Incredible show.

Very energetic show. Absolutely loved it! I will definitely be seeing them again. Live was amazing :)

The best concert!

This concert was at a small venue, Avondale Brewing Company in Birmingham, AL. It was a smaller outdoor stage with general admission tickets. I purchased GA Pit which gave you closer access to the stage. Myself and other Puma fans were there early to get up close and personal for the best views of Eric and Adrian and the band. Eric Burton is a great frontman. He really connects to his audience. This is my 3rd Black Pumas concert and by far, my favorite!!!!!! I’ve been up close for all three. But this was the smallest and most intimate setting. The Avondale Beer was really good and there were 3 food trucks. Super friendly and laid back crowd! I will definitely be going to more shows at Avondale Brewing Company.

Great accommodations

My husband is temporarily on a walker after a bike cycling accident and the ADA section was fantastic! Great view, plenty of seats! The sound was a bit off all over the venue! The singers voices were behind the instruments, that was disappointing

Love the Black Pumas! I loved getting to see them in Birmingham again!! Rock on Eric and Adrian!! Venue was great too (Avondale Brewing)!

It was one of the best live shows I attended. They were so good!!! I came home and dreamt about it!!

Incredible!!!!!!!

Absolutely Awesome Show and Venue. I thoroughly enjoy when an artist that I Love listening to, sounds better Live, than in the studio. Performance was a total "Ear-Gasim".

Great Vibes

Loved seeing Black pumas at Avondale Brewing in BHam! Great show!

Black Pumas with Medicine Bus

Opener Medicine Bus killed it! They were incredible. And Black Pumas were a treat to see live! Perfect weather for a perfect venue

The new music seems a bit more rock than, the last album. You do not need to be at the Wiltern when doors open. 30 min before main show is more than enough.

Outstanding show - if you’re a Black Pumas fan, you must see them in person. And if you’re not yet familiar with this talented group, get onto Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube…wherever you get your music, find them, listen, then go buy your tickets! You will not be disappointed. Their energy, the lights!!, the backup singers, that voice!!!!! It’s an experience you do not want to miss. The Wiltern is also a fabulous venue. Great acoustics.

Wednesday 20th November, Dingwalls, London, Black Pumas. On the day that they have been nominated for a Grammy for best new band and well on their way to selling out the significantly bigger venue of Islington Assembly Hall in February we welcome Black Pumas to the intimate surroundings of Dingwalls. They are clearly a band with an upward trajectory and after tonight’s show you can see why.

Black Pumas are a Texas based band and the core duo of guitarist Adrian Quesada and singer Eric Burton are joined tonight by a full band of keys, drums, bass and two backing singers.

It’s the classic soul intro with the band starting the proceeding before Burton arrives on stage. An enigmatic performer his stage presence fills the room and after the first song where the sound man is finding the right levels, we are treated to a stunning funky soul masterclass. Central to that is the guy on keyboards who resplendent in big wool coat, shades and beanie hat looking like an extra from Shaft bounces around and drives the sound along.

What is clear that these guys are a real band. They complement each other perfectly from the driving rhythm section through Quesada’s licks to the sass of the ladies on the mics.

But its Burton who you can’t keep your eyes off. Whether its sashaying with the other singers or in the crowd serenading the audience his voice is clear and strong in that classic soul style.

Essentially promoting their only album, every track and more gets an airing and the tempo of the show is spot on bringing us down and taking us back up at the drop of a hand. There is however one clear highlight for me which was an amazing version of ‘Colors’ from the eponymous album. Absolutely stunning musically, vocally, choreographically from its slow build to rousing crescendo and instant singalong chorus. Hair tingling stuff. The crowd lap it up and the smiles in the audience are matched by those on stage.

A joyous evening and I’m so glad we have been able to see them in such an intimate venue before stardom and the obvious additional attention they are bound to receive takes them to bigger rooms. That’s shouldn’t daunt them though as their sound will easily fill bigger spaces and I think that maybe the addition of some brass will enhance the sound even further.

