours trying to figure out the Hebrew Arkia site my with limited Hebrew…I managed most of it but then used the help of an Israeli friend and I STILL couldn’t do it because it wanted my Israeli ID#. The customer service was nonexistent. I could only find WhatsApp and then it was automated and I never got a human. I ended up using Israir like the OP.

Nevertheless they should fix their website. I just tried to book with Arkia and couldn't go to the end. The site doesn't work in English. Getting a website to work in English is an easy fix, just hire a tech support person or a tech company who speak English. It's not that difficult.

In the end, I used Booking to buy a ticket on Arkia. It worked fine, but I guess Arkia will have to pay fees to Booking. Too bad for them.

Arkia is Israel’s second largest airline, operating scheduled domestic and international services as well as charter flights. The Airline was founded in 1949 and has been growing ever since. In the year 2007 the airline was awarded a scheduled operator’s license for flights to Larnaca.

Israel’s Arkia to open Dubai services in early 2021

Israeli carrier Arkia has disclosed that intends to open services to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, from the beginning of next year.

Arkia’s planned service follows the signing of a new air services agreement between Israel and the UAE after the two sides agreed to normalise diplomatic relations.

The carrier states that it will initially operate the Tel Aviv-Dubai route daily from 3 January, running to March 2021.

Arkia’s reservations engine indicates that Embraer 195s will be operated on the connection.

The airline’s fleet also includes Airbus A321neo twinjets.

Arkia is recommending November to March as the best months to visit Dubai, pointing out that the weather is hot and humid during other times of year.

Alongside the air services agreement with the UAE, the Israeli government has recently signed a pact with Jordanian authorities to enable overflights of both countries’ airspace.

IATA says this agreement will cut an average of 57nm (106km) from eastbound and 64nm (118km) from westbound flights operating between Gulf countries and Asia to destinations in Europe and North America.

Regional vice-president for Africa and the Middle East Muhammad Al Bakri says the direct routes will trim passengers’ journey times by about 20min.

“Connecting of the airspace between Jordan and Israel is welcome news for travellers, the environment and the aviation industry during these very difficult times,” he adds.

Superb Meals and Wine

We believe that partaking in the very best local cuisine and wine (or whatever the preferred local distillate may be) is an important part of the tour experience. We therefore spend a great deal of time researching restaurants, and have found what we think are the best in each city. This does not always mean the most expensive restaurant (though it may), but it always means a restaurant selected for exquisite, regional cuisine, ambience and gracious service. In many cases, these are “hidden gem” restaurants not frequented by tourists. On occasion, we dine in historic or Michelin-starred restaurants that are well known (and for good reason). In all cases, we have long-established relationships with the restaurant, which guarantees preferential service for our groups.

We do our wine research as well, both during our travels and also from home (but not excessive research, rest assured…). Wines at most meals will be pre-selected by Aria Tours, and will be what we think are the best examples of local varietals (where quality allows it—rarely a problem in Italy or France, for example).

We are very generous with menus and wines. Meals are usually 3-5 course affairs, depending on the time of day and portion size, and a choice for each course is usually offered. We cater to any and all dietary concerns.

Not only will we take care of any and all arrangements for your travel experience, we will be there to take care of you as well, every step of the way. Best Seats in the House

Our seats for performances and events are always excellent. We think that seats between 6th and 15th row in the central orchestra section of most venues is ideal for opera. Where preferable, we may select boxes or front row grand tier, again, depending on the venue. Whether you join us for a tour that features performances at Bayreuth, La Scala, Glyndebourne or the Lyric Opera in Chicago, you will enjoy best seats in the house.

Tour Materials

We provide each tour member with a soft cover Guidebook that is a comprehensive compilation of tour information, usually numbering over one hundred pages. We include detailed daily itineraries with approximate timings, performance synopses (courtesy of our relationship with Grove Music), background information on the cities and sites that we visit, and a “Before You Go” document that assists tour members in their tour preparation.
