Come October 2023, Disney fans Down Under can enter a whole new world, hitting the sea on the Mouse House's cruise line on its first voyages from Australia and New Zealand . Fancy sailing further afield, from Sydney to Honolulu or vice versa? Tickets go on sale at 8am AEDT on Thursday, October 13, with two voyages scheduled around the Mouse House's maiden 'Magic at Sea' Australian and NZ cruises: a 13-night voyage from Honolulu to Sydney departing on October 13, 2023, then a 15-night trip the other way leaving on February 16, 2024.

Unsurprisingly, the 'Magic at Sea' legs between Australia and Aotearoa have proven as popular as Disney movies with, well, everyone, so expect these legs to attract plenty of interest.

Disney cruise line brings magical sailings to australia and new zealand for the first time.

‘Disney Magic at Sea’ sailings in Australia and New Zealand for a limited time from October 2023 through February 2024.

For the first time, Disney Cruise Line is coming to the shores of Australia and New Zealand to offer magical vacations created especially for local residents during a limited season from late 2023.

The ‘Disney Magic at Sea’ sailings will bring all of the magic of Disney to one amazing holiday experience with favourite characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars on board, plus imaginative dining and spectacular entertainment – all in one cruise.

The special sailings aboard the Disney Wonder range from two to six nights and will depart from four home ports: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia, as well as Auckland, New Zealand.

“ We are so excited to bring the magic of a Disney cruise vacation close to home for guests in Australia and New Zealand, ” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “ On these limited-time sailings, the ship is the destination, and our amazing Disney Cruise Line crew can’t wait to welcome guests on board as they are immersed in their favourite stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. ”

The inaugural sailing of this limited season departs October 28, 2023 from Sydney. Bookings open to the general public from Thursday September 29, 2022 at 8am AEST / 11am NZDT.

While on board, Disney Cruise Line guests will be immersed in the magic of Disney with unforgettable character encounters with favourite Disney friends including Captain Mickey Mouse, Captain Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto, and spectacular entertainment including original Broadway-quality shows.

Guests will also enjoy incredible dining experiences with imaginative restaurants including Tiana’s Place, where guests can meet Princess Tiana herself and enjoy a taste of New Orleans cooking, and Animator’s Palate, an interactive dining experience that celebrates Disney animation.

Children will have their own “Frozen” adventures in Disney’s Oceaneer Club, along with a multi-level replica of Andy’s Room from “Toy Story” and a place to summon their inner super hero at the Marvel Super Hero Academy. The announcement came at the D23 Expo 2022 when Josh D’Amaro, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman, announced the Disney Wonder will sail to Australia and New Zealand with a repositioning cruise visiting ports in the South Pacific.

Voyage from Vancouver, British Columbia, to the breathtaking beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. From Honolulu, cruise the South Pacific across the international date line to Sydney, Australia. The Disney Wonder will sail on a 10-night Hawaiian cruise from Vancouver to Honolulu on October 3 2023.

Then she will sail from Honolulu to her new home port of Sydney Australia on October 13, 2023. This 13-night sailing wil have port stops at Pago Pago, American Samoa, Lautoka, Figi, Noumea, and New Caledonia. This Disney Transpacific cruise will have 10 days at sea.

The Disney Wonder will then embark on sailings from two to six nights and depart from four home ports: Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, Australia; and Auckland, New Zealand.

She will then sail back to Honolulu, Hawaii on a 15-night journey from Sydney on February 16, 2023.

From Honolulu, the Disney Wonder will sail back to Vancouver on March 1, 2024.

As this is too early for the Alaskan cruise sailings it is likely that she will then sail from Vancouver back to San Diego for more Mexican Riviera and Baja cruises from mid-March to mid-May 2024.

Have you dreamed of a Disney cruise to the South Pacific? Well now is your chance! In addition to the reveal of new details for the 6th Disney ship (the Disney Treasure!), Disney announced they are sailing Down Under for the very first time!

In October of 2023, Disney will be sailing the Disney Wonder over to Hawaii, and will follow that up with a repositioning cruise to Sydney Australia! They’ll do the reverse in February and March of 2024.

The first of the two 10 night Hawaiian cruises will be October 3, 2023, and will sail from Vancouver to Honolulu, with stops including Hilo, Kauai and Maui. They’ll sail the reverse itinerary on March 1, 2024.

The Disney Wonder will then cruise from Honolulu to Sydney on October 13, 2023 on a 13 night cruise that will stop in Pago Pago, American Samoa, Fiji, and New Caledonia.

