We had a good stay here....room and service was very good. My only complaint is against the food. They don't have many options on their menu. The same sabji was served for breakfast for two days. Otherwise a good staying experience.

The property is good. Location is great. Food quality is pathetic. Its not cheap at all. There is no room service at all. But the staffs are friendly. In the final billing they charge 10% as service charge though they mention it as optional in parenthesis. 12% gst on top of it. No lift. If you are it 1st floor, you have to climb the stairs.

You can find a very good ambience here with a combination of nature. The rooms are very good. Suit rooms are available here. Office shop and shop bar available here. You can visit here with your family during winter because it is Murshidabad so you can visit historical places from staying here. WiFi facility available here.hotel have dinning facilities as well where you can sit and eat your dinner and lunch.

One of the best locational advantaged hotel. Unfortunately the kitchen is not very customer oriented and most of the items are not available. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but for some reason they are not able to help the guests, citing restrictions imposed by the hotel management.

Best place to stay in Behrampur, Murshidabad. Food is good. Traditional bengali cuisine is available. Do try chanar bora. Really good as compared to any other shop in Murshidabad. Service is good. It is a government resort. Rooms are big. If you are looking for transport via car then do ask for Ratan cab service. Highly professional guy. You can cover all spots in 1.5 days.

This is a government operated tourist lodge which can be booked both from the tourism department website as well as upfront on arrival. However, there is a difference in price of the two modes of booking. The prices shown in the website does not include the applicable taxes. So on arrival you have to pay the taxes at the reception over and above you internet booking charges, which I found very weird and inconvenient. There are four categories of room. We booked the most basic one through internet and were really disappointed. The plasters of the wall around the air conditioner have come out not to forget the stinky smell on opening the door for the first time. Managed to stay one night before we shifted to another hotel nearby. They have parking facilities and would charge you 50 rupees per night. Staff is good. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel as you can always find a better hotel at a cheaper deal.

It is a bit far away from Passport Seva Kendra. Nearest Hotel to PSK is Hotel Sunshine. Behavior of Staff is very good and they are very helpful. Food quality is very good and good for stomach too. But the problem is with the room. Though they are spacious but is not as clean as expected.

A well run place. Well maintained which is generally not a thing to be expected in a Government run tourist lodge. Good generator back up ...expect power cuts. Food ....Avoid continental meals please.The bar is pretty packed though.

Very dirty. The staff is warm, but are least bothered about the cleanliness of the hotel. Being located by NH-34, the location is strategic but it is pretty noisy at night, even if you take a room that doesn't face the road. Quit the hope of getting a good view. The rooms were home more to mosquitoes than me. Curtains were so so dirty, bedsheets too. Bathrooms aren't very clean, and I had stayed in an AC Deluxe Room. A clean room can be expected with the amount you pay, which wasn't found. I wouldn't say that it's value for money. Food quality is okay, some food items were surprisingly good, very homely, although the fish wasn't great. The dining is very unhygienic, cats and lizards roam around. Behrampore, being the capital city of Murshidabad, should have a good and clean tourist lodge. The property is huge and they should maintain it. It's a shame that they don't

Bengali writer Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay wrote his epic, Anandamath , sitting beside the bank of river Bhagirathi here in Baharampur. Nowadays, Baharampur sees few tourists.

This article also covers Cossimbazar , a flourishing river port during the heyday of Murshidabad. The Roy zamindar family settled at Cossimbazar and made a fortune by trading in silk.

The last capital city of independent Bengal before British rule was named after Nawab Murshid Quli Khan, the Dewan of Bengal, Bihar and Odisha.
