About Carnival Cruise Line

With 28 ships and 5.2 million passengers annually, Carnival Cruise Line is one of the two largest cruise lines in the world. The youngest member of the fleet is Carnival Panorama (4,008 passengers), which will start its first cruises in December 2019 as another newbuilding in the Vista class.

It will be followed in August 2020 by Mardi Gras, the largest ship to date (5,200 guests) and the first ship to be operated with liquefied natural gas (LNG). A further LNG cruiser is to follow in 2022. Since 1993, Carnival Cruise Line has only been a founding company of the Carnival Corporation, which was formed at that time, and is still under its flag today. Since then the fleet has grown steadily in parallel with its popularity. Meanwhile the fleet consists of 26 ships and there is no end in sight. After a newbuilding in 2018, new ships will also be added in 2020 and 2022.

Can I accept cruise ticket contract for minors in another stateroom? In order to accept the cruise ticket contract for minors, an adult must accept the contract for the minor(s) by signing the contract. What does the 'Same As' feature in Online Check-in do? 'Same As' feature allow guests to quickly and easily gather information from another guest on the same booking and enter it into their Check-in. For example, you and a friend traveling together in the same stateroom have the same emergency contact. Once you have entered this information, your friend can easily apply the same information by the click of a button. Why does Carnival need my travel Information? We want to make sure that your cruise is not only fun, but hassle-free. That is why we request that you provide us with your travel plans. In the unlikely event of an emergency, this information will put us in a better position to help. Why does Carnival need emergency contact information? In the unlikely event of an emergency, this information will put us in a better position to help. How do I get my boarding pass? To get your boarding pass, follow these instructions .

On embarkation day, a boarding pass will be emailed to your email address that is linked to your reservation profile, whether Check-in has been completed or not. At embarkation, you  may show the boarding pass on your mobile phone.    

Onboard Expense Account Why is onboard expense account information necessary? Carnival operates on a cashless credit program on board which allows you to charge all your services, gratuities and purchases during your cruise to your stateroom. All locations on board will accept your Sail & Sign card (onboard expense account) for payment; the casino will also accept cash. A credit card or cash deposit is needed to establish your personal onboard account. Carnival requires that each guest is linked to an onboard expense account. Individual guests can have their charging privileges enabled or disabled at any time by the primary account holder. How do I set-up a minor's onboard expense account? Adults are the only ones that can set-up an account for minors. To do so, please follow the steps below:

• Add or access your adult booking via 'Manage My Booking' at  https://www.carnival.com/BookedGuest/
• From the 'To Do list', click on Online Check-in
• Select 'Onboard Expense Account' 
• Select form of payment (credit or cash) and complete account set-up
• When setting up charging privileges, select 'include guest from another booking/stateroom' link to add the minors

Ho w do I set up onboard expense account for family members in another booking/stateroom? Within Online Check-in, step 4 of the onboard expense process, 'Charging Privileges', you will be given the option to 'include guests from another booking'. You will need to know their booking number and last name. Why does Carnival place holds on credit cards used during the sailing? For your convenience, Carnival validates the credit/debit card to ensure there is funding. This prevents any onboard expense account concerns while on your cruise vacation. Please note, if any payment is given to replace credit/debit card previously used, the hold will remain on your account. This will reduce the amount of funds available on your credit/debit card account. The release of this hold is entirely up to the issuing bank. It can take up to 3 to7 business days after your cruise return. How do I change my payment options once I have completed Online Check-in? If you need to change your initial payment option, go to Carnival.com and click on ' Manage My Booking '. Log in and select 'Online Check in', 'Onboard Expenses': 

• If changing credit card number or debit card number, use DELETE feature and add new credit card or debit card information.
• If changing from cash to credit card/debit card or vice versa, use DELETE feature and change your payment preference.

Shore Excursions How can I book shore excursions online? In order to purchase a shore excursion, please follow the steps below:

• Go to https://www.carnival.com/BookedGuest/ or select ' Manage My Booking '.
• Create an account if you have not done so already. You will need to provide your Carnival booking number (or cabin level booking number for Group guests-IBR), guest last name, date of birth, ship name and sail date.
• Log in with your email address or username and password.
• Select 'Book Excursions'.  
• Pick and choose which shore excursions are right for your cruise vacation.

Technical Operation Assistant Manager

Job description.

The Assistant Technical Operations Manager (ATOM) support the Technical Operations Manager, Hotel Superintendent and Technical Operations Director by managing logistical and procurement tasks and through proactive follow up on delinquent PO's, cabin request, among others. The Assistant Technical Operations Manager will serve as point of contact for all ship technical issues when the Technical Operations Manager is not available and will monitor data collected from ship technical performance reporting to provide recommendations for long-term technical operations planning. Responsible for taking and following up on tasking from TOMs as related to their ships.