On February 16, 2024, there will be a 15 night sailing from Sydney back to Honolulu with those same stops plus Maui.

Bookings will open October 3rd to Platinum Castaway Club members, guests who have sailed more than 10 times with Disney, and Golden Oak residents.

Gold Castaway Club members, guests who have sailed more than 5 times with Disney, can book October 4th.

Silver Castaway Club members, guests who have sailed more than 1 time with Disney, Disney Vacation Club members, and Adventure Insiders can book October 5th!

Everyone else can book October 6th.

The Disney Wonder is officially down under!

Disney Cruise Line will mark another incredible milestone on Oct. 28 when the Disney Wonder sets sail from the shores of Australia for the first time ever, embarking on the inaugural “Disney Magic at Sea” cruise for families in Australia and New Zealand. These two-night to six-night special Disney Cruise sailings continue through February 2024 and allow guests to experience the magic of Disney right in their backyard, with cruises departing from four different home ports: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand.

Guests will be immersed in their favorite Disney stories during the “ Disney Magic at Sea ” cruises, with activities and spaces for everyone in the family to enjoy, including the imaginative dining and world-class entertainment that Disney Cruise Line is known for. New versions of the “Heroes Unite” deck party and “Crush’s Totally Awesome Pool Party,” as well as special character encounters including Moana’s first appearance on the high seas will allow guests to experience Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars stories and characters in new ways.

We’re also excited about the return of Disney Cruise Line to Australia and New Zealand in the fall of 2024 for a second season of vacations, with departures running from October 2024 to February 2025! On its way back to Australia, the Disney Wonder will first embark on a set of bucket-list itineraries , sailing from Vancouver, Canada, to Honolulu, Hawaii, in late September 2024 with stops on the islands of Kauai, Maui, Hawaii and Oahu. From Hawaii, families will set sail on a transpacific voyage to Sydney, Australia, that will visit once-in-a-lifetime destinations such as Fiji, American Samoa and New Caledonia.

The arrival into Australia is another part of Disney Cruise Line’s unprecedented expansion. With three new ships planned through 2025 and exciting new itineraries around the world, we are thrilled to bring Disney magic at sea to families across the globe for the first time.

I had a great time on my recent Disney Cruise from Melbourne to Hobart return. Got the Australian souveniers and love them. It was so good to have Disney here in Australia. I met lots of characters, despite the very long lines. Have to admit my feet were really sore by the end of the day for standing for so long. Especially as I have a disability and use a cane. This role will be responsible for all secretarial and administrative support inclusive of scheduling meetings, coordinating schedules, booking travel, receiving guests and daily email and phone correspondence. You should be energetic, proactive, self-starters with experience working in multi-national companies. Candidates must work well in teams and possess the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

• Provide full secretarial and administrative support to the leaders
• Prepare and support any presentation deck and reports for meetings
• Manage the day-to-day calendar, including organizing meetings and managing schedule
• Coordinate and act as the point of contact for local and overseas meetings and conference arrangements
• Handle daily correspondence (mails, emails, faxes), answer phone calls and take and relay messages in a timely manner
• Receive guests/overseas visitors

• Liaise with the Directors direct reports and other employees to ensure follow up and that deadlines are met 
• Assist in coordinating important pieces of work/projects for the VP between his team and others in the organization as required
• Make travel arrangements which include booking of flights, ticketing, hotel reservations, visa application etc.
• Prepare and submit Travel & Entertainment (T&E) claims using the internal tracking system
• Coordinate team calendars including team meetings and events
• Provide additional support to other senior leaders in the team with T&E and travel booking as required
• Other office duties and personal matters as and when assigned by the leaders

COMPETENCIES

• Secretarial Diploma and/or Business Administration Degree with 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a multi-national corporation
• Fluent in speaking/ writing/ listening in English and Chinese 
• Experience in managing schedules, arranging meetings, making travel arrangements and providing administrative support
• Proficient at juggling extremely hectic schedule while remaining professional at all times & maintaining confidentiality of discussions
• Highly organized with good spoken and written communication as well as interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Good etiquette, pleasant composure and a positive working attitude
• A good team player who is mature, professional, highly motivated and energetic
• Meticulous with good organizational and planning skills
• Detail Oriented, pro-active and a self-starter
• Proven ability to work well in teams
• Keen understanding of stakeholder management & building organizational support
