After testing the waters on ships big and small, they started Silver Moon Barbados in 2002 with just one luxury catamaran and the promise of intimacy, community, and respite.

While Nick will often be your captain, Nicky manages the office and reservations. Their gorgeous family of catamarans —Silver Moon & Silver Moon 3 – sail the coast of Barbados with friendly groups of just 12 passengers. Maxing out at 12 people per cruise, Calypso Cruises is best for small groups and intimate outings. Cruises last 3-5+ hours depending on which package you select.

I’ve gone on the Calypso snorkel cruise several times and it’s always one of the highlights. Captain Nick takes you to beautiful coral reefs around the island where you can see tropical fish and incredible shipwrecks in the crystal clear waters off the Barbados coastline. Plus, the food is amazing! The snorkel tour includes a premium bar (with some dangerously good signature cocktails) and a Bajan lunch buffet, complete with macaroni pie and other local favorites!

Yes, we offer a range of snorkel equipment. Masks, Snorkels, and flippers. Please note flippers are limited to certain snorkel areas. Additionally, we recommend communicating your shoe size to ensure your flipper size is available.

Yes, children are allowed on all our charters. There is no minimum age as we are a family-oriented excursion. We do ask for children to always be supervised by an adult of the charter party.

At the moment, we do not require a deposit. However, to secure your booking, we will need a completed credit card authorization form, following our cancellation policies. Payment is due on the day of the charter and can be made in cash, Visa, or Mastercard with assistance from our staff to ensure a smooth transaction.

Once we have identified your preferred charter experience, we will require the below to confirm/guarantee your booking:

• Selection of cuisine and bar. Please include dietary requirements.

Smoking in public places is against the law in Barbados. Smoking of cigarettes will be permitted only in designated areas. No cigars or Hookah permitted. Please note that in Barbados, vaping is regarded in the same way as smoking.

Guests are invited to leave a gratuity at the end of their cruise if they believe the service they received to be exceptional. Gratuities are then distributed equally amongst the crew.

All catamaran charters generally  require clients to include Seaduced cuisine and bar packages. Power boat charters may include bar only packages.

Taxi transfers can be arranged if required at surcharge

We can allow beach boarding from certain West Coast beaches. For the Catamarans and Pardos a tender is used to transfer guests from the beach to the boat. This style of boarding is not recommended for guests with mobility challenges, expectant mothers, or those with infants. Guests must ensure everyone in the party is fit for this style of boarding as it does require stepping into the tender, and a step up from the tender to the boat which can be slightly unstable.

For Searenity, beach boarding can result in above the knees being wet and guests must ensure everyone is fit for this style of boarding as it can require a high step up onto boat, balance and strength. This style of boarding is not recommended for guests with any mobility challenges, expectant mothers, or those with infants.

No shoes of any kind will be permitted on our vessels unless certain conditions apply and are approved by the company.

Whilst we love animals, unfortunately No pets allowed.

Please note, a fee of 25% of the total cost of charter is charged if you cancel 10 days prior to your scheduled cruise.  This fee is adjusted to 50% of the total cost of the charter and charged if you cancel less than 5 days prior to your scheduled cruise. Cancellation within 48 hours of your scheduled cruise will result in a 100% penalty equivalent to the total cost of your cruise. In the event of you incurring a cancellation fee, should Seaduced Luxury Charters manage to rebook your slot, a 100% refund will be applicable to you of that cancellation fee.

Should weather not be ideal for sailing on the day of your cruise (rain forecasted for most of your cruise or unfavorable seas) we will offer you the option to reschedule to a mutually convenient date. If guests cannot reschedule, Seaduced will offer a cancellation without penalty. Only Seaduced has the authority to cancel/reschedule due to weather. Overcast skies, or scattered showers will not justify cancellation. Please note we would not sail if we anticipate conditions to be unfavorable. We make decisions with the interest of you, our clients in mind, using all forecasting tools available to us as the customer experience is paramount to us!

Hurricane Beryl Strengthens in Caribbean After Flattening Islands

Officials said the storm caused extreme damage to islands in Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. No storm has become a Category 5 this early in the season.