Till the next time keep on soulful funky rockin y’all

An enjoyable show but their set could use some work in my opinion. The original material hardly deviated tempo throughout the whole night and the band seemed pretty flat at times. Let them jam out more and bring some life to the set. The lead singer has a good presence but his voice did not make a big impact on me (hence the back up singers helped). Enjoyed the cover of Elenor Rigby cover a lot.

Hey, they’re a new band and are still getting the chemistry right. All in all, another retro soul act spreading vibes.

RIGHT ON, YEAH!!!

Ya'll make some amazingly beautiful noise! Thank you for sharing with us! I call it the kind of music that keeps you from getting out of the car when you're late for work and it comes on the radio!

MAJKMAC’s profile image

Great band and great gig, they really connect with the audience and so the atmosphere was very good, as they make more smooth and funky music they will only get better. A group rising to the top in my view.

Toffe band, toffe show. Veel energie bij de band en in de zaal. We gaan zeker nog een keer als ze er weer zijn. We kijken uit naar nieuw materiaal van ze!

Black Pumas Announce First Tour Dates In Over A Year

For the first time since canceling all of their tour dates back in August 2022,  Black Pumas  will return to the stage. A newly announced run of December tour dates will take the Austin-based neo-psychedelic soul outfit throughout their native Texas with special guest Danielle Ponder .

The four-show Black Pumas run will begin with two shows in the band’s native Austin at ACL Live  on December 5th and 6th. After that, the project led by multi-instrumentalist/producer Adrian Quesada  and singer/lyricist Eric Burton  will travel to The Factory  in Dallas (12/8) before wrapping at the  House of Blues  in Houston (12/9).

Tickets for the Black Pumas’ 2023 Texas run of tour dates go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. CT. Pre-sales are happening now, accessible by texting BLACKPUMAS to 29147 to get an access code.

This announcement comes weeks after Black Pumas revealed details of their first album in four years,  Chronicles Of A Diamond . The sophomore follow-up to the group’s critically and commercially acclaimed self-titled debut, the album’s announcement and lead single, “ More Than A Love Song “, broke a prolonged period of inactivity for the band.

After abruptly canceling all of their tour dates last summer citing fatigue from years of heavy touring, the group fueled rumors of a breakup by not releasing any new music or planning any new tour dates for over a year. Now, with Chronicles Of A Diamond heading for shelves on October 27th and Black Pumas returning to the stage in December, it appears that the band is back in full force.

“With us for how quickly our success happened,” Burton recently told NME of the sudden stoppage in play, “I believe that it was really important for our team to ensure that we were taking every opportunity to capitalize on the movement by sending us out to different cities and countries around the world at this point to play as many quality experiences that we could for the growth of the brand as well as the stability of it.”

“We, as a group, feel like we will only get so much time in an attention span to solidify our place in the heart and psyche of the average music listener,” he continued. “For how hard we went, it was just time for a break. When we went home, it felt like the body telling the mind like that it’s just done. It almost felt like a kid fighting sleep. At some point you have to take a step back.”

In just a couple of years’ time, songwriter Eric Burton and producer Adrian Quesada have turned their unplanned meeting into a Grammy-nominated act with songs that have racked up millions of streams and won overwhelming critical praise and multiple sold-out tours across North America and Europe. The deluxe edition of their self-titled debut album is nominated from Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards and has won acclaim from Rolling Stone , who praised “the tireless, charismatic energy of singer Eric Burton,” Pitchfork , who raved, “The duo’s flair for drama is so stirring, they can seem acutely cinematic,” NPR, The Fader, The Guardian, Billboard, Essence , and many more. Their anthemic single “Colors” – nominated for Record of the Year and Best American Roots Performance at the 2021 Grammys – hit #1 at AAA Radio and has been streamed 205 million times across all platforms. Meanwhile, the official live video of “Colors” has been viewed over 93 million times on YouTube, and the band performed the song at President Biden’s official 2021 Inauguration and the NFL Draft . From their high-profile appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , The Late Show With Stephen Colbert , Jimmy Kimmel Live! , The Late Late Show With James Corden , Good Morning America , TODAY , and more, to their Emerging Act of the Year win at the 2020 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards , Black Pumas’ trajectory continues to see a phenomenal rise.