Essential Functions :

• Provide logistical and administrative support for ship maintenance including the development of execution plans for services delegated by the Technical Ship Leaders, completion of items identified in service order checklists, timely delivery for services and parts required by ships and processing approved requisitions.
• Collaborate and communicate cross-functionally with shared services to book cabins and acquire riding teams for assigned ships as needed to service ship requirements
• Collect and analyze data for ship technical performance reporting to support Technical Ship Leaders in providing technical operations solutions and long-term planning
• Provide support to Technical Operations Managers for annual planning and budgeting process, weekly meetings, ship maintenance requirements, identification of service providers, and others as required
• Follow up with purchasing for overdue items and provide frequent status updates to Technical Ship Leader as required 
• Serve as back up to the Technical Operations Manager in providing support for all ship technical issues as required.     
• Support the TOD and TOM in tracking Lloyds Register Condition of Class (CoC), Statutory Deficiencies (SD), Actionable Items (AI) related to the ships of the assigned POD. Monitor CD Live, create and own a tracking sheet and a weekly FOC update slide.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related field
• 5 years of experience in technical marine operations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Working knowledge of CCL procurement process

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Excellent communication and follow-up skills for frequent interactions with Shoreside staff. Strong interpersonal skills to work with others from multiple departments across CCL. Knowledge of marine technical and regulatory compliance. Organizational skills to coordinate multiple ship activities simultaneously.

Physical Demands : Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities.

Travel : Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions : Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s base salary is $75,000 - $95,980.  Offers to the selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

Carnival's Celebration Key Bahamas adds Starfish Lagoon for family fun

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled plans for Starfish Lagoon, a new family-friendly tropical playground set to open at the exclusive Celebration Key destination on Grand Bahama in July 2025. This latest reveal promises an array of activities centered around one of the Caribbean's largest freshwater lagoons.

Features of Starfish Lagoon:

Flash Flamingo and Mach III Marlin Water Slides: Named after the national bird and fish of The Bahamas, these 350-foot-long slides offer thrilling races through the iconic 10-story Suncastle with exciting turns and colorful light displays, ending in a splashy finish.

Guppy Grotto Splash Pad: A coral reef-themed water play area for toddlers and small children, featuring a two-foot-deep wading pool, water toys, a dump bucket, interactive features, shaded seating for parents, and a nearby ice cream shop.

Game Pavilion and Sports Court: The Game Pavilion offers table games like foosball, ping pong, and cornhole, while the adjacent Sports Court includes volleyball, basketball, and pickleball courts.

Floating AquaBanas: These floating cabanas provide seating for eight, a solid table, non-slip surfaces, and easy access to the lagoon. They are grouped around a peninsula with a dedicated bar for convenient refreshments. Traditional cabanas and daybeds are also available.

Swim Up Bar: An adults-only swim-up bar serving a variety of drinks, including specialty frozen rum cocktails, all without leaving the water.

Hammocks by the Suncastle: Guests can relax in hammocks suspended over the water, enjoying views of Starfish Lagoon.

Beach Area: The beach features kayak and paddleboard rentals, space for games like frisbee or sandcastle building, sun loungers, umbrellas, and beachside cabanas.

Dining Options: A variety of dining venues, including restaurants, snack shacks, bar shacks, and Bahamian food trucks.

Starfish Lagoon complements other areas of Celebration Key, such as Paradise Plaza (welcome area), Calypso Lagoon (adult-friendly area), and Lokono Cove (shopping village). Details on an adults-only private retreat will be shared soon. Celebration Key is set to welcome its first guests in July 2025, with 500+ itineraries on 18 ships from 10 U.S. homeports already available for booking.

Carnival Cruise Line unveiled plans for Starfish Lagoon, the fourth portal at its new destination in Grand Bahama, Celebration Key.

“At Carnival, we carry more children than any other cruise line, so we’ve designed Starfish Lagoon specifically for family fun,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.  “Toddlers, teens and adults alike will find their own piece of paradise whether it be racing down one of the waterslides, playing a round of pickleball or relaxing on our floating AquaBanas

The Starfish Lagoon will offer activities for all ages and energy levels, including:

• The pink Flash Flamingo and blue Mach III Marlin water slides.
• The Guppy Grotto, a coral-reef-themed children’s water play area, featuring a wading pool, water toys, interactive features and shaded seating for parents with a nearby ice cream shop;
• The Game Pavilion features a variety of table games such as foosball, ping pong and cornhole, along with seating areas;
• The Sports Court includes volleyball, basketball and pickleball courts adjacent to the Game Pavilion.
• 12 Floating AquaBanas available for rental
• The Swim Up Bar for the adults, offering beverages such as the bar’s specialty frozen rum cocktails;
• A variety of dining venues provide many options for guests including restaurants, snack and bar shacks, along with Bahamian food trucks.

Starfish Lagoon joins Paradise Plaza, Calypso Lagoon and Lokono Cove, as four of the five portals, with details about the fifth to be shared soon.