Hurricane Beryl was barreling west toward Jamaica as a Category 5 storm early Tuesday morning, hours after it carved a trail of destruction across the southeast Caribbean and killed at least four people, officials said.

Beryl strengthened into a Category 5 storm late Monday, meaning it had maximum sustained winds of at least 157 miles per hour, according to the National Hurricane Center of the United States. It was forecast to bring hurricane conditions to Jamaica on Wednesday.

Major Atlantic hurricanes have maximum sustained winds of 111 m.p.h. or higher on a five-tier scale that was developed in the 1970s. By Tuesday morning, Beryl had sustained winds near 165 m.p.h., the National Hurricane Center said. No Atlantic storm has ever grown to Category 5 strength this early in the season, according to Philip Klotzbach , a Colorado State University meteorologist who specializes in tropical cyclones.

Beryl roared across several Caribbean islands on Monday, and four deaths were later reported in Grenada, Carriacou and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The storm made landfall on Carriacou, a small island north of Grenada, on Monday morning and “flattened” the island in just half an hour, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of Grenada said in a briefing broadcast on social media. Government officials also expected “extreme” damage on the neighboring island of Petite Martinique.

One death was reported in Grenada’s capital, St. George’s, after a tree fell on a house. “This hits home,” Mr. Mitchell said. “The deceased person is in fact the relative of one of the persons who spent the last 36 hours with us here at the National Emergency Operating Center.”

Just north of Carriacou, several islands in St. Vincent and the Grenadines also suffered “immense destruction,” Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves said in a social media briefing. One death was reported, and hundreds of homes, schools and churches were severely damaged, he said.

An estimated 90 percent of houses on Union Island had been severely damaged or destroyed, and similar levels of destruction were expected on the islands of Mayreau and Canouan, Mr. Gonsalves said.

Beryl, the first Atlantic hurricane of the season, left a trail of destruction in its path as it made landfall: trees snapped in half, extensive storm surge and roofs blown off as winds reached more than 150 miles per hour .

In Grenada, the complete scale of the damage on Carriacou and Petite Martinique would not be clear until Tuesday morning, Mr. Mitchell, the prime minister, said, adding that he would travel to Carriacou as soon as it was safe to do so. There was no power on Carriacou and Petite Martinique, and communication was difficult, officials said.

Early reports of damage also emerged in the capital as the storm passed over the main island. The roof of a police station was ripped away and a hospital had to evacuate patients to a lower level after its roof sustained damage.

Beryl was an anomaly in what is already an unusually busy storm season, which extends until the end of November. When it developed into a Category 4 storm on Sunday, it was the third major hurricane ever in the Atlantic Ocean in June — and the first time a Category 4 materialized this early there in the season.

The storm was also historic for the short time it took to strengthen from a tropical depression to a major hurricane — 42 hours — a direct result of the above-average sea surface temperatures. The quick escalation was a feat recorded only six other times in Atlantic hurricane history.

Officials in Barbados said on Monday that the island had been spared the worst of Beryl.

The prime minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, told a nationwide broadcast from the island’s emergency operations center that as many as 20 fishing boats, including two popular cruisers, had possibly sunk. Still, she added, “This could have been far worse for us.”

Roughly 40 homes were known to have sustained roof or structural damage so far, Ms. Mottley said, though that number was expected to rise as more than 400 residents returned home from shelters.

People across the eastern Caribbean had started preparing for the storm over the weekend, including those doing some last-minute shopping for supplies.

“Hurricanes are not something that we take lightly at home as a family,” said Fleur Mathurin, who lives on St. Lucia, where some parts of the island were experiencing power outages. “Having my family, my grandmothers, great-grands, gone through Hurricane Allen and Gilbert, this is something that they always preach to us.”

This Lesser-Known Bay in the Dominican Republic Is Home to Some of the Best Humpback Whale Sightings in the World

“They’re super fast, too, so you can think you’re [looking] in the right direction, and then all of a sudden, they’ll be like over there,” Skriver advised of the actvity. “So you just gotta keep your eye out at all times.”

Migration season is January through March, and Whale Samaná tours run once daily between Jan. 15 through Feb. 2, and twice daily between Feb. 3 and March 16.
